"Needs a bit of sprucing up"
Hotel appeared beautiful upon arrival, however the rug in the suite had stains. I found fecal matter on the side of the toilet, bathrooms are really outdated and no air conditioning in the main part of the hotel. The weekend we stayed was 90 degrees- A/C would have been nice. Service in the dining room and tavern was horrible. Breakfast buffet had empty […] chafing dishes and the sterno must have been out for an hour as the food that was left was cold. Dinner at the tavern we were told that the kitchen was extremely backed up and that they couldnt take our food order for a 45 min to an hour. The hotel was booked- and it felt as if only 2 servers were on staff. Location is beautiful, overlooking the mountains and lake- hotel itself needs some updating and reconsideration of their dining service. People are on vacation- they dont want to wait for service or a cocktail. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good time had by all."
My family and I had a great time there. My 93 year old mother in law was kept busy drawing the fabulous views and the two 13 year olds loved the pools and games. It was great having a kitchen. Neighbors were a bit noisy, but that can't be helped. Maybe we were too. We will be going back if we can get the same rates.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stressful... Didnt have room ready for us at check-in time. Then let us in the room to put our things in there. Housekeeper(Male) came out of the bathroom an stated( I would'nt go in there anytime soon) Totally freaked my 7 year old grandson out for the night. Then Housekeeping took out bathing suits, Kids Mask & Swimming flotations by mistake. They […] found them the next day. Very aweful experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Was attending a 4:00 wedding. We were told nonapologetically that we would not be able to get an early check in because they were so busy . We were offered to use the humid pool area to change. One would think that they would have prepared for that in advance and be able to accommodate the wedding guests by at least 3:00. We dressed in the bathroom […] in the pool house. I was very satisfied with this resort. The one bedroom unit we stayed in contained all the amenities we needed for our stay. We were very satisfied with the indoor pool, spa, and fitness room. We were impressed that we were offered a day use pass to use any of the resort pools on the day we checked out!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great all-around resort"
Hilltop location provided a secluded setting with spectacular lake views. Took advantage of splendid indoor pool and relaxing outdoor pool with pool bar. Played tennis and golf on resort facilities. Short drive to lake attractions. Maid service was a little spotty, but the facilities are in good shape. Seems like it was a choice for extended families […] and friends. We had a nice week at Steele Hill and would recommend it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Adults and Kids Loved it!"
The pool kept the kids busy for hours. Lots of fun for adults as well. Wish it was a little cheaper, but I can't wait to go back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The resort was a little dated but it was really clean. The service in the restaurant was really slow and the west two bedroom unit we had smelled like soot. I think the fire place needed to be cleaned. The unit was really clean and neat. I like the resort and I would come back. The office people were friendly and helpful. The pool was fantastic. "Steele Hill Resort"
The most wonderful place for a celebration. The family gathered there from several states to celebrate my grandaughters graduation from nursing school. The ceremony was cancelled because of a snow storm. We were so happy to have 2 nights at Steele Hill. Everyone enjoyed the hot tubs, tried out all the indoor pools, played pingpong, computer games and […] ate in the restruants. The family age range is 66-7. there was something for everyone. The food was great, the staff very helpful and pleasant and at all times accomodating. Hotels.com gave us a price even the resort, directly couldn't Thank you so much for the wonderful memory for my granddaughter and the rest of us. What a wonderful place for a family reunion. "Beautiful, off-the-beaten-path getaway"

