small hotel, quiet. rooms are quite basic, but adequate. free car park. the people were very friendly and helpful. the small bar was quite comfortable reasonably priced. restaurant small, but menu limited. we went out to eat. it was adequate for the overnight stay we required.

This is approximately our 4th or 5th stay in this hotel. Our previous visit dates from about a year ago same period (early July). After renovating the rooms 2 years ago, they now freshed up the communal areas like the restaurant, the area around the pool (with e.g. new sunbeds), ... While the rooms are basic without much furniture nor space to store our cloths, etc...the general standard is good with a small but practical bathroom (we had a room with bath tub) and a comfortable bed with extra pillows available in the room. If you intend to stay for a long period, you may have to partly live out of your luggage. But we stayed for 3 nights and could do with the available space. The hotel has 2 corresponding rooms for families, one on each floor level. If you need these you should contact the hotel directly. Rooms still have tea and coffee making facilities, free of charge internet (good signal strength in rooms), a pretty large parking, hotel pool (outside) with new sunbeds, .... Breakfast was good and products were regularly refilled. Very good coffee from a coffee machine which allow you to refill as much as you like. In the evening we had a 3-course diner. The first evening we had the choice between 2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 deserts (all changing daily). During the last 2 evenings we could choose between 2 main courses, but starters and deserts were from a limited but good quality buffet. Price of drinks in the bar and with the meals are very reasonable. And their house wine (1/2 liter) was of good quality. Examples are : 3 euro for a Kir, 2.8 euro for 1/2 liter of mineral water, 6 euro for 1/2 liter of their house wine , ... If you also take into consideration that we had a 2+1 offer in half board, booked through Jetair, we had excellent value for money. We did some sightseeing in the neighborhood and there were horse races in Clairefontaine and in Le Touques, both nearby. Very enjoyable. Clairefontaine even has steeple chase races which we had never seen before. We read some negative comments from other travellers about the management or other personnel not being friendly, but we have never experienced such behaviour. At the contrary ! During all our visits all personnel has always been very friendly and helpfull. And often ready for a chat with their customers. The only thing that we experienced is that there are a limited number of employees (they do a lot of multi-tasking) and you sometimes have to wait a while because staff is busy doing other things. But at busy periods even the hotel manager will jump in to help serve customers or clean tables in the restaurant, etc... If you are looking for a high standard chique hotel, this is not the right spot, but if you look for a nice budget-friendly 3-star hotel with pragmatic employees, than this is the place to be. Arrived by coach late at night with a party of some 30 Veterans and carers to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the D Day landings. Despite the hour (after midnight) we were welcomed and very quickly given the keys to our pre allocated rooms. Our room, number 3 on the ground floor was small but adequate. Unfortunately it was next to the night access door so we suffered some noise and we were unable to open the window because of smokers. The shower room was tiny and it was impossible to take a shower without drenching the floor. Shower gel and soap were replenished daily as were clean towels. Clothes storage was quite limited with a small hanging area and a couple of shelves. We were staying for a week and mainly lived out of our cases. Tea and coffee making facilities and wifi were standard although the wifi did have a tendency to drop out. We were on a half board basis. There was an excellent continental breakfast buffet. Although individual guests had a choice of evening meal our party had a set meal. Fish appeared 3 days out of 6 but I like fish so didn't personally have a problem. It was not however to everyone's taste and there were some problems, maybe due to language, in meeting some people's dietry requirements. There was no separate bar area and the bar was part of the reception desk. There didn't appear to be any stock replenishment proceedure as they ran out of beer on two evenings and also various spirits. There is not a 24 hour reception and we were firmly asked to leave the dining/reception area at midnight as the staff were going home. The area was in total darkness shortly after. There is a small outdoor swimming pool and a couple from our party used it. It looked clean and well cared for but I didn't try it myself. Other than the midnight bedtime the staff were very helpful and friendly. It is a budget hotel and I guess you get what you pay for!
This hotel was a disappointment. Upon entering in the evening, the lights do not go on automatically in the halls. The room had dirty spotted carpeting. The shower had mold and there were bugs. After speaking with the manager who was not happy with my comments, he offered to let us out of the room, but with no help of finding another at the late hour.
"Excellent deal for longer stays, especially in half board."

