After staying at the Beacon B&B last year I was looking forward to a return, and I was not disappionted. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I've got several dietary restrictions and usually expect to fend for myself, but they created wonderful breakfasts for me sans wheat/gluten, eggs, and dairy. The B&B is wonderful, very clean, and located close to the ferry dock and Beacon Ave., which is the main commercial strip in Sidney. The one minor issue, which is not the fault of the B&B is that there is airplane noise from the Victoria Int'l Airport from about 6:30 AM to 10 PM. A really nice place. Perfectly located if you need to be near Victoria airport, but doesn't feel in the least like an airport hotel. The little town of Sydney seems very cute, but shuts down early so we didn't get to enjoy it since we arrived late and had an early flight the next morning. Reserve without reservaiton.

Beacon Inn was a most delightful place to wrap up a 10 day BC vacation! The staff and accommodations were wonderful. We wanted a location near the Victoria airport so we could make an early flight the next morning and this establishment fit the bill. Its location is situated not too far off the main thoroughfares. It is also close to a charming downtown […] area and the bay where we took an evening stroll after dinner.The Inn offered a relaxing Victorian atmosphere. Our rooms were designed for comfort and style. For dinner we wanted to go local instead of touristy so our host recommended Fish on Fifth. It was an excellent choice! When we returned our bed covers had been turned back and the shades closed. The room felt cozy and inviting. Since we needed to leave early the following morning, the staff made note and packed breakfast for us to take along. We would have liked to stay there, though, since the dining area had been set and looked much more relaxed than a breakfast on the go. I would very much recommend Beacon Inn! Plan on staying more than one night if you can since Sidney is a wonderful surprise of a town. It reminds me of how Victoria used to be in earlier days. Read more

I'm not a B & B fan because the ones I've stayed at before were not well-soundproofed, had insufficient bathrooms, and my allergies would act up. However, the Beacon Inn was very quiet, well-laid out, elegant, comfortable, clean and well-constructed. The bathroom had a wonderful soaker tub, also. The word "beacon" means; a guiding or warning signal. A beacon creates a safe harbor and The Beacon Inn certainly made us feel that way. A beautiful old home made into a desirable bed and breakfast. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and very comfortable in a victorian setting. I would recommend this B&B to anyone wanting safe harbor.
