We recently returned from the Hilton Hotel Barbados. The hotel itself was very large, clean and grand. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The only crit is the food was not up to scratch. The beakfast were good and luncg at the pool bar nice good variety but evening food poor and quite expensive. Would recommend Pices at the Gap or the resturaunts on the West Coast same price and distance in a taxi (around £20 US Dollars and 15 Mins)

Very nice hotel, clean and well decorated, was very happy with it except for the limited choice of vegetarion food available at the restaurants/room service menu. Also, if u need to change money, don't wait till you get to the hotel - they offered a rate that was 25% worse than the banks.

My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Barbados in August. Our trip was very pleasant - the hotel is well run and convenient, especially compared to some others on the island who offer local charm but a lower level of comfort. We had a few small issues which were very well attended to by the very professional General Manager, Leroy Browne. We are very impressed with Mr. Browne and his effective management. Our advice would be to ask for turn-down service if you wish to receive bottled water in your room - this service is not standard but available free of charge upon request.

I was very pleased with my hotel accommodations at Hilton Barbados. The room was very clean and had a wonderful view of the beach and pool areas. The desk personel and dinning room area were very helpful. The comfort of the room was so outstanding that I requested for the same room on my return from my 15 day cruise.

They had just switched to a new computer system when we were there and it took 45 minutes just to check in, and then they didn't have the room available that we booked. They put us in a smaller room and did not make any kind of compensation. Hopefully the technical difficulties have been corrected by now. There are also very few restaurants within walking distance. Expect to pay for a cab to take you to eat. And it was cheaper to take a cab from the airport than taking the airport shuttle. The price seemed to depend on the driver and the taxi prices were negotiable. Other than that, the quality is what you would expect from the Hilton.

My husband and I really enjoyed our 8 day stay at the Hilton Barbados. The Pros - Excellent value compared to some of the hotels we scoped out on the West Coast. - Excellent service. Anytime we needed anything the employees at the hotel were prompt, resourceful and curteous. The tour desk employees are extremely helpful and personable and willing to provide inside information on where to eat and which tours are worth it. Loved the nightly turn-down service which included chocolates and bottled water. - LOVE the executive lounge. Pay for the upgrade, it's worth it. The continental breakfast is great plus the nightly cocktail / appitizer hour is a great way to unwind before heading out to dinner. Also, the room provides free access to the internet, a well stocked fruit bowl througout the day, and cookies at 3:00. - Great access to the beach and 3 pools - Top of the line Precor gym equipment and tennis courts where they provide you with rackets and tennis balls - Ocean front views from the terrace in each room are amazing - Very family friendly. There is a kiddie pool and well stocked bin of pool toys - Free shopping shuttle 2x daily to downtown Bridgetwon The Cons - With the exception of Brown Sugar and an amazing Roti place, very few restaurants are within walking distance. Be prepared to pay for a $15-20 taxi ride each way for to meals. - The food at the hotelis both pricey and leaves some to be desired. The hamburgers and fries are clearly frozen and their pizza is awful. - If you are looking for a party scene, this is probably not the right hotel for you. While the hotel did host some BBQs and have happy hour specials, the hotel caters more to business guests, families and quieter vacationing couples.

If you are going to barbados ... this is the place to stay. I have been at a number of hotels in barbados ... so I know what I am talking about. Food is pricey ... but then again it is everywhere. Excellent for families! I will go again!
