Nice location, right on the ocean. Hotel provided free continental breakfast but no other food service was available. However, there were a number of dining options within walking distance.

My wife and I loved it. We were able to walk to several restaurants and shops. Having the heated pool right off the beach was a plus for those cooler days. Great location. Well furnished room. Great view from our balcony. Staff was very friendly.

Drove 30 miles north to get out of town. Extremely surprised at the quality stay here. Large room, ocean view, easy access to pool, good breakfast, quiet location, easy beach access. We will be back.

The hotel ended up not having a room type that i booked and ended up giving me a room with a better view; an ocean front room which was awesome but with only one bed (i needed 2 beds)..the room was very spacious and for the most part very clean, the only issue was that there was a wad of hair on the shower wall. Walls are very thin... must have been next door to a newlywed couple Not exactly on the beach depending upon which room you receive...across the street at Ocean Palms, you get more for your money, plus a kitchen and only 20 steps or so from the beach.

The room was absolutely huge!!! I also loved the view of the ocean and kept my patio door open all night just so I could listen to the surf as I slept in my incredibly comfortable bed. I most definitely will stay here again should I return to Carlsbad anytime soon. Thanks!

The girl at the front desk was so sweet - she asked if we were there celebrating a specific event. When I told her it was my husband's 50th birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary, she asked what kind of wine we liked. He likes red and I like white, I told her, but since it was his birthday, we'd go with red. A few minutes later, there was a knock […] at the door and bottles of red AND white wine with two wine glasses were delivered. There was a nice note congratulating us on our 25th anniversary and wishing my husband a happy birthday. Very nice touch!! When we first walked into the room, we were amazed at how huge it was!!! We booked the oceanfront room and the view was second to none. We loved sleeping with the windows open, hearing the crashing waves all night long. We could watch the dolphins swim by and the surfers right from our deck. The hotel location is great - walk right up the street to the stores and restaurants. Great place - highly recommended. Absolutely the best view of the ocean however the noise level of foot traffic above us was disturbing as we tried to go to sleep. Being on the bottom level provided the direct site of the waves and people on the beach. However needed to handle three flights of stairs (no elevators).

When it says ocean front, it means it. The waves rolled in no more than 20 feet from our balcony. The room was spotlessly clean, very large. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and return. Just note that there are 3 flights of stairs to get to a lower level room, and only a few to the top level. The office is street level […] and it goes down the beach hill from there. So if you want fewer stairs, think higher floor. There are no elevators. Great! Especially if you like the ocean. Close to lots of restaurants and shops, massage parlors. Sets in a quiet family type community, everyone we met seemed friendly. Prices were very reasonable especially at the restaurants

I booked this hotel for the sole purpose of an ocean view and easy access to the beach, and it did not disappoint! An added bonus was that the room was very nice. Almost 600 sf., plantation shutters, beautiful bathroom and nice ammenities. The continental breakfast didn't disappoint either and one can either sit inside or on the terrace, both with a […] view of the ocean. Service was also excellent. When I arrived the staff offered to help me bring my bags up from the car. One day, I forgot to remove the 'do not disturb' sign from my door so my room wasn't serviced. I called housekeeping to let them know what had happened and asked for an extra blanket also. They were at my room within five minutes. Carlsbad Village is great, lots of good restaurants and places to shop, all within walking distance. Overall, a quiet, relaxing, peaceful time on the ocean in a very nice hotel.
