Overall, it's a great location close to the gondola which connects to Telluride hiking trails and shopping. Staff at Bear Creek is friendly and quick to respond to requests for service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Extra friendly staff and great location"
While not in the core of Mountain Village, the shuttle service made it extremely easy to get anywhere we needed to go. The staff at Bear Creek Lodge were extra special and were very helpful during our stay. We had a family of 4 and got a 1 bedroom. The living and kitchen areas were well sized, but for 4 people (kids of both genders) I think we will […] go with a 2 bdrm next time. The funicular was great to take you right to the lower part of village bypass off of the lift 4 run where you can ski down to the bottom. We liked the ping pong table and the work out facilities on site. We had a great time here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Bear creek lodge is an old building but still very good. The rooms are larger than other condos. It is a ski in ski out facility if the funicular works. They have a great shuttle system. The staff is helpful but the rooms don't get cleaned everyday which is not unusual for a ski condo. Our condo had a full kitchen which was great with kids. "Nice stay near Telluride"
The room/condo was gorgeous. However, the bathrooms were small and had no counter space. There were not any full length mirrors either which made getting ready very difficult. The staff seemed confused and bored, but we didn't have to interact with them much after checking in.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Terrific Vacation Location"
My husband and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary in Telluride and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bear Creek Lodge! Our 1 bedroom condo was very clean, spacious and more than we could have hoped for with a full sized kitchen, washer/dryer, jetted tub, comfy king sized bed and fireplace. The lodge itself has quite the array of fun amenities […] too including a heated pool, 3 hot tubs, sauna, fitness room with play area for the kiddos, complimentary coffee and cookies as well as DVD's that you can check out. It is also conveniently located within walking distance to the local grocery store and free gondolas. If you would rather not walk, they also have free shuttle service. We would both highly recommend the Bear Creek Lodge to anyone vacationing in the Telluride area!!! :-) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay!"
My husband and I were very excited when we walked into our room. It was more then we expected and was one of the nicest place we've every stayed at. It wasn't just a room it was a condo, fully furnished with everything we need from a fully furnished kitchen, comfortable furniture, amazing jetted tub, fireplace, and a beautiful view! We are planning […] on returning every Fall and we'll invite friends and family to join us next time. The staff was amazing, if we needed something they were on it. It's worth every penny we paid. We enjoyed our stay. The unit itself was nice and well kept, a bit dusty. The staff was helpfull and very nice. The pool and hot tub were clean. The views great. Easy access to the gondola to Telluride, Great vacation would recomend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed at the Bear Creek Lodge for three nights late in September. we love Telluride, but it can get very pricey fast, so we were happy to find the lodge, which was rated well, for a good price. That being said, we were a little wary due to it being a timeshare, we have had awful experiences with them in the past. Check in went well, staff was pleasing […] and quick to point out amenities and town highlights. First impression of the room was good, relatively clean, nice layout, large kitchen set up for six, even though you could not sleep more than four. The king bed was very hard and was like sleeping on springs. Every slight movement sent the bed bouncing making for absolutely horrible sleeping conditions. The pillows were terrible as well. Small, flat, no loft and lumpy were there was stuffing. They are the type that costs $5 but have been used for many years. The three nights there were some of the worst sleeping I have had in a long time. Additionally there was an old cloth chair in the living room which was worn out and smelled. I did not go near it. I gave an overall terrible rating because I use a room for primarily sleeping, which was elusive here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic place to stay in Teluride."
Everything was wonderful, facilities, pools, parking, the suite we stayed in was awesome, fully featured, and extremely clean. The only thing that I can think of to gripe about is the mattresses were very soft and we like firm matresses so they weren't comfortable to us but that's not surprising. Everything else was fantastic and very reasonably pr […] iced. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This place is AMAZING! Our room was more than I could have imagined. It was super clean and stocked with everything we could ever need on our vacation. "Great get-away spot!"
Loved our place at the Bear Creek Lodge! Location to the gondola was perfect, room for the entire family, and hospitality was very friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
Front desk and manager were incredibly wonderful in helping us find an alternative place to stay our first night when we were unable to make it due to a natural disaster. The place itself is gorgeous with the only drawbacks being the inconvenient parking system and the hard bed and pillows after having spent hours on the road.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice condo with nice amenities. Friendly service and convenient location....very close to market and gondola into Mountain Village which you can then take down to town of Telluride. Great summer retreat and would be awesome ski rental!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our Family Vacation"
We were very pleased with the hotel. The kitchen was terrific because they had everything to cook with and eat with and clean with. The only thing I could complain about was the outside hot tub wasn't working on one of the nights we were there. Otherwise, it was perfect. Very enjoyable.Genuine Expedia guest review

