I would definitley stay at this hotel again. Very charming and the staff was wonderful. I loved the ambience, arched doorways, 4-poster bed and decor. Bathroom was quite large and theree are so many great restaurants nearby, you'll never go hungry. Also, the breakfast every morning was perfect. We were pleasantly surprised at the nice Tuscan atmosphere of this hotel. We stayed only one night in July while making a tour of several locations in Europe on my sons recommendation. It was a very busy time of the season, so the hotel he had previously used was unavailable, so we booked from Hotels.com and it was a great choice. If (When) I go back to Cortona, I will absolutely stay at this hotel. It is perfectly situated in the center of town. The hotel is clean, well maintained, and has a wonderful breakfast (complete with scrambled eggs!!). The staff was extremely friendly and spoke English better than I do!! The hotel claims to have parking (for 11 euro) and because I was […] traveling with a car, I thought this was extremely important. But when arriving in Cortona, the hotel informed me that they did not have room in their "garage" for my tiny smart car. So we ended up parking at the end of the street (at the bottom of the hill, and outside the main city wall). This ended up being so much easier that I originally anticipated. I would recommend parking below in the free parking lot, and spend that 11 euro on some delicious gelato!! Make sure you hit the square around 10:30pm and you might get lucky enough to hear a free concert!! Read more

We arrived at 2am on Friday night and the night porter was so helpful and friendly, we felt immediately at home. Great building with lots of potential, last refurb looks like late 80s mid 90s, but you can't beat the location, just round the corner from the main square.

Should take room upgrade. Be wary the hotel is not is a convienient position and the manageress charges you for everything, including the fact that the you cannot get up the hill to the hotel from Street level sp they charge you 10 Euro. I also asked for a Country Code and showed her my mobile phone and she told me to use her phone. How refreshing when […] she then says I owe her 39 Euro when I could do it on my own for not much. The same applied to the restaurant next door, she recommended it and they refused to itemise everything we ate and charged us well in excess of what we had. Hotel location was great, staff were very helpful and room wa comfortable and clean. We stayed in superior room and was great. The hotel was built in the 15th century so don't expect it to be a brand new hotel. The only small gripes I have would be the parking was not available unless booked prior as it wa busy time of year but having said this even […] on the busiest weekend of the year we were able to get free parking 100metres from hotel after unloading vehicle at front door. Second gripe is the hotel does not have wifi in rooms but only in downstairs lounge. The walls are about a metro thick so I reckon it would be a little hard to do. this anyway. These are only small problems and are fr overshadowed by the quality of the rest of the hotel and staff oh and location. Don't forget to get out of the city and take a driver around to the lake. We stayed at the hotel San Michele for four nights. That staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally situated within Cortona. Our double room with two single beds was small but adequate, and very clean. The bathroom, however, was tiny - so much that you couldn't even open the door all the way. But it was clean and well-maintained, […] so no real complaints on that issue. The only problem was the beds - the mattresses were extremely springy, definitely not the quality you'd expect in this type of hotel. Très satisfait de notre séjour malgré que ce n'était pas facile de se rendre jusqu'à l'hôtel en auto... rues étroites et ville médiévale... pas facile de conduire là pour les touristes.Malgré tout, cet hôtel était très bien situé sur l,ensemble de notre trajet. Everything was great. The only real problem was that there wasn't a shower and the bath tub didn't have a curtain and was just too narrow for my husband or any other medium- sized man to fit in. It wasn't comfortable at all, specially for a four-star hotel. If you are big, choose another hotel.

Soggiornato una notte, hotel pulito e piacevole. Colazione continentale di qualità non soddisfacente. Da segnalare pagamento al check out di imposta di soggiorno euro 3 a persona, non segnalata al momento della prenotazione con pagamento anticipato. Poco elegante. Consiglio ristorante "Dardone".

At hotellet har fire stjerner er nok lige at stramme skruen efter min mening - et hotel i den gode ende i kategorien af 3 *-hoteller vil nok være mere realistisk. The hotel was very nice. Room was in old style with all desired facilities. Design of hotel was in tune with the city. Breakfast room had possibilities to sit outside. Breakfast was more than the standard continental breakfast that is normal in Italy. All in all, a very nice place. Would stay there again.
