Condesa Df - Mexico City

We fell in love with Condesa DF, its clever design, and its cool vibe. The balconies are worth the room rate alone. We would have given the hotel five stars but unfortunately some night-time maintenance made a lot of noise caused unpleasant fumes to creep into our room. The staff was accommodating and let us change rooms quickly.

I clearly booked a King size bed days before my trip to make sure, I get there, and all they had were two full beds, very bad experience since I needed the space because I was traveling with an infant and a portable crib. Guess what happens next!? After a long day of meetings in Mexico City, the first thing I wanted to do as I got back to the hotel […] was the obvious,.... a nice relaxing shower!.. Well the shower did not work, nor could the maintenance man fix it that day. I had to take a weird bath since the tub was very difficult. The hotel is OK, I just wish that my reservation would have been as I wanted and also the hotel staff lack experience. I have stayed many times in HABITA MTY (same owners) and love the hotel and staff, this place needs a turnaround. I will never be staying here again, nor will I recommend this place to anyone. It is overrated, needs upkeep, very bad experience. Wish I could get my money back. Read more

Friendly staff. Great rooms and breakfast buffet. Make sure to check your room service charges. Somebody elses ended up on my bill. This was corrected immediately as I pointed it out with a discount on my remaining charges.

My partner and I booked this hotel for our first night in Mexico City as we love the neighbourhood and it seemed like a somewhat luxurious option for recovering from the 11 hour flight from London. How wrong we were! Our patio room came off the central courtyard which is apparently a nightclub with incredibly loud music until about 1am. We were so jetlagged […] that we flopped down on the bed and managed to fall asleep only to be awoken at ten-past-midnight by reception asking if we wanted room-service. I said that we did not and dozed off again... only to be woken by the phone ringing twenty minutes later by reception again asking if we wanted room-service. I angrily told them that they had woken us up and not to call again. Guess what happened twenty minutes later? They called again. This time I didn't even bother speaking to them - I hung up on them and then unplugged the phone. By this time it was 1am and the music was still booming. Needless to say it was a restless night and we felt absolutely wretched in the morning. When we checked out we weren't asked about our stay and I didn't volunteer any information seeing as the room had been pre-paid. So be warned - this is a party hotel which is fine if that's your thing but it was not at all what we were expecting and found it to be an entirely unpleasurable experience. Read more

I have stayed at the Hotel Condesa in the past. I like that it is close to everything... La Condesa, Zona Rosa, and Zona Roma and 5 minutes in a cab to the historical Centro. The hotel food is delicious. If you want to take a jacuzzi you must plan ahead and ask for them to heat it up for you, you will then return in 1.5 - 2 hours. My husband and I just returned from Mexico City and our two day stay at the Condessa Df hotel. In our opinion, the hotel's location was one of its assets. The helpful staff and fact that the hotel offer tasty late ight dining in their restaurant was also a plus. The downsides were the constant techno music being played throughout the hotel and the […] poor insufficient amount of lighting provided in the Guest Rooms and Hallways. We consider ourselves sophisticated travelers, but not being able to read a book in bed or easily apply make-up in the Bathroom or Bedroom, was not convenient.. We would recommend this hotel because of its locale, but suggest you bring a flashlight. Read more

Excellent hotel. I've posted two other reviews here. The first had some complaints; the second reported them fixed. All I can say is that the Terrace rooms are excellent. Clean, big, fun, and the terrace is a very relaxing place to get some work done. Any downsides? Well, in one room the drain in the shower was slightly clogged ... fixed immediately. […] In the other the terrace lights were out ... also fixed immediately. After that, the place was perfect, and the location cannot be beat. One change is that the taxi stand that used to be nearby appears to have closed. A minor inconvenience, but worth mentioning. Other than that, the immediate neighborhood continues to get nicer, and the Metrobus provides easy access to anywhere for those who don't want to spend on Mexico City's very inexpensive taxis or want to avoid the clogged traffic on Insurgentes Avenue. The hotel is nice and modern, great bar, great restaurant, beautiful building. However, the rooms are extremely minimalistic and uncomfortable. the Tv was old miniscule (18" 4X3). There were no drawers for storing my clothes, very limited closet space. the bathroom was not comfortable at all. The shower had no light so I had to shower in the dark. and […] I don't mean a burt out bulb. there was no bulb instalation in the shower. Also, apart from the uncomfortable room, the nouise level because of the bar uis terrible. I was there for a full week, and the bar's last call is at 2AM and people hang out until 3AM or so, and the noise is just terrible. This happens from Monday to Sunday. There's very loud screaming and laughing and music until very late, and the noise is extremely loud inside the room. the room has no noise shielding, so it is not plesant at all. Read more

This hotel is nice. But a couple of things in my bathroom had malfunctioned and were in need of repair. The aircon was hot in the day and cold at night! The wifi bandwidth tended to die everything afternoon as the lobby restaurant filled with iPhones and BB causing guests to suffer the consequences of horribly slow speeds- I mean up to a minute for […] a page to refresh. Good hotel, but other hotels that are not that far away (i.e. Polanco as opposed to Condesa) are nicer and less expensive. The roof top bar is pretty nice. Staff service was average...nothing great but nothing bad. King size bed was actually a double. I still like this hotel, but I wonder if it's under new management or just getting tired and cheap. Everything seems a bit worn lately. I also noticed that they no longer offer a nice bar of soap, but have replaced it with a small cheap soap. Also, they are clearly refilling the shampoo and conditioner bottles, which I guess strikes me as gross. Also my room had a big lube stain on the floor, and the shower had water damaege. The water pressure was inconsistent and it was not comfortable to take a shower. The Condesa DF is not for everyone (if you want the typical American hotel don't bother staying here.) This hotel is retro, modern, colonial... I don't know how to describe it. This is a great hotel. The last time I was there, the Internet had some issues, which have now been fixed. One thing to keep in mind is that it is very noisy on the weekends. Hotel is located in a area where is safe to walk around and there are several options of restaurants. The front desk will guide you on what options are available. Restaurant staff was amazing and the room was confortable and clean. There is no hair dryer in the room, I guess you can ask at the front desk to bring you one.

The location cannot be beat, and the rooms are wonderful. Service is fine. The problem is that the internet is unreliable: the wired service works not at all, and the wireless is intermittant. Moreover, the room lights are dim; great for romance, not quite as good for work. And while I'm nitpicking, I'll note that the room service menu is nowhere near […] as good as it used to be, before their former chef left for Canada. In short, the hotel is still fine for a pure vacation, but it's declining as a place to do business at the same time. Fourth time we have stayed there, fabulous hotel although we were sick needing rest, and unless you are a very heavy sleeper you won't get much rest until 1.30 am when the centre bar closes. Definately best place to stay in df if you're there for the culture and nightlife

La ubicación es muy buena para poder visitar la Condesa, caminando hay muy buenos restaurantes, tiendas y parques, caminar por los alrededores es muy agradable. El edificio tiene un muy buen concepto pues los espacios estan muy bien aprovechados y la decoracion de buen gusto.
