The hotel is right off of the Seawall path, which made it accessible to Stanley Park or down to Waterfront. The surrounding felt safe and secluded from all the busy streets of Robson. I reserved a junior suite and was given an "upgrade" to a harbor view. The Harbor view was just a standard room with a view. I specifically reserved a junior suite and was told upon arrival that there were no suites available. It is clear that the staff has no regard for customer requests and feels that they can just choose to move you to whatever room […] that is convenient for them. This was my first stay in a Westin and most likely my last. I don't like when decisions are made for me without my consent. Everything was okay, but nothing special. Staying at a Westin with Westin prices, I expected more. Good staff, fabulous location, nice lobby, terrific harbor view. Hallways dimmly lit. Carpets in the room dirty, towels small and thread bare, could not use gas fire place in lobby, walls thin but otherwise very quiet hotel, hotel restaurant cold, drafty, […] open, food good but the ambiance almost felt like a cafeteria. Restaurant, I guess during winter, overlooks the pool, not the harbor, (Steps away is The Lift restaurant, beautiful atmosphere, wonderful wine, nice music, better food and service.) Asked for extra rolling bed for 17 year old son, received it immediately. Were able to bring our two small dogs at no additional charge. View from every room is beautiful. Many places to hang out in the huge lobby with restaurants, shops, cozy seating everywhere to read and people watch. My favorite spots were by the fireplace and next to the floor […] to ceiling windows looking out onto the wildlife floating in the man made pools landscaped into the grounds with the bay and mountains beyond . A Starbucks inside the hotel which you can enter from outside or inside, an indoor and outdoor pool. The location can not be beat. Right on sea wall promenade. Closest hotel to Stanley Park an easy walk away or stroll in the opposite direction along the seawall all the way to downtown. If you tire of the restaurants in the hotel there are restaurants literally steps out either the front or back doors of the hotel right on the water. I would recommend the "Lift" with a beautiful bar and lovely views of the Marina. Did I mention there is also a spa on the premises. Everyone from the valet to the front desk was friendly and accomodating. I love Vancouver, and this is the best hotel to experience it from. For what you receive the price is a genuine deal. I always pay cash, and had pre-paid in full for three nights. On arrival, Hotel requested a Credit card. They accepted Debit card with reluctance (suggesting it was "cash"). They prefer Credit cards to protect themselves from guests who may depart without payment. My Debit card was charged $240.00 on arrival (to pay for services, dining etc.) which […] they refunded, in full. They also requested $70.82 for Valet parking. Without knowing, we stayed at this hotel 30 years ago for our honeymoon. The view was terrific looking out over the bay. We enjoyed just getting up in the morning and watching the sea planes take off and land, the boats move in and out of the slip, and the rowers practicing. The bed was so comfortable that it made it hard to get up and out in the morning. […] The concierge (Emily) was terrific. This hotel and the staff we experienced is not up to Westin standards. I have been Platinum member for years with starwood and have had more than 500 nights in Westin, so have an excellent benchmark. I love Westin (obviously) so am holding it to higher standards and this hotel was below par. To start, the hotel is aging and the building, room and corridors […] do not meet Westin criteria. Westin gave the lobby a cosmetic uplift some time ago (perhaps to buy some time) but really the decision should be to knock down this building and rebuild if from scratch as the location is fantastic. Check-in had a long line (which can happen I guess, but normally there is a gold/platinum desk, which I didn't see). Some reviews complained about excessive parking fees, but Vancouver is expensive to park, so I had no problems with that. Room service was absolutely dreadful. The prices (even for Vancouver are excessive). Bagel orOJ, $7, cereal for kids $6, etc and anything eggs related $20. We ordered 2 cereals for kids and got only 1 milk and when we asked whether this was enough, they said yes. It wasn't so we had 2 bowls with a little bit of milk, so called room-service to bring out another one. They didn't. We called about 15 mins later and they said they would and they didn't. Then after it getting soggy we called the 3rd time 15 mins later to let them know and remove the charge, they simply said: that's ok and not once sorry. The Westin Bayshore was very nice. It was within walking distance to Stanley Park and many restaurants. We felt like we were in a safe part of town and we were comfortable walking as it was becoming dark. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back.

Beautiful location! The hotel was very clean and upscale. The only thing I did not like was the communication.. I booked through hotels.com and paid for a room on the higher floors... when I checked in, they had be set up to be on the 3rd floor. When I questioned that, they re-looked it up and said "Oh, there was some miscommunication with Expedia. […] We can put you on the 9th floor." I believe there were 22 floors and was disappointed that I was only on the 9th. And I did not book with Expedia. So who knows how that lady go that information. After we were moved to a harbor view room, we spent time in our room relaxing. The slider was open and the AC turned off. Prior to getting this room the hotel told us that "Hotels.com" determined our original room and we got a room that looked onto a large expanse of gravel roof. No view. Since we traveled far for a romantic get away, we asked to change […] rooms and could not. This hotel is perfectly situated to see the harbor and to get around Vancouver. There were lots of complimentary shuttles to various locations around town and to the suspension bridge. Also is is within walking distance of the port terminal. Unfortunately we had a not so good experience with hotel service. Our room didn't get cleaned (we were there […] for two nights) and someone left an empty beer can in our trash can? Upon check out they gave us a credit for our $40 bar tab (the room was quite pricey). We had an additional charge of $48 for breakfast that they did not waive. The Westin Bayshore has one of the best locations in Vancouver. It opens up right on the boardwalk and is in the heart of the city. The spa and pools were in great shape and the staff delightful. It was a place we decided to return to as soon as we stepped foot in the room!

We loved this hotel location and how clean it was. The one annoying thing was that parking cost $41 plus tip. BUT you do have the option of self parking for $5 less or walking a few blocks and parking in a different parking garage for cheaper. Overall great stay!

The hotel entrance and lobby is very nice. The check-in personnel were very polite and knowledgeable. Our room was comfortable. My only concern was how we could hear the people above us...who had a couple of energetic youngsters...at 3am in the morning. When we called...the noisemakers were contacted and it quieted down. Clean, friendly, practical for families. The only complaint is because there was a group of loud,rowdy, intoxicated and vulgar guests at the swimming pool, we were obliged to leave the pool. This has more to do with guests, but hotel staff should look in to be sure some guest conduct doesn't adversely effect other guests. Brought my kids to Van for the weekend. We were at the Aquarium and Stanley Park, so Westin Bayshore was convenient location. Everything about the hotel is top notch. They were very accommodating, letting us check in early. I had twisted my neck somehow so was in lots of pain, so the valet parking was helpful, as was the super comfy bed and hot tub […] for getting me up and going the next day. Parking a little pricy at $41/night for valet service, but hey you deserve to be treated first class! Dissapointted that they want an extra $15 for in-room wireless, but do have free wifi in lobby. No locks on bathroom door in my room, which is not great if you have kids or want assured privacy. The view however was spectacular, and the glass doors opened up to the outside, with a balcony, for a very breathtaking natural experience. Yes, worth the money. Read more

We checked in very late at night. The location of the hotel is great (we know the neighbourhood very well). The staff were superfriendly and the lady at check-in upgraded us to a great room with a harbour view. We were happy and satisfied overall with our stay. I would rate the hotel 4.5/5.
