"A stone's throw from the Colosseum"
We stayed only one night but we were very impressed both with the hotel itself and its rooftop bar and restaurant, Aroma. Upon arriving we were informed that due to a booking error with Hotels.com, the room we had requested was not available. Since we had already been charged for the room, naturally I was concerned. But the concierge immediately offered […] to pay for a private driver to the airport the following day and also gave us a free breakfast buffet. Once in the room, we found that the hotel had delivered us a bottle of Prosecco and some small snacks, with a handwritten welcome note, also as an acknowledgement of the booking issue. Later that night, both the front desk manager and the hotel manager came up to my wife and I to apologize for the mixup. In our view, Palazzo Manfredi went out of their way to be accommodating and considerate in light of the issue. It was very impressive. Separately, we enjoyed the location, which is less than five minutes from the Colosseum. We especially enjoyed having dinner and a drink at their rooftop bar, Aroma, which has outstanding views of the Colosseum. It's expensive, but worth a visit if it's in your budget. Our room was clean and very nicely appointed. The hotel itself was quiet and upscale without being obnoxious or overly trendy. It had the "upscale romantic" vibe we were going for on the last night of our honeymoon. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent view of the Colosseum"
An excellent view of the Colosseum. However, the departments are small, dirty and no good service.Genuine Expedia guest review
100 yards from the Colloseum and adjacent to (actually built on part of) the relatively recently unearthed Ludus Magnus. Make sure you insist on a Colosseum view room, not a "park view" room, and it wouldn't hurt to call the hotel to confirm that's what you're getting. The view out your window will be unbelievable. Besides the location, the hotel is […] recently renovated, wonderful staff. An intimate top floor restaurant has balcony dining overlooking Colosseum. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Elegant, small hotel across street from Colosseum"
We had only a one night stay, but the hotel was remarkably convenient, the staff helpful and friendly, and the rooms comfortable and stylish. The restaurant is absolutely wonderful, on a rooftop terrace overlooking the Colosseum.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Mediocre hotel but close to colosseum"
The staff and the food were great but if you're from America and you're use to a 5 star hotel with all the trimmings, this is not the place. The rooms our not worth the price they charge and their tvs are CRT. Beside the staff and the food, it was convenient the colosseum was across the street.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great staff, great hotel!"
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We are a family of 5 and thus stayed at one of the hotel apartments which was very comfortable, clean, and only a one minute walk from the hotel. The hotel staff were wonderful and always helpful (especially Rafael at the front desk).Genuine Expedia guest review
"Unbelievable location and amazing staff"
This hotel was amazing placed adjacent to a ruin site that was adjacent to the colliseum and across from the Platino. Convenient to such sites was great, but the hotel itself was even bettter. Their fabulous diining room looked out over the lit coliseum, it was breathtaking. The staff was amazingly helpful, so kind and accommodating. I really loved […] their warmth and kindness all packaged up in a 5 star beautiful hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

It is truly a magnificent hotel and superb location! Nice and professional stuff, great attitude and helpful people. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Definitely will recommend to everyone and will be back again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very recommended, great service but very expensive"
I loved staying at this hotel. They gave us an upgrade for our anniversary and gave us an amazing suite. The only con that I would say is that their restaurant AROMA is completely overrated. So so expensive, ridiculously expensive and tiny portions. Good but for the price it'd be amazing. Just ok. The view unbeliabable though to the Colliseum. The hotel […] highly recommended just don't waste money at the restaurant. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A+ hotel & staff. Best location in Rome!"
Wonderful hotel and location. Staff were very helpful in every way. Hotel restaurant was first class and the food was awesome. Overall this hotel and their staff helped make our family vacation a pleasant one.Genuine Expedia guest review
When I booked this reservation I thought I was booking a large hotel room for a family of 4. What a pleasant surprise when I was told that we had our very own apartment! It was not at the hotel site but very close by. The staff was only a phone call away and arranged taxis and any other service we needed. The apartment came with a washer which was nice. […] We had planned to send our laundry out, but since we had our own washer there was no need too. I would definitely stay here again!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and great service"
I traveled with my husband and two boys, ages 14 and 16. We stayed at Loft, an apartment about 6 blocks away from the hotel. It was great space. It was somewhat inconvenient to have only one bathroom but was expected. It also had small kitchen with all the kitchen appliances and a small washer/dryer, one that I saw in Tokyo. I didn't use it but I thought […] it would be great for a family. The bedroom didn't have a air conditioner so we had to leave the door open for the bedroom to cool. Concierge made all the reservations for restaurants and tickets(without wait) we requested. There was a gelati shop a half of a block from the loft. I loved their watermelon ice and ice cream, I mean Gelatti. We took Taxi to everywhere and Hotel called the taxis for us and they were always on time. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was on the expensive side but the food was great and amazing view of the Coloseum. We also had breakfast. It was good too. "Great location with very friendly staff"
People were great; restaurant on roof was overly pretentious without merit. Tried to push expensive items (wine) rather than listen to clients. Less pomp and following elaborate rituals and more focus on clients. Took forever to get wine opened and poured for example.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"In the center of it all yet still first class"
Greatest hotel of our Germany/Italy trip. Was fearful of Rome's reputation but the service was as I would expect for a 5 Star hotel. Definitely made our stay in Rome. "Palazzo Manfreddi close down and get ready!"
