"Not handicapp accesible as advertised."
You advertised this place as handicapp accessible and it was not. I had to move furniture around to accommodate my husbands wheelchair and in the bathroom he bruised his right leg badly,he has paralysis on his right side. His wheelchair was damaged due to the door entrance, his chair barely fit.

"Best place to stay hands down!"
Supreme location with great views!! The bed was comfortable, and the one bedroom suite was more than we could have asked for. Spacious, plenty of seating, nice fridge, awesome layout (the kids loved that they could run all the way around the room), close to eating and the Aerial Tram. The hotel staff had the crib waiting for us in our room, and the engineer came at 9pm to figure out why our blinds wouldn't go down. We'll be staying here again in the future! (Gave it a rating of 4 on the condition because one of the plugs didn't work, and there were two little screens not in the windows, so we couldn't leave them open.)

"Great family weekend"
We stayed for 2 nights on a family trip. The beds were comfortable and the two bathrooms were clean and we'll appointed. The kids loved the pool and jacuzzi. There is a club with tennis courts which was also fun. Proximity to tram and village activities was a plus. No restaurant onsite, but The restaurants in the village offered great variety. Particularly recommend Auld Dubliner for families with kids. Will stay here again.

"Happy customers"
Our stay was nice and welcoming. We stayed in a studio condominium. It was spacious and had everything you needed. It could be updated a bit such as the bed, bedding, couch, bathroom, and kitchenette. Our view overlooked the pool. I liked that there were so many hot tubs both indoor and outdoor. The staff was very friendly both on the phone and in person. They called to tell us our room was ready since we were trying to check in early. They were able to store our mountain bikes for us.

This would be a nice place for families or vacation. Its not great for the business traveler. The rooms are cute, very clean, but the beds are Murphy Beds. Not the most comfortable, however again for a vacationer, its great giving more room for a family. BTW..there is no air conditioning for summer months. Not a lot of restaurant choices in area.

Wonderful hotel the scenery was breath taking. All of the comforts of home plus.Only one problem no air conditioning. "Nice place, some improvements needed"
We have stayed at Squaw before and would stay again. Enjoyed the pool and ping pong. Love the shops and restaurants that are in walking distance. Sofa sleeper was uncomfortable. The hotel ran out of the complementary coffee early both mornings of our stay. Could be improved by having free cookies or fruit. Hallways feel like dormatories and could use some art or color. We rode our bikes from Squaw towards Tahoe City. Great bike paths! Beautiful mountains and scenary surrounding the hotel. We didn't appreiciate the $22 per day resort fee however.

"Okay but Toasty in Summer"
I was there for one night with my son who loves to swim. The pool was nice but the room had no air conditioning. It was a hot night in June, so we were a little uncomfortable. I called the front desk and they said, open the window and use the portable fan in the closet. There wasn't a fan in the closet.

"Not worth the money!!"
Ha...I didn't know there were hotels built in America without air conditioning, but this is one!! Yes, that's right. No A/C. Oh, they provide a single oscillating fan for your entire condo. I actually saw guests leaving with their own fans. They must have gone shopping for fans, because I can't imagine that anyone would actually travel with a full size box fan.

"Beautiful location, Rip off Amenities!"
Hotel was beautiful and located near restaurants and activities within walking distance. Did not appreciate having to pay $66 for amenities - coffee, internet, gym, saunas. This is normally included in the price of a hotel of this price range. I have never had to pay for these services before this experience. The coffee was gone by 10:00 on Sunday morning so basically I paid $66 for 1 cup of coffee and internet access.

"Great, but....."
Really an overall good experience. The room was older, but very clean. The facilities are great: outdoor pool, 2 outdoor hot tubs, three indoor hot tubs, sauna, steam room, tennis courts, and a nice parking garage. Washer and dryer facilities for guest use. The bedding was very good and the mini-kitchen was great! The firs few days were very enjoyable and relaxing until a family of four moved in above me. The noise of people walking and kids running and jumping was terrible. Try to get a top floor room, or a room in one of the smaller newer buildings.

