"Comfy bed, free shuttle & wifi..."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
I liked my overnight here. It's quirky but not charmless. Called for a complimentary pickup from the roadway just outside MAD Term 2 using my mobile (Americans: make sure your phone is enabled for intl calling BEFORE you depart the U.S.). There's signage with a few dozen hotel numbers including Best Western Hotel Villa De Barajas. Remember you'll need to dial the country code "+34" in front of the rest of the number. A van was dispatched and arrived quickly. The check-in counter inside the tiny reception area feels rather like a car rental kiosk. Check-in was quick and my questions were answered efficiently. I found the room to be smallish but very clean and the bed firm, as I desire. The bathroom, also small, was nevertheless a standout: spotlessly clean, modern and with good shower water pressure. There were a few English-speaking tv channels, as I recall, but when I landed on CNBC Intl (financial news) my wish had come true. I had takeout from the Chinese restaurant across the road, pretty good. Overhead halogen lights above the bed in Rm 204 could possibly sear your retinas. I didn't have breakfast in the room adjacent to the lobby but complimentary freshly brewed coffee dispensed from the machine in the bar was excellent. I'd stay again.

"Perfect Location, fantastic accommodations"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The location, cost and accommodations were great. A few steps away from a major square, metro and tons of restaurants. We could not have asked for anything better. In addition, their was WiFi access in the room.
"conveniently located"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
this is a small boutique hotel within walking distance to the royal palace, several restaurants, bus station, across the street from the metro and near to a small market. the internet was free in the room, (first place on our trip, others were free in the lobby). the restaurant in the hotel appeared to be very expensive so thank goodness for the other close by restaurants. there was a bit of broken glass on the floor when we arrived and a hair in the bathroom, but otherwise the room was clean and fairly comfortable. all in all it was a fine place to stay.
"convenient for sight seeing and nice hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Overall nice stay. I would stay here again.

A down-at-heel central area in the 1980s, Chueca is now the fashionable gay heart of the city. The Plaza de Chueca is its epicentre, with countless terraces, bars and clubs in and around it. The surrounding streets are packed with cutting-edge shops and restaurants as well as traditional tapas bars. Don’t miss the Museo Municipal on Fuencarral, with its fine baroque entrance and Habsburg treasures within.

Hotel was very clean and comfortable. The location was awesome; the staff extremely friendly.Although the neighborhood was not posh, it felt very safe at night and the street was lined with small, lively and pleasant restaurants. There is also a bakery that had good breakfast, and, after discovering it, we never visited the Starbucks that was across […] the hotel. I would go back there without hesitation. Read more
"Great Location, One Issue"
Hotel is in a great location and convenient to public transportation, the Gran Via and the Museums. The staff and cleanliness of the property was great. The only issue I found with the hotel is that I was put in an inside room facing a courtyard. Air circulation was poor. I had to keep window open as the air conditioning is set at a setting I found […] warm so circulation was important. Just ask for an outside room Read more

"An absolute pleasure"
The Lusso Infantas was a brilliant hotel - lovely rooms, fantastic location but it's best asset was the lovely staff. Helpful and friendly - I would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to others.
"ggood location , average property"
Very pleased with the location of the hotel The room was pretty basic.certainly not luxury. The bed mattress was a little too hard for my tatse, The best feature in the room was the small balcony. The staff were reasonably friendly. The breaksfast in the morning was a good spread. Would recommend but because of the location, otherwise nothing else particularly […] special. Read more
"Location, location-lot's of activities around"
Great places to eat and drink. Walking distance to many tourist attractions. Some shade areas around with some professorial girls/men a few blocks away, but not to bad.
What a perfect hotel. Price was great staff was so friendly and helpful. They even overheard us talking and heard it was my Birthday and when we returned back to the room found a bottle of champagne and tiny little card for my Birthday. The room did get hot but im sure if we asked someone would've told us how to adjust it. I called the front desk about […] making calls and they always helped and also with Internet password. Never once had an issue with that Internet worked great. Wonderful location to everything. First time in Spain. Read more
"Fine Hotel"
My stay in this hotel was perfect in that it was located centrally to all that one would hope to see in Madrid. The room was clean and comfortable and plenty big for this traveler. And, most importantly, very quiet for a hotel situated in a busy metropolis like Madrid. I gladly recommend this to anyone and everyone.
"Great hotel, perfect location too"

