We received a 'spring break' special in April and it was a very fair rate. The room was a good size and very clean and modern. We learned that the city of Moscow does not rise early so we enjoyed sleeping in and have a relaxing complimentary breakfast! my husband recommends the little pancakes for breakfast he said they're the best he ever had! I however really enjoyed the smoked fish! We found our stay in Moscow to be somewhat difficult and taxing due to the language barrier so coming back to this hotel in the evening was extremely relaxing for the traveling mind! the staff all spoke english very well and were extremely helpful! I 100% recommend this hotel. It's also very close to the subway.

This was a very nice medium sized hotel. The location was good, about a 20 minute walk to the Kremlin or a short metro ride. The breakfast was truly excellent. Above all, the staff were extremely helpful and spoke good English.

I got a great deal (in terms of typical Moscow prices) as a 'web special'. Also, the free breakfast was very good and helped with the overall sticker shock of Moscow. I did have one dinner at the hotel, and the food was acceptable but not worth the price. Also, $15 for a simple vodka on the rocks seems excessive. I doubt that anyone goes to Moscow for the food, so next time, I'll just stick with fast food at 10% of the price. The staff all spoke good English, even the wait staff, and were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was stylish and everything was clean and functional. I liked the heated floor in the bathroom.

The hotel is located about 3 blocks from a main Metro station which is very convenient. The neighborhood feels very safe even at 3:00am in the morning. The staff is fantastic, the front desk all speak english and are very friendly and helpfull. I did not speak a word of Russian and they wrote out many requests on paper for me to show around town and had a great attitude about helping me. The gym is really just 3 cardio machines and I did not try the sauna but it looked very nice. The free breakfast is incredible!! All you can eat of high quality traditional fish, fresh fruit juices, your choice of eggs (prepared fresh in the kitchen), and a couple of side dishes, breads, meats etc. all served in very nice dining room. I had such big breakfasts in the morning that I never ate lunch while there!! I highly recommend this hotel if you can get it at a good rate (I paid half of the usual price). I have't stayed in hotels with equivalent normal high rates so can't give fair comparisons to high end hotels.

Do not pass this information around because it is a well-kept secret. Golden Apple Boutique hotel is within walking distance to Kremlin, Red Square, also many museums and restaurants. Pushkinskaya/Checkovskaya Metro station is 150 metres away. Taxi service readily available. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, caring about each visitor. All speak English well. Predominantly a European businessman's lodging, it has a wonderful breakfast, restaurant, bar and concierge services. Heated floor in bathroom is standard. We saw few Americans but were most welcomed.

I stayed at the Golden Apple from 5/3/08-5/7/08. Overall the hotel was very nice. The front desk service was excellent. The room was a bit small, but very comfortable. The room came with a buffet breakfast every morning. There was a large selection of smoked fish on the buffet, and great fresh fruit. I ate lunch at the bar in the hotel one of the days. I ordered a smoked turkey sandwich which came on four tiny slices of bread with one piece of turkey and one piece of cheese. The cost for it was about $22.00. Crazy! I used the sauna which was nice, and the jacuzzi which was cold. (not nice) The exercise room was small with only a bike, cross trainer and treadmill. If the price was right, I would stay there again.
