Located on level nine in the health club/pool area, Chuan Spa offers seven treatment rooms, men’s and women’s dressing areas with locker facilities, separate steam rooms and saunas, and private rooms for post-treatment relaxation.
In Chinese, chuan means “flowing water” and represents the rebirth and rebalancing of the entire being. Chuan Spa is a place designed to create an ambience of tranquility for contemplation and inspiration. Treatments aim to nurture, heal, and restore, and use products that represent the Five Elements: wood, earth, metal, fire, and water. To this end, guests are asked to complete a brief lifestyle elemental questionnaire before each treatment in order to determine which treatments suit their needs.
Peaceful Glow (1 hour): AU$130
This peaceful facial treatment is designed to smooth away stress and nourish dry complexions. A warm thermal-infusing mask combines the benefits of lemon verbena with protein extracts to soothe and nourish.
Fee may not include tax and is subject to change without notice.
Muddy Elements (1 hour, 30 minutes): AU$180
Integrating the Five Chinese Elements into five signature mud mixtures, this treatment is designed to nurture the senses. Starting with a warm oil and herbal salt exfoliation to stimulate the skin, it includes an elemental mud body wrap, which allows essential oils to infuse the skin. It also includes a scalp massage, facial cleanse, and a full body mist followed by application of hydrating lotion.
Fee may not include tax and is subject to change without notice.
Herbal Salt Scrub (30 minutes): AU$70
This warm oil and herbal salt combination treatment provides a deep-cleansing and exfoliating experience designed to revitalize the skin by enhancing circulation. A unique blend of mint and ginger uplifts the spirit and nourishes the body.
Fee may not include tax and is subject to change without notice.
Reflexology (1 hour): AU$125
Reflexology is an ancient Chinese medicine technique that uses pressure-point massage on the feet and hands to restore the flow of energy and promote relaxation and healing throughout the entire body.
Fee may not include tax and is subject to change without notice.
Remedial Massage (90 minutes): AU$180
This massage has positive short- and long-term effects on the body and encourages the process of healing. It is particularly effective for the natural treatment of stress-related conditions.
Fee may not include tax and is subject to change without notice.
Chuan Harmony Massage (1 hour): AU$145
Designed to stimulate median harmony, this treatment combines the therapeutic elements of acupressure with various relaxation massage techniques to induce a deep sense of calm.
Fee may not include tax and is subject to change without notice.
Chuan Stone Therapy (90 minutes): AU$200
This treatment aims to balance the yin and yang energies through the use of hot (yang) and cold (yin) stones. The hot stones increase body circulation and assist immune function by removing waste products. The cold stones calm internal heat, assist acute injury recovery, and increase mental alertness.
Fee may not include tax and is subject to change without notice.
Chuan Senses (2 hours, 30 minutes): AU$350
This pampering package is designed to awaken the senses by combining all the well-being elements of the ocean and marine minerals. It begins with a stress-relieving scalp massage and application of a hydrating hair mask infused with essential oils of jasmine, clary sage, and sandalwood. It concludes with a calming aromatherapy facial.
Fee may not include tax and is subject to change without notice.
Chuan Escape Package (2 hours, 30 minutes): AU$360
This package promotes deep relaxation and radiant skin. It begins with a gentle Evening Primrose Oil body polish to exfoliate and cleanse, then an elemental chuan full-body mud mask is applied. A Chinese acupressure scalp massage promotes meridian harmony before warm water is poured over the body. The treatment concludes with a full-body aromatherapy massage.
Fee may not include tax and is subject to change without notice.
In addition to the signature Langham Chuan Spa products, the spa uses and sells options from the Thalgo skincare line, which draws inspiration from the marine environment.

The Langham was a wonderful choice for our stay in Melbourne. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms tastefully decorated and comfortable, and the service outstanding. We made frequent use of concierges Peter and Glenn and they never disappointed. Their knowledge of the area increased greatly our enjoyment of Melbourne and their friendliness and senses of humor always brightened our day. Do yourself a favor when you stay here and rely on their advice. This was our first stay in a Langham property and it will not be our last.

The website doesn't do justice to the incredible location of this great Melbourne hotel. Located on the southbank of the Yarra river on top of a three level mall loaded with restaurants and just a short walk across the bridge from the center of town, the Langham quickly became our favorite hotel in Australia. You can easily get anywhere in the city from this location and it is a walker's paradise. A beautiful, classy hotel!
