"Would not stay there again"
My husband's first thought was that it was Section 8 Housing. We had the misfortune to share the hotel with bikers who did not need to sleep. And when we left the next morning, the hotel staff refused to give us a receipt for our stay showing what we had been charged. Motel not bad, but needs to have maintenance work done. Probably needs renovation. Only real complaint was did not have enough outlets in room. Rest not bad, just needs updated. "Hotel falling apart"

"Just a place to stay"
I came to KC for a concert and just needed a place to crash for one night. This did the job for cheap. The room wasn't dirty, but it could have used some maintenance for sure. The toilet seat was pealing paint, one of the shower knobs was very loose, and the light over the vanity didn't work at all. "Not one to complain...but"
Our room was clean, but we had to fill the tank with water from the ice maker bucket in order to go to the bathroom (so we could flush) Also, our remote control wouldn't work (not a big deal). 3 out of the 5 lights in the room didn't work, one of those was a heat light that my boyfriend had to twist in to turn it on and twist out to turn it off. There was pubic hair in the bathtub and the hot water for the shower stayed on for about 1 minute thirty seconds. Thin pillows and even thinner towels. "Decent place to sleep"
We opted for the price range of Econoline because we had to stay for several days for a family event. We arrived very late for our queen room reservation. When we opened the door we noticed that there was white powder sprinkled on the carpet and as we turned to walk out I saw that the curtains were hanging in shreds. I don't know if we understood correctly but I got the impression that that room was assigned to discount rate customers. "it's a dump"
Good enough for one night, but not any more than that. Wouldn't stay again unless i absolutely had to. Says pet friendly, but then they tell u that they "prefer" animals under 30 pounds, but since we booked it online they didn't have a choice to let me stay with my 120 pound dog. Honestly, I booked this hotel because others were not available, and I was pleasantly surprised! I looked at other reviews that were not good, and keeping in mind many people will write a negative review when they have a bad experience, but not a positive review when they have a good one, I went ahead and made the reservation because I needed a place […] to stay. The hotel is old but it is maintained. It is a motor inn--many of the room entrances face the parking area. But the room had good black-out curtains, and I did not notice any car lights shining in at night or excessive noise from the parking lot. The bed was very comfortable. The furniture was adequate, and the room had a small refrigerator and microwave. The sink was new. There was plenty of hot water in the shower, although the shower head was hung a little low (old building, remember?). Something I noticed--there appear to be two properties combined onto this one site--the EconoLodge and a Roadway Inn. The breakfast is for EconoLodge guests only, and probably for that reason you are not allowed to take any food back to your room, as the signs all over will tell you. There is a reason this hotel is ranked last out of the 9 hoyels in Blue Springs. The room was reasonably clean. The matresses are relatively new and the water was hot. So that's it for the good. No on to the bad. Shower is only good if you're under 5' tall. Short on the towel supply, sketchy permanent residents, terrible breakfast spread. The orange juice is coloured water at best. The so called vending/ice/laundry hasnt been cleaned inwhat seems like months. On the way to get some ice I passed a room door that appeared to be banged on with what looks to be bullet holes. I really hope that is not what they were.There is an odd odor from the moment you walk into the lobby. The rooms don't smell any better. Travelling a long way with two small kids we needed a place to stay. I really wish I had gone anywhere else. The secuirty flood lights had no bulbs in them. Didn't help making me feel safe. There are many other negatives and I could go on, but I think my point has been made. Stay elsewhere, please.

