Riad Dar Mimouna - Marrakech

Our first trip to Marrakech and its definitely not your typical town! Taxi was 150 Dh (after much haggling from 300Dh) and that got us to the street, then we had many offers to take us to the Riad. Note: get small Dh currency from change office to pay people. The Riad is down what seems like a scary alley and not that far in, but the locals always take […] people too far to another Riad with almost the exact same name. Everyone we met had that problem. The owner of the other Riad was kind and walked us back to where we should have been. The front desk man spoke English and got us situated, and made us mint tea. Yum! The Riad only has 10 rooms and the stairs are a little steep. They have tiny bathrooms and beware: the doors in ours were swinging doors so not a ton of privacy. We had to wait about 5-7 min for hot water in the shower but it was great pressure and HOT. The water does tend to get everywhere. There is a window in the room that opens to the courtyard for fresh air, and there is a thermostat in every room. We stayed 4 nights. Free breakfasts 7:45-9:45 on roof were great: coffee or tea, assorted breads with butter and jam, fresh squeezed oj, and two days were was a sweet yogurt, the other day we had breakfast was a cup of chopped fresh fruit. Depending on other guests, you may experience some noise. Our last night a man checked in late and he was LOUD. We could hear him talking in his room. They have a hammam on the roof, it was weird. But we signed up for the massage (€200Dh) for 30 min) and it was outstanding! No modesty so be prepared for everything to get massaged! We met another couple staying there and they agreed, best massage. There's also a dinner available on site if you sign up early in the day but we never did. And laundry service available. The main square is about a 15 min walk and I thought we'd be killed going the first night in either traffic or by hoodlums, but that didn't happen :). Comfortable room in a large riad. It was right next to a hospital, but quieter than we anticipated, very safe feel and easy to find. The manager gave excellent directions around town and helpfully arranged a taxi to get us to the airport at the end of our stay. The rooftop terrace is nice for enjoying the sun, but has no real view to speak of. The room […] itself has excellent temperature control - ac and heat. The only thing that could have been better was the addition of a shower curtain or a more directional shower head - the bathroom was nice, but the rain head type showerhead sprayed water all over the floor. This Riad is beautiful, it is clean, and the staff is excellent. I had a wonderful time here for two nights and would definitely go back. The bed, pillows, and sheets were very comfortable, and very clean. The room was very authentic Moroccan, and decorated beautifully. The plumbing was phenomenal, the water pressure was good, and there was hot water […] (too hot at times), but you have to wait about 3-5 min for the water to warm up. It's not instant, but once you get it, it's HOT. There are no tv's in the rooms, and I found this very relaxing. The windows only face the interior of the hotel, which some reviews complained about, but I found it nice, you got some air without the dust and noise from outside. Because it's all stone, and there's an innercourt to the hotel that your window faces, there is some noise with people waking up early or checking out early in the morning, but it didn't bother us too much, we fell right back asleep due to the comfy bed. Someone did mention a smell, which worried me prior to our departure, but I think it's a water smell. It doesn't smell like sewage like others have said, it just smells a little musty, in your room, especially after a shower, which kind of makes sense since there are no windows to the outside and you're in the desert. This riad was incredible. Very comfortable, close to all the action, and very reasonably priced. Ashreen, the hostess, is possibly the nicest woman in Morocco. Food and service was outstanding. 10 min walk to the square Djemaa Al-Fnaa. We went during Ramadan, so everything happens after the sun goes down. Before 7pm, ghost town. From 7pm to 3am, packed […] with thousands of people and sites to see. We were worried initially, after reading some negative reviews of the medina experience, but luckily, nothing untoward happened. The locals were nice, and left us alone. Simply walk away from overly aggressive types. The only thing I would recommend, is do not go to Marrakesh in August. Too hot! I loved my stay here at this Riad. It is a great value for the money and close to the main square. I felt badly about how loud we may have been in the room.

Conveniently situated within easy walking distance of the major sights. Lovely interior courtyard and nice roof terrace where breakfast is served. Not a luxurious place but very pleasant and rooms were atmospheric. Basic breakfast of breads, fruit juice, yoghurt and utterly vile coffee. Staff were very friendly and helpful but it does help if you have […] a little French. Only quibble was the narrowness of the room meant we had to climb over each other during the night whenever we needed the bathroom. Location excellent. Getting there. A challenge with Taxi drivers trying to con us. Travellers should organise transfers with Hotel directly. Pay no more than 100 DR Shower dripped when others in Hotel were using water the same time. Air con didn't worked. Service was good and always with a smile. Stayed here for two nights, 10 minute walk to the big square and not too hard to find in the Medina (some places are labyrinths). Decent place, would return for the price