"Great location and nice rooms and bathrooms."
This hotel was located in a convenient area. Close to the Gran Via, Metro Stations, Chueca and restaurants. The only problem I had was the room was way too HOT...you could not adjust the thermostat. I kept the window wide open! It was 86 degrees in the room while it was 30 outside!! Other than that, it was a nice hotel!! Would stay there again!
"Lusso Infantas"
Good hotel in good location. Front desk upgraded my room but acted strange when I asked for regular coffee the first night. Due to my free upgrade, that was not possible - strange. Otherwise, the hotel is walking distance to the Metro, grocery store nearby too.
"Amazing location"
We stayed at the Lusso Infantas for 7 nights and truly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect. There were so many restaurants and shops and even though we ate 4 times a day :-) there was always somewhere new to try! I loved Chueca! We would definitely stay there again!
"You couldn't ask for better"
The Lusso Infantas hotel is a small (4 floor) hotel where you matter. The staff was very kind and knew who we were by the second day of our stay (just from coming and leaving the building). There was free wi-fi, an excellent bathroom/bedroom, breakfast was good (considering finding things open in the morning is difficult in Madrid) and the price was […] exceptional. In bang for the buck sense (price was cheap too), I don't think you can get better. We stayed at the Vincci Arena too and it was nothing to phone home about. One of the best hotel experiences I've had and I wind up traveling frequently! Read more

"Excellent Service & Location - good value"
I would definitely stay at this hotel if I visit Madrid again. Professional and friendly service - good location and very clean rooms.
"Lusso Infantas in Madrid"
Great location in central Madrid near the La Chueca neighborhood; 2 blocks from Gran Via but on a quiet street. Near Metro. Spacious room and bathroom, very up-to-date. Public area of the hotel small but neat. Only negative was that the bed was overly firm and uncomfortable.
This was the third time I have stayed at Lusso Infantas. I was thrilled that some of the same people were still working at the desk because they are just so nice and helpful. The room and bathroom were spacious. And, next year when I go back to Madrid I will be staying there again.
"Excellent stay"
We enjoyed our stay in Madrid. The hotel staff was excellent and the area and rooms were spotless. The location was good- a little off the beaten path. I would choose a room on a higher floor since we were on the first floor and could hear a lot of street noise. Would definitely recommend!
"Lusso Infantas - Nice enough but NOISY"
Stayed four nights. Friday and Saturday nights were almost unbearably noisy, as hotel sits right on what is apparently the gay bar strip of Madrid. Asked to change to an inside room, but was told all twin bed rooms face the street. Night desk clerk, very friendly; morning desk clerk, not friendly at all. Location adequate if you don't mind a bit of […] a walk to subways. Pillows flat as a pancake, interiors a bit worn. But, certainly clean enough and a good price ..... if you can somehow find a quiet room. Read more
"Lusso Infantas"
We stayed at this hotel during our stay in Madrid. The hotel was in perfect location and extremely clean. Rooms are good size, although they do not come with all the amenities you find in US hotels (iron, chest drawers, etc.). We walked everywhere, Plaza Mayor, Prado, Mercado San Miguel, Plaza Santa Ana, as well as in Latina and Lavapier. A block from […] the hotel there is a local bakery, La Panaderia, which had the best pastries and fresh-squeezed juice. We had breakfast there every morning. For Starbucks aficionados, there was one right across the hotel. It came handy the morning we left since the bakery was not open (8:30am is too early for Spanish businesses). The hotel is located in Chueca, which has plenty of good restaurants and bars. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Read more
"August 2011. Great location price and nice room"
I was worried after reading all the reviews but i couldnt be happier!! We had two interior rooms on 2nd and 4th floor. Aircond was great but did tur ln iff when u left the room. Loved this hotel. Clean, city size room, decent bathroom. Great location. Easy to walk to anywhere in Madrid central. Bring earplugs- streets are noisy with Madrid night life. Would stay here again.
"Good boutique hotel. Hard to find, though."
This hotel was very good overall; it's clean and centrally located. The room was well-equipped. Also, though overpriced, the breakfast buffet was very good, with a range of local and international items. For the budget-conscious, there is a Starbucks across the street--and there is a very good supermarket several doors down the street. The service, […] however, was minimal--which one would perhaps expect from the tiny little reception desk they have... The staff is definitely more helpful, when you make an attempt to speak Spanish. All in all, this appeared to be the best hotel in the Chueca area. I will definitely stay again. Read more

