"We stayed in January"
Nice hosts, charming spot. Just off well-maintained Coast Highway but remarkably quiet. Approx.14' x12' self-contained room, generous bed, private bath(tub and shower) with own exterior entrance . A reading nook with wingback chairs for my wife to read. Fresh Coffee and Tea. Downstairs is a separate communal kitchen for doing your own meals. Views of […] Ocean. The other side of the room has a locking door that gives to a hallway down which one comes on a rustic log meeting room. With a generous table and chairs set up for groups. West off Muir Creek, on a promontory with a path going down directly to a private wild pebble beach.Fun to explore, nicer to come right into your own private room for a hot shower and coffee. 15 KMs to shopping and restaurants in Sooke. Delightful sandwich/ homemade bakery in next door community of Shirley. Bon appetito. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A wonderful refuge for a tech-free getaway!"
Breakfast was delicious and the quick hike down to the water was well worth the workout to get back up! Wi-fi is available as well as a community PC and landline for those who need it, but no TV, no phone, no distractions in the quaint, eclectically decorated rooms make for a restful experience. A great place to reconnect with others or yourself - gorgeous […] views, kind people and a relaxed atmosphere to rejuvenate the spirit. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"outstanding hotel, worth to try out"
the surrounding is truly 'wildness', which is very cool. Also, the hot tub is a nice bonus for the stay, the price is also excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect Bed and Breakfast Experience"
Lori and Andy were super nice, the B&B was beautiful (but not frilly, as Andy pointed out), breakfast was awesome. We had a really great time here. We enjoyed the hot tub, walked down to the beautiful beach and watched some seals bask on the rocks. Would definitely recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great B&B, would recommend it!"
Lori was a gracious host and was helpful in suggesting fun things to do in the area and where to eat in Port Renfrew. It's a beautiful location, not too far from Sooke with a great view of the ocean down below.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great B&B, far away from almost everything. Classic ocean view from the spa tub. Great breakfast. Make sure you eat in Sooke, as there is nothing nearby. Paul B. Salmon Arm, BCGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"excellent retreat in a wonderful spot"
This hotel is gorgeous, with a short walk down to a wild stony beach with fossils in the rocks. It is 11km one way and 14km the other way to restaurants and shops, so I would suggest having an evening picnic at the site (there is a kitchen for guests) as it is seriously so lovely that you won't want to go out again anyway!
Nette Gastgeber!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Just spent 3 wonderful nights at this hideaway. At first I was taken back by my lack of cell phone service at the room but they had wifi so I wasn't completely out of touch After a walk down to the private beach and listening to silence I was thrilled I had no cell service When was the last time I just unplugged and took a breath I don't remember Oh did I mention they also don't have TV. What's that expression a Happy Wife is a Happy LIfe yeah insert that here Now don't run away yet as you drive around less than 5km cell service finds you again but to get away all you need is to turn in the drive park and return to your sanctuary just spent some time on the lawn with a book and look out at the ocean and smell the fresh air and enjoy peace Then there's the food breakfast was fantastic .Lori is the kind of cook that enjoys her job she cook inspirational tasty food not what you are going to get at a diner but food that tastes fresh and flavorful The view from the table is also fabulous. It was the kind of weekend get away that ends with you feeling like you got away thanks to our hosts
"Great Place, wonderful hosts"
05/12/14 Barry B Prince George, Canada
My partner and I stayed here in early May. We booked the place based primarily on the opportunity to stay just one night. Given what we learned on our first trip, the next time we'll be staying longer! Suffice to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful location, great amenities (including a place where we were able to cook fresh crab that we bought in Sooke) a fantastic room, and terrific hosts. We also enjoyed the short walk down to the beautiful beach that boasted some great wildlife and wall of fossilized shells. This is also a great jumping off point to beaches up island. We also quite enjoyed our tex-mex breakfast. Would highly recommend this spot, especially if you're up for the jaunt down to the beach.
We stayed at this lovely B&B in August. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the trail to the beach was just beautiful. We really didn't expect the beach to open up and be as big as it was. We took a day trip to Botanical Beach and enjoyed the scenery immensely. The breakfast's were well thought out and excellent. My husband probably could have even a bit more but he finished off the kids :) Overall, it was a nice holiday at short notice...felt like going to Grandma's house to relax.

