"A Great Hotel in Trastevere"
The only reason for the 4 in room comfort was, that I could never get the temperature right on the shower. Beyond that, this is a great little hotel in a wonderful location. We would especially like to thank Splendora, the desk person during the day. She was tremendously friendly, communicative, caring and a font of knowledge. "5 star Hotel"
Traveling from the United States we didn't know what to expect. When we arrived we were very pleased with the close proximity to the tram and bus. This hotel is top class. The hotel is extremely clean, air conditioned, and well furnished. The breakfast buffet is 5 star and try some expresso. What separated this hotel from many others is the staff. "Comfortable and convenient!"
As promised by positive reviews, we found the hotel comfortable and conveniently located. The friendly staff (for example Mana, who checked us in) deserve special praise. Convenient location across street from bus stop. Travel time by bus to most tourist sites about 20 minutes or less. We had a family room for four and it was very small. Just enough room to walk between furniture. Beds were firm but we found comfortable. Shower very tight, don't drop the soap there's no room to bend down! Breakfast was good:juice, fruit, breads, pastries, eggs, meats, cheese. […] Coffee from machine or you could order from bar. Apparently not all reservations include breakfast though. No problem communicating with staff. Front desk very nice & helpful. Huge flea market across street on Sunday. Lots of great restaurants within 10min walk as well as nightly entertainment. "Beautiful and clean"
Beds and pillows are wonderful. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room is good size for Europe. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the shower size but it is a fancy shower with jets all over. Extremely happy with this hotel. Great location and the staff was absolutely great. We rented out one of the spas for 90 minutes after a long day at the ruins and that was the icing on the cake - steam room, sauna, large hot tub, wine and clean! "Perfect Travestere hotel!!"
Loved the Trilussa! Good price for what u get, which is a total 5 star hotel. Super easy to get to, right on a bus and tram line, but far enough away from the major tourist traps to feel like ur seeing more of Rome than just the highlights. Colosseum, pantheon, Vatican all no more than a 7-10min bus/tram ride away, and a ten min walk to all of the great […] places to eat in travestere. Room was very nice, clean and well taken care of, breakfast is included and was good quality and plenty of it. My two favorites about the hotel though were definitely the rooftop bar, which is perfect to relax and just checkout Rome from, and the staff. The staff and customer service was outstanding, was traveling all over Europe for two weeks and the Trilussa staff was by far the friendliest and most helpful! "Trilussa Palace - Very Niceaaaa!!! :)"
We absolutely loved the Trilussa Palace. Great Hotel. Rome can be a fast paced city and a bit hectic and the hotel is located off the beaten path in the Trastevere area where you can find great places to eat, good food and awesoem prices. Not too far of a walk to the Vatican. We were able to see the main sights of Rome and then return to the quaint […] area and enjy some authentic Italian Food and great conversation with people in the area. The Hotel Staff was very friendly - the laides at the front desk were Nice aaaaa (I love the way they talk :) and they helped us with directions and recommendations and the guy that helped us with our luggage, i thought his name was Donnie but its not - i forgot but it begins with a D - really cool guy. (Molte Grazie por tutti D - especially for helping us park our car). Great sense of humor. The Hotel is elegent, there is a SPA center if you have time to use it, very nice. I worked out in the Gym twice (small but has everything you need). We will be back - Thanks again for the great experience. Ciao Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Perfect choice! Charming Hotel"
Great hotel, we really enjoyed our travel experience. Front desk staff were superb - from the help we received on the phone before we arrived to providing directions and dining recommendations within Rome. The location of this hotel is awesome - we flew in to Rome and took a train to the hotel. From the train station it is a 2 minute tram ride or a […] 5 minute walk (do the tram, walking with luggage is no fun). The stop for the tram is right outside the hotel and connects you to the Rome city centre within 5 minutes. The bed and pillows were very comfortable (we had two twins put together which equalled our queen bed from home). The rooms were quiet, very clean and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was the only thing we might rate lower than a 5, maybe a 3-4. Service in the dining hall was great, but the food was so-so, though not a big enough deal to make us dissatisfied. We would definitely return to this hotel again and highly recommend it to others. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We had just experienced our best trip yet, and it all began with our hotel experience. Being new to the city, the hotel staff showed us how to get around and the best tourist attractions to see. They can also book the attraction tours which makes things a whole lot easier! The location of the hotel was perfect! The autorrail is located outside the hotel […] which takes you near the pantheon and you can purchase the 75mins ticket at the front desk! "Best Hotel in Rome"
I stayed in five different hotels on my recent trip to Italy, and this was, by far, the best accommodations, the best staff, and the best room size of any of them. The hotel's front desk could not have been nicer...they gave wonderful advice for how to get around on the tram, and also excellent suggestions for nearby restaurants. Don't let the outside […] of the hotel fool you. Once you step inside, you will understand why it's called Trilussa Palace. My only criticism would have to be the shower. Too small and too many gadgets for me. A nice, simple shower is what I like. "Great quality/price/location at Hotel Trilussa!"
