"Great view, could improve service"
fantastic location, the rooms were nice, a little updated, should use a little sprucing up, service was spotty, views were amazingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I was "Riding the Rockies" with an overnight in Avon. It was our 38th anniversary and we had gotten married in Vail just a few minutes away. We wanted someplace special and picked Cordillera as it was right before the summer rush, quiet and a bit out of the way. Once we got checking in we never left the place until checkout. Amazing location, attentive […] staff, understated luxury and a pool to die for. Thanks Cordillera for a great stay.uj Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice hotel,beautiful views"
From the moment we walked thru the door we were greeted by helpful, courteous staff and a clean comfortable environment. Our waiter was from Australia and very accommodating to all of our needs. He went above and beyond for us to be happy and relaxed, We went 3rd week of may and the chateau was less crowed allowing us to feel as if we had this Grand hotel […] all to ourselves.the tv and hotel needs updating which to me; if this were to be accomplished, The lodge and spa at cordillera could rival all other accommodations in the Vail valley. "Short stay during "off-peak""
We stayed one night and ate at the Mirador, got massages, took a zumba class, and had breakfast on the patio. All of the amenities were exceptional and amazing. However, the service (particularly the front desk) is a little sluggish during the off-season. We were told a number of times, "well, it's not peak season", when we tried to get help with wheeling […] a hotel cart up stairs or other similar tasks. The view is killer, the facilities are gorgeous. Overall, we had an exceptional time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We would like to apologize if for any reason you felt slighted by our service at any time. Our guests whether peak season or off, are indeed our utmost priority. Thank you for staying with us. "Good but needs a little TLC"
Love the resort - but some things need maintenance/refreshing to be the resort that warrants four and five star status. Furniture is a little worns (couch) and carpet can be replaced. Overall - a gem! Love staying there.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera We’re so glad you loved staying with us at The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera. Our location overlooking the magnificent Vail Valley and Sawatch Range really makes it seems as though we’ve captured a little slice of heaven with our breathtaking views and relaxing atmosphere. "Beautiful views, great price"
The views from everywhere are beautiful. We ate at the restaurant. Food was great with a view. Service was also wonderful. I wish check in was a bit earlier. 4:00 seems late. Room was very comfortable. It was large and had a fireplace. It was a great stay that we would do again. And the price was excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great family vacation!"
We recently stayed at Cordillera and had a wonderful experience. Our favorite part was the convenient shuttle to Beaver Creek (thanks , Brian), and the slope side club that we were able to use. It was nice to be able to leave our ski equipment there over night. The food at Cordillera was excellent. We also enjoyed meals in front of the fireplace! We […] would definitely stay here again. "Breathless views, like a retreat in the Alps!"
Our stay at Cordillera was excellent. We love skiing the nearby resorts, but especially as city dwellers, we crave a quiet place at the end of the day. Cordillera is about 15 minutes from Beaver creek, 30 in traffic from Vail, and is perched high on a mountain with simply breathless views of the entire mountain range, complete with birds, and small […] mammal citings! The conditions, staff friendliness and helpfulness were unparalleled, as they even cooked our picky gluten-free child's pasta in their elite restaurant for us. The rooms are large and beautiful - we booked 2 for a family of 5 but actually spent most of our time in just one! Can't wait to return. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera We can’t wait for your return as well! We’re glad you were able to enjoy our peaceful, scenic atmosphere. Gluten-free has become a way of life for many people and we understand the importance of offering these items. We will look into a better offering of gluten-free products for our younger guests, and we are thrilled that our chefs were able to accommodate your child’s needs. Thank you for a fantastic review of The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera.

Response by The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera We appreciate when a guest understands at times we need to update or make repairs to our hotel to be able to offer even better amenities; thank you for that. We’re so glad you enjoyed your experience here at The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera and would love to welcome you back soon for another visit.
