Everything about our stay was wonderful. It's an hour from Victoria, so it's perfect if you want comfort and quiet away from the city but not too isolated. The B&B is beautifully maintained, with lovely public spaces including seating for a marvelous view of the Juan de Fuca Strait. Stairs lead down through the forest to a beach populated by gulls, […] geese and seals (weird black slugs on the stairs look like living licorice, not gross, cool!). The breakfast was huge and delicious, and Lori and Andy are gracious and attentive hosts. The wifi worked, which was great because I didn't have phone reception. Lori gave good recommendations for dinner at Point No Point. Highly recommended! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"We stayed in January"
Nice hosts, charming spot. Just off well-maintained Coast Highway but remarkably quiet. Approx.14' x12' self-contained room, generous bed, private bath(tub and shower) with own exterior entrance . A reading nook with wingback chairs for my wife to read. Fresh Coffee and Tea. Downstairs is a separate communal kitchen for doing your own meals. Views of […] Ocean. The other side of the room has a locking door that gives to a hallway down which one comes on a rustic log meeting room. With a generous table and chairs set up for groups. West off Muir Creek, on a promontory with a path going down directly to a private wild pebble beach.Fun to explore, nicer to come right into your own private room for a hot shower and coffee. 15 KMs to shopping and restaurants in Sooke. Delightful sandwich/ homemade bakery in next door community of Shirley. Bon appetito. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A wonderful refuge for a tech-free getaway!"
Breakfast was delicious and the quick hike down to the water was well worth the workout to get back up! Wi-fi is available as well as a community PC and landline for those who need it, but no TV, no phone, no distractions in the quaint, eclectically decorated rooms make for a restful experience. A great place to reconnect with others or yourself - gorgeous […] views, kind people and a relaxed atmosphere to rejuvenate the spirit. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"outstanding hotel, worth to try out"
the surrounding is truly 'wildness', which is very cool. Also, the hot tub is a nice bonus for the stay, the price is also excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect Bed and Breakfast Experience"
Lori and Andy were super nice, the B&B was beautiful (but not frilly, as Andy pointed out), breakfast was awesome. We had a really great time here. We enjoyed the hot tub, walked down to the beautiful beach and watched some seals bask on the rocks. Would definitely recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great B&B, would recommend it!"
Lori was a gracious host and was helpful in suggesting fun things to do in the area and where to eat in Port Renfrew. It's a beautiful location, not too far from Sooke with a great view of the ocean down below.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great B&B, far away from almost everything. Classic ocean view from the spa tub. Great breakfast. Make sure you eat in Sooke, as there is nothing nearby. Paul B. Salmon Arm, BCGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Nette Gastgeber!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Perfect Refuge"
11/27/14 Jane A London, United Kingdom
A wonderful overnight stopping place on the coast road close to three national park walking areas - most notably the East Sooke Park with its magnificent coastal trail through ancient forests. The Inn provides a B&B service and is notable for its large ensuite rooms, its comfortable beds and the discreet warmth of the welcome from the inn-keepers, Andy and Lori. There is a hot tub overlooking the sea and a private path down to the stony beach. Complementary coffee and tea. The Inn only serves breakfast during the summer months but, in winter, the owners are perfectly happy for you to bring your own yoghurt and granola. Excellent value for money at Can $115 per room per night. Plenty of places in Sooke to get an evening meal.
"Wonderfully idylic retreat"

Original log building with new extension for rooms. Ensuites and larger rooms throughout. Hot tub outside. View, wildlife, and walk to beach. Hosts are very charming and helpful. Breakfast is superb. Very quiet location somewhat West of Sooke (the further West you get the quieter it is, bigger the ocean breakers, and the better the view), near Shirley. About a 15min drive to Sooke for supper at an interesting variety of places (Not walking distance, and a longish bike ride). Definitely a romantic location, good for hikers, interesting for foreign guests.
"Relaxing and Peaceful"

We stayed at the Inn at the end of July. We arrived via motorbike and, after checking in, we sat drinking a glass of wine, in chairs overlooking the ocean. Lori and Andy have made the inn a relaxing, comfortable retreat for their guests! Our room, which was based on a Mexican theme, was spacious and was equipped with a very comfortable bed, a small fridge, and lovely chaise lounge and chair situated to look out the large windows. To access the beach requires a 5 to 10 minute descent down stairs and a path, but all the more to appreciate the seashore. Although the inn is adjacent to the road, you feel that you are in a retreat. The ocean view, the gardens, the walkways make the property feel peaceful and relaxing! Lori and Andy are great hosts, very accommodating, but not intrusive. There is a TV room and a guest kitchen for those who wish to use these. But, who would want to watch TV when surrounded by a lovely natural environment?