It was again some 2 years ago that we were here last time. The hotel is totally renovated in all rooms. While the rooms are basic with not a lot of furniture nor space to store our cloths, etc...it was of good standard and especially bed and bathroom were of good quality. We had a room on the 2nd floor with (small) bad in the bathroom. Close to elevatior, but not noicy. If you intend to stay for a long period, you may have to partly live from your luggage. But we stayed for 4 nights and could do with the content of 1 luggage. Room has tea and coffee making facilities, free internet (good signal strength in rooms), a pretty large parking, hotel pool (outside), .... Breakfast was of good (French) quality and with good coffee. Choice not extended but enough. In the evening we had a 3-course diner. The first 2 days we had the choice between 2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 deserts. During the last 2 days we could choise between 2 main courses, and starters and deserts were from a buffet. You generally know what you are going to get in the chain hotels. To it's credit this Kyriad had a freiendly welcome, a powerful shower and good breakfast selection. It was a one night stay and for at it was perfect and good value.

We arrived at St. Arnoult and saw a large sign for the Kyriad Hotel. We followed the road round and into a gated enclosure. Having parked the car in the car park, we unpacked our cases and walked round to the front door of this building. As we passed by the large windows, we saw some people in wheelchairs being wheeled around by nurses in uniform. Having arrived at the entrance we realised it was a residential home - we weren't quite ready for that! We drove out of the gated compound and went further down the road where there were a complex of hotels including the Kyriad. At the small reception area, we were handed a key to a room on the first floor. As we entered the room we found it was unmade from the last guests and we had to go back downstairs to change it. The receptionist in all fairness apologised profusely and was most embarrassed. She gave us another room on the same floor. The corridors of this hotel are battleship grey and because of the flushed nature of the doors and a single white square with a number on them, they resembled prison cells. The room itself was very small with a comfortable bed with a very, very large circular mirror on the wall opposite the bed so one could see oneself reading a book or whatever. A television was in a corner of the wall and hooks towards the door. There was a sliding door to a shelf and hanging space which would not slide and was probably broken but with only one night there we were too tired by then to bother. They had provided plenty of tea and coffee plus a free bottle of mineral water, a TV Times and a small notepad and pen as well as a tissue box. The shower was powerful with free toiletries as well as soap and although small was adequate. They had also provided a new pair of flip flops. Breakfast was good and plentiful with a coffee machine. All in all there were some good points, the downside was the size of the room and the awful décor which was very depressing - perhaps not quite enough to send one into the nursing home nearby which looked very luxurious.
"Good value, poor beds"

I just spent two nights at this hotel. While cheap, the fittings are also budget. So the price you pay is fair. It's a budget hotel, with clean fittings and internet that seems sufficient. The staff are very friendly and helpful, though the location is a bit strange - in the middle of a budget hotel park it seems. The one thing that was dissappointing was the quality of the beds. Both nights I had a bad sleep and woke up with a stiff neck. I would have rated this hotel higher had it not been for this. Next time, I'll give it a skip and stay in Caen or Deauville.

Went to Normandy and stayed at the "Biarritz or the North"--this is one of the Prestige Kyriads--everything was clean and the staff were friendly and spoke English. They have a full restaurant as well but we didn't eat there. The room is very modern--the bathroom is beautiful and I love the tea station they have set up. The bed was quite comfy and the electric heat warmed up the room nicely.

rooms are not air conditionned, luckily we didn't have a very hot august and t'was a lil' bit cold at night. breakfast is good with lots of choices, the breakfast room is the restaurant as well to have lunch and dinner at night (duh!) if you book in this hotel ask not to have a room on the ground floor coz of the smell (moisty) & my mom got bitten from i-dunno-which-kinda-insect who came out from her pillow i didn't have that in my room (20) they have rooms for disabled persons which is very rare in france! my only problem is just this hotel is not air conditionned and this insect thing one more powerful point of this hotel is the wifi connection which is free until 3days of unlimited connection but if you & your partner will work with 2computers in the same room but different wifi code, your PC connection slows not on my MAC though aside from that, well....