One of the better resorts we've stayed in through a timeshare exchange. The resort is on top of a mountain overlooking lake winnisquam. It's a bit of a drive to any restaurant or shop, but that was okay for us, given the rewards of the solitary views. The views from our unit are spectacular, and I believe most units have a nice view (except maybe if you get jus a hotel room, which looks out onto the parking lots in the south bld). We were lucky to have been placed in a one-bedroom in the newest South wing...#41 C/D. Enormous studio with attached 'hotel' room. The studio had a pretty comfortable Murphy bed, and could easily sleep 4 with the pullout couch. Beautiful, up to date furnishings, patio (on first floors, decks on upper floors) overlooking lake. Complete kitchen, gas fireplace, big flat-panel TV above the fireplace. The attached room has a king bed, enormous jacuzzi tub, and another tv. From the south bld, we could walk a few yards to the east bld, where an outdoor pool, indoor pool, hot tub, play ground, and restaurant are. Although we had initially wanted the west bld, which houses the big indoor pool with slide, we ended up preferring the pools of the east bld, as the outdoor pool was calmer, overlooking the beautiful views. There is another outdoor pool by the west bld with the grille/cafe, but it was smaller and always overcrowded when we went there. The west bld has the second-newest rooms, that we heard were nice. And although the east bld is the oldest, we met owners who said that the rooms were enormous and nice, although a tad dated. The big, indoor, pool in the west bld, is a shallow, beautifully landscaped pool with one big slide in the middle. Great for little kids. The building, itself, is gorgeous, with lots of activity options for kids of all ages. The service so far has been wonderful. Front desk has been very helpful, responding to our needs very promptly. We would definitely stay here again, and would even consider being timeshare owners here, if they build more units. No hard timeshare sell,by the way. And if there is any construction going on, we can't hear it. Because there is only one paved road to this resort, DO NOT trust your GPS, as their website says. We used our iPhone map app to get us home from North Conway, and ended up on a dirt path leading deep into the woods....in the night. There are some shortcuts on dirt roads to the main drag, but you need to know which are dirt roads and dirt paths! The only negative experience we had here was that upon arrival on a Friday, we heard that there were 3 weddings happening that weekend. One was right in front of our unit, practically, with a reception under a tent that lasted through the night, with fireworks that someone had set off w/o permission. It would have been nice to have been given a heads up about the weddings. Fortunately, by Monday, all returned back to laid-back w families who were staying for the week.

We weren't expecting much from this place and they delivered. We never did get the Wi-Fi in our room fixed nor did they get the air conditionaer fixed which had a fan that was stuck on 'hi' the entire time making it difficult to sleep.
"Perfect NH getaway"

A group of us stayed at the Steele Hill Resort and when we booked our trip they reserved all of our rooms next to each other just like we asked. The rooms were clean (very important to us), the staff went out of their way for us the entire trip. They even had a bike wash station set up since it was Bike Week. The Sunday Brunch was unbelievable. The property has lots to offer although it's not in walking distance to anything. I wish we could have stayed longer. I would most definitely stay there again.

We traded our timeshare for a week in New Hampshire. Unit was satisfactory for the two of us, but could have been cleaner. Older Building has 3 stories and not well insulated so kids running around in unit above you can be annoying. While it was pretty full over the 4th of July weekend, not sure why they had to put another family above us with 3 kids when the place looked pretty open based on the number of cars in the parking lot on Tuesday. While they sent someone over when we called, his response was rather rude. It is geared more to families. Restaurant is fairly decent. Staff was accommodating except as mentioned above.
"Great family vacation"
We are currently staying in room 6. We were originally disappointed as this was not the unit requested and is definitely in need of some updating. That aside the room is well maintained, clean and functional. All of the staff we encounter have been excellent. Really can't say enough about the service. Amenities are nice though did get crowded over the weekend. Our children boys aged 4 and 6 love it here and are never bored. We will return.

We had a great dinner and lunch , enjoyed the pool and the staff who helped our stay be a good one. Thank you, the browns. Our room was very cleanse noticed all the happy families. and the bed was a great king size in our unit, and we found muffins, cereal, and juice to start the next morning. Coffee was also yummy.

We just got back from a 4-day trip over the 4th of July and we had a wonderful stay. It was very relaxing yet there were plenty of things to keep my teenage boys busy. Nice accommodations & amenities.
"New England Getaway"
My family enjoyed a fantastic stay at Steele Hill. My son (12) golfed all he wanted. Our dinner was served on the outdoor terrace overlooking the pool and lake and was scrumptious. OUr room was a sparkling clean bi-level condo with a full modern kitchen. Once we navigated the stairs with our bags we were good to go for vacation time. Our room was in steele hill west and connected to the indoor pool and video games room.

Steel Hill Resort is a beautiful resort? We stayed in room 222. Upon entering it was very dated . Bathroom doorknob was ready to fall off. Minimal kitchen supplies. A very nice clean resort but very old school , needs major updating . Ok resort
"Resort close to home"

Definitely a fun time for everyone in my party. We've stayed at Steele Hill and Summit Resorts (sister resorts) , and there are pros and cons of both, though the pros outweigh the cons by a longshot. No matter what cons you may find, staying in these resorts is a much better option for anyone with more than 2 people in your party than staying at a motel or hotel (since you're confined to one room). The only better alternative would be to stay at a nice place DIRECTLY on the water... but even that wouldn't have the comfort to spread out in a condo atmosphere, the amenities of this resort(s), and the convenience of central locations. We'll be back for a 4th year in 2015!
