"Unbelievable location and amazing staff"
This hotel was amazing placed adjacent to a ruin site that was adjacent to the colliseum and across from the Platino. Convenient to such sites was great, but the hotel itself was even bettter. Their fabulous diining room looked out over the lit coliseum, it was breathtaking. The staff was amazingly helpful, so kind and accommodating. "Very recommended, great service but very expensive"
I loved staying at this hotel. They gave us an upgrade for our anniversary and gave us an amazing suite. The only con that I would say is that their restaurant AROMA is completely overrated. So so expensive, ridiculously expensive and tiny portions. Good but for the price it'd be amazing. Just ok. The view unbeliabable though to the Colliseum. The hotel […] highly recommended just don't waste money at the restaurant. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A+ hotel & staff. Best location in Rome!"
Wonderful hotel and location. Staff were very helpful in every way. Hotel restaurant was first class and the food was awesome. Overall this hotel and their staff helped make our family vacation a pleasant one.Genuine Expedia guest review
When I booked this reservation I thought I was booking a large hotel room for a family of 4. What a pleasant surprise when I was told that we had our very own apartment! It was not at the hotel site but very close by. The staff was only a phone call away and arranged taxis and any other service we needed. The apartment came with a washer which was nice. […] We had planned to send our laundry out, but since we had our own washer there was no need too. I would definitely stay here again!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and great service"
I traveled with my husband and two boys, ages 14 and 16. We stayed at Loft, an apartment about 6 blocks away from the hotel. It was great space. It was somewhat inconvenient to have only one bathroom but was expected. It also had small kitchen with all the kitchen appliances and a small washer/dryer, one that I saw in Tokyo. I didn't use it but I thought […] it would be great for a family. The bedroom didn't have a air conditioner so we had to leave the door open for the bedroom to cool. Concierge made all the reservations for restaurants and tickets(without wait) we requested. There was a gelati shop a half of a block from the loft. I loved their watermelon ice and ice cream, I mean Gelatti. We took Taxi to everywhere and Hotel called the taxis for us and they were always on time. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was on the expensive side but the food was great and amazing view of the Coloseum. We also had breakfast. It was good too. "Great location with very friendly staff"
People were great; restaurant on roof was overly pretentious without merit. Tried to push expensive items (wine) rather than listen to clients. Less pomp and following elaborate rituals and more focus on clients. Took forever to get wine opened and poured for example.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"In the center of it all yet still first class"
Greatest hotel of our Germany/Italy trip. Was fearful of Rome's reputation but the service was as I would expect for a 5 Star hotel. Definitely made our stay in Rome. "Palazzo Manfreddi close down and get ready!"
I checked in after a long and pleasant drive from Northern Tuscany. The lobby was small and uninviting and so were the help. The gentleman at the desk was unfriendly and grouchy. I love Italy and have always found the people warm and hospitable, not at this hotel. I asked for two keys as two people were registered and the front desk person looked at […] me as though I were asking for a ride to Mars! Then they both disappeared (the front desk person and the bell man) to a back office and came back and told me they only had one key. At this point I was too tired and it was not even worth arguing with anyone. We got back into the car and drove to the room and had to call to have the bellman come and help us, even though I was told that there would be a person there to help. There was no one checking in so I had no idea what his problem was. The room was clean but had no full length mirror and the floors were badly scratched. I will never stay there again and cannot recommend it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Loved the Palazzo Manfredi"
We had 2 adults and 2 kids. We were given 2 adjoining rooms. The hotel is excellent. We loved the location, and the hotel staff. "Wonderful Hotel & Staff"
The staff at this hotel are wonderful. They are all so friendly and helpful with whatever you might need. The view of the Coliseum from our window was incredible but there is some road noise if you choose to have your window open. The food is very good, pricey yes, but worth it for the convenience of having it in your room or at their restaurant. We […] ate there a lot but we enjoy room service after walking around all day. It's nice to eat alone sometimes. It's also very relaxing to sit and have some wine in the room next to the restaurant which overlooks a really nice park. If you walk about a block down from the hotel opposite the coliseum on the left side of the road there is a fantastic little bakery shop. The connoli's and crossants and just delicious. Try the croissants with marmalade, they are so good. We loved this hotel and it's staff. We can't wait to return to Rome! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A beautiful hotel in a beautiful city"
Staff were very helpful, making reservations and recommendations. Helping with tickets to sites and calling taxis whenever possible.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel staff was great, anything I asked for they jumped at the opportunity to help and or assist. The language barrier was not a issue since they seem to have at least one staff member that spoke multiple languages and went above and beyond to accomodate.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Rome is wonderfull.. hotel not so!"
