I've been to other all-inclusive resorts before and this property is not up to par to other ones I've visited. The property desperately needs to be renovated. Although the room was clean, the furniture and bathroom are very old. The food, wine and alcoholic drinks were terrible. The only thing great about this resort was the location. Also, they did offer alot of activities to do.

Staff is amazing! On-site dive facility. Beach and resort are wonderful. Really great vibe and lots of international visitors. Management wasn't visible anywhere though, and there were a lot of little maintenance things that needed to be addressed. It was almost like the owners lost the passion for the property. It was disappointing because it is an AMAZING property, and the staff is WONDERFUL. Food wasn't bad for an all-inclusive. On-site nightly entertainment and lots to do. You could have a great vacation and never leave the property if you wished. I will definitely return! Message to management: please pay more attention to detail to take this place to the next level!

Went with an open mind , but it blew me away at how bad it was . The service staff was rude , not all of them . Yet a large number , air conditioning in room didn't work . They sent someone he came , said he would look at outside unit , never came back . Food was mediocre at best , didn't have a chance to eat at the restaurants . They were booked before we even got there . So we went to town to eat . Beach could have been dragged daily and cleaned from night before .

Enjoyed the beach and the entertainment staff. The reception was OK, but could have been more welcoming. They are the ones that should represent the hotel at its best. The entire property is tired and needs major cleaning, and, or renovation. The baths are truly unsightly and don't function well. However, the housekeeping staff is very, very pleasant and accommodating. Food at buffet was below average. Food at restaurants was very good. Libations offered everywhere were way below average.

The dive shop is good and the staff is pleasant. The hotel has bikes that you can use for free but they are terrible, flat tires, broken pedals, and the few that do work will surprise you by having the chain fall off or something else.

This hotel mixes their bottles of alcohol with 75% water. The staff even admitted it to us. You can literally drink bottles and bottles of alcohol and you won't even get buzzed. The majority of the staff is rude. You have to wait over an hour to check in. The bars often ran out of beer and cups to drink out of. There are only 2 restaurants (besides mediocre limited buffet) one Asian, one Italian. There are only 4 options to chose off the menu and they serve VERY small portions, and will not let you order more than one option. The only good thing about this hotel is the air condition in the hotel room is cold, and there are plenty of lounge chairs on the beach. I would never stay at this hotel again!

Very low class for my taste. Food was horrible, entertainment was cheesy, the hotel staff is cold and the room furniture look like it came from a thrift store. I think they need to refurbish this place in the worst way. Don't let the ALL-INCLUSIVE fool you, I'd rather pay for better food and entertainment. No place to shop....eat.....or see different people other than their property. Drinks were rally bad also....cheap liquor. Nothing good to say about this resort except ----STAY-AWAY !!!

Great trip, fabulous weather. Accommodations a bit dated and worn out. Room cleaned and well stocked each day. Staff very helpful. Food adequate. Drinks fantastic, remember to upgrade to VIP for better liquiors. The most beautiful beach with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Overall, a great value for the buck! The beach, pool & amenities were nice however rooms were old. No tub, walk in shower with no shelf so toiletries on floor. Sadly, all inclusive buffet was horrible. Kids ate at pool snackbar but only open lunch-6. Love Bahamas but will try a new resort next time.

Nice hotel, a bit older but it was right on the beach and there was lots to do. They taught scuba and we played on the trapeeze. Great snorkling, bikes to borrow and so much more. Food was adequate. Some of the staple foods were a bit strange but there was always something good to eat.

We took our time checking in to avoid the lines. Great food and bars. Nice beach. We like to socialize and met lots of friendly US and Canadian people. Not many foreigners. Liked to visit the port, a $25 cab ride. We upgraded our room to beach side, great way to wake up and sit on the balcony. our worst day was April 9, 2014, only 82*. Rain only at night. Excellent nightly entertainment. Lots of organized activities. Right up there on our list of nice, less expensive resorts. Been to the Bahamas 3 times, sure to return.

