This hotel is located in convenient area close to the central station and cleaner than I had expected. The arrangement of Wifi connection is a little unique and inconvenient (the guest has to get a username and passcode for each one hour connection), but acceptable if your trip is not for business.

The hotel was in a very convenient location so that we could easily walk back and forth to the train station. It was a little farther into the city sights but we didn't have a problem with that because it gave us a chance to view more of the city. The main issue we had was they only allowed 1 hour per day of internet unless you choose to purchase more […] time, and the bathroom door was located right at the foot of the bed which I felt was a strange location since most bathrooms are located in the front of the room to make a hallway and not disturb the sleeping space. Hotel is very close to train station and the city has signs pointing out hotels but the signage for this hotel is "Europa Hotel". I was looking for "ZanHotel" so we walked a lot to find it. The room and bathroom were clean and more westernized than some other hotels we stayed in in Italy. The Hotel Europa is a large, clean, fairly modern hotel. Bathrooms are very large for a European hotel. Service was good but not particularly friendly. Buffet breakfast was excellent. A good value and a convenient location - close to the train station.

Hotel Europe in Bologna was more than I expected. While it is a four-star hotel, the rate that I paid was closer to a three-star rate. I was pleasantly surprised to find a an elegant hotel. Service was professional and traveler friendly.

we just stayed here for one night - we are yearly visitors to Bologna and usualy fly into Bologna and then train down to Rimini for MotoGp or World Superbikes.. and have stayed at a few hotels here and this is certainly one of the best - very tidy room and wonderful washroom/shower - it was huge.. comfy room/beds.. no view though as we were at the back […] - but there would not be a veiw at the front though either as you are in the centre of town - - the main train station is just four minutes walk and from there you can get the bus to/from the airport and trains across Italy.. Zanhotel Europa is labelled a 4* hotel but we felt it couldn't have been more than a 3*. The hotel looked very grand when we first walked in but the lifts, hallways and even the rooms were not done up as well as the reception area and, although relatively clean, did not look fresh. We were placed in a room with no view and massive windows that connected […] onto the same terrace shared by at least 10 other rooms - a huge security issue if you (like me) are someone who likes to sleep with the windows open usually. A huge problem was the fact that walls were PAPER THIN. I could hear our next door neighbours' conversations word for word. Breakfast was OK but nothing spectacular - with a 4* rating I woudl have expected fresh hot breakfast, but it was mainly cold with some very stagnant looking scrambled eggs as an option. Location was really good - walking distance from Via dell Independenza which is central, busy and gets you to many of the main tourist attractions. As it was about a 5-10 min walk from the major sites, the restaurants in teh hotel surroundings were much more reasonably priced and we felt the food was better also. This hotel was very disappointing. My collegues room was full of mould and had a bad stench. My room was not much better. My main complaint about this hotel is the staff, they are extremely lazy and rude, a combination not so good for hoteliers. I would not recommend this hotel. Hotel was comfortable with good sized room and full breakfast. Hotel parking lot across street was 15E/night. Staff was not very helpful but did speak English. Location convenient for access into/outside the city via car and a 10 min walk to downtown. One problem: it was a cold week in may and we did have difficulty getting the heater to work.

Beliggende lige inden for den nordlige bygrænse er der ca. 10-15 min. gang til centrum. Udmærket morgenmadsbuffet. Der er ingen restaurant på hotellet til de øvrige måltider. Et hotel som jeg gerne anbefaler til andre på grund af et godt pris/kvalitetsforhold. Hotellet fremstår flot og velholdt.

Hotellet ligger väldigt nära stationen och då vi kom med tåg var det praktiskt. På 15-20 minuters promenad kom man till alla centrala sevärdheter i stadskärnan och man gick på vackra gator i Bolognias arkader. Hotellet var stort och rummen var också stora. Var nog riktigt fint för ca 25 år sedan även om det inte finns något at klaga på mer än lite konstig doft o badrummet. Låg nära cetralen men en bit ifrån centrum. Frukosten var ok.
