Is this an impersonal inn or a hotel barely hanging on? Picture on website not indicative of all rooms. The most affordable stay for a family on the island, but in retrospect I should have spent more for a nicer hotel on the island or taken that same money and stayed in a major chain suite hotel options off the island but within 10 minutes. No help […] with bags available. There is one luggage cart available, and that has to be lifted up a curb and 2 steps to get it into the hotel. Front desk closes after 10pm. There is a thin line between charm and outdated. The bones of the place are strong, but the interior designs are a hodgepodge of incongruent furniture pieces that in many cases scream garage sale. Lots of velour furniture. All hallwaycarpeting is worn with ground in dirt. Rug in the rooms were worn - and not in that aged/charming sense. Kitchen, bathrooms, and beds are solid. Let me reiterate, the rooms are clean, but they don't look it. We have all experienced that in our homes - you just keep trying to clean or dress something up and eventually you just need to replace it? That's this hotel's interiors in a nutshell. No pool or spa services available. No room service. Restaurant only open for dinner. Gourmet market on premises with limited weekend hours. A/C units are LOUD! Internet signal very slow and intermittent at times. I was unable to stream clips on like espy.com and cnn.com, but I was able to watch Netflix though once the program loaded. Read more

Loved our stay. The hotel is quite charming. Our room was very clean & comfortable. The bath tub and shower wall need updating, but clean. The bath tub was old & very slippery when wet. The parking lot was full, but we were able to get by with on street parking. A really lovely stay and would like to visit again! Close to everything!

Picked this hotel because I like ambiance of older places. Overall it was perfect for a single female traveler. I arrived very late and picked up the key without trouble. Easy to find. This is a historic hotel. Very friendly staff, clean rooms and sort of romantic. My only complain is that the a/c unit is way too small for the size of the room. This is south Florida. The elevator will only accommodate two adults at a time....it is very small. Still we enjoyed our stay and would definitely go again.

My hotel experience here was fantastic. The location was perfect. A less than 10 min drive to the beach, a posh Publix next door, and an overall relaxing environment. I loved this property. Beautiful park across the street, Water on both ends of the block, I walked to the court house and downtown W. Palm Beach. Being on the Island for the money was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I will be back soon.

The hotel is in a great location steps from little shops and restaurants, the Lake trail, and a Publix supermarket. About two blocks from the beach and a short walk to the Flagler museum. It could use some upgrading in the bathroom and more cleaning in the living room part of the suites. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

A very pleasant boutique hotel in a most convenient location. Bathroom could stand some updating but overall the room was spacious and quiet. If you want charm and understand the maintenance challenges of owning and old home, Tths place is great. Staff was friendly but low key. We made our five night reservation acknowledging we were traveling with our pets. In fact, my husband checked in with the cat visible. Only when we were on our way to the room did a woman curtly ask whether we kept the cat in her crate as they were no longer allowing cats in the rooms. Fortunately, my son was able to have the cat at his apartment. I was not impressed at all. They did not have our room ready when we arrived. We had roaches in the room. The room could have been cleaner. There is not much room for parking. If you don't get a spot in the small parking lot you have to park on the street and then you have to move your vehicle every hour to avoid a parking ticket. The beach is only a short walk away and is VERY nice. Also, downtown West Palm Beach is a very short taxi ride away (less than $10.00), and my boyfriend and I even walked there […] one night. My wife, daughter (11) and I stayed here for a weekend. It's on the beach and VERY reasonably priced compared to other hotels which are across the street from the beach at best. We stayed in the ocean view suite which I highly recommend. There are pool view rooms, but there's nothing quite like waking up and looking over the beach at the ocean! The […] pool is relatively small, but it wasn't an issue because you're steps away from the ocean. There's a hot tub and an outdoor shower. Plenty of chairs around the pool. Relatively quiet. A little too much sun screen in the pool water, so we'd have to shower after getting out of the pool. The restaurant was nice. Suggest you get the breakfast plan included. I ate steak and eggs every day, our daughter ate for free and my wife usually ordered an omelette. All for $10/day. Staff was very professional and accommodating. This isn't the Ritz, but it is by far the nicest Holiday Inn. We don't normally stay at a Holiday Inn (no offense), but this hotel was the best bang for our buck. No other hotels around could match it, and the other hotels were much more expensive...and not on the beach like this property. There's a desktop computer in the lobby, so you don't need to bring your laptop. Wireless internet connection in the rooms, but the connectivity wasn't the strongest in our room. Our cell coverage in the room was also spotty at best which posed a problem b/c I work on vacation. Wake up, walk on the beach, eat, relax! Read more

The best thing about this hotel is the location - steps away from an excellent walking/biking trail and two blocks away from the beach, with Publix across the street and shops & restaurants also within walking distance. However, the hotel itself, leaves much to be desired. My overall impression is that they only do the bare minimum in terms of service, […] amenities and cleanliness, and charge much more than it is worth on that basis. Clearly, one pays for the location. My first room had dirty towels and linens. "Dirty" means stains & smudges on some, hair on others. Hair on the linens as well. This room was directly across from the elevator, which made for a very noisy night, so I moved to another room the next day. The staff was courteous, prompt and accomodating when I requested this change, which was appreciated. The second room had similar issues with the towels. I tried to sidestep those that appeared to be less than clean. Both rooms had a small but complete kitchen, which was VERY convenient. However the kitchen cabinet in the second room displayed the body of a squashed roach, making me wonder why housekeeping would neglect to remove it. I was too tired to complain (again). So yes - great location and the rooms are cute and very convenient. So why can't they go the "extra mile" and keep the linens and towels clean? And for the money, invest in some decent coffee?
