First off, travellers need to be aware that Celie's is located in the heart of the restaurant & bar district of old Fell's Point in Baltimore. If you are looking for a quiet, secluded location, this is NOT the place to go. However, if you are looking for a more lively romantic getaway, this is the place! The location is across the street from the old […] City Pier in Fell's Point where Homicide was filmed. The many restaurants and bars in the area provide a great variety of options. Celie's itself is a very warm, clean, inviting inn, with very nice rooms (incl. fireplace & jacuzzi tub) that is perfect for a romantic interlude. The street noise can be a bit loud until 2am when the bars close, and parking is either on the street (meters) or several blocks away in a lot, but these negatives are greatly overcome by the friendly staff, beautiful rooms, & great lively location. One just needs to be aware of what they are looking for, & whether that dovetails with what Celie's has to offer. Read more

I don't know Baltimore. I worked in Light Street for 2 days. I thought everything was walking distance. It wasn't exactly, but I was glad to discover this part of Baltimore. The only slightly negative part was that the desk clerk didn't very well explain the parking, nor was it clear on the website. This is a perfect location for a Fell's Point weekend; right in the middle of the hussle and bustle of the numerous restaurants and bars in the area. The accomodations in room #1 were excellent, and not terribly noisey with the windows closed. Fell's Point is not a location to go to for a quiet retreat, regardless of where you stay. The room was clean […] and had the added bonus of a whirlpool bathtub. The only negative is that the parking lot is off site and several blocks away from Celie's...I suggest trying to get one of the parking spots nearby instead. Read more

I stayed in Room 7, the Courtyard area which was small, but adequate for a one night stay. The bathroom was very nice, the room clean. I was somewhat nervous of my door being right off the common area alleyway which is open to the weather elements and hearing people pass by. Next time, I would prefer a room on the top floor.

Celie's is certainly convenient to the downtown Fells Point waterfront, includes a rooftop view of the harbor, and is a lovely old building, well-appointed and furnished. My room was exquisitely clean, the bed and linens luxurious, but #7 is, and is priced as, a small room. Minor disappointment in that its bathroom is not independently heated. Staff […] was courteous and helpful, continental breakfast adequate, other rooms are doubtless roomier and some have views and balconies. The heater/A-C is a bit noisier than are some hotels', but didn't actually keep me from sleeping, and did its job well. Parking was available 1 1/2 blocks away, for a reasonable fee. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby from which to choose, including an excellent Irish pub/sportsbar/restaurant literally next door at which one can get hearty and tasty fare. The outside night noises are no worse than at the other small inn in the midst of this active bar/restaurant scene. Water taxis giving access to the entire harbor area are literally right across the street. If you're looking for all the bells and whistles, then don't pick B&B's - if you enjoy individual charm and character at a reasonable price, this is your sort of place. We will return. Read more

Great place next to lively nightlife and great views. Water taxis close by make it easy yo get around the city with great views. Hotel was beautiful and unique, the type of place you want to get away with that special someone. Breakfast was included and was always satisfying. Only complaint was the Internet was not functioning properly.

great location...parking a rip off. should not be called a bed and breakfast....not much breakfast. very loud because you are so close to the bar scene. innkeeper is very nice...but attention to detail is missing.

I do not feel that we got the value for the high price paid for the room. Inside, the accomodations are beautiful. However, having to navigate a locked gate to a narrow alleyway, then 2 locked doors was inconvenient (especially since we were traveling as a family) The large vacant building directly across the street also generally had individuals sleeping […] on the stairs, which definitely did not help the view. This is a charming, sweet hotel right next to the water as well as bars that stay open until rather late in the evening. The next morning there were two very drunk people waking up outsidethe hotel's front door. Maybe the were the ones singing "The Star Spangled Banner" in the middle of the night. The staff was helpful, the patio where breakfast was served […] was leafy and cool, (even on an unusually hot day in Baltimore), and there is access to the rooftop. Read more
