"Check in"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
You have to park and then walk into the lobby. You can't park right at the entry into the hotel. Was very satisfied with everything. The undergound parking was a real plus with the temperature at 100 degrees.

Palm Desert is a city for the arts for all senses. Billing itself as a museum without walls, the city displays more than 130 sculptures in public foyers, squares, and sidewalks. Broadway acts and big-name musicians fill the McCallum Theatre’s seats. Souvenir hunters need look no further than El Paseo. This district has more than 300 shops, many with gaily-decorated facades.
see all hotels in Palm DesertThe room was sufficiently clean and the staff was helpful. However, we stayed there during a music festival and we can hear conversation/sneezes from adjoining bedrooms through the adjourning doors.

"Little Gem In Palm Desert"
An old fashioned small motel with nice large pool in the center.close to el paseo for shopping .The management was Extremely helpful and very nice.rooms are a liitle dated but clean. i will definatelyStay there again.
"Lovely"
This is quaint and comfortable. Room was very nicely decorated. Michelle at the front desk knew a great deal about what to do. Before you come to the area check to see what events and festivals are going on. It was unite. The pool and hot tub are very relaxing. Within walking distance of many useful spots.
"Inn at Deep Canyon"
Older hotel, but very nice. Staff was extremely pleasant. Nice continental breakfast.
"Desert Oasis"
This is a terrific little hotel with most of the comforts of the big resorts without the pretensions. No, it's not fancy, but it is comfortable with a nice pool and super conveniently located to the center of Palm Desert, You can walk to restaurants and shopping. We were given an upgraded room when we asked to swtich to a better spot and were generally […] very well treated by the staff (since when does a housekeeper come by after hours to thank you for leaving a tip!?). We found many of the guests were regular repeat customers and that says it all. Read more
Great customer service! Close to everything I needed! Would definitely stay again! :)

"Inn at Deep Canyon"
why spend twice the amount? This is a classic desert hotel, and although it is old it is well managed. Wireless connection needs some work, but all in all it's a great deal for a short stay in Palm Desert.
"Inn at Deep Canyon"
Booked 1 night..stayed 2. Got an upstairs suite with Kingsize bed and a veranda looking west. This small very friendly hotel although not new was a throw back to the good ole days. The large room was fully fitted with kitchen and all the utensils, we brought a box of wine and enjoyed some sundowners after a swim and hot tub. Located two blocks from […] the east end of the El Paseo shopping district and close to stores and bars it made for a fun weekend. Wireless internet, 60+channels of cable TV without the usual hotel PPV nonsense, heated pool and sunloungers-a-plenty for a good price in a great location...try it.. Read more
"The Inn at Deep Canyon - great place to stay"

"Inn At Deep Canyon"
I enjoyed my stay at the Inn At Deep Canyon. The only drawbacks for me were twofold: 1. The parking was limited. 2.The complimentary breakfast began too late for me to participate. The breakfast began at 8:00 which I feel is too late. The bed was very comfortable and large! I appreciated the keyed access to the courtyard which added an extra elimate […] of security. I enjoyed the coffee in the room with a fridge and microwave. The only drawback in the room for me was that the carpets were spotted and dirty. A minor annoyance. Read more