Beautiful beach. Rooms were ok. No living room. Had an ocean view room. No free shuttles. Food was pretty good. Drinks seemed like the alcohol was watered down. The hotel staff was very nice. I thought all the staff was great! I flew to nassau to save money. My hotel was in freeport so I had to pay for a local flight to transfer me. I ended up missing flights and paying more just get the exact flight to where your going.

Loved the staff very friendly and helpful things going on every hour or so. There was a show every night and something for the kids to do all day if you wanted. Beach was amazing beautiful sand and plenty of room.

We are four adults that stayed here. The hotel needs lost of attention. Hotel bathrooms dirty and in need of attention. Televisions did not work the 4 days we were there. All inclusive fine for folks who don't care about mediocre food and watered down cocktails. Pool furniture dirty. Probably a great value for "Spring Breakers" though. Staff tries hard, but it just didn't help. Lots of repetitive meals.

We went during Mid-March which is Spring Break for many Universities in the United States. As you can imagine, there was an overabundance of 18-21 year olds who were constantly yelling and making noise the whole time. It didn't really bother us as we went further down the beach to avoid everyone. With that said, the locals who frequent the beach CONTINUOUSLY try to sell you little knick-knacks that we neither wanted or needed. There are security guards posted at the entrance to each side of the resort's beach, but they did little to keep the locals out. The locals would become pushy if you did not want to purchase anything and then offer to sell you any drug you wanted under the sun. Again this is alright if this is what you are looking for, but we found it annoying that the locals kept pestering us as we tried to enjoy the water and read. You get what you pay for - the food was bland, but it does its main function to give you energy. We would eat the food and find no satiety in the meal whatsoever. Staff was friendly and courteous. The bar staff got progressively grumpy as the night went on and people became more obnoxious about there drinks. FYI - the drinks are bottom shelf and are weak. I would suggest going to the duty free liquor store in the airport or one on the island to make your own drinks (soda is free). Make sure you know the pricing for the taxis. Thrice our driver tried to overcharge us. They will ask you if you know the fare and then overcharge.

Nice and friendly staff and the hotel has their own private beach and you don't have to pay to rent beach chairs or umbrellas. We did the all inclusive plan and the food was good. The hotel had everything that you need but their hotel rooms could use some sprucing up but they are clean. Great time

Read the reviews and understand what you are getting. We had a great time. However, we understood what to expect. If you want a 5 star resort with white glove services, this isn't the place for you. If you want a reasonably priced beach hotel, it's good. What you read about the towels is true. Start asking for them as soon as you get there. We hid our towels from housekeeping because they take them and don't return any. Hold on to your "beach" towels and turn them in as you leave or you will be charged. Know which sets of chairs your wristband allows you to sit in at the beach or you'll be asked to move. Tip the bartenders and they will take care of you. Our main disappointment was that our room, and the whole building for that matter, didn't have hot water. They acted surprised when we complained stating to let it run and it gets hotter. No, it didn't. After multiple complaints, someone did work on the hot water and we got either scorching hot or freezing cold water. Make dinner reservations as soon as you check in if you want to eat at the Asian or Italian places. Don't expect to check in before 3:00 on the dot. Extras such as snorkling, kayaking, and paddle boats are included, easy to sign out, and a lot of fun. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets are okay. Again, if you are looking for a grand hotel, spend more and get one. If you want a very reasonably priced location and all inclusive to boot I would recommend it. you do get what you pay for.

This was our first trip to Freeport and we wanted an all-inclusive hotel. In addition to food, beverages, and snacks being provided, there were many activities included...kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, diving, pool, table tennis, archery, foosball, bingo, yoga, etc. Good variety of food. Very friendly staff. Accommodations were what I expected of a 3-star hotel. Nice beach and pool area.

It is a good hotel on the beach - they have a lot of activities at the resort, you will never be bored. Jacuzzi, tennis, archery, zumba, sailing, snorkeling yolu name it.

