The management is very professional and welcoming. The rooms supply all your needs, fridge, aircon, microwave, plasma t.v. Updated bathroom. Could use better lighting in bathroom for mirror. Pool kept nice and clean. My room was on the ground floor near the office and the maintenance closet so it was a little noisy but overall it is quiet. Is a short walk to the boardwalk. We never used our car. This was the second time we were there. It's like a Hyundai. You can't beat the price for what you get.

Enjoyed the stay. Only having stayed at many Courtyard facilities, I was a little disappointed not to find a frig, micro etc, in the room. Bathroom sink area a bit smaller than most. Other wise a nice stay.

We stayed for four days and had very enjoyable time. The hotel is near shopping , points of interest and walking opportunities. The park like setting with swimming pool is very attractive and restful. Complimentary breakfast is convenient and adequate. Overall, avery nice experience.

good staff. in need of updating rooms (furniture), expand breakfast menu (add bagels, sausage or bacon).

Situated in Santa Cruz, Continental Inn is close to Pacific Garden Mall, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and Main Beach. Also nearby are Santa Cruz Surfing Museum and Town Clock.
Hotel Features.

"Good location"
Hotel is about 2 blocks from downtown SC, and a short drive from the beach boardwalk - very convenient! The hotel room was very nice - bathroom had granite tops and shower - flatscreen plasma TV, nicely furnished. My only complaint was that the top layer of the comforter on the bed had a big hole in it - but I don't use it when sleeping anyway so it […] was just an aesthetics thing. Rude staff, tiny rooms. They refused to provide me with extra pillows and blankets and was not willing to go the extra mile what so ever. Do not go there, you will be dissappointed.

"beautiful hotel for a very low price."
Doesnt look like the most outstanding hotel on the outside, but dont judge its book by its cover; the inside was amazing. For a king size bed, the comfort was okay. recommend getting top floor rather than ground floor. "Friendly place - but get room on 2nd floor"
Really appreciated the staff at this hotel. Informational, attentive - really tried hard to make us feel wanted and welcomed. "Boutique" room was cute, remodeled but the comforters needed a face lift. Nice flat tv's, desk provided and amenities in bathroom, free wifi, but wish we could have rented a movie through the tv. All in all, cute place..but […] the noise from the 2nd floor kept me up till about 11pm and woke me up at 8am! Then the construction started... front desk says there was none, but I heard the drill clear as a bell. Think there may be places closer to the boardwalk than this hotel, but not a bad deal for the price and free breakfast. Read more
"Great location and quality, cleanliness of room"
More motel than inn, Continental delivered everything it promised. The clean, relatively spacious room with flat sceen TV, mini fridge, in-room coffee maker was perfect for my one-night stopover in Santa Cruz. For those seeking luxury, look elsewhere. "No Parking!"
Overall the hotel was one of nicest in the area for the price. The inconvenience was not worth it. Having to check-in across the street and the actually sleeping rooms are on the other side of the street. When you book. Make sure you specify your sleeping room in the same location / building as the front lobby and breakfast lobby. "Unexpectedly nice"
After some unpleasant experiences at hotels that were not a chain (and some that were) I am very cautious but this time we had to run to Santa Cruz at the last minute and not many choices were available. "nice, comfy room not too far from the beach"
The Continental Inn was a nice stay. Just a basic room with a hot tub and pool onsite also. It's a good location in that it's only a little less than a mile walk from the beach/beach boardwalk, a short walk to downtown, and a short drive most places in Santa Cruz. Overall would recommend it as an affordable place to stay
"Nice room but parking is awful"
The room was nice and clean and comfortable but having the office across the street is inconvenient given the traffic, etc. Parking is pretty inadequate - I barely squeezed my compact into the last reminaing space under the building. "Reasonable value"
Pleasantly refurbished hotel. Convenient location. Passable breakfast (fine for the price). Just outside the room was an gurgling drain that was annoying in heavy rain, but overall we were satisfied. Photos were sufficiently representative.

"Wonderful value"
Had a great stay at this hotel. They put a lot of money into making the rooms quality. Easy to find and impressed with the value.

I found the hotel to be a reasonable value. The hotel is old but they have done a nice job refurbishing and redecorating the facility. Completely unlike many older units in Santa Cruz.

"schnuckeliges Hotel"
wir haben unsere erste Nacht einer Rundreise in diesem Hotel verbracht und waren begeistert. Das Zimmer ist hübsch eingerichtet und sauber, das Auto steht sicher auf dem Parkplatz des Hotels. Wifi gibt es umsonst. Super war vor allem das Frühstück, denn es gab Obst, Joghurt und Müsli

"OK but not outstanding"
Too far from the beach and the Wharf, but the closest one with adequate parking facilities. Breakfast and breakfast romm is best forgotten. Other than that: Fine
