We stayed at 3 different hotels throughout our visit, and this was the worst. The concierge was not as helpful as at our other hotels, though not unfriendly. The room was very, very small, though clean. The biggest problem I had was the lack of water pressure. Water just dribbled out, so taking a shower was long and frustrating. Like many small hotels in Paris, Hotel Beaumarchais offers small rooms with comfortable beds and very small showers. Like many small Parisian hotels, too, it tends to privilege artsy and cheap "design" (in this case with gaudy colors) over convenient and easy-to-maintain furnishings. One would prefer less "effect" and more efficiency. For all its attempts […] at originality in design, everything looks cheap and not very sturdy... and not always well conceived. But the hotel is quiet, well located between two metro stations, and close to the metro hubs of Republique and Bastille, and is at walking distance of both. It is also at walking distance of the historic Marais, and the small staff is welcoming and helpful. For those who want to get away from the beaten tourist path, it is also located on the same block as the legendary Cirque d'Hiver, the world's oldest circus building (built in 1852), which is in season from October to March, and whose superb shows are worth a visit (not to mention the building itself)! while not in the thick of it it is very close to lots of places and easy access to the metro and bus. the place is cheerful and modern but the rooms/beds are small. it is nice to feel like you are in a real neighborhood and there is quite a nice market just a block or 2 away some mornings. the room can be a bit hot and i did not think the a/c worked […] but the french person i was with thought it worked. the staff was very pleasant about getting me a fan, which definitely improved the comfort. Great location but that is all that is great about this place. I checked reviews on hotels.com, trip advisor and it was recommended in Fodors. All were fairly good to glowing. Not so much. It seemed dirty. I stayed for 5 nights and I can't say for sure my room was cleaned every day - the bed was made and towels were exchanged, but the sink was clearly […] not cleaned, neither was the shower. It was hard to tell the original level of dirt in the room from the day to day cleaning or lack thereof. It had a safe and ac though which is rare in Paris. If you don't mind dirty, go for it. I would definitely stay here again. The Metro is literally right around the corner and there is an ATM between the hotel and the Metro. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Both were a bit small. But, I had not difficulty moving around. Our trip was great overall, but it was not fun to return home at night to a tiny, dingy room in an out of the way neighborhood. I understand that hotel rooms are smaller in paris than what americans are use to, but ours was absolutely tiny. The picture they provide must be of their largest room, except I don't know what that would be since we chose […] the more expensive double option. The mattresses are old and lumpy, the floors are strangely uneven and there's no water pressure in the shower. Also they claim to be in the marais district, but they're actually in the bastille. The marais is within walking distance. The staff was ok, the night desk clerk was the only one who was genuinely friendly and was willing to give us little extras like champagne glasses. This hotel is OK to just spend the night, but the lobby and the rooms are way too small to do anything else. Location is good, within walking distance of the Marais, Pompidou, etc, but also convenient are two metro stations. I would consider returning, but would also look for other alternatives.

When we first checked in, we were placed on the top floor and the room had no air conditioning as requested. However, the receptionist was able to find us a different room with air conditioning. Also, the in room safe was locked and had to be opened by the receptionist. The room itself was basic and was ok for our 3 night stay since we weren't planning […] to be in it other than to sleep. One good plus with the hotel was that it had free wifi. The elevator was tiny, the hallway smelled like oil based paint, and the shower had a very small partition that allowed water to get all over the floor. Other than that it worked out ok, but I wouldn't recommend it to someone who was expecting a lot from a Hotel. I think the descriptions and other reviews helped describe it well. We liked the location as it was close to Oberkampf metro station, within walking distance to many cafes and other areas (longer walk for main attractions, but doable), and bakeries nearby. The hotel staff was very polite and helpful, but the hotel itself was not well maintained. The lobby was actually dirty. The room was not spacious, but not as cramped as many Paris hotel rooms. The street was quiet and the area of Paris was reasonably good with several bistrots and bars nearby. The hotel is very close to the metro and numerous bus lines making it very easy to travel around. Lots of nice cafés very close and to a grocery store for small purchases. Hotel Beaumarchais was a very brightly painted hotel and the rooms were on the small and dated side. This said they were very clean and the friendlyness and service from the staff was excellent. Try the small bar next door for a night cap if you can.

We would certainly recommend the hotel for its convenient location .That said,we found the bedroom cramped and one would have to be a dwarf to fit into the bathroom!!! Hotellet låg väldigt bra med gångavstånd till det mesta. Området kändes lugnt och tryggt och bara några minuters promenad till hjärtat av Marais. Hotellets standard lämnade lite över att önska men med trevlig personal och bra städning vägdes det hela upp. Rummen är ganska små och badrummet också så har man behov av stora utrymmen kanske man ska välja […] ett annat hotell. Alt er meget småt. Det gælder både elevator, rum, badeværelse og den såkaldte "gårdhave", som endnu ikke var gjort brugbar efter vinteren. Der var en del larm til ud på de små timer fra baren Bob & Mojita og fra biler, som kan genere, hvis man har åbne vinduer. Morgenmaden var standard og forholdsvis dyr, men der er flere caféer lige ved, som kan bruges […] i stedet. Der er flere metrostationer i nabolaget, som gør stedet til et godt udgangspunkt. Hotellet är varken visuellt eller doftmässigt tilltalande, en kvav och instängd odör slår emot en när man kliver in i "lobbyn". Personalen var trevlig. Hissen var pytteliten och en ranglig spiraltrappa leder upp till de två våningsplanen. Det finns inget bagagerum, men de "kedjar fast väskorna i spiraltrappen om man vill"... Dubbelrummet vi hade var […] ok i storlek men väldigt kvavt och lätt mögeldoftande. Ganska slitet och ruskigt inrett i starka färger, men sängarna var sköna och vi sov gott! Lakanen hade några små mögelprickar dock... Liten tv, pytteliten dusch, väldigt liten garderob. Trots allt detta trivdes vi bra och var väldigt nöjda med läget, precis i utkanten av Marais, beläget i 11e. Lugnt område och jättenära till tunnelbanan. För priset vi betalade är vi nöjda med hotellet, dock kanske vi vill bo lite finare nästa gång vi åker till Paris. Read more

Je n'ai séjourné dans cet hôtel trois nuits. Le quartier est beaucoup moins bruyant le lundi soir que le samedi. La rue où est situé l'hôtel est pleine de bars et café qui amène des jeunes et du bruit. Pour autant, le est sympa. De kwaliteit van het hotel is eigenlijk precies wat je mag verwachten voor deze prijs. Prima kamer, prima bed, schoon en vooral goede locatie. Wat ons verblijf zeer onaangenaan maakte was een technische storing op zaterdag waardoor we zondagochtend geen warm water hadden om te douchen. Goed, één ochtend kan gebeuren, maar dan verwacht je toch dat alles […] in het werk gesteld wordt om dit op te lossen. Helaas, in het weekend hoef je geen enkele service te verwachten wat ons ook bot meegedeeld werd, dus maandagochtend wederom koud water.
