We took the airport shuttle to the drum tower from the airport, and we had trouble catching a cab, although several folks offered to take us to the hotel for an exorbitant price. Once we found someone, they drove us straight to the hotel (behind the former Hyatt Regency--now changed names). Most of the staff spoke little or no English, but Jilly was […] great--she showed us our room (which she had upgraded). King size, but typical Chinese bed (hard). Hotel is on bus lines, so easy to get around. Lots of restaurants and stores in the vicinity if you are OK with not speaking Chinese. We did not eat in the restaurant at the hotel. This is a very good hotel, it is located in the inner walls of the ancient city of Xian. There are 2 managers, and ther are there to help foriegners. They give you a map of the city, and a set of instructions on how to take the bus to get to locations, if you choose not to walk. Most things are within walking distance of the hotel. Menues in the hotel […] are in English as well as in Chinese. If you are going to do any tours, do it through the hotel. Just talk to any of the 2 mangers, they will help you with anything. It's 7 mins walk from the nearest subway station (Andingmen). Room is VERY simple, but if you just need a place to sleep, it's a good, economical choice. Receptionists spoke English and were helpful.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. the staff were helpful although their English was quite limited. Didn't manage to find the coffee bar which was supposed to be in the lobby. The views from the room were disappointing at best. There was no safe in the room and when we asked about a safety deposit box the staff had no idea what we wanted.

We had a great impression when arriving at this hotel and the front desk girl spoke almost perfect English and walked us to the room, provided us with some information about the city but sadly we never got to see her again, nobody spoke English and neither dare to pick up the phone after seeing the room # calling and knowing you spoke English, very […] irritating and had me a few times coming downstairs to ask to speak to someone who could understand me, sometimes they called people out of the hotel to translate. Location is pretty good, walking distance from markets and lots of stores, restaurants, busy area, Drum and bell tower, city wall, very convenient. Room seemed pretty good at first, but shower didn't work and we had to get it changed a couple of times, Toilet plugged up terribly at the same with the sink and it was happening all the time! worst thing, nobody wanted to pick up the phone or understood our problems, until I yelled that I needed someone who speaks English, finally they figured it out and got someone to phone me, they sent a lady (yes, she didn't speak English either but at least got that the issue was the shower) then they sent a guy to exchange it. Internet didn't work. This place would be ok only if you're patient and ready to deal with bathroom issues and people not understanding that something is happening to you. Overall, the location and service was good. Jilly and Joy were very helpful. The counter staff, cleaning staff and security did their best to assist me. The only issue I had was withthe toilet. At times it did not flush well. I will be back to Xi'an.

Old kind of Hotel with big rooms, need a good maintance-shower heads,sinks. Only a very few Front Desk staff can speak English(or understand). Close to public Transit. Breakfast is 15Y and Chinese orientd will be gone very early. English B'fast cost more money and takes time.

Da vi skulle checke ind, var personalet ikke glade for at servicere os og de talte meget dårligt engelsk. Vi brugte 3 timer på at finde hotellet! Og da vi ringede til hotellet sagde de, de lå bag Hayatt, men det kunne vi heller ikke finde... Så vi vadede med fuld opbakning rundt i 3 timer. Til sidst måtte hotellets personale komme og hente os, men det var de heller ikke helt tilfredse med. Men ellers var hotellet okay.

mein freund und ich sind um ca. 10 uhr in xian angekommen, wir sind vom bahnhof zum hotel gelaufen. das hotel liegt in einer kleineren seitenstraße etwas schwieriger zu finden, die lage ist trotzdem sehr gut. wir konnten problemlos vor 12 einchecken, nachdem sie das zimmer gesäubert haben. das zimmer war sehr sauber, außer dass die spühlung des klos […] nicht funktioniert hat ( was sofort behoben wurde) und das die betten etwas hart waren, war das zimmer für den preis TOP. das restaurant in hotel war gut und nicht teuer. leider konnten nicht alle angestellten englisch, dafür gab es aber eine kostenfreie assistant hotline. L'hôtel est bien situé. Le personnel insiste un peu trop pour que les clients utilisent leurs services (exemple : transport pour les visites). Nous avons voulu annuler une chambre sur les deux réservées par internet mais cela a été impossible car réservation effectuée par internet !!!