We stayed at the Via dei Serpenti location which is suitable for families with children. Whilst the location itself is extremely central it's housed in the rather frayed residential building which (as could be expected) does not have an elevator and logging suitcases at four flights is quite an excercise (one might say much needed in light of all the […] excellent restaurants in the area..) All in all, we had a pleasant stay but the description on the property was somewhat "exagerated" althought Rome - being "the eternal city" - amply compensated for all the relatively minor shortcomings of the hotel... "Hotel Palazzo Manfredi in Rome"
My husband and I spent one night in Rome after a Mediterranean cruise and chose Palazzo Manfredi due to the location. The hotel was quaint and elegant. The staff bent over backwards to make the stay exceptional. The hotel is located literally across the street from the Colosseum. We chose a slightly more expensive room to have a view of the Colosseum […] from our room. It was magnificent. The hotel is a bit pricey but worth it for the short stay. There is a lovely restaurant on the roof with spectacular views and a lovely menu but again, expensive. We chose instead to take a cab to the shopping district, where we walked to view sites and chose an outdoor cafe/restaurant near the Trevi fountain for dinner. I would definitely recommend this hotel if one is looking for a lovely experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Was extremely satisfied with this hotel... location was very convenient, within walking distance to Colosseum and Campodoglio as well as hop on/off tour bus to major attractions if you didn't want to walk... Staff was wonderful, very helpful and accomodating... spoke excellent English. Upon arrival, we were offered free drink on the roof-top terrace […] with magnificent view overlooking the Colosseum and free plate of goodies were delivered to our room. Room was very spacious for European standards and very clean... A/C worked perfectly, water pressure very good... Thought we had signed up for free Continental breakfast, but apparently not... dining on rooftop was a bit expensive. Would definitely stay again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I wish I had time to go into great detail but this hotel is far from a 5 star and I can't give it 4 either. Long story short, they tried to pull a few tricks over us by placing us in rooms that were very suspect including offering us an off-site "apartment" which was large but had multiple issues. Their breakfast is the best I've had in years; maybe […] ever. However, that's a bout it. Do not go for the "okie-doke". This place is shady!!!!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

What an exceptional location for my stay in Roma. The day and evening view of the coliseum was spectacular! The staff was very friendly. Great location near Colliseum and ancient Rome. Walked everywhere! Room was wonderful and staff was great. Loved eating breakfast on the rooftop with view of Rome and Colliseum. Great location, nice area and front desk staff were lovely and helpful. We booked an apartment which is round the corner from the hotel as we were travelling as a family and wanted the extra room and kitchen. We were just a bit disappointed with our room, having booked a loft apartment and then being supposedly upgraded to a suite apartment but it was […] smaller than I had hoped and did not have a separate kitchen like the loft room. To be fair to the hotel, they said the room we booked wasn't available so perhaps the fault of the booking agent and the room we had was adequate but disappointing. Also, would be good if there were more international tv channels. We had hoped to go out one night on our own and have a babysitter but didn't because of this (and the smaller space). Located over the gladiators' quarters, so, close to the Colosseum. The view from the restaurant is terrific. Well worth at least taking breakfast there one day(€30). Staying in the airy loft apartment (1 road back & 4 roads up a slight hill) gives you loads of room and a kitchen. Situated at the ground floor of a residential apartment block. Enjoy the […] view of Italians parking in impossible spaces. The ice cream parlor on the corner (recommend the chocolate chilli one) Keep walking a little further and discover Propaganda, a very trendy caffe/bar/restaurant. Ideal for an afternoon coffee with macaroons. An evening meal. Some great cocktails into the night. Hotel staff are genuinely considerate, asking all the right questions, without being pestering. "Greta location, nice accomodation"
This apartment is in a great location. Staff were fantastic. Only 2 complaints. The foldout sofa was incredibly uncomfortable for our kids (we ended up putting the mattress on the floor), and the bathrooms are tiny. I think this would be perfect for 3 or 4 guests, but was a little impractical for 5.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location but expensive for what it offers"