"Great location with a great staff"
The Squaw Valley Lodge is located right next to Squaw Valley Village and the ski resort. We were on the third floor, the ski tram would go over our building (it's very quiet and cool to watch). Our room was very comfortable, we had a kitchen and separate bedroom. The next time we're going to rent a room with a fireplace...missed that on cold nights after skiing. There is no restaurant in the lodge but it's a 5 minute walk to the village, where you'll find plenty of choices. Covered parking was nice, didn't have to clean off the car.

"Great hotel, subpar room."
I've stayed at the Squaw Valley Lodge several times before and always have a nice time. The location is perfect, and they often have the lowest prices (for a near village hotel) around. But we stayed in the particular room we were assigned before, and it's not our favorite. These are condos, and each room is decorated differently. In this room, the decor isn't really to our liking (its very 80's/90's modern looking and not the mountain decor we expect in a Tahoe hotel.) Also, the bed's headboard creeks. So every time one of us moved in bed, it woke us up. I eventually had to put a pillow in between the wall and the headboard to support it better. An lastly, we found a pair of dirty panties, presumably from the rooms last guest, in between the wall and the wardrobe. Kinda gross. We love this hotel, and will definitely come back. The rest of the room, and facility were very clean. But I will ask for another room if we are assigned this one again!

"Excellent family ski logde"
We stayed with our 2 kids for a long ski weekend. Great lodge, easy walking in ski boots to lifts/tram to beginner area. Intermediate skiers can ski back to condo! It is right next to Squaw Village which has multiple restaurants, coffee and shops. No driving needed. The building is older but spotless clean and nice furnishings. The 4 of us stayed in loft condo with 2 queens and a pull out couch. Very comfy. I laughed at a prior review about the water being hot but OMG it really was scalding. Careful if you have small kids. Hot tub great. I booked last minute and was concerned but it was awesome and will stay here again! Lots of families.

"Always Enjoy our staying at Squaw Valley Lodge"
We always enjoy our stay at Squaw Valley Lodge and would highly recommend it. Nothing fancy but good value for what you get and just steps away from the lifts at Squaw Valley Resort. Close to the Squaw Valley Village. We have stay at this Lodge a number of times and enjoyed it ever time. One word of warning if you get a Mountain view room that is right next to the ski run you may have noise from the snow cats grooming the mountain or from the snow making equipment. We stayed for three night last of President weekend and had significant noise from snow Cats on the Friday Night and then also significant noise from the snow making equipment on Sunday night. The other rooms in the hotel are uneffected by this noise as in the past we have never experience this until we had a room that was right next to the ski run.

"Good location, outdated rooms"
The location being right in the village at squaw is great, but the hotel is very dated. Everything seems to be from the 80's. The bed was really uncomfortable, and the pillows on the couch had a bad odor that was mildewy and we left them on the floor. This property has so much potential, but really needs to be renovated. I would recommend spending a few more bucks to stay at the Village at Squaw or the Resort at Squaw Creek over this property.

"3 min walk to Tram, then ski down the slopes!"
Squaw Valley Lodge is an excellent location for getting on the slopes. No need to load up the car and be all hot and sweaty just driving to the ski area, you can just walk out your door and across a little snow and then hop on the Funitel or Tram and be skiing down the hills in minutes. The lobby at the Lodge is welcoming and personnel were all very nice and "chill" as my teenage daughters said. We spent a lot of time playing ping pong and had a great time! The fitness area is a good size with enough equipment to get a good workout or recovery workout from a day of skiing. The room was as described and did have a fully stocked kitchen. I was able to cook most of our meals-eggs and toast for breakfast and pasta with salad for dinner. The only negative was the food smells in the condo hallways. We are planning on going back this winter!

We were very pleased with our stay. I wouldn't consider this a "hotel" in the traditional sense, but it was great accommodations for our ski vacation. We got a 2 bedroom suite which was prefect accommodations. Pretty basic, not luxurious, but very practical and great for us and 2 kids.