I checked in after a long and pleasant drive from Northern Tuscany. The lobby was small and uninviting and so were the help. The gentleman at the desk was unfriendly and grouchy. I love Italy and have always found the people warm and hospitable, not at this hotel. I asked for two keys as two people were registered and the front desk person looked at […] me as though I were asking for a ride to Mars! Then they both disappeared (the front desk person and the bell man) to a back office and came back and told me they only had one key. At this point I was too tired and it was not even worth arguing with anyone. We got back into the car and drove to the room and had to call to have the bellman come and help us, even though I was told that there would be a person there to help. There was no one checking in so I had no idea what his problem was. The room was clean but had no full length mirror and the floors were badly scratched. I will never stay there again and cannot recommend it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Loved it - we stayed in one other apartments, a couple locks away from the main hotel. Quieter, great standard of furnishings and comfortable. So close to Coliseum it's unreal. We booked the hotel for our honeymoon trip and from the moment we arrived we were treat like royalty. The staff were superb and were always there if you needed them. "We were offered to stay at the apartment instead"
We were expecting to stay at the hotel, which was very close to the Colosseo. "Perfect location for experiencing Rome."
Just minutes away from the colosseum with real Roman charm ... we stayed in a loft apartment 5 mins walk away. It was a shame that we only spent one night yet it felt like we had been in Rome for many days. The apartment was far better than expected and had all amenities (although pen and paper would have been great, along with visiting suggestions, […] especially as not at the hotel itself). The area around the hotel was buzzing with places to eat and drink and not at all touristy - a bonus if you have spent the day following the crowds around the city. The hotel was beautifully decorated and well kept, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful- keen to make your stay as comfortable as possible! The location is fantastic too- literally a 1 minute walk away from the colosseum (fantastic view of the colosseum from the hotel's restaurant!!) as well as being a short and simple walk away from the […] metro stop Colosseo you are a short walk away from stops for local buses and tour buses which makes it very easy to get around to all the other beautiful sights that Rome had to offer! "Fantastic location for exploring Rome"
A great apartment, very clean and 5* service, the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the quality was great. Location excellent for exploring - thank you.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location, nice area and front desk staff were lovely and helpful. We booked an apartment which is round the corner from the hotel as we were travelling as a family and wanted the extra room and kitchen. We were just a bit disappointed with our room, having booked a loft apartment and then being supposedly upgraded to a suite apartment but it was […] smaller than I had hoped and did not have a separate kitchen like the loft room. To be fair to the hotel, they said the room we booked wasn't available so perhaps the fault of the booking agent and the room we had was adequate but disappointing. Also, would be good if there were more international tv channels. We had hoped to go out one night on our own and have a babysitter but didn't because of this (and the smaller space). Located over the gladiators' quarters, so, close to the Colosseum. The view from the restaurant is terrific. Well worth at least taking breakfast there one day(€30). Staying in the airy loft apartment (1 road back & 4 roads up a slight hill) gives you loads of room and a kitchen. Situated at the ground floor of a residential apartment block. Enjoy the […] view of Italians parking in impossible spaces. The ice cream parlor on the corner (recommend the chocolate chilli one) Keep walking a little further and discover Propaganda, a very trendy caffe/bar/restaurant. Ideal for an afternoon coffee with macaroons. An evening meal. Some great cocktails into the night. Hotel staff are genuinely considerate, asking all the right questions, without being pestering. "Greta location, nice accomodation"
This apartment is in a great location. Staff were fantastic. Only 2 complaints. The foldout sofa was incredibly uncomfortable for our kids (we ended up putting the mattress on the floor), and the bathrooms are tiny. I think this would be perfect for 3 or 4 guests, but was a little impractical for 5.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location but expensive for what it offers"
We stayed in the Marco Aurelius Annex - which is about 0.5 miles away from the main hotel - I hadn't appreciated this at the time of booking but it isn't my definition of an annex. It isn't a problem but you should be aware if you want the hotel experience. We were also asked to walk from the hotel to the annex in the high temperature of the day - now […] maybe you think that is a minor issue but given that this is an expensive place to stay, it again just lacked that touch of thoughtfulness that would make a big difference. Given that this is billed as a luxury apartment, it was disappointing that the main room (with sofa bed) has a big internal A/C unit, which is noisy and not wonderfully efficient AND the actual bedroom HAS NO A/C - instead the staff member who took us to the annex explained that we should plug a freestanding fan in and 'blow the cold air into the bedroom!'. Frankly, quite astonishing given the July heat of Rome. We did complain about the inadequacy of this but the front desk never got back to us - again inconsistent with the intended luxury experience. The rooms are also lit by spotlights - one in each corner of each room - giving the impression of being at a sporting event rather than a relaxing hotel suite. And in the process generating lots of heat! There were two uplighter lamps but only one of these worked. The bedside lights, while being very fashionable, cast next to no light and were certainly impossible to read by when the spotlights were off. We booked the apartment which is part of the hotel but not in the hotel.....this was well below the 5 star standard. I would say more like 3 star...v disappointing indeed. My wife and I stayed for three nights and found the hotel amazing. The staff were all wonderful, helpfull, and friendly. "Horrible place to stay!"
The "apartment suite" as they called it was a joke. We couldn't just sit outside as they had no benches or anything. I was supposed to have 2 rooms one with a king bed and one with a double. Instead we had 1 room with a double bed in it and a pull out couch for the kids right when you walk into the room. Also this hotel does not like to restock the […] necessities such as toilet paper! We had to go out and buy our own. The room did have a stove which we thought due to the expensiveness of restaurants in Rome would be good however the room had no pots or pans to cook with so the stove top was never used. It was not at all a good place to say,it says that it overlooks the coloseum but only the hotel does, we couldn't even see it at the place we stayed in. Won't go back there again. "Great Hotel but pricey in restaurant!!"
Lovely hotel - clean and good standard. Even though its location is superb being right opposite the collosseum, it is in quite a quiet area which for us was great but may not suit everyone. The only disappointment about this hotel, which is why i havent given it full marks, is the cost of items in the restaurant. We went to the restaurant on the first […] day, only to find that our bill came to 16 euros - we had only ordered a tea and a coffee.