"Beautiful boutique hotel"
This is not a 5 star in terms of traditional luxury, deserves a 5 because of it's helpful staff, cleanliness, beautiful wood floors throughout, reasonable rates, and unusually large rooms (by European standards). Location is very good. I could easily walk everywhere. It's not in the heart of a popular plaza, but it is across the street from a Starbucks. […] The only minor problem I had was that the wifi does not work well. That would have been bad i needed to work, but I was on vacation, so it wasn't a big problem. I highly recommend this hotel. "GREAT LOCATION"
Location, location, location - cannot say enough how great the location is of this hotel. Close to everything. We were also supprised by the size of the room - very confortable. I definately recommend this hotel. One of the staffs is not very helpful - she has to google an attraction I was asking for direction.
"Great place to stay"
We stayed at the Lusso Infantas for two nights. The hotel was great. It was easy to find, with great access to the metro. Check-in was easy, they gave us complimentary maps of the city which was helpful. The room was as pictured. The only thing that I would give the room a minus on was temperature control. The AC stopped working when you weren't in […] the room, so it would heat up by your return and take quite long to cool down. We like it to be a little cooler than it was when we sleep, but it was far from unbearable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hotel in Madrid. Read more

"Lusso Infantas"
This hotel was just fine for us. Its location is excellent. We had no problems and would gladly stay there again. The staff was very helpful.
"Great Location Great Hotel"
This hotel has everything at a great price. You can walk to just about every major attraction, even the Airport express bus stop. The hotel is very attractive, clean and comfortable. The rooms are good sized and look recently redone. The staff was very helpful. It's only downside becomes apparent in warm weather. The level of noise from the street makes […] it impossible to sleep with the windows open. I would suggest they get ceiling fans because there is considerable street noise 7 days a week, yes even Sunday night until 4 - 5 am from bars in the area. While shutting the windows did greatly reduce the noise, the rooms do get a little stuffy in warmer weather. They don't keep the AC cool enough. A ceiling fan would have made it much more comfortable. Read more
"A near perfect Stay in Madrid"
First let me start by saying that I struggled giving this fantasic boutique hotel a overall rating of 4. It's close to a 4.5! Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. We bugged them for directions and dining suggestions and they quickly obliged. Myself and my wife feel a genuine personal attention from their staff down to their cleaning ladies […] and front desk personel. Rooms were adequate in size and are spotless. Bathrooms were nicely appointed with a personal kit box they provide. Little touches like these make or break a guests experience. Hotel really show great pride and sincerity to thier guest. The vicinity is perfect, close to metro, hot tourist spots is just a walk away. In conveniently located to everything (barber/salon in chueca), stores for water/snacks, aeroport bus shuttle near Cibeles roundabout, good Resto from budget and fine dining. I definitely will be back next time we are in Madrid. Muchas gracias, Lusso staff! Read more

