"Practically perfect in every way"
The B&B is spotless. Alberto was wonderful. The room we had was not conducive to "hanging out" in - one hard chair and a bed to high to get into. But, it was clean as a whistle and we were rarely in the room! Between the living room and the outside patio, there were several beautiful spots to read and relax. 2 blocks from beach and 4 blocks from restaurants, […] clubs, stores, etc. I enjoyed having breakfast at one large table in the dining room - unusual but interesting. Breakfast was decadent... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"English Bay B&B"
This is our 2nd time at English Bay with 2nd time under new ownership. Alfredo (house manager) met us at the door and was most friendly and accomodating. He gave us ideas of places to eat, things to see in the West oend of Vancouver. The breakfast meals were well prepared and most certainly ample. Eggs Benedict day one and a quiche on day two with both […] meals added fruit and muffins. Check out was easy. Though we used public transportation and didn't need Alfredo's help, we do know that he graciously helped another guest with taxi reservations. Alfredo always had a smile on his face and truly made us feel welcome during our stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Inn-credible English Bay Inn"
Great location near Stanley Park. Excellent food and service. Thanks, Alberto!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Lovely hotel, wonderful service, and a fantastic location. I will definitely return!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
From the moment we arrived, Alberto was the most gracious host. Our loft room was wonderfully appointed and access to the garden, from the fire escape, was a treat. With an evening glass of wine under the gazebo who would of thought there was wildlife in the city.....you'll have to find out for yourself! From enjoying a complimentary glass of port in […] the formal living room to the exquisite breakfast, where the conversation with other guest flowed effortlessly, we had an amazing time. The location was perfect with a short stroll to English Bay where the music of young musicians filled the air. This was our first B&B and we're afraid other B&B's might not live up to this standard. We will absolutely be booking here again. Cheers Brenda & Barret Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This delightful, character-filled B&B is tucked away in a quiet, tree-lined street in a perfect Vancouver location adjacent to bay-front and the magnificent Stanley Park. Beautifully furnished interior. Top marks to manager Alberto too for his exceptionally pleasant and helpful approach. "unique and well placed"
Overall excellent- staff (Alberto)very welcoming and helpful in every way, Room clean and comfortable. The Inn traditional and homely in style although a litle squashed between larger blocks.Lovely garden back and front(former very private) and breakfast individually prepared and served - more than we could eat.Ideal location close to English Bay and […] restaurants/shops in Denman St. Due to change of ownership our booking had been lost so only had 2 nights instead of three but owner arranged excellent alternative accommodation for third night paying the difference in cost. They could not do more. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We stayed here for three nights just after we flew in from Sydney. It had been a long flight and we weren't expecting the reception we got! John and Annette who were hosting for the month welcomed us in with open arms and smiles and comfort. The room was beautiful and warm and the location is right where you need it for proximity to shopping, Stanley park and also for the water. This little BnB gem is nestled between apartment blocks and is an escape from what can seem a rat-Race in Vancouver. I cannot wait to stay here next time we are in Vancouver!! Thank you so much!
"A pleasant experience"

The location of the inn is super impressive. It is quiet and peaceful and at the same time quite near to the important places like the Stanley Park and then the views is pretty good from the rooms as well. The rooms are well maintained and well provided for and the hosts were friendly and helpful that we never had any trouble during our stay and in fact we got a perfectly relaxed and soothing stay. A well deserved holiday break to be fair. I loved the location, the food and the service at the place and most importantly the price was perfect too.

We had the good fortune to stay at the English Bay B&B recently. What a find and all thanks to Trip Advisor. So much better than staying at a corporate hotel and more than comparable on price (ie it was a lot cheaper). The B&B is well situated in English Bay and it is not far to work to most places in Vancouver downtown - Stanley Park, Coal Harbour, Canada Place, the ferry to Granville Island etc etc. We like walking and did not use public transport at all except for the ferry to Granville Island and across to North Vancouver so we could go up Grouse Mountain. The B&B is charming, well-maintained, in a lovely tree-lined quiet street. We stayed in the loft room (number 5) with a sitting room downstairs and huge bedroom and bathroom upstairs with a lovely fireplace. The bed was so comfy I wish I could have brought it home and the bedding was really high quality, all making for an excellent night's sleep. The breakfasts were amazing - fresh, plentiful and different every day. Alberto the manager was around for the first couple of days and was utterly charming. He then headed off on a well-earned break and so Annette and John took over and they were equally fabulous. We really enjoyed chatting, learning about each other's countries and generally passing time. All three gave us great tips on where to go, places to eat etc. We will definitely head back to the Inn next time we are in Vancouver. To stay anywhere else would be silly!

