"Amazing Location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Na Balam got some underserved poor scores. The location happened to be the best location on the island (as far as beaches go), and fairly convenient to excitement of down town. The grounds were spectacular, and for such a reasonable price. Front desk and beach bar staff were not amazing, but not bad either. They could do some training on customer service in order to make it a more magical experience, but all in all, it was acceptable service.
"great deal for your money"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
Fantastic deal for your money. The confirmation from hotels.com said that our room had ocean, pool and garden view.... it didn't. The view was just trees. We had booked a king size bed but got 2 queens instead so that was disappointing but over all a great place. Men need to bring long pants if you're planning on eating in the a'la cart restaurants. The buffets are great, a'la cart is ok.

I loved the hotel and the service is wonderful, however I was really disappointed in the beach. We had to travel to another Palace resort to swim in the ocean and take pictures. But that is my only complaint.

The Cancun Hotel Zone rests on a slit of land bound by a lagoon and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Sunseekers crowd the white-sand beaches. At night, the action moves to the restaurants, clubs, and bars that line Boulevard Kukulcán, the area’s main artery. This road passes by the El Rey ruins, believed to be a king’s tomb.

"Clean but in need of upgrade"
Relative to some of the other hotels in the area about average, pool area a little small and surroundings and hotel decor a little dated, restaurant options on site a little limited, adequate for the price.
Unless you book the 1 bedroom suite the room is small with no amenities. This facility is actually a timeshare condominium so there are no ice machines, no shampoo provided. Only towels an a bar of soap. The pools are great and the bech is also excellent. For the price and a short 1 or 2 night stay it was OK but not for an exteneded stay
"great place to stay"
this place is a wonderful place to stay with your family
"Safe bet"
This is a safe bet for a couple or a family. Rooms were minimal, but easily sufficient. Wireless internet and TV, nice bathroom, nice balcony. Refrigerator, microwave, iron, coffee pot. Only odd/unexpected thing was that there was no soap/shampoo; easily explained when we realized this is a "resort" not a "hotel"??? Bring your own! Food was great and […] I imagine if I had brought my 2 kids they would have found lots to do in the amazing pools/ocean and lots to eat. After 3 days I think they (7 and 10) would have been bored though. Also stayed at another resort in Mexico during the same stay--food was AWFUL!!!! I hear that good food is something that either makes or breaks the trip to Mexico-I can believe it. One thing to know is that there are 3 hotels in a row and you can use you room key (the way everything is paid for) at any of the 3 hotels...gives you a little more variety. Read more
"4 nights at the Islander"
We originally booked a room here, but on arrival were disappointed in the room -- very small and with two double beds rather than our requested king size bed. Also the balcony was unusable, barely enough room to stand, with no room for chairs. We immediately upgraded to a one bedroom suite which was much, much nicer. The double balcony was equipped […] with a table and chairs -- perfect for breakfast -- and lounge chairs. The view was tremendous, we overlooked the pool and the ocean and were far enough up (4th floor) to not hear much noise from the pool area. The beach was nice and not very crowded during our stay (Nov 14-18). We didn't eat in the restaurants. We drank margaritas at the bar next to the pool during happy hour, they were good. We highly recommend the ferry to Isla Mujeres and a day at the beach there. Read more
"The Royal Islander - Perfecto!"

The beds were very uncomfortable. Very hard, no padding. Otherwise the room was lovely. Would highly recommend this resort.
"The Royal Islander in Cancun"
Not really a hotel, the appartments are owned by private members, customers are mostly in the 45-60 years old range (I was there in mid November). Wonderful beach and pool/sea view from the room, customers mostly from North America, food and drinks are not cheap, typical for Cancun. Possibility to snorkel in Punta Nizuc, but that's quite a long walk […] on the beach (3km?). I quite enjoy my stay there (3 nights), but wouldn't pay the full price for a room in high season. "Great apartments for families"
This place was great for an apartment with fantastic views, pools and direct access to the beautiful beach. Supplied games from the sports club and even had decent quality tennis racquets for a good match. Shop a bit pricey, but what do you expect. Reasurants on site quite good and informal, so great for kids. We'd go back.
Royal Islander"
Read more
"Hotel Royal Islander - Cancun"
Read more

"Hotel pour 1 nuit"
Grand complexe impersonnel.

"Satisfied with the commitment of the Hotel"
When we arrived at the hotel we were informed that we have booked a room at Royal Islander but they would send us to Royal Caribbean, which was the building next to Royal Islander. We dont know the reason, but we suspect that the room we have booked was all occupied and they decided to send us to a better room. When we arrived at the room, we were very […] impressed as the room was much bigger than we thought, with a huge living room and kitchen. We are satisfied with the commitment of the hotel as they did not just send us to a smaller room. Read more