We loved the Bear Creek Lodge, it is located above the town of Telluride. You take the shuttle over to the village and can ride the gondola up and down into town. The location is great they have a beautiful pool. The staff are so friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent condo in great location with mtn. views"
Our stay at the Bear Creek Lodge was excellent. The only drawbacks were the lack of Internet connectivity from our condo - I had to go to the lobby to get connected - and the fact that the bedroom faced east. My wife has trouble sleeping and the early sun was therefore a problem. The condo was very nice, the view of the mountains from our deck was spectacular, […] and I was able to run down the hill to the Town Hall and the condo in just a couple of minutes - running back up the hill took longer, given the steepness of the road and the 10,000+ foot elevation. The hotel staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The next time we visit Telluride - my wife's sister and family live in the area - we will definitely try to book a reservation at the Bear Creek Lodge. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great in the off season"
Luxurious, spacious rooms at a great price in the off season. Stayed here two weeks out of the last four for business. But seriously, no housekeeping over four days each time? I guess that's the tradeoff for the great price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Bear Creek Lodge in Telluride"
Each room is decorated different according to owner. Our carpet was filthy dirty and the linens were old and stained. The people that worked at the hotel were very nice but when more trash bags or toilet paper were requested ( because room cleaning is not included) one bag or one roll at a time was delivered. Our TV was so small it was difficult to […] see across the room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

My husband and I wanted a get-away for our anniversary and booked a "room" at Bear Creek Lodge based on other reviews. I didn't realize this is predominantly a condo(?) and we were in fact, just booking a "room". The small room, while clean and comfortable, had no "ambiance" and felt like we were sleeping in a walk-in closet. There was exactly ONE picture […] on the wall (and a nail where I guess another was supposed to go). When we arrived, we had to ask for a second bedside lamp so my husband could read in the evening. (they provided one) There was no housekeeping service for our 5 night stay, but the front desk did give us additional towels (when we asked). The lobby did not have comfortable chairs for reading (if we wanted to leave our room) and the lounges around the pool area were unusable, as they were cushioned and wet due to the daily afternoon rains. The staff was very friendly, but for an upscale community and a lovely "lodge" the whole experience was a real disappointment. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"When can we go back?"
Very friendly concierge, beautiful lodge, comfortable room; nice & quiet place to stay - we saw other lodges that seemed more like "party" around the pool environments, but we felt like the lodge was perfect for what we wanted - a relaxing getaway. We loved the close proximity to the gondola so we mainly walked, but it was nice to know we had the option […] of having the shuttle pick us up anytime. Rented bikes one day and rode them down the mountain trails to the lodge. We enjoyed that we never had to get in our car the whole time we were in Telluride due to walking, gondola & biking. "Way to stay in Telluride"

We rented a one-bedroom condo (unit 305A, main level, with kitchen and living room) in June 2014. It's a very large and comfortable space that has easy access to the main lodge and parking. The service offered by Misha and Heather (concierge/front desk) was terrific; they attended to our few but important requests quickly and effectively (and big smiles). Drivers Joe and Justin made the stay even more luxe with rides to Mountain Village on-demand. Our unit was spacious and a great value. We cooked two dinners in the full kitchen and recommend this unit over a standard "hotel room" if you're going to be here more than a couple of nights (we like to prepare our own meals about half the time to maintain some sense of dietary control). The lodge has great facilities including BBQ, pool, hot tub and gym.

We rented a 2 bedroom condo for 5 nights . I was worried it might not look as good as the pictures online but I was pleasantly surprised...it was even nicer ! All the staff from the front desk to drivers were some of the nicest people I have ever met .We had some problem with the wireless and were sent help right away and he even checked back with us the next day ... I loved the funicular to take us to the slopes or walk into town ...the hot tubs and pool along with exercise room were beautiful. Did I mention that a driver would take us or pick us up in Mountain Village with just a phone call ? We could not ask for better service ; I would highly recommend Bear Creek Lodge and hope to stay there again soon !