"Fantastic Inn; Great location"

I stayed at this Inn for a couple of nights in October, and it was one of the better stays I've had in Vancouver. It is an independent bed and breakfast, so there are a few things you don't get as with a regular hotel. But the tradeoffs are well worth it. Check in: Because it is a B&B there is no concierge. I had to check in late but this was no problem at all. I had emailed the hotel directly to inform them, and they set me up with the pass to the door and clear instructions as to what to do and who to contact in case of any issues. The room: I had the Courtyard room - it was small but perfectly fine. Very comfortable and quiet. Completely enjoyable. Breakfast - the other B in B&B: this was really fantastic both days. Alberto, who is the General Manager, also is a very accomplished chef. While I had to have a quick breakfast on my first morning due to meeting schedules (which Alberto accommodated well), the second day I had the luxury of a leisurely breakfast. The food was fantastic - fresh fruit, delicious coffee, followed by an egg and bacon extravaganza (egg salad on rye toast, with bacon on the side). The English Bay Inn is great value for money, excellent service, and a really great location. English Bay is a bit away from the downtown core, but it is very pleasant to walk about, is very close to Stanley Park, and has the added bonus of being mere blocks away from the Banana Leaf on Denman, my favorite Vancouver restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel.
"Charming hotel great service"

The English Bay Inn (not to be confused with the English Bay Hotel) is a charming bed and breakfast hotel located near to Stanley Park and English Bay. Easy walk to the downtown shopping areas. Very convenient for wide range of good restaurants, huge variety of ethnic and Canadian places to eat. The rooms are not huge, but have charm including things like four poster beds. There is a nice outdoor area to sit. The service was great, checkin was normally 4pm but when they heard we were flying in at lunchtime they suggested early checkin which was really useful. Breakfast was good, the service at breakfast was very friendly Alberto cooked a very tasty omelette and seemed very aware of the guests food preferences and allergies so tailored things to suit. The breakfast experience was interesting as it was served in the dining room with all the guests (7 when we were there) sharing a table which made for good conversation. There was also a separate table for two in an alcove if you are on a romantic couple trip or not a morning person.

We visited here this summer and found the location to be the best reason to stay here. The other guests were delightful and we enjoyed talking with them. No in room coffee or tea and no kitchen privileges were a drawback.

We recently stayed at the English Bay Inn during our trip to Vancouver. Our stay was absolutely amazing. We arrived early in the morning, way before check in, and the staff was very accommodating to get our room ready as soon as possible and called us when it was done. Alberto went out of his way to help us find our way around town, make suggestions on places to visit and help us arrange transportation. The breakfasts were amazing! Every morning there was fresh fruit and juice prepared and the dishes were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants an intimate place to stay in a great location. We will certainly be back.

The location of the English Bay Inn is perfect. A lovely walk to Stanley Park and the seawall. Our host, Alberto, was charming as well as an amazing chef. We spent three comfortable nights here topped off by the best three breakfasts we've ever experienced in our B&B stays throughout the world.
"Magical location; charming property."
08/12/14 Lucinda P Sydney, Australia
The first thing which strikes me about this property is the location at English Bay. Surrounded by technicolour gardens and minutes from the beach, eateries and walking distance from central Vancouver this location is ideal for somebody who wants to be close in while still in a residential district rather than downtown. Rooms were spacious and tastefully furnished. Hosts extremely helpful and went out of their way to be of assistance. Full silver and fine china breakfast and great variety of foot. Comfortable pubic spaces given there are only 5 rooms.
