My husband and I chose to stay at the Bear Creek Lodge for our 6 year wedding anniversary. Because of the more private location and the reasonable rates, we chose this lodge over others. After easily granting us an early check-in, we discovered a spacious, one-bedroom condo that was warm, comfortable, and inviting. The shuttle service was prompt and […] easy to use, although we soon discovered that walking to the gondola and to Mountain Village is just as easy. The only downside was that there were several families using the pool and hot tubs throughout our stay, and our room was in the midst of all of the noise. When I forgot a dress in the bedroom closet, staff searched for it and sent it back promptly. Overall, we had a fabulous stay and can't wait to stay again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Here for family vacation with her daughters. Room was clean and roomy with very nice kitchen. The service was excellent, we had an issue in the condo that they took care of immediately. Loved the staff. Parking was very difficult, not enough for the number of rooms. The beds were also very uncomfortable. The king bed in the room was lumpy and very soft. […] The pullout bed for our daughters was very uncomfortable and sagged to the middle. These areas would need to be improved for us to stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just a hop & a skip to the gondola to Telluride"
Overall, it's a great location close to the gondola which connects to Telluride hiking trails and shopping. Staff at Bear Creek is friendly and quick to respond to requests for service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Extra friendly staff and great location"
While not in the core of Mountain Village, the shuttle service made it extremely easy to get anywhere we needed to go. The staff at Bear Creek Lodge were extra special and were very helpful during our stay. We had a family of 4 and got a 1 bedroom. The living and kitchen areas were well sized, but for 4 people (kids of both genders) I think we will […] go with a 2 bdrm next time. The funicular was great to take you right to the lower part of village bypass off of the lift 4 run where you can ski down to the bottom. We liked the ping pong table and the work out facilities on site. We had a great time here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Bear creek lodge is an old building but still very good. The rooms are larger than other condos. It is a ski in ski out facility if the funicular works. They have a great shuttle system. The staff is helpful but the rooms don't get cleaned everyday which is not unusual for a ski condo. Our condo had a full kitchen which was great with kids. "Nice stay near Telluride"
The room/condo was gorgeous. However, the bathrooms were small and had no counter space. There were not any full length mirrors either which made getting ready very difficult. The staff seemed confused and bored, but we didn't have to interact with them much after checking in.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Terrific Vacation Location"
My husband and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary in Telluride and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bear Creek Lodge! Our 1 bedroom condo was very clean, spacious and more than we could have hoped for with a full sized kitchen, washer/dryer, jetted tub, comfy king sized bed and fireplace. The lodge itself has quite the array of fun amenities […] too including a heated pool, 3 hot tubs, sauna, fitness room with play area for the kiddos, complimentary coffee and cookies as well as DVD's that you can check out. It is also conveniently located within walking distance to the local grocery store and free gondolas. If you would rather not walk, they also have free shuttle service. We would both highly recommend the Bear Creek Lodge to anyone vacationing in the Telluride area!!! :-) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay!"
My husband and I were very excited when we walked into our room. It was more then we expected and was one of the nicest place we've every stayed at. It wasn't just a room it was a condo, fully furnished with everything we need from a fully furnished kitchen, comfortable furniture, amazing jetted tub, fireplace, and a beautiful view! We are planning […] on returning every Fall and we'll invite friends and family to join us next time. The staff was amazing, if we needed something they were on it. It's worth every penny we paid. We enjoyed our stay. The unit itself was nice and well kept, a bit dusty. The staff was helpfull and very nice. The pool and hot tub were clean. The views great. Easy access to the gondola to Telluride, Great vacation would recomend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed at the Bear Creek Lodge for three nights late in September. we love Telluride, but it can get very pricey fast, so we were happy to find the lodge, which was rated well, for a good price. That being said, we were a little wary due to it being a timeshare, we have had awful experiences with them in the past. Check in went well, staff was pleasing […] and quick to point out amenities and town highlights. First impression of the room was good, relatively clean, nice layout, large kitchen set up for six, even though you could not sleep more than four. The king bed was very hard and was like sleeping on springs. Every slight movement sent the bed bouncing making for absolutely horrible sleeping conditions. The pillows were terrible as well. Small, flat, no loft and lumpy were there was stuffing. They are the type that costs $5 but have been used for many years. The three nights there were some of the worst sleeping I have had in a long time. Additionally there was an old cloth chair in the living room which was worn out and smelled. I did not go near it. I gave an overall terrible rating because I use a room for primarily sleeping, which was elusive here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic place to stay in Teluride."
