The only problem was the young female staff member at 7:00 AM Saturday, April 13, 2013. She did not have the breakfast room door unlocked at 7:00AM, so I had to go to lobby and she was full of nothing but excuses. She was probably ready to get off from nigh shift and the last thing she wanted to do was wait on customers.

I stayed at the Continental Inn for two nights, Friday through Sunday. I was able to check in to my cute room a little early so that i could make my appointment on time. They were very helpful at the front desk. My room was just what i wanted, a cute, safe environment with a flat screen tv, cleans shower with bath, a mini fridge and a closet so that […] i could hang my jackets. I slept well and enjoyed being able to watch what i wanted. I will definitely be back and would recommend the Inn to my friends, families and anyone who wants to stay in a great location. This was my first stay at this hotel. It was a surprise to find this hotel so clean and comfortable. Though the room is small for a one queen bedroom, the room has a microwave and a refrigerator. The wood floor also makes the room like a home. I will definitely come back for my weekly stay.

Had no problems or issues with the place. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. We got there a little early but they still let us in to a room. Bed wasn't made up yet, so they sent someone to make it real fast right away. Comfortable, close enough to downtown Santa Cruz, half a mile, could have walked if wasn't cold and rainy.

We found the room comfortable and clean and breakfast was very good with lots of options to chose from. The location was within walking distance of the downtown area. If you wanted a pool to sit by or swim in you'll have to look elsewhere - there is no pool which was not a problem for us. There is an above-ground small hot tub.

My room was clean, the staff were fine. It wasn't too loud, but the breakfast room is tiny, don't expect waffles, and if you use the waffle iron and the microwave at the same time, you will short circuit the hotel. So be careful. :)

Did not book a location to stay until the week before. I was a little worried about not being familiar with the hotel and booking a room at the last minute. However, we were very happy with the room and loved the hardwood floors. It was a nice place to celebrate our 23rd Anniversary :) Close distance to the board walk, enjoyed the walk.

We were VERY disappointed in the Continental Inn. I had read all of the reviews on Hotels.com and chose to go with the better reviews. Not a good choice! The picture on the website shows a room with hardwood floors and our room had a very old and VERY dirty rug. Also, the coffee table had a large chip in it and should be replaced immediately! We had booked the hotel specifically because of the location and that there was a hot tub but the hot tub turned out to be disgusting. The "jets" were only bubbles coming up from the seat and the water was luke-warm and filthy. You could see dead skin cells floating in the water. Check in was easy after-hours, we had to wait 10 minutes to get checked out because there was not anyone at the front desk. Hotel is about 2 blocks from downtown SC, and a short drive from the beach boardwalk - very convenient! Really appreciated the staff at this hotel. Informational, attentive - really tried hard to make us feel wanted and welcomed. "Boutique" room was cute, remodeled but the comforters needed a face lift. Nice flat tv's, desk provided and amenities in bathroom, free wifi, but wish we could have rented a movie through the tv. All in all, cute place..but […] the noise from the 2nd floor kept me up till about 11pm and woke me up at 8am! Then the construction started... front desk says there was none, but I heard the drill clear as a bell.
