"Spacious and quiet"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Worth the drive up the hill... The 2 room suite was perfect..
"Very Nice"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
The suites are very nice and comfortable and breakfast was awesome as they always are at Embassy Suites. I have 2 complaints. They did not have self service parking only valet parking which cost an extra and no free wifi in the rooms.

Room was very clean and the location was convenient to South Lake activities. Would definitely stay there again.

"Can't beat the location."
Our room was clean and comfortable and the fitness room was decent but the best thing about this place was its location right on the outskirts of Squaw Village and at the base of one of the chair lifts. Would go back in a heartbeat if it was more affordable. I guess you get what you pay for.

"Great Location for Ski Vacation"
A great hotel for skiing located right by the ski lift at Squaw Valley overall clean and friendly hotel with sufficient amenities. Great value for the price paid.

"Nice Hotel, Location, Amenities"
We stayed there for 2 nights with our 2.5 year son. The condo was nice, the flow inside was real good with nice kitchen and living area. Also, you can directly walk outside your room and building to the base of the ski area. The village is nice with nice foods, liked the Fire House pizza a lot. They have one of the best serving glass for water and soft […] drinks, see it yourself. The hotel lounge is nicely decorated with two separate areas, so if you are enjoying a drink, you don't get bothered by the TV or Table Tennis table on the other side. Overall a nice stay in Tahoe. The Fanny Bridge is hardly 20 minutes and the walking trail near the hotel is nice for a stroll or biking. Read more
"Quiet Getaway"
We stayed here for a quick, one night getaway and loved it. The grounds are beautiful and quiet. The location is perfect! We walked to the shops and restaurants nearby. Everything you need is walking distance. The pool and spa are nice too. The room was clean and had a nice kitchenette. We will stay here again for sure.

"squaw valley lodge"
Amazing location! step out to the slopes or walk a beautiful stream a block away. Great pools and gym However for this price I would hope the hotel could have a working T.V., updated furnishings and decor and more knowledgeable people at the front desk. (they sent us to a restaurant that had been closed for remodeling)
The only problem we had here was the bed was VERY uncomfortable. They upgraded our room for free and it was great. The location was great and the staff was very friendly and had lots of great suggestions for restaurants. The bed issue may have just been in our room. Overall loved it though.
"The Squaw Valley Lodge"
The ski resort was preparing for the ski season so there was a bit of construction noise during the day, but not too obtrusive. Spacious mountain side room with kitchette. Well kept steam room, sauna, jacuzzis and pool.
"Close to Village; Big Rooms"
Nice enough, with big rooms, and a 1-block walk to the village. It's not luxurious by any means, but it's nice and clean. A great option right in Squaw valley.

"Over Rated"
It's a shame that this property is priced at such a premium and is so sadly outdated and poorly maintained. The location easily justifies the price point for the rooms but it still falls well short of expectations. Moreover, it lacks basic amenities now considered standard by many other properties today. Despite the great location, I'd discourage a […] friend from booking here. Read more

