i had pretty low expectations and this place met my expectations perfectly. the hotel could use some updating, there isn't much in the way of ascetics or luxury. it's just basic motel meets the bare minimum ongoing investment. next door there seems to be nicer places - but it's all about the dollar delta. The free breakfast is pretty lame - but i guess […] it's free. On the plus side, the location is pretty good. Parking isn't bad. And my shower was alright. Location was fine, upperstate street. The lobby was shabby and not painted with noticable worn look and my daughter freaked about the spider on the wall. The exterior was tired and it and the room doors needed paint. I always say the lobby shows the quality of the hotel. It was comfortable beds and bath clean with a fridge and micro. There are better hotels in SLO for a little more money, but in this price point it was clean, the shower worked well, and the continental breakfast was nice. We had no issues so I can't speak to the service, but we had no complaints.

Large room with frig and microwave on the one of the main roads in town made this simple motel perfect for us. We stayed two days so we could look around town. Breakfast was included but was pretty scanty. The motel was clean and comfortable and the price excellent.

Lady at counter was not friendly at all. No greeting. No smile. Just gave me my keys and didn't even bother to tell me where the room was located. The room number started with a "2" so I thought it was on the second floor, but it was on a ground floor. Normally, when you turn on the A/C you expect it to take you to the desired temperature before it […] "goes to sleep"; then they turn on periodically to maintain the temperature. The air conditioner in my room turns on only a few minutes at a time and doesn't stay on long enough to cool the room to a comfortable temperature. Read more

Except for the problem with the drain everything was was fine. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. The receptionist was a bit annoyed cause I checked in around 1 am and woke her up, but she wasn't rude and was helpful in checking me in quickly. Would stay again

In the description of the hotel, there was a pool. In such extreme heat, a pool would have been very nice. Unfortunately, we were not notified ahead of time, and would have chosen a different hotel.