While the beach is beautiful and the pool is OK, the property itself is entirely run-down and appears to be very neglected by wyndham. there was very little water pressure in the rooms. The food was very low quality and lackluster. There were not many beverage options for adults. The snack bar ran out of food mid-afternoon. Lots of complaints from guests who had worked up an appetite that afternoon. The children's area looked pitiful. As parent passed by the kids called out for parents to come get them. It didn't look fun for the kids.

My only complaints are the buffet needs a little more variety, you can make reservations at one of the 2 restaurants on their property but they weren't much to speak of and then you are on a time schedule, I just want to eat when hungry and back to fun! This is not a 5 star resort that you expect 5 star food you definitely will not go hungry! Only other complaint was I had an issue at check in, I wanted the same room I had last year since the view was so amazing but was made to feel like I was a pain. It is the same level of a room that I paid for so it should not have been an issue since it was not already occupied. Not a good start other than that the rest of the staff very friendly and helpful in any and every way!

When my fiancé and I arrived at the viva we were not impressed. The condition of the resort lead me to believe maintenance wasn't a priority. Paint chipped, floor tiles loose and chipped; just not a beautiful place. The buffet was decent but the 2 on site restraunts were horrible. Undercooked rice , over cooked meat, and the "house wine" was disappointingly Franzia. The dance parties were fun, the free water sports were great. The staff was also attentive, fun and friendly Our stay would have been terrible if we hadn't met such a great group of people. Unfortunatly we wouldn't recommend going here.

The grounds are in need of grooming and the one person (that we dealt with a few times) at the front desk and a few others were not friendly at all. I didn't feel upper management cared about the guests. Some were very rude. Of course there were several that were very friendly. (cleaning staff)

we have been there (me, my husband and my parents) on a January; we found not so great weather conditions, it was pretty cold unfortunately and this doesn't help. The Hotel is pretty simple but old, not very well maintaned. The furniture and decorations are old; the bars only keep a limited variety of drinks; the two restaurants where we had dinner (which both require reservation) were pretty bad. We had much better meals at the regular self service restaurant.

My friend and I went as a college graduation trip, and being college graduates, we don't have much money. The hotel was affordable and because it was all inclusive we were able to save money on food and drinks and put that towards excursions outside the hotel. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and there are constantly activities happening throughout the day. The nightly shows we're entertaining. The beach was a bit rocky, but not far in either direction are beautiful beaches to swim in. The only negative aspect was that the food at the buffet was not that great, but there are two restaurants on site that are also included in the all-inclusive, and they have better food.

We were a little worried after many negative reviews, but really enjoyed the Wyndham. Food was plentiful and although not 4 star was always satisfactory, and way better than looking for restaurants for every meal. The grounds are nice, pool was clean and beach is great. All activities are included, including bikes (which were always available), good weight room and tennis. A typical day included walk on the beach, breakfast, bike ride to nearby Lucaya, swim/tennis/kayak, lunch, nap, reading on the beach, snorkeling, cappuccino at 4, gym workout, dinner, tv, etc.

Basically the beach and pool are fine. If you, however, are looking for a luxurious resort while you vacation this ISN"T it! We had no hot or warm water for three days. No wifi in the room. Food was very sub par for being an all-inclusive resort. The beds are terribly uncomfortable and old. You are better off staying at a Motel 6 to be honest. The Guest services were not accommodating nor was the wait staff in the dining hall. They don't even apologize for their shortcomings. Not once did I hear an apology from a guest service member until I finally after three days waiting spoke with their manager. She then apologized but by then it was too late. They acted as if you were putting them out instead of being there to serve you. This level of service wasn't just at our expense but many others staying in the resort as well. Bottom line is that you are better off not staying here if you are accustomed to a decent room with water pressure and warm/hot water, comfortable beds, and good food.

Good all inclusive deal - value for money during the holiday season. Good location & multiple activities throughout the day - room had a great sea view, but hotel room quality was not up to the mark (in terms of maintenance & quality of furnishings). Food spread (buffet) was good, but sometimes the food was not well cooked (e.g. potatoes and meats were uncooked). Desserts were limited. Restaurant options (outside of the buffet) was limited. The hotel team was truly talented running multiple activities throughout the day and good entertainment at night.

