Crystal River Inn - San Marcos

Nice B&B in the middle of downtown San Marcos. A refreshing change from the standard hotel chains that are everywhere. Nice room with updated furnishings. Worth a visit when you are in the area.

Super convenient location for walkers and tourists. Breakfasts were ample, tasty, lovely to look at -- AND a healthy balance of fruit, protein, and starch!

Very clean and cosy B&B. Excellent location especially when attending anything at Texas State. The room was a little drafty, primarily due to the age of the house itself. Excellent breakfast. Courteous staff......overall excellent place to stay!

This B & B is very nice. Lovely breakfast and nice staff. I plan to go back for the Mystery weekend!

The Hotel was a B&B. We did not stay in the main house, we were taken through a small garaden area and past through a small parking lot to the Rock House. I took my mother for a belated Mother's Day weekend away to shop in Wimberley and stay at this B & B. When we arrived, the woman who answered the door didn't know who we were and said that they were all very busy with a big catering job. We were handed a key, told where to park and left on our own. The room was pretty, but the street noise and loud […] train did not make for a good night's rest. The television would not turn on, and when I called the number to report a problem, the lady who answered said she couldn't help because she was at her son's graduation. I had to go to the kitchen in the next house to get my mother some ice, and there was no coffee made in our house in the morning. We were told breakfast was at 9:00, but when we arrived, there was no one in the dining room, so we stood around awkwardly for 10-15 minutes. What should have been a very special, quiet weekend turned into almost a disaster. Plus the restaurant recommended for dinner -- we both had to send our meals back due to being undercooked. We enjoyed our stay. Rooms were clean and the river side rooms had a dynamic view of the river and valley. The maid service was very good. Internect access was a pain. Not very human friendly. Restrurants were good and offere a wide price rance to choose from. Also the store provided food that you could prepair yourself.

A very nice stay at this B&B. Very well maintained 100 year old historic home with a great staff. Full breakfast -- eggs to die for, bacon, toast and fruit. Beats a lot of hotels with continental fares. Will stay there again and recommend.

I love staying here...the owners are very accomodating. I had to leave super early for a meeting and would miss breakfast, but they made me some muffins for the road the night before! Love that all the rooms are styled differently. Only complaint - hot water seems to take a LONG time to get hot! The breakfast was beautifully presented, sumptuous and delicious. The room was very comfortable and the overall experience was just delightful. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Shower, stairs to the second floor were not acceptable just plain dirty... a turn off as soon as you walk in. Towels and sheets were clean. Bed spring noisy, matress very unconfortable. I must have had worst room in the house. Patio was well maintanied. Service and breakfast was good. Bad experience for a weeding anniversary.

I enjoyed my stay at CRI. I didn't see the innkeepers much due to my hours, but when I did they seemed nice. My room was facing the busy street, and the street noise bothered me all night. The price was good, comprable to local hotels. The king size bed was very comfortable and my back was happy the next day! I will return soon.

CRI was a fabulous place to stay. I was greeted immediately and made to feel at home. They were helpful when I was overwhelmed by the number of restaurant choices. They recommended a wonderful eating place that I will visit again. I am already planning my next visit.

I had booked at the last minute and arrived Late. I was able to get directions from the hospital to the property from the innkeeper at 11pm that were not only accurate, but comprehensive enough that the ditz who gets lost backing out of her own driveway arrived without a wrong turn. This is the first time I've ever slept in a strange bed and not woken with a backache! Breakfast was ready when ordered and delicious. A fantastic stay in a really neat place with good people to take care of me. I'm excited to have found the Crystal River because this was the first of what may for me be regular business trips to the area. I intend to go back, and suggest you try it too! Read more

This is a perfect place to stay when visiting San Marcos. I had stayed in some of the pricey hotels before and was very unhappy. This place is beautiful, everyone is friendly and it is close to everything.