I would highly recommend this property if you want to truly get away in luxury. Great rooms, beautiful location, and an "aah" type of experience. Unfortunately a winter storm crippled the property during our stay, causing them to be grossly understaffed. I do not believe this is normal for this 5-star resort. But the lack of staff limited our experience […] (valet, restaurants, shuttles, etc. were all on limited operations, and no room service was available due to restaurant limitations.) Again, likely not a consistent problem here. I'd go back to try it again in the future. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel not too far from Beaver Creek"
The hotel was nice and quaint, with a really nice restaurant with a nice little bar. The food was excellent and rooms were comfortable. If you are looking for a quiet, nice hotel to stay at, rather than the normal resort craziness I would recommend this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Short Winter Getaway"
Spent two nights at the Lodge & Spa at Cordillera just prior to meeting up with some friends down at Copper Mountain for a long-weekend ski trip. Our overall experience was great. The lodge itself is very nice; not the most "posh" place we've stayed at in the area (i.e. not the Four Seasons in Vail or the Ritz at Bachelor Gulch), but defnitely one of […] the better ones.. The highlights of our stay included: 1) nice/comfortable room (Cordillera Suite) with two balconies that each featured views of the mountains and valley; 2) complimentary shuttle ride to Beaver Creek resort and access to the The Cordillera Beaver Creek Club, which provides a place to store ski-gear directly adjacent to the Straberry Park lift at Beaver Creek (wonderful amenity) and refreshments (soda, coffee, tea) and light appetizers (chips and salsa, soup) 3) wonderful dining experience at Mirador, one of the restauarants on site; and 4) all staff members we encountered were friendly, and two in particular (our server at Mirador and the concierge at The Cordillera Beaver Creek Club) were absolutely great. 5) ambiance of the property itself; probably due to the time of year of our stay, the lodge was not crowded at all and we certainly enjoyed the peace and quiet. Response by The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera It seems that you truly enjoyed your experience at The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera, which is exactly what we hope for guests, whether they’re with us for a two-night stay or a week-long ski vacation. You got to see and do a great deal while you were here and we loved reading about your positive experiences at Mirador, our private mountain club at the base of the Beaver Creek Ski Resort and more. While we are tucked away a few miles off the beaten path, there is never a shortage of resort events and amenities to enjoy. There is also our complimentary shuttle service to Vail and Beaver Creek Ski Resorts, as you mentioned. Thank you for your feedback, we hope to welcome you back next time your travels bring you to the Vail Valley.
"Beautiful resort, amazing views!"
I've been going to Cordillera since I was a child. It used to be "the" place to go. It's still very nice and the rooms are very comfortable with incredible views of enormous mountains and valleys. The carpets could stand to be replaced and some of the furniture is very scratched up and obviously older, but it's still very tasteful and beautiful. The […] staff is incredible and really goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and pampered. The most disappointing thing for me was the pool. It's a large indoor pool surrounded by glass overlooking the outside pool and hot tub. They used to have beautiful exotic plants surrounding the pool, hanging from the ceiling and the entire area was one of the highlights of the resort. Now it's just a pool surrounded by nothing - very plain and uneventful. That was kind of sad but overall, it's still a great place to go. The bathrooms have obviously been remodeled beautifully, which was very nice. Great restaurant in the resort or be sure to hit the authentic Irish pub, which is part of the resort, across the street!! Beautiful atmosphere (actually built in Ireland) and excellent food. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to going there again in the summer. For winter, very close to Vail and Beaver Creek - perfect for a skiing weekend! Response by The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera It is always wonderful to hear from a returning guest who frequented our property for years. We’re delighted you continue to experience the same, relaxing accommodations, beautiful views and attentive service you have come to expect from The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera over the years. We appreciate your warm acknowledgment of our on-site dining at both Mirador and Grouse on the Green as well as recreational amenities. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, we cannot wait for the next opportunity we have to welcome you back to our resort.