Excellent. Worth it's value. Location, location.. For us who travel to Madrid frequently. A starbucks across the main entrance. Easy acces to Metro. Just ideal. Moder European bathroom, state of the art.
"A pleasant experience"
We stayed at the Lusso Infantes twice during our trip and we were quite satisfied. The hotel is a good, not great, boutique hotel. If you go in expecting the Ritz or even a downtown convention hotel, then you'll be disappointed. The Lusso is a nice, relatively small hotel with unique, but generally clean and attractive rooms, limited services, and an […] eager to please staff (something that should not be undervalued in Madrid). We were on the third and fourth floors, respectively, during our two stays and we found both rooms to be comfortable and generally clean. TV options were limited, but we didn't spend much time in the rooms. The only problem we had was when the rooms got warm and we had to open the windows; the street noise is definitely noticeable. The hotel is located in a transitional neighborhood (Chueca) that had some really nice restaurants and clubs and a number of buildings that are boarded up. We walked around a lot at night and never had any problems, however. There are two metro stops within easy walking distance and you can access just about all of Madrid's major tourist sights with ease. The Lusso has a Starbucks across the street so if you need your American coffee or tea fix, it is easy to get. All in all, this was an excellent choice for us! Read more
"Great rooms!"
I really liked this hotel. I stayed in 3 different places during my 8 night trip to Spain and this hotel was my favorite. The hotel is conveniently located (just off Calle de Alcalá), nearest the Banco de Espana Metro stop. The hotel itself is an older building that has been renovated relatively recently. It's not enormous, but includes a restaurant […] and a cafe/bar. The public restrooms just off the lobby are very nice and clean. Our room was on the first floor (one floor above the lobby) and was amply-sized, clean, modern, with plenty of space in the closet for clothes and luggage. The two twin beds weren't luxurious, but they were comfortable and the hotel offers complimentary pillow service, with 3 options. Just be sure to request early, as the pillows can be spoken-for by evening. The TV actually had a few English language channels, which seems to be uncommon in Spanish hotels. I believe each room has a balcony, too. Ours overlooked the side alley, so if that would bother you, try to request a room on the front of the building. Neither is going to have a fantastic view, however. My favorite part of the room, though, was the bathroom. It was huge! I find bidets awkward and unnecessary, but there was one, if that does anything for you. The shower was nice and easy to use. There's some sort of heater on the wall (maybe a towel heater or clothes dryer?). Most importantly, though, was that the bathroom door actually locked (also apparently uncommon in Spanish hotels). The interior of the hotel itself is very nice, with beautiful hardwood floors and comfortable chairs and sofas located throughout. I'm no connoisseur of hotels, but the Lusso Infantas met all my expectations and requirements. I have 2 minor complaints: 1. the hotel seemed short on staff members. Drinks came slowly in the cafe, as it seemed like whoever was working had to leave for 20-30 minutes at a time to cover some other part of the building. 2. the balcony doors/windows don't do a very good job of bl Read more
"Great location and staff, attractive room"
Attractive room, great bathroom, helpful staff, and a great location. Only downside was the huge amount of dust and particles under the bed at check-in. I found the front desk staff to be very helpful in answering my questions. There is a mini-bar/fridge in the room, but it is mostly full. You could probably stick a few things in there though. The bathroom […] also had a bidet, if that interests you. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there again next time we are in Madrid. Read more
"Lusso Infantas, Madrid-great hotel, great location"
Very nice hotel. Beautiful hardwood floors, nice beds, but a bit on the firm side. Our room was typically (for europe) on the small side, but the bathroom was unexpectedly quite large. Both were in top shape, seeming to be recently rennovated, modern fixtures, very nice. Being two short bocks from Gran Via we had good access to the city but no traffic […] noise to disturb our sleep. Dined at the hotel one night, which as good as well - I had a scallops, shrimp, seafood dinner that I really enjoyed. A Starbucks is across the street if u love your coffee. Read more
"Lusso Infantas Stay"
This hotel was situated in an ideal location for seeing Madrid in a few days. The room was small, which was not a big deal in Europe, but is was very noisy. We were situated near the stairs on a low floor and it sounded like a heard of buffalo every time a small group was heading to the lobby. Also, we could hear everything going on above or beside […] us, so my travel partner, who refused to wear ear plugs, got very little sleep. There was a Starbucks across the street, which was great, as the breakfast was not included in our stay, but the immediate neighborhood was not real safe in our opinion at night. The good news was that you could walk a short block and be in the heart of the city and completely safe and close to almost everything. I am not recommending this hotel because of the noise factor only. Read more
"LUSSO INFANTAS"
EVERYTHING YOU SAID IN THE REVIEWS AND MORE. THE STAFF WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL WITH HELPING US MAKE FUTURE RESERVATIONS. THE PRICE WAS GREAT FOR THE LEVEL OF HOTEL ACCOMMODATION.
"Great location and wonderful staff."
I spend ten days at Lusso Infantas. The location was perfect for daytime sightseeing and for the nighttime entertainment around the Chueca area. I can't say enough about how friendly and informative the staff was. Throughout the day, and night, I would often have questions about how to get to certain locations, or even how to say certain phrases in […] Spanish, and they were always very helpful. My room was nice and clean. The bathroom was nice, but it took me a little while to get use to the shower. I only had breakfast at their restaurant. It was very good with a nice variety of foods to choose from. I will definitely stay there again when I return to Madrid. Read more
"Good hotel for the price, great front desk"
Beautiful, classic building with remodeled modern interiors in the central Chueca area of the city, two short blocks to the iconic "Metropolis" building on Grand Via. Bathroom, and the deep bathtub, were particularly superb. Lots of electric outlets for PCs and chargers. I had very good experience, except I got an interior room upon check-in. Given […] I had a 5 nite stay, I really wanted an exterior room with a Spanish style balcony. Loly at the Front Desk, was GREAT. She moved me to a spacious room on day 3 and was so helpful in everyway! Only one minor drawback about the room. Most hotels of this (4 start) calibre (at least in other cities of the world) do not use traditional bedspreads. All have moved to duvets with washable white covers. Read more
"Lusso"
Good deal for the price. It would be better if they had a pool but its in a good location if you want to see Chueca and walk down the main street of Gran Via. Good restaurants and shops nearby.
"Jewel of a hotel in Madrid"
The staff at the hotel were most helpful. The room we were in was very clean and comfortable. There is a restaurant in the hotel that looks quite good. However, we did not try it out as there were many restaurants close by the hotel. Location of the hotel is just great, as it is within walking distance to most of the tourist attractions, and we did […] not need to use the metro (underground train). Also, the hotel is close to a metro where you can catch a ride to the airport. Will definitely stay at Lusso Infantas again whenever we are in Madrid. Read more