Nice place; bed and room and bath very nice. Loved the touch of high powered binoculars in the bedroom to be able to look out into the straits and shore of Washington. Breakfasts tasty and a bit offbeat. Nice hike down to the beach. Area is a bit remote, so come here for relaxing. A few nice restaurants in town; you gotta find 'em. Some good hikes in the area, too. Potholes, the boardwalk, China beach trail.....
"Delightful and delicious stay!!"
We spent a week at this wonderful Inn! The highlight was the delicious breakfasts each morning. I travelled with my mother law and her gluten free diet was accommodated with expertise and a major yum factor. Location was peaceful, and serene with great views. I loved the hot tubs with a view of both wilderness and ocean. Beds were made up into 2 twins and were exceptionally comfortable with feather duvets and pillows. Very clean, bar fridge in room, a Krueger down the hall, and friendly service. Hope to go back.
"Love our time at Ocean Wilderness"
08/01/13 Lynn P Vancouver, Canada
We have been back twice now, the second time as part of an impromptu family trip using 3 different rooms. We arrived early and were allowed to check in without any problems. The rooms were clean and bright, we were a bit "rowdy" at night (the family who laughs together ... ) but we were directed to a games room where we could enjoy the laughter and special time together without bothering other guests. We had two small dogs with us and the garden entrance to the room was very appreciated for middle of the night "urgencies" for our senior girl. The breakfasts were spectacular! Lori accommodated everyone's quirky dietary needs with absolutely scrumptious offerings and directed us to local restaurants which would meet our needs for the other meals. We had a great time - a mix of young and old family members - and had both quiet times and good laughter. We'll be back :-)
"A perfect wilderness get away"

My wife and I have returned to Ocean Wilderness Inn three or four times . We have always been made to feel welcome and special by the wonderful owner/ hosts. The fact that the rooms did not have phones or televisions, for us, was a wonderful benefit as it is for those of all ages that love natural surroundings and romantic settings. There is access to internet and Wifi for those needing or wanting it. Ocean Wilderness Inn, as the name implies, is not in the heart of a large city, yet one of the most wonderful cities, Victoria, BC. is available for sightseeing, etc. just an hour drive away. We are former B & B owners, and we are very selective about where we stay. Ocean Wilderness Inn has it all; beautiful and comfortable rooms, access to natural parks, fantastic food and personable hosts. B
"nice owner, beautiful surroundings"

I lived this hotel with my fiance in the winter. It is quite and has nice surroundings. There is a way easily accessing the sea shore. The only inconvenience is that the hotel is a bit far from the cities. The owner is a couple and they are very nice.
"this place is not for everybody"
07/11/13 mylovelytravels calgary
we were quite disappointed with our stay, but we could see how it might be suitable for a different type of traveler. (i.e. relaxed older crowd who go to sleep early!). i wouldn't recommend it to young travelers or young couples. i found the breakfast disappointing and the room bare bones. we felt it cost way too much for what we got, but we just stopped in while traveling through for a place to crash for the night and were desperate. to be honest we didn't really feel that welcome when we walked in and felt more like a burden at somebody's home. we kept having to remind ourselves that we paid $200 to sleep there! in order to feel more comfortable. the view from the grounds isn't that great, but once you take the short hike down the trail and get to the ocean, it is absolutely breathtaking! definitely the highlight of the stay. it's got some pretty great reviews overall so again, perhaps it was just not the place for us.
"Peaceful and charming"

Only stayed here one night but would have loved to have stayed longer. The owners were welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. We stayed in the Pacific Panorama room, which was large, had a comfy bed and comfy chairs for sitting in to look out the big windows to the ocean. It was tastefully furnished. There is an outside hot tub at the top of a short trail down to the beach - very relaxing. The cooked breakfast was delicious. Definitely recommend and we'd love to go back.