"Squaw Valley Lodge - A beautiful setting"
We loved everything about it. Not only was the room great, but it was within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Our family is already talking about staying there again soon.
"Squaw Valley Lodge in the Summer"
Perfect hotel for a family vacation. Great location. We loved that restaurants and great hiking trails were just 50 yards from our room. The pool and hot tub were also a hit with the kids. We would definitely stay here again.
"Squaw Valley Lodge, Squaw Valley, CA"
Great location. Very friendly customer service. Great facilities. Perfect for summer and winter getaway. I'll go back.
"A Loft at Squaw Valley Lodge"
I arrived at my room with my two kids (my son 11 years old and my daughter 9 years old) about 2 hours before check-in. We were greeted at the reception desk and was told we could check into our rooms now. That was a nice start. My kids and I were also very pleasantly surprised at how spacious and clean the entire "room" was (I think the website stated […] about 900sq ft which was perfect for us). The rather large room consisted of a kitchenette (full size stove & refrigerator, along with some cooking utensils and pots etc), a dining area and an area for watching TV. This room had 2 comfortable chairs and a sofa bed. There was also a Murphy bed between the dining area and TV viewing area. There was also a nice, clean bathroom by the front door that had a oval tub and double sinks. Upstairs was a rather roomy loft with a king sized bed and a shower stall with two shower heads in it. The loft bedroom also had a small area with a chair to watch TV. I was disappointed that both TVs (in the main room downstairs and the one in the loft bedroom) were small-ish sized TVs (old analog ~20", 4x3 format - not wide screen), most hotels I have been to recently have all gone to at least 32 inch, digital wide screen HDTVs. The TVs were connected to DirecTV, but on some channels the reception was pretty "snowy", though still watchable. One other disappointment was that the toilets are the "low-flow" kind and thus had a difficult time flushing toilet paper (although #1 & #2 went down just fine!). Overall the accommodations were very nice. I think the lodge was booked full, but we did not notice too much noise from inside our room, which overlooked the swimming area (2 spas and a decent sized pool). The nice thing about the location of this lodge is that it is within easy walking distance to many family friendly activities and restaurants. I would definitely stay at this lodge again and would easily recommend it to my friends and family. Read more
"excellent summer stay"
I was deciding between squaw valley lodge and the village at squaw valley. Once I got there I knew I made the right choice in squaw valley lodge. We had the three bedroom condo. It was clean, spacious, and quite pleasant. The only bad was the wall to wall carpeting in the bathroom (unhygenic) but aside from that a nice stay. Friendly too.
It was a nice location, easy to get to squaw village, my daughter loved it. Her favorite part was that the hotel room smelled like cinnamon. Nice view of the mountains from our window. A yoga festival was going on and we got to see all the tents and activities. Overall a great experience we will go there again.
"Squaw Valley Lodge - perfect location"
I will definantly stay at the Squaw Valley Lodge again. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the hotel was clean and I loved staying in the village. The beds were comfortable and I liked having a kitchen in our room.
"GREAT place for family vacation!"
We have stayed here several times before with places with a small kitchen. This room we stayed in was a studio without a kitchen but still had refrigerator and microwave. It worked with two kids. The staff is very accomodating and the lodge is located within a small village so you can walk to restaurants, family activities, and shops.
"Squaw Valley Lodge"
Stayed 3 nights over the 4th of July 2011, had an excellent stay with knowledgeable friendly staff
"Ouch!!!!!"
The bed is old and worn out. If you want to relax in the room and watch a movie good luck the couch is not comfortable for two. Make sure you bring your wallet the village is not cheap for anything. We were very disappointed. We were there off season the place was almost empty. But they still put us in a middle floor room with noisey people running […] around upstairs. If you have money to burn stay here if not LOOK around more and plan on driving around the lake. Read more
"Squaw Valley Condo"
This is a beautiful condo at the foot of the major ski slopes in Squaw Valley. We stayed here in the off-season so the price was right and the stay very quiet and peaceful, except for the croaking frogs in the pond outside. Nature trails, restaurants, and boutique shops were a short walk away. The room was some distance from the parking garage and the […] halls were long and dorm-like. But the views, the room and amenities including free morning coffee, fitness room, and sauna made our stay a high-point of our California vacation. Our one suggestion would be to provide instructions on how to turn on the water to the tub/shower because the controls worked differently than most. Read more
"Snow on Memorial Day"
Great hotel. The staff during check in seemed more interested in socializing amongst themselves than helping out people waiting in line.

"Time to update"
Overall a decent place to stay. We were lucky enough to pay a reasonable rate. It was end of the season on a off weekend. However I know at peak it is way over priced. Location is second to none. The village is great place to hang. The room was clean and comfortable, but out dated. This was very apparent in the bathroom. Old fixture and tile. Little […] frig needed to be replace as did the couch. Service wasn't good, but wasn't bed either. We would stay here again....For the right price. Read more
"Squaw Vallye Lodge"
This is a great lodge for skiers with family. Nothing beats it. It is so nice to have home cooked lunch. And just leave your skis in front porch when done skiing for day.
"Great stay. Great deal"
Really enjoyed our stay at the Squaw Valley Lodge. Location is superb and amenities are great. Room was a tiny bit dated, but was well maintained and very clean. Our efficiency condo was plenty big for 4 people and the well appointed kitchen and dining area would make it easy to prepare meals in the room. The staff was very helpful and provided everything […] we needed. Read more
"Great location for skiing and village amenities"
Very accommodating staff. Rooms were nice. Quick walk to lifts and village. There was so much snow I could literally ski to the front door of the hotel at day's end but typically it would be a very quick walk. I would stay here again for sure.

"Squaw Valley Lodge"
You can't beat the location. We skied to the lift from our room and walked to PlumJack for dinner. Our room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.
"Squaw Valley Lodge"
Fabulous location, excellent staff, high quality accomodations - would recommend it highly to anyone who likes skiing. Ski in/ski out location can not be beat and Squaw is the best skiing in the entire Tahoe area. Only negatives were (a) the pullout bed in the living room was mightly uncomfortable; and (b) the snow grooming machines go pretty much […] all night and are noisy and kept us awake at 3 am. "Squaw Valley Lodge"
A great place to stay. We were able to check in before noon. The facilities and rooms were up to date, clean and comfortable. I would definetly stay there again and would recommend it to my friends.
"Old hotel"
The village at Squaw valley has better layout and furnishings for the same price.
