I loved the hotel. The rooms very nice and modern yet with character. Centrally located. Service could use a little refresher. A little kindness goes far. Lovely, charming courtyard.

Great location just minutes walking from the main square and the canals. Safe and quiet area, great for walking after dark to see the canals at night. If you are driving here, the parking in the central garage is also just minutes away walking, saving you the hassle of trying to navigate the numerous one-way alleys in the surrounding area.

Pretty hotel right near the Dyver canal and many sights. Unfortunately there was a major street construction project at the time of the visit, but the location is otherwise quiet. This hotel is a restored historical building that is beautiful in many ways, and the location in Bruge is perfect for seeing all of the major sights. It is within easy walking distance of everything. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast buffet was wonderful, but... I would not call this a 4 star hotel! First, there is no elevator. […] You have to carry your bags up a small narrow staircase to your room. Our room was large and beautifully restored, but the furniture was old and worn. The bed was flat, hard and uncomfortable. The bedspread was dirty on the underside, so we felt like we were sleeping in a dirty bed even after we removed it. Most of the light bulbs were burned out in our room (inadequate lighting for reading, etc.), and the TV did not work. The wireless internet was only available in the lobby, and at an extra cost. The only climate control was an old radiator in the corner that didn't work very well. No A/C in any of the rooms.....although I think they have fans available. Also, the day we checked out, they did not have any room available to store our bags. Our luggage had to sit out in the lobby all day. The staff assured us they would "watch it", although we were still very uncomfortable leaving our luggage because there was never a staff member at the front desk when we walked in or out of the hotel. It is not within walking distance of the train station. Take a cab. In comparison to many other European hotels, this ranks pretty low.... Read more

Tiny room (19), we struggled to place our 2 big luggages and ended up putting one under the desk in the room. No help by front-desk to move the luggages upstairs (no lift) which might be tricky, especially for elderly folks as stairs are quite steep and lighting isn't best as well. Shower-door is fixed on the wrong side (right), e.g. to enter the shower […] you have to open the bathroom-door 1st.. Breakfast was nice and plentiful. The hotel sits in the shadown of the cahedral, making it easy to locate, yet the street is very quite at night. The staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel is well located with a walking distance from major attractions. The building was a house from the bishop and is well kept. It really is a lovely hotel. The low reviews must be coming from people staying in the small cheap rooms at the top of the hotel. If you're going to stay in a 4 star hotel then at least get one of the mid-range rooms. You will not be disappointed. It's a great location and really quite (save for the Bruge bells!)The breakfast isn't extensive but the […] food that is on offer is really tasty. I was expecting the option of a full english (being from the UK) but I guess I shouldn't expect that on the continent. We had room 4 which was above the breakfast room so you could sometimes hear the music played and the furniture has some odds and ends but I was really really pleased with the overall feel. Again some people have mentioned that the staff can be rude or dismissive but perhaps that's because they just don't fall at your feet. We certainly had no problems. Read more

We stayed one night in this hotel, and we got what we paid for. The hotel and the room are clean, the bed comfy enough, and the bathroom was functional and pleasant. Since we were going for the lowest price we could find in the historic city center, this was the place to go. For the comparatively low price, we were on the top floor, up narrow staircases, […] in a room with sloped ceilings. It would not have been a good place for an extended stay, but I suspect that the rooms on the first floor are far less cramped than what we had. The location is excellent! We were just steps away from excellent restaurants, several of the historic plazas, across the street from the cathedral, and a five-minute walk away from a giant parking deck just outside the city center where we left the car. (15 Euro per day versus 25 in the hotel's own tiny carpark) Since we were in town for the chocolate festival, we didn't have breakfast at the hotel, choosing instead to have breakfast at the fest. Having come from a 4 star hotel in Ipier, the bedroom in this hotel was very disappointing, it was not like any of the pictures on the web site, we found it very small and dark with too much furniture, the bedclothes were clean but well used, including the blanket, no duvet. Hotel was very clean and comfortable, the food and drinks were very expensive, at 39 euros for a bottle of house wine. There is a lot of building work going on around the Hotel, starting at 7am, also a bit messy, apart from that I would definitely stay there again.

Hotellet har mange forskjellige typer rom. Fra et lite "kott" på loftet til ganske store rom. Vår oppgradering fra "kottet" til ordinært rom kostet 50 EUR ekstra pr. døgn. Vi synes og det var dyrt med 25 EUR pr døgn for parkering på Hotellets parkeringsplass, men vi så ingen alternativer i rimelig nærhet. Frokosten var OK.

Vi hade bokat för 3 personer ett dubbelrum med extra rum med enkelsäng men vi fick dubbelrum med bäddsoffa i samma rum. Annars var ger ett toppenhotell med god frukostbuffe samt bästa läget i Brugge

De l'extérieur il paraît charmant mais c'est autre chose à l'intérieur ! Chambre sale, cheveux dans les draps et poussière partout, les draps ne sont même pas changés en 3 jours !... Mobilier miteux et de très mauvais goût... Et la chambre était incroyablement petite. Comment un tel hôtel a-t-il pu obtenir 4 étoiles ???? Nous sommes très déçus.

Tranquille et personnel aimable, courtois, serviable, s'exprimant en 3 langues, s'intéressant personnellement à ses clients. Décoré avec goût et respectant le style de la ville. Très bien situé. Das äußere Erscheinungsbild ist sehr schön. Die Ausstattung ist geschmackvoll. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück war sehr umfangreich und lecker. Die Sauberkeit unseres Zimmer ließ doch sehr zu wünschen übrig. In der Dusche Schimmelflecken in den Fugen. Der Toilettendeckel war sehr fleckig (alt). Beim Öffnen des Fensters hatte man den […] wohl schon seit längerer Zeit schadhaften Fenstergriff in der Hand und schaute auf einen total verdreckten Fensterrahmen. Das Fenster ließ sich gar nicht mehr richtig schließen, nur noch anlehnen. Das Gitter im vorhandene Ventilator war voller Staub.Da es sehr heiß war, mussten wir ihn leider benutzen Auch waren die Ablageflächen sehr staubig. Das Bettlaken wurde am Morgen nicht glattgezogen, es wurde einfach nur eine Tagesdecke ordentlich drübergelegt. Very nice family run hotel well situated next to the Cathedral. We had a fairly small room but it was very personal, nice and cosy. Extremely nice breakfast served in the veranda or in front of the hotel. Exquisit restaurant.