As our family arrived far too early for check-in time, we were offered to take an apartment instead. After having viewed it, it was an easy choice: 2 bedrooms, kitchen, large dining table, 2 bathrooms, a beautiful view over Rome and still being able to make use of the hotel's facilities (50 metres from hotel's entrance).Matrasses of very good quality, […] apartment well cleaned every day, a (for Mediterrenean standards), extensive breakfast buffet (breakfast room not very cosy, but that's cultural) and very friendly, helpful people at the reception desk (who even remember your name!). Bus (nbr 3) and tram (nbr 9) stop in front of hotel (1 EUR when you buy ticket at hotel, even cheaper when bought at "tabacci" and is valid for 75 min, so it will get you anywhere in town). When you've no problem with walking, it takes you 40 min to get downtown. Hotel is located in Trastevere neighbourhood, where you'll find tons of restaurants, some supermarkets and local shops. Hotel will call for taxi and it will be there within 5 min. Don't forget to visit Ostia Antigua (1 EUR from hotel to Ostia (bus/train; approx. 50 min) or Via Appia (buses or taxi; oldest "highway" in the world; rent bikes at little cafe over there). Make reservations for Vatican museums, Colosseum and Villa Borghese on-line; it will save you hours from waiting or even "sold out" for little extra money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This was our first visit to Rome. We were not able to locate a hotel in central Rome. We found this hotel on expedia. It is located just outside central Rome. By bus, it is only 10 minutes to central Rome. The hotel staff were indeed fabulous. The breakfast was great, but we were not able to eat breakfast everyday because we had to leave early for our […] escorted tours. The room we stayed in was very clean and nice size for European standard. Despite the traffic on the street, our room was very quite. There is the H bus, just outside the hotel that conveyed us to termini station. From termini, you can take a train to Major Italian cities. You can purchase a bus ticket from the hotel front desk. However, they sell the 75 minutes pass only which cost 1 Euro. I will unreservedly recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great place to stay"
Excellent location to be just away enough from the tourists locations to be able to experience the real Rome with the locals. Excellent restaurant selections very near-by within walking distance; but close enough to the Roman attractions to be able to catch the trolly or buses and be in central Rome or the Vatican within minutes. The trolly stops right […] in front of the hotel. The staff was very helpful and kind with maps and directions and recommendations, and the rooms were very comfortable. We had a family room with our two small girls and we were all very comfortable. The shower was very small as others have noted, but the rest of the hotel attributes more than made up for the few minutes spent in the small shower. It was small, but all the water jets were pretty cool. The breakfast was not bad, plenty of food. We stayed at other locations while in Rome and this was our favorite just because we wanted to experience Rome away from the tourist traps. This will be our #1 pick to stay at next time. We recently spent 10 days in Rome staying at the Trilussa Palace Hotel. The hotel was delightful, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the location extremely convenient on the number 8 tram line. "Met all our expectations. Good value."
