This is the third time I have stayed at the Royal Scot in the past. year. Found it to be an ideal place to stay and the convenience to all amenities very handy. On my next visit to Victoria I will definitely stay here.

PROS - Great service, the front desk was very helpful. Room was better than expected from exterior appearance, direct bus route to downtown at front of hotel and taxi rates were only about twice the rate of the bus.CONS - the cafe food was very poor and the only blemish on an otherwise decent establishment. A 3.5 / 5 overall

Location.
Outdoor enthusiasts and golf aficionados flock to Westin Bear Mountain Victoria Golf Resort & Spa, located 15 kilometers north of downtown Victoria, British Columbia. The cobblestone lodge is set amidst the fairways of the 18-hole, Nicklaus designed, Bear Mountain Golf Course. Victoria International Airport is approximately 28 kilometers from the resort.
Property Features.
The rural Westin Bear Mountain Victoria Golf Resort & Spa features natural surroundings and mountain views. Guests interested in a vigorous hike can trek half a mile to Mount Finlayson, or may choose to enjoy spectacular sights from the fairways. The hotel features a number of restaurants, including the Copper Rock Grill, Master's Lounge, and Panache. The Finlayson Conference room accommodates up to 12 for meetings and banquets. Hotel also has spa services at its full-service health spa including beauty treatments, facials, and body treatments (children must be accompanied by an adult). Resort guests may enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at Copper Rock Grill or may share golf stories on the Sunset Patio. Room service is available for guests who choose to dine privately.

Guestrooms and suites include designer toiletries and bathtubs fit for relaxing bubble baths. Guests may also anticipate natural slate flooring, complimentary high-speed Internet connections and views of the golf course or Mount Finlayson. All guestrooms feature kitchenettes or equipped kitchens with wood cabinets and separate dining areas. Suites include fashionable, comfortable living rooms and armchairs.

Copper Rock Grill - Located in the resort clubhouse; large patio overlooks putting green. West Coast cuisine featuring seafood and local ingredients. Menu items include crab cakes, cedar-plank salmon, and grilled filet mignon. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Casual.
Panache - Fine dining. Gallery kitchen. Terrace with views of 18th green. Open Wednesday-Saturday. Dinner only.
Master's Lounge - Rich leather seating, relaxed ambience. Tapas bar serving drinks, snacks for lunch and dinner.
Adjacent to the hotel is an 18-hole championship golf course co-designed by Jack and Steve Nicklaus. A clubhouse with pro shop; a health club, and pool are on site. Please note: children must be accompanied by an adult in the fitness facility, spa, the health club, in the spa tub, and in the swimming pool.
The hotel is two km (1.25 miles) from All Fun Recreation Park (surcharge), which offers water slides, a go-kart track, batting cages, and miniature golf. Five km (three miles) away, Goldstream Provincial Park has hiking trails.

"Nice resort in a ghost town"
We had an enjoyable time at Bear Mountain, the resort is beautiful and the rooms were clean and luxurious. Don't waste your time in the mineral pool. The pool was outside and obviously hadn't 't been maintained since the summer. There were leaves and slime on the edges of the pool. I had a nice spa treatment though. Wasn't impressed with the $15 a day […] resort fee that Hotels.com neglected to mention!! The biggest disappointment was the ghost town feel of the mountain. Many shops were closed down and there wasn't anything to really see or do up there. Read more

I booked four rooms for out of town employees, and all of those involved couldn't say enough about the rooms, the hotel and the service. While the location is beautiful, it is fairly isolated and a good distance from the downtown core. Further, there are not a great selection of quality restaurants nearby. This is a great hotel close to town but away from the bustle. If you love golf this place is perfect. A wonderful course. But my love and I spent the weekend here to get away by ourselves. Westin Bear Mountain is awesome in all respects! We dined at Panche which was as good as I have had anywhere the world. Don't think twice about this facility. It is world class!
"Will Go Back"
Have stayed here twice now. The standard rooms are large with a limited kitchen (basics for toast and coffee or reheating something). The bathrooms are large with separate shower and soaker tub. The gym and pool area are nice and well kept (though in a different building, so you need to go outside to get to them). The front desk staff are great, we […] had a hot water problem whle trying to bath our son and when we notified the front desk, they apologised, offered to open up another room for us (which we declined) and gave us a credit for the resort fee for the entire 3 days of our stay. This was followed up with an apology card and an offer of a fuure deal and upgrade. They could not have done more. The only real glitch is house keeping. Both times that I have stayed here, it seems that they just haven't figured out how to clean a room. Often they leave dirty dishes or generally just fail to do anything. This last stay, I left a tip on the pillow on the first night and voila, the room was clean. I forgot on the second and go figure, the room was left pretty much untouched. We would have complained, but given how nice they were about the hot water issue, we decided not to. Overall great place, a bit out of the way, but do you really want to be in the over crowded tourist trap area anyway? PS...do not go to the sushi rest beside the hotel, it really really sucks. ヴィクトリアにほど近いので、ヴィクトリアに住む富裕層向けにコンドミニアムを販売するための建設がところどころに進行中で、ホテルもできたばっかりという感じでした。わたし達は、川を上るサーモンの群れを見るためのスポットにほど近いということでこちらに1泊することにしました。何を思ってか、宿泊客は数えるくらいだったにも関わらず、通された部屋は、赤ちゃん連れのファミリーの隣、ドア一枚でつながるコネクティングルーム。フロントの人間の完全なミスでしょう。隣のお部屋の人の話す内容まで分かるくらいの状況だったので、部屋を変えてもらいました。別のフロントスタッフの対応でしたが気を利かせて、部屋をプレミアムにアップグレードしてくれ、その後は快適に過ごすことができました。
