Great hotel with fantastic and friendly staff. Would stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The location of the hotel is nice. However the hotel room itself is falling apart, unclean and the beds are of such low quality it gives one back problems the morning after.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
good stay worth the money in a central location to the city centre would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Really great location, close to the train station, great customer service, clean rooms. Great stay for the price I paid.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great little hotel next to Central Station."
The morning receptionist was fantastic, it was going to be a business trip but it turned out to be a mini holiday. Clean room, en-suite with a phone and tv. What more could I want. ps there is a Waitrose food supermarket in Central Station, cashpoints are difficult to find but a couple are the other side of Central Station through the tunnel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"good location but poor quality hotel"
It was a good location to the city centre and where I had to be, but the hotel was in poor condition and needed fixing,Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not Good Value."
A nine night stay in September was only made bearable by the staff (Bar, Reception and Maintenance) who tried their level best to fix the many deficiencies I encountered when they were able. These would include: a mattress ancient and down to the wire mesh and an elderly TV which broke down and was changed three times with only a limited number of channels […] and poor reception. I was on the fourth floor which was extremely hot with no air conditioning. Provided with a thick duvet (unnecessary), this was used between the mattress and myself. The carpet was stained and in need of a clean, while the furniture was clapboard and falling apart. Narrow passageway floorboards creaked as people passed by during the night. The doors were sticky and gave door slammers plenty of scope to express themselves. The shower was adequate with plenty of hot water, but even bathing could be problematic as the domestic staff had a tendency to remove towels and not replace them (twice). "Basic, Ok but not great!"
Stayed here for 2 nights. Night 1 was a disaster - it was a Friday night and the room I had was apparently beside the store room for the bar. Basically it was a night of trolleys in and out with rattling bottles - very little sleep was had. Was moved on night 2 - without any trouble whatsoever and to a bigger room - which was nice but behind the head […] of the bed there is a gap of about 2 foot to the wall. This area clearly had never been cleaned so behind where I laid my head for the night was a filthy carpet which must have had 2 inches of dust on it. The porter was amazing, as was the restaurant. Friendly, nice atmosphere etc. Receptionist wasn't engaging at all and wasn't interested in making the effort. Overall it was fine for a basic hotel but I wouldn't go back as it didn't meet my expectations. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Book another hotel."
On arrival key card faulty had to get replacement. Tap in room gave us a shower every time it was turned on. We were under impression we booked breakfast in with booking hotel, but apparently not. Willing to pay the exra 10 pounds a head we went to restraunt in morning only to be told that the chef was sick and there was no breakfast. Worse of all was […] the mattress on bed had no sleep due to springs jagging in to our bodies, when we complaind along with lots of other guests, the staff were disinterested. "City Centre Hotel convenient for conference"
Overall it was a good experience- the only disappointment was the lack of WiFi in the room, which meant that catching up on business matters was not possible without leaving the room. Bed was comfortable and good sized shower-all plus points at the price.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice, clean but in need of upgrading in ensuite."
We thought the room was OK but the ensuite, although clean, was in need of upgrading. The toilet had a poor flushing system, the bath was badly chipped and the water for showering was cool in the evenings but nice and hot in the mornings.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Ok hotel, great location"
We stayed for two days. Excellent location to walk around but loud bar across the street. Decent rate.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great staff although no phone!"