The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. They answered all our questions with accurate information and took the time to explain in details what to do and how to get there. Public transportation was right in front of the hotel making it convenient for us. The ride to the center of attractions took about 15 - 20 minutes and with clear directions […] from the hotel staff, we never got lost. There weren't many restaurants near the hotel where we could walk, but a very short bus ride from there. We bought the day pass that allowed us to use the public transportation all day long for something like 4 Euros. The hotel offered us a welcome Champagne cocktail at the rooftop were we got a good glimpse of the city. No views of the Colosseum or anything like that, but nice for the location. Best of all, they were very accommodating in getting us a ride to the Cruise terminal in Civitavecchia and from there to the airport when we got back. They saved us some money there because the cruise line wanted nearly 4 times more for the shuttle to the airport. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Trilussa Palace -- Trastevere great location"
We were a family of four. I had read all of the reviews on hotels.com and on other travel websites and understood not everything would be perfect (for example, the hotel is not in the center of Rome; the rooms are not huge; the shower is different and not large). Perhaps being prepared for the less than perfect allowed us to appreciate how special an […] experience our stay was in this hotel. The staff was consistently helpful and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Everything from making reservations for us at local sites to serving us coffee in the a.m., prior to the official breakfast time. Some reviewers have commented about the location as if it is not ideal. To the contrary, Trastevere is a great location. The tram stops right outside the hotel frequently and is the easiest way to get into the city. But we found that the local neighborhood was the place to walk around in the evening and for outside dining. The restaurant selection was abundant and frankly the food was better than in the heart of the city. After spraying water all over our bathroom in attemptiing to use the shower features that appear to be out of a space capsule, I quite enjoyed the shower experience including overhead, handheld head, and body massage. Americans have to get over the notion that there is only one way to take a shower. We enjoyed the garden rooftop bar and view of Rome. The hotel provided us with more than one large towel per person, which was great because the first day had water all over the bathroom as we negotiated the shower features. The air conditioning in the hotel and room worked wonderfully. The hotel has bottled water available throughout the day in the lobby -- a big plus when you arrive after an overnight flight or after a day in the hot Roman sun. Some reviewers were not entusiastic about the breakfast; wwe thought it was great and woudl recommend it to anyone looking to get a good start to the day. "Charming, Friendly & Convenient"
We were so pleased with the Trilussa Palace and cannot say enough about the friendly, helpful staff. The clean, quaintly decorated room was small but very comfortable for our week's stay. The breakfast buffet was good - pastries, breads, fruit, eggs, meats & cheeses. We truly enjoyed the rooftop terrace although we never encountered a bartender or snacks […] from 6-midnight as suggested in the hotel's description. The location was ideal! "Great location, trippy shower"
Trilussa Palace isn't five star, but has many luxuries - marble floors and counters in bathroom, memory foam mattress, a very nice buffet breakfast, and a little bar area with a very friendly bartender. Just outside the door, a little tram can take you four stops down to the Tiber Riverwalk, and you're also very close to the Piazza Trastavere, with […] fab restaurants, little shops, artists, street performers - a vibrant Italian scene! Quibble: the shower is absolutely trippy. It's a tiny, self contained capsule sort of thing that looks like it should launch you into space. It's smaller than a cruise ship shower, has a little bench, and multiple shower heads at the top and back (some of which surprise with a blast of cold water). You get an instruction manual on how to work the thing. You need to be average to thin to fit in this baby. If you're tall, your head hits the top head, and if you're big, you won't be able to turn around. But all of us in our group of six found the shower funny, a unique memory of Italy. The staff here is friendly, the location is fun, and they'll turn down the air conditioner extra cold for you at the front desk if you make this special request! "Would go back in a heartbeat"
Myself and 3 friends stayed at the hotel for 1 week. It was by far the best place we have stayed at in our 20 + years of traveling together. The location was perfect, with public transportation easily accessible. The room was clean and in good order, other than a slow draining shower. The breakfast was amazing with fresh fruit, pastries, hot eggs and […] bacon and juices, fresh cheese. It was a wonderful breakfast. The very best however, was the staff at the hotel. This was our first visit to Rome and we found Trilussa Palace on the Expedia website. 1. Location - very conveniently located at a walking distance from the Tram station which takes you straight to Argentina near the center of the city. Many nice restaurants within walking distance. 2. Staff - clerks provided us with information about surrounding attractions […] and corresponding bus numbers. Staff spoke English, very attentive 3. Breakfast and Wi-Fi included - Wi-Fi service was good. Breakfast was excellent with a selection of fresh fruits, coffee, cereal, pastries, yogurt, eggs, cold cuts, etc. 4. Room -clean, many different settings with an in-shower seat and was comfortable (very small shower space). The room space is very small, we had two comfy twin size beds pretty much take up the entire room which was good enough for us. Very secure safe box available in room. Very quiet at night. 5. View - our room had a view of neighboring apartments but we never spent time in the hotel during the day anyway so not an incovenience to us. Suggestions for new travelers: We had trouble finding the bus stops corresponding to the right bus numbers, and did a fair amount of walking to find them. Trastevere - even if many consider it to be on "the wrong side of the river" - offers a great selection […] of restaurants, so we often returned there for dinner. "Excellent location for visitors to Rome"
The hotel is well appointed. Some other reviews have mentioned small showers. The hotel is actually a spa as well, and the showers are equipped with multiple shower heads and jet-massage features. The hotel had free wi-fi available […] in the rooms and the breakfast was excellent and well-stocked compared to many hotels' limited continental breakfast offerings.