I would like to express how surprised and pleased we were with our stay at this all-inclusive hotel. We got just what we expected- good value for a great Caribbean vacation. Overall the condition was fine, the room was clean, the food kept us full and the drinks were never ending (bacis tropical drinks, SANS local beer, do not expect lobster and shrimp and fantastic food, just enough to fill you up for a day on the beach). While this was certainly not the RITZ, it meet our needs. We did not expect TOP NOTCH facilities as this is not that kind of resort- if you expect perfection, catering to evey need or are a FOODIE this is not for you. This is for easy going people, who like to relax, drink in the sunshine and forget about the day to day grind. Service and the friendliness of the staff is amazing, the grounds tropical and beach is awesome, and you cannot beat the price... We would go back.

Friendly staff, excellent beach and pool area. Could use updating, especially the rooms but great views and beaches little time is spent in the rooms. Would definitely go back.

We stayed at the Viva Wyndham because Scuba Sur are on site and the diving was great. It is an all inclusive and I am not particularly fond of all inclusive vacations. In fairness, the food is not as bad a most and is passable. If you want more than beer the liquor selection is poor but the service at the bar is quite good - the same cannot be said for reception or bell staff. Maintenance in the rooms was terrible, the first room we had was totally unacceptable and we were told we could move at 11:30pm. When I went to get a new key at 11:45 no room was actually available, there were not many people at the hotel so am not sure what the issue was. The next day we moved rooms once we returned from diving and the room was better. That said, the floors, walls and fridge door were dirty - the latter splattered with coffee. The same could be said for conditions throughout the resort so if you had a choice you would not eat there. Overall, I would not stay there again and would certainly not recommend the hotel to anyone, it is expensive and poorly maintained.

Food excellent. Room and facility require upgrade. Need a microwave in the room. Very quite and private which was what we needed. Beautiful beach. More security on the beach to prevent locals from selling items to tourists. Overall great vacation.

This is the second time we've been to this resort and again was not disappointed. The first time was just my fiance and I; in which we had a great experience! So greatwe actually came back this time with 13 friends/family to have our beach wedding! Everything was perfect! Staff was so much fun and accomodating! The wedding was perfect and every concerns/question was answered with a smile!! Could not have been any more perfect of awedding and vacation!

This was our first time in the Bahamas and we chose this resort for the all inclusive feature. It had all the amenities we wanted (pool, beachfront, recreational activities, buffet, etc). Unfortunately there was smoking allowed in too many areas and this ruined it for me. The last straw for me was looking into my cup and seeing leftover ashes on the sides...glad I brought my own water bottle which the bartenders graciously refilled with my choice of drink whenever needed! The staff was great, but the smokers were NOT!

This was our second trip to this resort, because we had a good time the first time. It is not ritzy by any means, and the food was okay but not great, but the kids loved it and it was small and remote, so they could run around by themselves safely. The staff were also great. We were there this time for Labor Day, and the hotel closed right afterwards for a few months. I assume because they were closing the hotel decided to close the two nice restaurants, and also closed the buffet for dinner. Everyone had to make reservations for dinner, and eat from a specific menu. In addition, they kept running out of food. The last day, they did not even open the beach restaurant for food, so after lunch, you had absolutely no food options until your dinner reservation. I found the changes to be inexcusable, and while the staff was still great, it is unlikely we will go back because of this. It was extremely disappointing.

We stayed 2 nights at Viva Winham Fortuna beach. The beach was nice, the water sports selection is good. We stayed in Vista ocean front room which has a very nice view and was right on the beach. The downsides of this place are: no A/C in the dining room, it feels like you have your meals in a sauna! The food selection is very limited and the drinks are rather bad quality. The bikes available at the hotel are total junk. The stuff is okay, some of them not so friendly though.