Everything was wonderful, facilities, pools, parking, the suite we stayed in was awesome, fully featured, and extremely clean. The only thing that I can think of to gripe about is the mattresses were very soft and we like firm matresses so they weren't comfortable to us but that's not surprising. Everything else was fantastic and very reasonably pr […] iced. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Loved our place at the Bear Creek Lodge! Location to the gondola was perfect, room for the entire family, and hospitality was very friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
Front desk and manager were incredibly wonderful in helping us find an alternative place to stay our first night when we were unable to make it due to a natural disaster. The place itself is gorgeous with the only drawbacks being the inconvenient parking system and the hard bed and pillows after having spent hours on the road.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice condo with nice amenities. Friendly service and convenient location....very close to market and gondola into Mountain Village which you can then take down to town of Telluride. Great summer retreat and would be awesome ski rental!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our Family Vacation"
We were very pleased with the hotel. The kitchen was terrific because they had everything to cook with and eat with and clean with. The only thing I could complain about was the outside hot tub wasn't working on one of the nights we were there. Otherwise, it was perfect. Very enjoyable.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great Place to stay in Telluride"
We loved the Bear Creek Lodge, it is located above the town of Telluride. You take the shuttle over to the village and can ride the gondola up and down into town. The location is great they have a beautiful pool. The staff are so friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent condo in great location with mtn. views"
Our stay at the Bear Creek Lodge was excellent. The only drawbacks were the lack of Internet connectivity from our condo - I had to go to the lobby to get connected - and the fact that the bedroom faced east. My wife has trouble sleeping and the early sun was therefore a problem. The condo was very nice, the view of the mountains from our deck was spectacular, […] and I was able to run down the hill to the Town Hall and the condo in just a couple of minutes - running back up the hill took longer, given the steepness of the road and the 10,000+ foot elevation. The hotel staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The next time we visit Telluride - my wife's sister and family live in the area - we will definitely try to book a reservation at the Bear Creek Lodge. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great in the off season"
Luxurious, spacious rooms at a great price in the off season. Stayed here two weeks out of the last four for business. But seriously, no housekeeping over four days each time? I guess that's the tradeoff for the great price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Bear Creek Lodge in Telluride"
Each room is decorated different according to owner. Our carpet was filthy dirty and the linens were old and stained. Our TV was so small it was difficult to […] see across the room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our room was nice but felt dirty"
10/15/14 micsue123 Atlanta, Georgia
We stayed in room 302. First let me start of with the pros: Room was huge! We had a little nook as soon as you walk in the door to store stuff. The bedroom and bathroom were off to the right as you walked in. If you kept going, there was a dining room table that sat at least 6 and then a very big living space and kitchen. We could have cooked some big meals there! The lodge itself was nice, the people that worked there were very friendly and helpful. Now for the cons: It just felt dirty. The floor needed to be vacuumed and there were other peoples hair all around, including on pillows and towels :( eww You will not get a view from this room. Your view is trees. Not really a big deal though, we weren't in the room that much anyway. Other things to note: In order to get to the town of Telluride, you have to either drive about 15 minutes, or take 3 gondolas to get there. Driving or gondola takes about the same amount of time. I loved the gondola ride, it was beautiful and you get to see a lot of pretty views. Also, you can drink in town and then gondola up to the hotel which is nice, you don't have to worry about DUI's. In order to get to the gondola from the lodge you have to drive or get a shuttle from the lodge. We always did the shuttle and never had to wait. We would call the lodge on the last gondola ride up and they would be there waiting for us by the time we got off.
"Great staff but not room 311"
09/30/14 person99999 Sydney, Australia
Stay at this lodge as it has great staff / facilities & location . If u want to really cook - request another room as kitchen items are poor - little thing like tiny tiny bowls / small spoons/ 1 small pot - just disappointing for such a huge kitchen space. Room also needs a new TV as sound is poor ( probably needs new cords). I believe each unit is individually owned so it's not the management fault , just choose another room.

This is a lovely facility. We stayed in room 112 which was a 2 bedroom 2 bath unit. The master suite is exceptional with a huge well designed bathroom that makes it very easy for two people to get ready. The kitchen is large with nice appliances. There is a long bar with bar stools as well as a dining room table that seats 6. We were two couples spending three nights here and it easily met all our needs. Condo staff were extremely helpful. There is a shuttle service that will take you anywhere in the Mountain Village. It operates on demand and we rarely waited even 5 minutes after making a request. Top notch fitness room with many types of equipment and free weights.
"It really depends on what are you getting"
09/03/14 MXB48 Arvada, Colorado
Bear Creek Lodge is a timeshare facility. You can get entire 'villa' (2 bedrooms, great room, kitchen), or you can get a lock-off unit. Given the architecture, you can get a single 'hotel' like room, which (in case of Bear Creek) is the Master Bedroom + Master Bath, OR you can get something like 'junior suite', where you get the living room, kitchen and the SECOND bedroom (often 2 twin beds in a confined space). Hence, our 'hotel' room (#110B) had an exceptional bathroom (big and fancy), king bed, and closet - but NOTHING else. I found it insulting not having a single chair (or small table) in the unit. If the lodge is offering the unit on the market, they should assure there are the basic necessities - even Motel 6 knows better. The staff was helpfull, they added a mini-fridge ($20/week) and a coffe maker, but they could do nothing about missing furniture or the 19" TV belonging to the museum - hence my 3 star rating. That said, the lodge, albeit aging, is a 4-5 star property in a 5++ star environment, and (unlike the nearby Mountain Lodge) you get a free parking. It is within walking distance to gondola and a convenient store. Getting to the town (Telluride) is about 30 min gondola ride (and you do not have to worry about parking). We may have been lucky, but our stay was quiet, including people using the pool, whirlpool and pickininck area. As hikers, we have not spent too much time in the lodge - we have been coming to Telluride for years to enjoy the beaty of this area.