"Clean and comfortable"
When booking this hotel, I was just looking for a quick one-night stay between late-night flight and day of road travel. Was glad I chose this one. Clean and comfortable. Spacious room. A little "throw back" to older days, but nothing wrong with that. Staff very friendly too.
"cozy quaint perfect"
We like the older style resorts which exude past sensitivity to guest needs - Inn at Deep Canyon has it!
"Clean where it counts, but needs improvement."
Beds were clean, had plastic covers on them as well so was not afraid of bedbugs. Plastic covers did not interfere with sleep. Mattresses and pillows looked new. However, pillows were SMALL (half the size of standard pillow it seems) and not too comfortable. The bed was good. Evidence of sloppy maintenance work...wall patches not well done, paint lines […] crooked, REALLY sloppy caulking around tub, etc. A two year old could caulk better than that. Even though this place was old, with just a little bit more care in the maintenance arena and better pillows it would be a nice little quaint place to stay. Carpets were spotted and dirty. But the room was clean where it counts...the bed and bathroom. The lady at the front desk enjoys people and is very pleasant to converse with. I'm really on the fence about recommending the place. Decent pillows would make a big difference. Read more
It was like a Motel 6 with Continental Breakfast. Way overpriced!!! Would have had my family stay at a Motel 6 if had know it would be like this Did not have Air Conditioning. Seriously??? In Palm Springs?? They were nice enough to provide a box fan. Enough said.
First, I want to apologize for the problems you experienced during your stay. We are committed to taking care of our guests and want everyone to have a pleasurable experience. We do have air conditioning. Our system can provide only 1 type of air at a time. During the Winter, the system is set to provide heat when the outside temperature is 60 or below. The air conditioning kicks on at 75 degrees. When the outside temperature is in between these, whichever was the last one on is the one which comes out of the vents. This should have been explained to you when you mentioned that you were unable to get the AC to run. We are in the process of providing individual AC/Heat units to each room.
1 response by Inn at Deep Canyon"Old Palm Springs Style with Value"
The Inn at Deep Canyon looks to be an old-style Palm Springs resort. Almost more apartment than motel. It's not posh but has that low-slung PS style. The rooms are especially large and all look out to the pool. Sure, they're a bit dated but they've done a nice job of trying to counter that.
"Don't stay at this inn!"
The pool was completely overpacked with people who were BBQing and taking the entire place over. There literally was no room to go in the pool unless you wanted to get splashed or smacked in the head with a beachball. For those of us who just wanted a cocktail poolside and to relax and cool off = forget it. The people partied until past 1:00am with […] screaming and splashing and the hotel did nothing to try and remedy this problem. When I phoned the manager at 1:00am, she said to me, "I have already tried to quiet them and they won't listen so you should call 911." We learned the next day that many other people complained but all the front desk would offer us was a $40 voucher for when we returned. It will be tough to use as we will never go back to that shabby place. Luckily, Hotels.com got us a refund for our second night and we went down the street to the Embassy Suites which was soooo much better for only about $22 a night more. Don't make the same mistake we did! Read more

1 response by Inn at Deep Canyon"Pet-friendly"
I chose this hotel because it is pet-friendly. Though it wasn't close enough to our purpose in being in Palm Springs, I was quite happy with the accomodations. The room was huge and had a nice little balconey overlooking the pool and courtyard. My biggest complaint? The pillows weren't so great!

"A Nice Getaway"
Nice peaceful setting close to plenty of other options if you decide to leave the pool side
"The Inn at Deep Canyon, Palm Desert, CA"
The pool area had a lovely, "old palm springs" feeling with families around... breakfast room and breakfast was not quite up to par... but all in all, we enjoyed our brief time there.... the people at the desk were very friendly.
Nice lady manager.
"Inn at Deep Canyon"
This hotel gave me the creeps, to the point, that I couldn't stay the night. I left and drove back home. I had an exterior room which felt a little too exposed to the trickle of foot traffic between a nearby liquor store and some apartments.
"Decent budget hotel"
The hotel is nice and spacious; built in a time when rooms were bigger. It's a nice vibe, the pool is cool and there's a BBQ for guests. Negatives: Almost zero water pressure in the shower, AC doesn't work depending on the outside temperature. We spent 2 nights trying to sleep in an 83-degree room. Awful. The complimentary breakfast is very basic... […] don't expect too much. 4:3, old, tube TV's. Read more
"Good hotel for the price"
I was generally happy with our stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The outside of the building looks a little old and worn, but it does have some character. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by the size and appearance of our room. We had a 2-double bed room and it was huge! It also had a very cute balcony. It was […] very well-kept and nice looking. The beds weren't the most comfortable, but not too bad. My only complaint about the room was the way their air conditioning functioned. It was completely dependent on the weather outside. For example, if it was 70 degrees or less outside the AC would only blow out heat. If it was 70 or higher outside, it would blow out cold air. During our stay, it was cold outside, but our room was hot for some reason, but we couldn't use the air conditioner because it would only blow out hot air. Luckily we were only there for one night so it wasn't that big of a deal. If our stay was any longer, that might have been a problem though. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're just looking for a place to sleep for a short stay. Read more
Very friendly, nice and accommodating, best stay ever.
"Deep Canyon Inn, Palm Desert, CA"
The room was musty - old dust - smelling and there was no stopper for the bathtub. There was no hotel staff on site after 5 pm. In the morning when I wanted to hand back the keys the hostess and a member of the domestic staff were having a meeting which apparently couldn't be interupted to wait on the paying guests.
First, I want to apologize for the problems you experienced during your stay. We are committed to taking care of our guests and want everyone to have a pleasurable experience. I will address these issues with my housekeeping and front desk staff. The after hours phone number you were given and the Call Button by the office door both ring to our On Site Manager who handles problems when the office is closed. If I can have your room number and departure date it would assist me in addressing the problems.