Lori went out her way to make sure we had a good time. The house is beautiful and comfortable, with large guest rooms and a number of handsome shared spaces including outdoor seating with a gorgeous view. Parking is easy, just off the 14. A stepped trail to the beach is a gateway to wildlife including seals, seagulls, Canada geese, and giant black slugs that looked like living licorice. The beach views are spectacular. Breakfast was lavish and delicious. We had to leave early on our last day (the B&B is about an hour out of Victoria), so Lori packed us juice, yogurt, grapefruit and homemade granola bars, all excellent.

Yesterday, my husband and I checked out of a 4-night stay at the Ocean Wilderness Inn and we had a really great experience! We stayed in the Pacific Panorama Room, it was large, clean, and had a good view of the water. The shower stall was a little small but the oversized soaker tub more than made up for it. Our hosts Andy & Lori were really nice people. We missed our ferry and arrived later than expected to check in and they were very patient and accommodating. The atmosphere around the breakfast table every morning was friendly and Andy did a great job of facilitating conversation between guests. On the last morning, we checked out too early for breakfast and Lori made us a travel pack of yogurt, homemade granola bars and orange juice to eat on the road. The gesture was greatly appreciated and the granola bars were delicious! We would 100% recommend this hotel.
"Beautiful Room; Gracious Innkeepers"
07/30/14 JKronrod Moraga, California
My son and I travelled here in late July and stayed for two nights. Our first floor room had a view of the ocean. The beds (twins) were comfortable and the room was nicely done. Everything was clean, and the breakfasts were excellent. The innkeepers were helpful and friendly. The location, with a path down to the beach, was wonderful, although it is on the main road, so it's not completely isolated, notwithstanding the name. I definitely recommend it.

Just spent 3 wonderful nights at this hideaway. At first I was taken back by my lack of cell phone service at the room but they had wifi so I wasn't completely out of touch After a walk down to the private beach and listening to silence I was thrilled I had no cell service When was the last time I just unplugged and took a breath I don't remember Oh did I mention they also don't have TV. What's that expression a Happy Wife is a Happy LIfe yeah insert that here Now don't run away yet as you drive around less than 5km cell service finds you again but to get away all you need is to turn in the drive park and return to your sanctuary just spent some time on the lawn with a book and look out at the ocean and smell the fresh air and enjoy peace Then there's the food breakfast was fantastic .Lori is the kind of cook that enjoys her job she cook inspirational tasty food not what you are going to get at a diner but food that tastes fresh and flavorful The view from the table is also fabulous. It was the kind of weekend get away that ends with you feeling like you got away thanks to our hosts
"Great Place, wonderful hosts"
05/12/14 Barry B Prince George, Canada
My partner and I stayed here in early May. We booked the place based primarily on the opportunity to stay just one night. Given what we learned on our first trip, the next time we'll be staying longer! Suffice to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful location, great amenities (including a place where we were able to cook fresh crab that we bought in Sooke) a fantastic room, and terrific hosts. We also enjoyed the short walk down to the beautiful beach that boasted some great wildlife and wall of fossilized shells. This is also a great jumping off point to beaches up island. We also quite enjoyed our tex-mex breakfast. Would highly recommend this spot, especially if you're up for the jaunt down to the beach.
We stayed at this lovely B&B in August. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the trail to the beach was just beautiful. We really didn't expect the beach to open up and be as big as it was. We took a day trip to Botanical Beach and enjoyed the scenery immensely. The breakfast's were well thought out and excellent. My husband probably could have even a bit more but he finished off the kids :) Overall, it was a nice holiday at short notice...felt like going to Grandma's house to relax.
"Peaceful and Relaxing"

Nice place; bed and room and bath very nice. Loved the touch of high powered binoculars in the bedroom to be able to look out into the straits and shore of Washington. Breakfasts tasty and a bit offbeat. Nice hike down to the beach. Area is a bit remote, so come here for relaxing. A few nice restaurants in town; you gotta find 'em. Some good hikes in the area, too. Potholes, the boardwalk, China beach trail.....
