Carousel Hotel - Blackpool

I found the staff were quite miserable. We booked a double room and got a twin room,the room was also really hot and the heating was not on. The view we got was of a lower roof and another hotel quite close. The breakfast was cold although the food bought out was in hot trays.

On arrival at the hotel we were moved to a room with seaviews for no extra charge. The double room was comfortable and clean; possibly a bit small for some people but fine for us (although the shower was very tiny!!). Could do with new TVs. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy. Although the hotel was a bit of a walk from the main attractions of Blackpool there were tram stops for both directions just across the road and daysaver tram tickets can be bought. I was really pleased to arrive and find that the room was ready early which was great. The bar and reception staff were friendly and helpful. The outside of the hotel looks like, well, Blackpool! But the inside has been refurbished and looks great. The only criticism I would make is that the pipes on our floor/above and below the room I was in were […] really noisy if someone ran a tap or took a shower but theres nothing the hotel staff could have done to change that! Overall a very pleasant stay, staff were welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and tidy. Only Issue I had was the distance the hotel was from the centre of blackpool, but that was entirely my fault and it didnt really cause too much of an inconvenience, the hotel is opposite the tram station and they are fairly frequent.

As we had been to this hotel previously about 3yrs ago we felt we could book with confidence. The hotel is on the South Prom near the 2nd last tram stop and is in a quiet area. Staff very friendly and hotel is spotless clean. Shower was a bit on small side but adequate to quickly shower if not too big. Breakfast did keep running out around 9 each morning which appears is time most want to eat as shuts at 9.30 could be better is shut at 10 giving more spread over the times people get up when on holiday.

The carousel hotel is the best hotel my husband & Myself have stayed in , in Blackpool. It was very clean & modern. The breakfast was lovely ,comfy bed & nice room . I have already recommended this hotel to family . We would stay there again most definately .

Stay was good, only fault would be that our room was directly over the function suite, and on our 2 night stay we had a wedding on both nights, otherwise the break was excellent.

On arrival we found that a wedding party was taking place, fair enough but as all the party were in the bar this prevented us access after a long journey until the evening. We should have been advised that a wedding party was there.The restaurant is paid but lip service as the main intention seems to serve bar meals. Overall the hotel lack the service […] which it states to have. We also had to park several streets away although the hotel says that it offers private parking but what it fails to mention this is only for about a dozen cars at most. What a lovely hotel and overnight stay! The lady on Reception was great - really friendly and helpful and allowed us to check in early so that we could unpack the car and get out and about. She was also really helpful in suggesting a couple of nice places to eat (we chose 'Toast' in the centre which was very nice) Our room was a non-sea view (cheaper) […] room and it was quite small but it had everything we needed and was nice and clean and modern (my husband tells me I am a fussy guest so he was relieved!) The only gripe I would have is that we were on the third floor and there were a couple of floorboards outside our room which were very creaky and noisy which woke us early in the morning but I'm being picky here! The hotel is at the far south end of the prom but we liked that as it meant it was away from the hustle and bustle. There is a a tram stop just outside the hotel which is great value when you buy a day ticket - much cheaper than taxis and very regular, running till late. Lovely breakfast (especially the sausages!) and it all ran smoothly with the last sitting at 10am on the Sunday (nobody rushing you along! Checkout at 11am so a nice slow paced morning! This a lovely hotel and I would happily stay there again and suggest it to friends/family. Thank You to The Carousel for a lovely stay - we will be back with the children next time! Read more

Comfortably hotel in a good location, helpful staff and the Pizza is to be recommended. Some maintenance required in the room but no big issue. The major drawback is the limited parking. Good 2 day stay and would use the hotel again.

The hotel staff were most helpful. We had breakfast included in the room rate - this was excellent. We also decided to have dinner in the evening. Sadly, the menu was limited as they had a large function booked in the hotel on that weekend - this function also meant that the staff were somewhat under pressure during the evening. Nevertheless, the meal […] was well presented and enjoyable. Parking was a big issue and we ended up having to park our car on a neighbouring street. Overall cleanliness was extremely good. If you're venturing to Blackpool in the near future be warned - there are major renovations going on to the seafront and whilst we knew that the hotel was some way off from the main 'goings on' the lack of tram facilities, ie non-operational, meant a taxi was the only feasible option, unless you fancied a very, very long trek. We did try to catch a bus, but after 30 odd minutes of waiting gave it up as a bad job. It is a very good hotel though. Read more

The hotel is extremely well located for the main amenities of Blackpool yet in a fairly quiet area on the South Shore. The interior of the hotel was well decorated and the room was well equipped with plenty of storage. Breakfast time was a bit crowded but we were shown to a table very quickly. This hotel in on the south shore a good 10 - 15 mins walk from the pleasure beach, on the good side it is quiet, on the bad side (for the time we went) Blackpool are doing work on the prom. This is pretty much from the north to the south, so only the buses are running this far down. The taxi cost about seven pound to get to the tower. The hotel is brilliant […] and we are looking already to book there again. It is clean, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The car park was a little disappointing, I thought it would be bigger, there is car parking out at the front on first come first serve and a little one round the back, that been said we arrived at half two and parked easily round the back, if we had been staying longer we could have move it round the front later. For those of you coming back after midnight there is food still been served in the bar area.
