The Silken hotel was fine, Very new, modern and safe. The bed was only OK-king size, but for short people. Location was very good, being across from the big shopping center and a moderate walk from the Sagada Familia. It was however a long way from Los Rumbas and the down town area, but the hop on/hop off was right across the street for stop #10.

It's time for an update of the facility. The electric blinds worked; but they had become torn over the years. The toilet seat was completely detached from the toilet. The overhead shower fixture seemed only to provide HOT water; and it was very hot. Some staff was very friendly and helpful; others, not so much.

Pros: +near a mall Glories-with a good variety and inexpensive restaurants. +the tram is right in front of the hotel (Helpful from when we went shopping in Diagonal Mar-shopping mall) +Metro stop-Glories was a block to the left of the hotel. The red line takes you to Placa Catalunya-Las Ramblas, Universitat. +Right next to Torre Agbar which was a great […] landmark for when we would walk at night. +There were bus stations across the street. +You can view the Sagrada Familia from right outside and very good view from the roof. It's a 20 minute walk from the hotel +Behind the building is a beautiful theatre +Toliet had its own sliding door. That was private. +Loved the design, very trendy +with a fee, we had buffet breakfast, it was decent with eggs, meats, cold cuts, breads, cereals, juices, and milk. +Javier was very pleasant and welcoming and gave an orientation of the room. Cons: -glass with a sheer material between the room and the bathroom. Would be romantic for a couple -wifi-although it was free, we had to ask for a 3-day pass for each device to enter in daily. It must be a city thing. -There was construction going on in the mornings so there were some apparent noise but was not a bother to us. Depends how well you sleep. Mold in the bathrooms and one wall had water damage and mold growing along paneling. Coffee maker had sludge in the water container, not usable, front desk person just shook his head, no offer to fix or otherwise. Very expensive hotel for the poor value. Recommended by Royal Carribean, we will not ask them next time, better to do your own research.

Convenient location for an economy travel: 2 min to metro; 4 stops to aero-bus to airport, the total travel time is about 50 min. They offer free wi-fi. Bathroom walls are transparent. Breakfast is too expensive. Room is very clean.

The room cleanliness was accodring to its claims. Very clean! Staff, based on my problem with the internet (below) their customer skills lefts something to be desired, besides not speaking english at even an average understanding level. Overall, my experience was pleasant. Staff looked serious at all times without a smiling face, but were extremely helpful when we demanded something. I upgraded myself to a club room which is larger than a standard room, thus the size of the room was satisfying for me.

Well, I don`t know where to start . First of all Location is really bad . It is about an hour walk to the main action area , by metro 4 stations and by Taxi about 20 Euro !!! This a very modern style hotel catering to the Europeon business man. Across the street from a large mall and many restaraunts neer by. Quite a long taxi ride from the airport.

The modern design was appealing and the floor to ceiling windows were nice. Bed was hard and most of the staff seemed grumpy. Had to leave the hotel to find breakfast as the main dining room was closed. Only minimum toiletries were provided. The hotel was located near a large shopping plaza about five minutes walk away.

It is located close to the metro and conveniently across the street from a large super market. Unfortunately, the hotel did not include complementary coffee/ water so we stocked up at the market. They were also not very knowledgable about simple questions like how long it would take to get to the airport. We had soccer tickets sent to the hotel that they never notified me of their arrival. I had to ask them several times to look for the envelope that had been sitting in front of them all day (and was given a slight attitude). Overall, for the price, it was clean, cool and convenient, just as we had hoped. We would definitely stay at the Silken again but knowing we cannot rely on the hotel staff. Read more

The hotel staff was incredibly rude first of all!! The beds are extremely hard, might as well sleep on the floor. When the AC cut on it blew dust out. And rooms with a couch can poke out the building so as to see into your room so you need to turn on the loud electric curtains. The design of the hotel is quite nice, and it provides for a spectacular view of the Agbar tower, which is a fantastic structure in the middle of the city. Did not have any food, but the restaurant looked nice. The subway line that takes you downtown is 1 block away, and you are in the middle of town in 10 minutes. I arrived a day early and the manager refused to give me credit for a room that they could have rented. The hotel room was vey small and the shower had a glass wall that gave no privacy. The location of the hotel was far from the center of town and was very incovenient for a tourist. The price for the room was very high for the value received.

This hotel seemed great for the price for the first 3 nights we stayed here. The design is attractive and the staff was nice. There were a few things I found annoying. First, they do not have an iron and ironing board in the room, I had to ask for one. Also, the shower, while nice, didn't have any door or shower curtiain besides glass covering only […] half, so water splashes all over the bathroom floor when taking a shower. Its a little annoying to step out of the shower into a puddle, and there aren't many places to put your clothes in the bathroom, so they are likely to get soaked unless you leave them outside the door. The bed was also a little stiff, though not unbearable. The real problem with this hotel, and the reason I will never stay there again, has to do with a horrible design flaw with the building itself. Our last night there it rained the whole night. Outside the building above every window, there is a hollow aluminum shade of some kind that runs the length of the building. When the rain hits these, the sound is so loud inside the room that we did not sleep a minute the whole night. It literally is enough to drive you crazy, especially since there is no fan in the room to at least drown out the noise a little bit. I never write reviews on hotels I stay at, in fact this is the first, but I just wanted to make sure to warn anyone before choosing this hotel that you may want to make sure it is not planning on storming the night you are visiting. I chose this hotel as a stop-over on the way to a cruise ship. As it turned out it was MUCH more. The room was unlike any I have had before. Very cool. The building next door is lit up at night with red and blue lights which was special in itself. The staff was helpful and the roof-top gave s great vuew if tge city.