"Not worth it!!"

Whenever I visit Telluride, I usually look for a nice vacation rental by owner. I decided to give this lodge a try based on others reviews. Big mistake! While the lodge looks nice, once we were in our rooms, it was a different story. We had reserved a 2 bedroom with 2 twin beds and a king bed. We had 2 kings instead. The fireplace did not work. The bathtub drain did not. The dishwasher did not work. The front burner on the stove did not work. The wireless internet did not work either. The last night we were there, my toddler was having troubles sleeping, so her Dad decided to let her share the bed with me and slept on the pullout sofa. SO UNCOMFORTABLE!! Bear Creek Lodge needs to rethink their mattress choice. It was an old spiral spring mattress that when you tried to lay on it, it was nothing but springs digging into your back. I know that pullouts are usually not comfortable, but this was TERRIBLE. Bear Creek Lodge had 2 saving graces. The area that surrounds it is beautiful! It is hard to stay upset when surrounded by that environment. The staff is very friendly. Even though I was upset I spent all of my mornings at Bear Creek Lodge with maintenance repair in the room, he was very friendly. Needless to say, I will NOT be staying there again and I wouldn't recommend it either. There are far better choices in Mountain Village and Telluride.
"Wonderful family spot!"
08/23/14 MYGOODLIFE Texas
This is a wonderful place to stay with family or a couple. The prices in off season are very reasonable for the quality of the property. We stayed in #108 which was pet friendly as we were traveling with our pups. This unit was very well appointed in the kitchen and furnishings. There are frills on the patio for guests and a big fireplace with marshmallow holders for some mores! There are two hot tubs and a lovely pool. The staff at the lodge was very helpful. The have a shuttle that will take you to and from the gondola or it is a short walk down to gondola and grocery store. Definitely would go back!
"Great Stay at the Bear!"
Bear Creek Lodge was a great stay. The staff was very nice and helpful. We stayed in room 309A, the bigger the number the closer to the mountains, 312, I think, was the closest to the mountains. The parking lot is also on that end but a small price to pay for stunning views. The room itself had a big living room. The balcony is not big enough to put chairs on but you can fit 4 people on it to stand on, the only balconies to fit chairs are on the 4th floor. The bedroom was ok, the bed was a little soft and the bathroom a little small. We put the garbage under the bathroom sink and that helped. The kitchen has everything from pans, silverware, plates…everything you need. Pieces of advice…we came thru Cortez and I recommend bringing a cooler and shopping at Walmart to pick up groceries. The markets are in Mountain Village and Telluride are very expensive. The free gondola is only a half mile away and easy to walk to and the market is right next to the gondola. We took the gondola into the Mountain Village core which is a complex of many lodges and restaurants. The gondola ride to the core is 5 minutes. Then we connected to the free gondola that takes you into downtown telluride. You really don’t need to be driving around. I also played golf at the Telluride Golf Club only 5 minute drive from the lodge, it’s the only one within an hour of Telluride so they charge a premium but the scenery is stunning and I look forward to playing there again. All and all Bear Creek is a great place to stay we would definitely stay here again.
"1 bedroom condo was super roomy"

We booked this online at Hotels.com once we got a wedding invite for dear friends and knew we wanted to bring our dog along. Telluride is the perfect place to bring a large dog and feel right at home. The Bear Creek Lodge was assigned to us by the Mountainside Inn. It worked out perfectly since the shuttle driver would take us to the gondola any time we wanted to venture on the mountain or in town. It was a perfect weekend. Our 8 and 10 yr old children sleep on the sleeper sofa but found it too springy so the second and third nights we just put the mattress on the floor of the living room area. That worked like a charm. We enjoyed having the kitchen for breakfast and quick meals. We also used our washing machine since my son got his white shirt dirty at the rehearsal dinner and needed it for the wedding the following day. We will definitely stay at the property again. The pool and fire pit were nice extras. We did not use the BBQ but they were large and would have been easy to cook at.
"Peaceful & Quiet"
07/29/14 RvZpretoria London, United Kingdom
Although we were put in a dark room with no view of the mountains we stayed an extra night because of the location, amenities and friendly staff. Telluride mountain village is beautiful and have it's own village shop to buy food. We made use of the barbeque facilities at the hotel. Perfect taking and early morning swim and session in the very hot tub at 8am. The free shuttle service to the Gondola is a bonus. The bathroom with spa bath and big shower a huge plus. The place to go to get away from everything with all the luxury. Coffee in the lounge is great! The only gripe is barbeque is dirty and barbeque utensils very dirty.
"Amazing Experience in a Beautiful Town"
07/23/14 Tiffany H Plymouth, New Hampshire
This experience was the perfect place to stay with my family. The shuttle service made access to gondolas incredibly easy and the funicular was even better for ski in/ski out access. The staff was super friendly and make great recommendations for restaurants. Also, the rooms are HUGE! You are in your own personal Condo that is fully furnished in every single way! Stay here. Be Happy. Smile!