"A brief nice stay"
We used Cordillera as an airport hotel, en route home, arriving after lunch and leaving before breakfast. The deluxe room was spartan but boasted all needed creature comforts, and the view from our snowy terrace was breathtaking. The indoor pool and spa were great. Dinner was delicious. A few criticisms. There was no guide button on the tv so we couldn't […] figure out what was on and though the hotel book said the tv had HBO, it wasn't there. And room service, while swift and polite, neglected to bring us bread. Small things, but we noticed. He incredibly helpful staff more than made up for those small lapses. "Beautiful hotel in the Cordilleras"
We loved the hotel! It was gorgeous but a bit isolated . The best part was they provided complimentary shuttle service to Vail and Beaver Creek ski areas and they had a ski lodge for guest use in the center of the ski areas. The only negative would be it is far from the town and restaurants and they do not provide a shuttle into Edwards so you can only […] have dinner at the hotel or spend a lot of money to get a cab into Edwards. Response by The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera A ski and snowboard destination for many, The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera is happy to offer shuttle service to and from Vail and Beaver Creek Mountains as well as all of the amenities of our private clubs at the base of both mountains. We are pleased you enjoyed these aspect of your visit as well as our property which is tucked away for a truly relaxing visit. Our concierge is happy to schedule taxis, shuttles, or private transportation for guests who wish to visit nearby towns, however, we often recommend securing a rental vehicle so that you can take in all there is to see in the Vail Valley. "First Visit to Colorado"
Hotel is secluded, which I liked. We had a rental car and enjoyed the scenery to and from the hotel to Vail/Beaver Creek skiing and to and from the Denver airport. Our king room was a good size. The thing I didn't like about the room is that guests can't control the thermostat...it's controlled by the hotel. The room was always too hot but they finally […] got it regulated to a comfortable temp. Buffet breakfast was good. Room Service left a lot to be desired, unfortunately. The first time I ordered, they forgot to bring our food but did provide it free of charge. (over an hour later for a salad and pizza) The food was way over priced for the quality. The television and remote control were antiquated...really?? At these rates? The bedside phone was antiquated as well. Bath had a huge tub and a nice separate shower. The robes provided were outdated and in need of replacement. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This hotel just about has it all. The staff is amazing, the food is wonderful and the views are terrific. It is clean and comfortable. "Awesome location - needs update"
Been to lots of places in Colorado - best overall views are at the Lodge! Updates are necessary - brass fixtures, worn carpets, old tv - but overall the Lodge is a great place to get away. "Relaxing environment with great scenic appeal"
My wife and I found the hotel and location to be very nice and relaxing. We were there for 4 nights. We flew into Eagle, and drove to the hotel. It took about 20-30 mins. It is a short distance away from the town of Edwards, about 15 mins from Beaver Creek, and is very quite and secluded. It is not a large hotel, and looks more like a mountain lodge. […] The facilities are very nice, but could use some updating (I imagine it is hard to keep carpets clean and fresh looking with all of the snow and muck that gets tracked in). The room was very large, with a wonderful mountain view, balcony, and a gas fireplace in the room. The housekeeping service was great. They really did a good job keeping our room cleaned and tidy. We relied on room service several times, and the hotel restaurant once. The meal prices are very high, and the menu leans toward a gourmet cuisine. Which is OK sometimes, but often you just want simple food. We did not get to use the Spa services. We would definitely recommend the hotel, and look forward to visiting again in the future. "Great staff in a really average setting."
The good news is that the staff here is excellent - start to finish. Friendly and efficient, they are a pleasure. The bad news is that the hotel seems to be in a sort of "faded glory" mode. I expected more, given the glowing reviews I had read from many sources and the touting of the "Spa and Lodge". WHile it is fine for a hotel, everything looked a […] bit tired and worn. We had great massages in the spa, but again, that's good choice of staff, not the rooms, the ambience, or the other things (sad old robes and towels, for example). It is located in a closed residential community and therefore not near anything, but the views are nice and the shuttle service to Beaver Creek is great. They keep a "club" room in Beaver Creek which is a great amenity and again, staffed with a wonderful "host". Rooms are clean and okay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice Stay, But a Few Concerns"
Great location in an upscale gated community. Fantastic views in all directions. Nice Colorado-style furnishings and ambiance. However, my room was unbearably hot the entire time. I had to keep the door to my balcony completely open, both day and night. It was somewhat disconcerting to sleep at night when others could have easily gotten access to my […] balcony and therefore my room. Also, I received no maid service one day, even though I was gone the entire day and I didn't have a Do Not Disturb sign posted. I called the front desk upon my return and they sent somebody to service my room. They mostly just took away my trash. The beverages from my glasses were dumped, but the dirty glasses weren't replaced with fresh glasses. The next morning I drank from a used glass, as evidenced by my lip gloss on the rim of the glass from the previous day. This was my first visit to this lodge. I may return, I may not ... but I expected more. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The hotel is tucked away in the residential community Cordillera in the hills above Edwards, CO which is a short drive from the Eagle county airport. The area is scenic and does have multiple sections within the community which you can explore. The amenities are quite good. The main benefit of the hotel is it's detachment from the hustle and bustle […] and crowds of Vail and Beaver Creek and scenic beauty. The spa, gym, and locker rooms were excellent. The happy hour samplings and food at the restaurants were great. The pool was not overcrowded and pool service was above average. The concierge will book excursions and were very helpful and polite. The valet service was good and the guys always were prompt, pleasant and engaging. I had no trouble with navigating in and out of Vail and Beaver Creek to attend events and sample some of the culinary delights of those respective towns. While Cordillera could use updating and improvement on hallway carpet, but it is a mountain resort after all. The staff was AMAZING!