The hotel (Rodeway) is run down, there are some interesting permanent residents here, things don't work, and the staff is rude and hassles guests over everything. The only good thing here is the WiFi. Stay somewhere else.
"Unacceptable Stay at Econo Lodge"

I had initially made a reservation for one night, but decided to stay an extra night instead of driving home due to distance. I made the changes on Choice Privileges since that is where I made the first reservation. When I arrived at the hotel around 3pm, I found that my reservation was all messed up! They had put me on the second floor, when I had requested first floor due to medical issues. After calling the manager, the desk clerk said that there was no other room available. I took the room because there was no other available due to events in the area. 1) The stairwell to the second floor is sadly in need of replacement, rusty, paint peeling, and not safe. 2) The room was small, ceiling tiles needed to be replaced. 3) My reservation confirmation said that I would have a flat screen TV - it was the old bulky type, and very few channels. 4) There was to have been a pillow top mattress - if it was -it was a very old one! Not comfortable. 5) There was no hot water in the shower no matter how long I ran it. Thankfully, it is hot weather, so I managed to get a shower. This hotel was supposed to have been doing updates on the rooms - I saw no improvements, and definitely not what my reservation confirmation said the room would be like. I decided not to stay the extra night since I was not comfortable there. When I went to check out on Saturday morning, I was told by the two male night desk clerks, that I could not check out until 0600! Now, a hotel can tell you when you can check in, but they definitely can not tell you when you can leave!! I don't know what the problem was with that! They printed out a bill, that came to $175.46 - I told them that that was not the correct amount and that I would not pay it! My first reservation was for 53.99/night, and when I changed it to two nights it went up to 75.99/night! I did not sign a receipt saying I would pay the charges, I told them I was not going to pay that amount at all! One of the clerks said that when they figured it all out, they would only charge me the 53.99 charge for the night. When I arrived home, I checked my bank statement, and they had charged me the 175.46!!! I immediately called them back and told them that they needed to reverse that charge to my account. The night clerk told me that it would be reversed in 2-3 business days!!! I told him I wanted it reversed immediately, but he kept insisting in 2-3 business days. I called my bank and was told that since they had already sent it through that I could not stop the payment, but we could dispute it if they did not reverse the charges. DO NOT STAY at this Motel at all!!! Watch your bank account to make sure you were charged correctly.

Definite communication barrier with staff. Staff is not friendly Outlets didn't work. Tv didn't work. Can hear every car and conversation outside your door so don't plan on getting any sleep. Shower was terrible. Had to ask for towels. Toilet backed up and had to call 3 times before someone showed up but they still did not understand the problem. Make sure to bring your own pillows. There really is nothing positive to say about this hotel. You get what you pay for.

It was extremely cold outside and it didn't help that there was cold air leaking in all around the door. We turned up the heat because it was so cold. Then it was too hot. The TV wasn't too great either. It did work but considering it was a flat screen TV... I won't be staying here again. It was a disappointment to say the least. Wen you are tired you sometimes just pick the closest place to stay. I think it was a mistake to stay here.

You should only stay here if you have no other choice. The property is run down and the heating/cooling is poor. We were there in early January and the outside temperature was below zero. The heater in the room had no temperature sensing capability, it was full out or you had to turn it off to keep from basically burning up. The shower was only lukewarm and the carpet in the room was old and dated.

Not sure this is the right hotel but they have the same address and appear to be the same building. The east end appears to be a Rodeway Inn and is almost inaccessible from the highway. All you see is the Econo Lodge sign on the west end of the building. Whatever it's name, it is the lowest price around for a reason. Without going into great detail, I had booked it on the internet, checked in and once I saw the room (and the other guests hanging around) I left and stayed somewhere else. If you want the absolutely lowest price this is the place. Otherwise I would pay $10-$20 a night more and stay in something less iffy.

The beds were the highlight of the stay there!! We had stayed in two other motels in town with terrible beds, and we paid a good deal more for the rooms. Econo Lodge had the best beds. All the front desk staff were so helpful and friendly. When we left the 1st time, they ask if we wanted the same room again. The rooms could have been a little better, but all we wanted to do was have a good nights sleep and we got it. Hey, did I mention they had great beds? :-) They breakfast were what you would expect for the price. Have and will certainly again.

I tried to check in to this place and they ran my credit card. Then they said it was declined and they needed another credit card to charge me again. In the age of internet when a person can check on credit card transactions instantly--you don't get to lie and try to defraud people.
