"Countryside resort in Lakes region."
Had a wonderful time! The hotel is set in a beautiful setting way out in the countryside. Views of the lakes and mountains from our rooms. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean and we'll kept. The new rooms addition looks brand new, even though it's almost 30 years old. The food and drinks are very good, for the Sunday brunch the head chef was out making omelets. I wanted a few things extra that weren't out, so he went to the kitchen and got the hot peppers I wanted. Great service! I would stay here again in the future.

"Overrated"
Overrated. Room was sandwiched between two units and loud. They actually call you during a stay for a wedding to try and sell a timeshare. Drinks were way too expensive and mostly mixers.

"Great overlooked Gem!"
Hubby & I needed overnight accommodations , and I stumbled across Steele Hill Resorts. It's a bit out of the way, although it was well worth the extra travel time . Very clean, spacious rooms. The only thing that needs improvement is the labeling of buildings rooms. We wandered , as did several others, looking for our room/ building. Would definetly stay here again.

"Great hotel with lots of amenities."
One night stay, booked at the last minute. Beautiful hotel with lots of amenities. Gigantic hot tub. Kids loved the pool with slide. I loved that the kids had their own adjoining suite and the fact we had a full kitchen and living area. Would definitely go back and stay a few days. Would loved to have more time to take advantage of the tennis courts and outdoor bbq areas. They even had a game area with video games for kids. Short drive to Weirs Beach.

"3 day ski break over Christmas"
My husband 2 kids and myself went over Christmas for 3 day ski trip, we stayed on the older side of resort and while it's old fashioned looking it was very clean. Even the fridge was spotless with nothing left behind from previous guests. Food was good and staff were helpful. My only small complaint is that it is a little far away from town so it's harder to run out and get supplies if you need something so go prepared. Gunstock is 15 mins away , we saw kids iceskating and sledding on resort so bring all your gear off kids, pool was also great for kids.

"Lovely resort"
We had a great short weekend getaway here. We stayed in a one bedroom suite in the West Complex. There are several areas of the resort with different kinds of rooms. Ours had a balcony that had a view of the lake to one side and the mountains to the other. The rooms were clean and well maintained. (The shower pressure was the only disappointment). Dinner at the on site restaurant was delicious and had a spectacular view. Due to our short stay, we were not able to enjoy all that the resort had to offer, but the upper level indoor pool and gigantic hot tub were excellent after a day of golfing. I may even make a special trip back up there with the kids for an extended weekend in the fall as there were many things the kids would have enjoyed.

"OK stay but Don't Expect "Resort" Quality"
Stunning lake views from atop hill, Excellent family amenities (pool, games). Plenty of open space to relax even during busy bike week. 10 minute driving distance to lakes, shopping and all area restaurants. Excellent amount of space in each room. 1 bedroom w/kitchen & pullout was plenty for 4 people. Room had doors right out to patio area with lounge chairs that was a plus. Out-dated Rooms needed updating & cleaning. (linens on pull-out couch were stained and needed to be retired years ago) A/C clicked and was loud all night. Poor quality of breakfast buffet for price paid. Omelette station good, Fish, Chicken and Eggs looked like wedding leftovers! Staff seemed pleasant but was young and lacked the "wow factor" expected of a resort stay. Experience with all staff was purely transactional. Nobody went above & beyond. Overall stay was just "OK", Steele Hill must spend some money to update before you expect "resort" quality.

"Needs a bit of sprucing up"
Hotel appeared beautiful upon arrival, however the rug in the suite had stains. I found fecal matter on the side of the toilet, bathrooms are really outdated and no air conditioning in the main part of the hotel. The weekend we stayed was 90 degrees- A/C would have been nice. Service in the dining room and tavern was horrible. Breakfast buffet had empty chafing dishes and the sterno must have been out for an hour as the food that was left was cold. Dinner at the tavern we were told that the kitchen was extremely backed up and that they couldnt take our food order for a 45 min to an hour. The hotel was booked- and it felt as if only 2 servers were on staff. Location is beautiful, overlooking the mountains and lake- hotel itself needs some updating and reconsideration of their dining service. People are on vacation- they dont want to wait for service or a cocktail.

"Good time had by all."
My family and I had a great time there. My 93 year old mother in law was kept busy drawing the fabulous views and the two 13 year olds loved the pools and games. It was great having a kitchen. Neighbors were a bit noisy, but that can't be helped. Maybe we were too. We will be going back if we can get the same rates.

"Horrified"
Stressful... Didnt have room ready for us at check-in time. Then let us in the room to put our things in there. Housekeeper(Male) came out of the bathroom an stated( I would'nt go in there anytime soon) Totally freaked my 7 year old grandson out for the night. Then Housekeeping took out bathing suits, Kids Mask & Swimming flotations by mistake. They found them the next day. Very aweful experience.