Lobby and bar are gorgeous! Staff at the bar were fantastic and our food and drinks delicious. Lift is a bit rickety! We were told by reception to dial 0 of we needed anything. Realised we hadnt been given the wifi code and were about to phone down when we noticed our room had no phone! Bizarre. Not a big deal though. Room was very clean. Bed not comfy […] at all but overall a good stay! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Bathroom = silicone nearly all around the bath was black I took photos and the radiator leaked it dripped water onto the toilet bucket, I had to constantly put loo paper on this to absorb the water. Bedroom = the radiator seemed to harbour some insects, I killed 7 of them, the wall next to the bed was stained with what looked like a small splash of […] blood and shoe scuffs.. The room faced onto the main road and the noise from taxis parked outside, must be a taxi rank, the engines were often ticking over that noise was terrible. This hotel was classed as a 3 star, not in our opinion. The staff were really nice and the breakfast was good and the locality for shopping was also good, but the rest of it was terrible so no I would not recommend staying there. "Could do better"
The Hotel is on a main road with noise from the traffic and the bar downstairs. My pokey room was on the top floor in a converted attic space, with a sloping ceiling on which I hit my head several times. People under 4ft would have no trouble. On Sunday the breakfast was chaotic with uncleared tables, some over cooked bacon, no eggs, a very dodgy toaster […] next to a curtain, plus a hapless staff member who was clearly not able to cope. Breakfast was better on other days. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel overstated on cost charge - did not include breakfast. Bed extremely low - difficult for OAP's or infirm. Uncomfortable mattress with springs protruding throughout. Cheap furniture. No wardrobe space. Only plus point -Central. Not value for money and unlikely to return. Fire Alarm raised on first night at 1AM - understand a guest smoking in […] room had set it off. "Good if you don't care about TV"
Overall, it suited me very well for my trip. There is currently a major problem with TV system, and only Sky News and ITV2 channels work in the bedrooms. No solution was foreseen by the receptionists or the manager. Wifi does not reach the bedrooms either, but there is wired available. Parking is 200 metres away if you are driving. Some great local […] restaurants including the connected Indian. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overpriced, poor service and poor upkeep"
When we entered our room the first thing that we noticed was the bathroom which was not clean and was of a poor standard. There was hair in the bath, the bottom of the bath was all chipped and rusted, tiles on the wall by the toilet were held on with tape, the toilet did not flush very well, there was a soap dispenser on the wall which kept falling […] off when used as the attachment was broken. The room was also not very good as the paint on the wall's was one colour to about head height and then it looked dirty and unclean up to the ceiling, paint was flaking off at parts and around the window, the pillows on the bed were so thin that we might as well of not had any, the television was tiny and the hairdryer was tangled up with a bunch of other cords. When we complained about the bath we were told someone would come up to have a look. A man came and had a look and removed the hair from the bath and when we said about the bottom of the bath being chipped he said that it had been like that for a while and he said that they were wanting to upgrade the rooms but it was hard because of the recession. At the price we paid for the room for one night I think this was unacceptable and there's only so long that people can keep using the recession as an excuse. At breakfast the next morning we were greeted by a member of staff who spoke to us while she was eating and the selection of cooked breakfast was very limited. We were asked nothing of our stay when checking out. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Rooms not great"
Bed was hard and you could feel every spring Tv could only be switched on if the vanity mirror lights was on. Under the bed there was litter Dust formed underneath cupboards (which moved out really easily) and looked liked it had been a while since a full clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"decent but not for long stay"
Stayed at the Artto overnight while attending a function with my wife in the city centre. The staff were helpful and very good mannered and our room was spotlessly clean. Only negative is the traffic noise from Hope Street but if it's just for an overnight then it's tolerable and I'd use this hotel againGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good location but.."
Location was great, some staff were pleasant some seemed they were just going through the motions. Room was without a doubt the smallest I have ever seen, and I''ve travelled a lot. I've seen prison cells bigger. It looked clean but the plastic shower floor was chipped and scratched beyond belief and did seem dirty. Would I return? Probably not.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Amenable staff and hopefully refurb underway"
The reception and bar areas are nice spaces, clean and well-maintained. Staff are attentive and friendly. I had a really noisy, tiny room on the first night but next morning asked for a move. Staff were very understanding and accommodating. I think a much needed refurb may be underway so I would happily stay here again as it's right across from Central […] Station and has wonderful restaurants on both sides (Italian, Indian). "A stones throw away from The Solid Rock Cafe"
I always stay at this hotel when I am down visiting friends. Mainly because we all drink in The Solid Rock Cafe and it's literally 4 doors away from the place. I travel alone and all I really need is somewhere to sleep, so I'm not interested in paying for all the frills. It's cheap and cheerful. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming, the […] rooms are always spotless and its in my prefect location. The only thing that could make it better would be if I could park at the door, for free! However, since it is smack bang in the middle of Glasgow City Centre, that's never going to happen. They do, however have special rates available for guests on parking at the NCP car park on Oswald Street. £8 for 24 hours, I believe. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Terrible hotel, avoid"
Despite che staff being very friendly and helpful the hotel is dreadful: most rooms overlook a busy road next to the station with heavy traffic and late night pubs. The first room i was showed had the window that didn't close properly, and the second I got after complaining, although it had a modern window that was working, had still plenty of noise […] coming from the outside. Both rooms were disgustingly smelly, had broken tiles in the bathroom, and a sprung mattress where you could feel each spring in your back while trying to sleep. Good central location, great for getting about with bus and rail links outside or very close. Consequently rooms on the front can be a little noisy but despite this slept well. I've stayed here a few times, I like it. Its right next to the main train station and in the heart of the city. The rooms are compact but quite modern. its clean and tidy. "Arrtto hotel - location"
The signage of the hotel is in black and white and make it hard for travelers to seek out after coming out from the central station. The location is indeed convenience to walk around. The location is just opposite from central station facing Hope Street - 1 bus stop away from train station. The areas have several pubs around- not suitable for light […] sleepers.