We stayed in the Marco Aurelius Annex - which is about 0.5 miles away from the main hotel - I hadn't appreciated this at the time of booking but it isn't my definition of an annex. It isn't a problem but you should be aware if you want the hotel experience. We were also asked to walk from the hotel to the annex in the high temperature of the day - now […] maybe you think that is a minor issue but given that this is an expensive place to stay, it again just lacked that touch of thoughtfulness that would make a big difference. Given that this is billed as a luxury apartment, it was disappointing that the main room (with sofa bed) has a big internal A/C unit, which is noisy and not wonderfully efficient AND the actual bedroom HAS NO A/C - instead the staff member who took us to the annex explained that we should plug a freestanding fan in and 'blow the cold air into the bedroom!'. Frankly, quite astonishing given the July heat of Rome. We did complain about the inadequacy of this but the front desk never got back to us - again inconsistent with the intended luxury experience. The rooms are also lit by spotlights - one in each corner of each room - giving the impression of being at a sporting event rather than a relaxing hotel suite. And in the process generating lots of heat! There were two uplighter lamps but only one of these worked. The bedside lights, while being very fashionable, cast next to no light and were certainly impossible to read by when the spotlights were off. We booked the apartment which is part of the hotel but not in the hotel.....this was well below the 5 star standard. I would say more like 3 star...v disappointing indeed. "Horrible place to stay!"
The "apartment suite" as they called it was a joke. We couldn't just sit outside as they had no benches or anything. I was supposed to have 2 rooms one with a king bed and one with a double. Instead we had 1 room with a double bed in it and a pull out couch for the kids right when you walk into the room. Also this hotel does not like to restock the […] necessities such as toilet paper! We had to go out and buy our own. The room did have a stove which we thought due to the expensiveness of restaurants in Rome would be good however the room had no pots or pans to cook with so the stove top was never used. It was not at all a good place to say,it says that it overlooks the coloseum but only the hotel does, we couldn't even see it at the place we stayed in. Won't go back there again. "Great Hotel but pricey in restaurant!!"
Lovely hotel - clean and good standard. Even though its location is superb being right opposite the collosseum, it is in quite a quiet area which for us was great but may not suit everyone. The only disappointment about this hotel, which is why i havent given it full marks, is the cost of items in the restaurant. We went to the restaurant on the first […] day, only to find that our bill came to 16 euros - we had only ordered a tea and a coffee. "The large terrace on the roof was the best part..."
Cute little boutique hotel. Most of the nearby cafes/restaurant were too touristy for my tastes (although should've expected that, being so extremely close to the Colosseum). Interior of the room was really Italian, unique, and well-decorated. "You should really consider this hotel."
This hotel was fantastic. The staff were very warm and friendly and really made you feel welcomed. The restaurant is expensive, this is a 5 star hotel though. We did not eat in the evenings, but did have lunch when we arrived which we really enjoyed especially when you can look over to the Coliseum. We decided to pay 30 euros for a buffet breakfast […] on two of the mornings of the 3 nights that we stayed, this so worth it, the service is exceptional. We had great expectations of this hotel after reading reviews and seeing some photos online. Palazzo Manfredi exceed those high expectations. The room was beautiful and immaculately maintained. My partner wanted to take the fabulous shower room home with us. Its position, right opposite the Colosseum, within easy walking distance access of the city […] centre and the Centro Storico, could not be better. It snowed heavily, and unusually, while we there were and so we used the splendid restaurant on the roof more than we might have otherwise but this was an easy decision as the food was of amazing quality. The service was also of the highest standard, the wine waiter in particular being helpful and discerning. And then there's that fabulous view of the Colosseum, in the sunshine as you eat breakfast or illuminated in the darkness as you dine in the evening. Being a geeky couple, we were also relieved to discover that wifi was complimentary and effective throughout. Had we not taken our laptops, they would have supplied an iPad for our use.
