Right across the street from the Lake, had a great jog in the morning along the Lake. My wife and I were very satisfied with the service and quality of the comfy and cozy little room we had. Definitely would stay again! Clean and good location.

Hotel was quiet with a beautiful view of the lake. Staff was very friendly. The only complaint I had was the thermostat control. It was set for heat, which was not needed. To switch to cool we had to call the office and have them come and make an adjustment. Very unpractical. We just left the sliding door open to let cool air in. I am not sure as to why this place is rated 3 stars and how the overall rating is 4.1 / 5. The location is awesome and they can do so much with the place. But they have not kept it neat and tidy at all. The carpet in the hallway is totally worn out, and dusty (possibly decades old). The hallways smell of stale air - no good ventillation, and have very […] little lighting. The room carpet was no better - Plus it was damp. The lighting in the room too was horrible. The bathroom floor was slippery. The TV was the old 19 inch big box (not flat screen) - with no cable box or other options. And to top all of this - as we were getting ready to go to Bed - a huge SPIDER rolled onto the bed from the side - at which point the children got completely grossed out. We were to spend 2 nights - but after the Spider episode, we could not risk another night and checked out next day. Given what we paid as the nightly rate (breakfast not included), we were expecting a comparable clean, well-maintained facility. But the place is not impressive at all. Even the external facade is not inviting. The paint on the exterior as well as the roof seems to many years old. We walked about a mile each way, and there are other establishments whose external appearance and parking lots are in much better condition. Read more

When I reserved the room it said with garden view, my view was a ugly trailer park. Small room with a queen bed that seem like a full. And some strange noise every few minutes thru the walls. It didn't seem busy enough for us to be put way in the back of the place. We travel a lot, and was very disappointed.

Standard hotel. Best part is its location right across from Lake Tahoe and about 1 mile from Heavenly Ski Resort. It provides all you need for a nice ski vacation.

Had our rooms heating/air conditioning system not broken down, my rating for would have been higher. It only got a 3 because the desk staff tried hard to make our stay enjoyable while the maintenance staff failed to fix our room climate control system leaving us in a room that we couldn't get below 76 degrees for 2 nights. We both like to sleep in a […] room approx 68 degrees so the room heating up to 78 made it uncomfortable. For the high off season rates, we expected more from the hotel in general, i.e., view was a trade off for the heavy street traffic sounds, trailer park in the rear was a turn off, but the bed & the shower was FANTASTIC! the hotel is well located and very close to the lake. it is probably one of the best located hotels in south lake tahoe. it is also at the neighborhood of a great restaurant -- macduff's. Try that restaurant if time is permitted.

I could see the lake from my room, which is always nice :). The rooms are clean and comfortable. There's also a ski/bike storage area for free as well. MacDuff's Pub next door has great food and drinks. Would stay here again next time I'm in tahoe.

The staff was amazing! The only caution I would have for anyone booking the queen beds lake view is it comes with a price. We had a spectacular view of the lake that gave us two very amazing sunsets but the room is right on Hwy 50 and the traffic noise is the trade off for the view. Dixie ll Dinner Dance Cruise that leaves from Zephyr Cove and it too was amazing. The food was excellent and the staff on the boat went above and beyond to make sure that your needs were met. All of the staff are wonderful and very friendly! My Spouse and I vacationed for the weekend for his birthday. It was our first visit to South Lake Tahoe. We rode the Amtrak bus and there was a 3 hour difference in the hotel check out time and the departure of the bus. They immediately apologized for the delay, and after it was clear that the room would not be ready for quite a while, upgraded us to the next higher room level which was ready. We had a spectacular view of the lake and sunrise/sunset. We came to Tahoe for some skiing and sightseeing and this place is in a great location. It is right on the lake and inbetween the stateline and lower end of town. Room was clean and heater worked great as it was really cold. Try the restaurant, McDuff's, just a short walk behind the hotel. Good food and service.

strangely upon check in, was greeted with a waiver that stated if caught smoking or partying you will be immediate removal from the hotel. The option to not signing the waiver was to post a large deposit. I have to say, never received a hotel reception that began with a lecture and description of punishment imposed. We were there for one night only and for the price we had to pay, it was disappointing to say the least. The shower barely worked, the floors weren't very clean, there was gum on the sink knob. The only bright spot was the view of the lake from our room.

The name is deceiving, it is on the other side of lake tahoe blvd, but hey, if it is really on the lake side, it will cost at least double. This hotel is not luxurious in any way, but it is pretty clean and close to the lake. it is still providing old CRT television and the bed is a little soft for me.