Was attending a 4:00 wedding. We were told nonapologetically that we would not be able to get an early check in because they were so busy . We were offered to use the humid pool area to change. One would think that they would have prepared for that in advance and be able to accommodate the wedding guests by at least 3:00. We dressed in the bathroom in the pool house.

I was very satisfied with this resort. The one bedroom unit we stayed in contained all the amenities we needed for our stay. We were very satisfied with the indoor pool, spa, and fitness room. We were impressed that we were offered a day use pass to use any of the resort pools on the day we checked out!

"Great all-around resort"
Hilltop location provided a secluded setting with spectacular lake views. Took advantage of splendid indoor pool and relaxing outdoor pool with pool bar. Played tennis and golf on resort facilities. Short drive to lake attractions. Maid service was a little spotty, but the facilities are in good shape. Seems like it was a choice for extended families and friends. We had a nice week at Steele Hill and would recommend it.

"Great views, great rooms, friendly staff"
07/28/15 J M Methuen, Massachusetts
Stayed here this past weekend for 2 nights. We were with a large group and were all spread out across the property. Check in process was fast, I should have called for early check in but the person at the desk checked with housekeeping and notified us that the room was "in process". Within an hour we were allowed in. We stayed in 27A which was Signature West 1 bedroom. The room was beautiful and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our can opener didn't work and we called the desk and they quickly brought a new one up to us. View was great. I agree the prices are a bit high for the area - but the other hotels in the area are not as clean and updated as this one so it was worth the money for us. We didn't follow GPS instructions instead we got off exit 20 (near outlets) and followed that road north. The GPS quickly rerouted us and it was easy to find. Not sure why the GPS tries to take us to exit 22 and have us on dirt roads with no signs.

"Awesome stay on the hill!"

We pulled up and were in awe at the amazing views! The check-in process was excellent, and they provided detailed info about the location of our room and our stay. We pulled up to our room (611 West) and it was perfect. Right next to the main west building which had ping pong, xbox connect, and an indoor pool atrium equipped with slides, a child pool, and an amazing Jacuzzi. We will be back!

"Fall 2014 week "

We stayed a week October 2014 at Steele Hill Resort, swapping though interval timeshare. As others have said, it can be difficult to find, but well worth it! Beautiful view of the sunrise and lake. Foliage was perfect. We played a few holes on the course, which is though to walk, but was fun to not be rushed at all. We attended the s'more fire pit and the ice cream social. Low attendance, but still very nice. Not a ton of things to do in the area. We did drive to Ogunquit to an afternoon matinee at the playhouse, had plenty of time to walk marginal way and do a little shopping. Opted not to walk the trails at Steele hill, due to wood ticks. Nice to walk inside to the pool, at least we could from the u it we stayed in. Hot tub was the biggest I had ever seen, great slide the kids loved.Had a couple issues, that needed fixing and staff took care of it right away. (Clothes holder in closet, missing one TV remote). Sunday brunch was wonderful. Pumpkin beer at the bar and a lobster dinner in the restaurant were enjoyed. Our unit had a kitchen, living room, bedroom , bath upstairs, and another bedroom and bath on ground level. Beautiful views from the deck. Oh, tanger mall is about 10 mins away, so that was fun. Don't miss the tilton dinner, always a wait to get a seat, but turnover is fast. I would certainly go back! It would be difficult for anyone with walking issues though.

We were guest of our family who have owned a Time share for many years here and I can see why they come back to here every year. it is a ways to the lakes but it is very nice. The facility is outstanding. 3 Pool areas for guest. Their pool in what they cay The West area is one of the best I ever been at with a great slide facility for kids and adults a like.

"Amazing pool, wonderful views!"
07/24/15 marie-maudeb Sherbrooke, Canada
We booked this hotel because pictures of the pool catched our interest. It lives up to the expectations! In fact, there are many pools on the resort. The one indoor, with slides, is incredible. It's not crowded, the water is warm, the view is breathtaking. Big wow! Our room (101) had a great view, it was clean and very spacious. We had a stove, microwave, dishwasher...so don't hesitate to bring your stuff to cook your own meals. The restaurant is not that great and the opening hours are confusing. Next time we'll bring our groceries. :)

"What a view!"

We had no trouble finding this resort. Some reviews indicated it was difficult to find but signage is fine and the GPS had no problem. Check in was very easy and the office is open 24/7 which is terrific as traffic from MA to NH on a Friday night can be very slow. Our room was in the older section but large, clean, well stocked. We had a terrific view of the lake and a wild lightning storm to watch one night. We were only there for a long weekend and didn't have time to use any of the facilities but we would stay there again in a heart best.

"Great Place, Handicap Friendly Rooms "
07/21/15 EddieBostononian Boston, Massachusetts
Been coming back for years. Had handicap accessible 2 bedroom for family member after surgery. Nice pools, hiking, free golf, food, grills, activities. Nearby fishing, boating and jet ski rentals. Nice sandbar at bottom of the hill where boats raft together to party and swim. Arcades, go carts, drive-in movie theater, and restaurants nearby. Great for all ages.