The first few minutes after getting out of taxi were a little worrying being dropped in a dimmly lit street and told the riad was down a dark narrow alley luckily we meet another couple heading our way who were staying at the same riad so they showed us the way without them it would have been dificult to spot. Once inside it was fantastic, real Morocco, […] our room was simple with a double bed and bathroom which was clean and comfortable. Breakfast searved on the roof terrace was typical Moroccan and very good.The staff were very friendly and helpfull. They offered a Hammam free of charge which was very relaxing you come out felling very smooth and clean.The riad is excelantly possitioned only a 10 min walk into the main square and soukes,an experiance not to be missed esspecally at night. We found all the local people very frendly and not at all intimidating.We would recommend this riad and will use it again if we ever return to Marrakech. An unforgetable Holiday. Read more

Vi bodde 4 dagar i början på december här. Vill man bo hemtrevligt så ska man välja en dar eller riad och inte hotell. Mimouna var mysigt med väldigt bra personal. Rummet (marrakesh) var litet, men varmt inrett. Frukosten liten men med färskt bröd och på takterassen (kl. 9 med en tröja var det ändå tillräckligt varmt). Läget är C:a 1 km från Souken. […] Ring och beställ taxi från flygplatsen för det är inte lätt att hitta hit 1:a gången (100 Dhs). Read more

cattivo odore nella camera e colazione misera bagno quasi inesistente

Lite avsides placerat...får promenera sista 2-3 min från taxin. I övrigt lugnt läge, med undantag av böneutropen från moskén som ligger alldeles intill. Ca 10-15 min promenad till torget Jeema El-Fnaa vilket funkade utmärkt. Rena, fräscha nyrenoverade rum. Luftkonditioneringen rätt bristfällig. Enkel frukost. Saknar pool.

Riaden var mysig och fin. Väldigt speciell. Tyvärr var rummet "Fez" så litet att det inte gick att packa upp resväskorna och ha sina grejor någonstans. I princip en säng och ett litet bord och två pallar. Hade vi vetat att det var som att vara inne i en kyrka ljudmässigt hade vi inte valt denna Riad. Det var svårt att sova eftersom allt utanför rummet […] hördes i eko. Alla ljud förstärktes i och med ekot och kan bara berskivas precis som att vara i en kyrka. Personalen var vänlig och frukosten på taket var trevlig. Inget för en storätare eller om man vill ha nyttig frukost. Mysig och lugn riad. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Gångavstånd till Djemba el Fna - ca 15 min. Frukost alldeles tillräcklig. Rekommenderas.

El hotel es muy bonito y está bien situado, en la medina, cerca de las principales atracciones turísticas. Lo único malo es que es bastante rudioso en general y no dispone de algunos servicios de hoteles de su categoria como TV en la habitación o minibar. Pero en general lo recomiendo para estar unos días en Marrakech.

Très beau Riad, bon accueil, les chambres sont super jolies. On a testé le hammam aussi :). Ptit dej très sympathique sur la terrasse avec les yaourts maison. Notre nuit passée là bas reste un très bon souvenir.

Riktigt bra Riad inne i de äldre delarna av stan. Vissa kan tycka att det är svårt att hitta första gången i och med att taxin stannar på gatan en bit ifrån och sedan är det in i gränderna. Men - betala 10 Dirham till en vägvisare och upptäck hur lätt det är; in i gränden, till vänster och sedan rakt fram. Duktig, trevlig och engagerad personal, härlig […] frukost på takterassen. Dörren till badrummet går inte hela vägen upp så man har inga hemligheter för varandra. Går du upp först på morgonen så kommer varmvattnet i duschen om man bara låter det rinna någon minut. Mysig Riad. Bra läge. Trevlig staff. God frukost, men liten mängd mat för hungriga Skandinaver.

lille godt hotel men der manglede varme i 2 dg. Alt for lidt morgenmad og meget lyt Vi var de eneste på hotellet så servicen var ok temmelig dyrt i forhold til standarten

Kjempekoselig riad i arabisk stil, Vanskelig å finne uten en veiviser.

riad à recommander pour son charme authentique. Très belles boiseries, nous avons adoré les doubles portes anciennes qui ferment avec un cadenas et terrasse qui embrasse toute la Médina. On s'endore bercés par le bruit de l'eau de la fontaine du patio. Dommage, nous y avons séjourné qu'une nuit et le petit déjeuner n'étant servi qu'à partir de 07 H […] 45, nous ne l'avons pas testé notre avion partant trop tôt. Hotel assez proche de la place Djema El Fna bien tenu propre et deco tres sympa, et bien securisé. Petit dejeuner le matin assez leger qui pourrai etre amelioré. Quartier pas forcement rassurant quand on ne connait pas Marrakech mais des le premier soir nous nous sommes habitué et senti a l'aise. Acces internet gratuit. Riad très agréable, très bien situé entre la place Jnafa et la casbash. Chambres confortables, un peu faible coté service et petit-déjeuner.