We stayed in a 3-bedroom condo the week before Christmas and was treated to some fantastic snow that week. Truth--If I could be guaranteed snow at that time of the year, I would be there hands down. People ask where should you stay--the town or Mountain Village. I've always preferred going to the party and not bringing it home to me...I want higher-end accommodations and therefore Mountain Village is for me. First--the property. Not a ski in ski out, buy still, pretty good location. They have free parking--about the only place in Mountain Village and they have a shuttle service that will take you or pick you up over to the market where the gondola is. Literally a 3 minute ride thee. The lobby is very nice...they have a small gym, sauna and jacuzzi downstairs and a an outdoor hot tub and pool. Second--The staff. EXCELLENT. A lot of young guys will be shuttling you back and forth to where you need to be...good guys. Tip them. They work hard. Front desk also was very attentive. Third--The room. We had a three bed room condo and loved it. Everything was updated and felt like we all had our own space. Nice kitchen and comfortable beds. The only thing we didn't like was not having maid service daily. It is an extra charge...or you get one free with 5 nights of lodging. I will be back...not a question of it, just when. While the ski in ski outs offer up some nice amenities as well, if you are a family, a hotel room doesn't cut it. Oh, one last thing. They brought Santa Claus in along with a professional photographer--for free. Kids could get their pictures with the best Santa I have ever seen. Heck, I almost bought in. Ok...last last thing--promise--I have to mention this. So whoever manages Telluride's social media is on top of his/her game. They researched me as a guest, found out some of the things I like (craft beer and AZ Diamondbacks) and they sent me a tweet while I was driving to Telluride letting me know they left me a gift back at the front desk. This was from the mountain, not the hotel. I was blown away and will never forget it. Makes me want to give up on Aspen and just focus on Telluride.
"Not a luxury property"

I stayed at the Bear Creek Lodge with my husband and two teenage children for Christmas, and we were satisfied, but not thrilled. This is our 5th trip to Telluride, and we absolutely love the town, the vibe and its people. We typically stay at the Mountain Lodge, a property just down the road from the Bear Creek, and unfortunately the comparisons are not favorable to the BCL. We stayed in Unit 108, a two-bedroom, two-bath condo that was quite spacious. First the positives: the service was great, and everyone - from the front desk to the bellmen to the shuttle drivers - was amazingly helpful and courteous. The kitchen was large with lots of counter space and had every kitchen utensil you could ever possibly need. The master bathroom was large, with a separate shower and jacuzzi tub. The baseboard heating (as opposed to forced air) keeps some moisture in the air – a plus in the dry mountain environment. Now for the negatives: this is not a luxury property. The lobby is cheaply decorated and furnished, and is not particularly inviting. Though I knew it ahead of time, the fact that there is no restaurant or bar on the property was a big minus for us. The unit was dark. The only windows looked out onto the walkway, which looked out onto the parking lot – not the best view. The jets in the jacuzzi tub in the second bathroom did not work, and the toilet ran constantly. And then….the beds!!! These were the worst beds I have ever slept in in my life. One of the two single beds in the second bedroom was not even a regular bed – it was actually a roll-away pushed up against the headboard to look as if it were a normal bed. One of the beds blocked the closet door so it would not open all the way. The bed in the rollaway couch was even worse – just a thin layer of pad over springs. The master bed was soft and lumpy, and the pillows and the bedding were just about the cheapest you can buy. It also had a very odd mix of furniture – literally none of it was bedroom furniture. No night stands, no dresser – just consoles, tables, a desk, and a large floor lamp that belongs in a living room. The bottom line is I expected more for the price we were paying.

My wife and I stayed in a one bedroom condo? at Bear Creek Lodge, and enjoyed it very much. The place was very clean, had everything we needed, and the staff were very polite and courteous. The staff was also very outgoing and helpful when we had questions. Shuttle service was excellent at taking us to and from the Gondola.

We stayed here in early October to enjoy the fall foliage. The staff make this place. From Suzanne, Misha, to Justin and the manager (whose name escapes me, I want to say Keith but could be wrong). They were all a true delight and made our stay just that much more enjoyable. Loved taking the gondola over to town and we did not drive for two days straight. Also appreciate the free parking. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Might be a bit cold in the winter as we were chilly in early October, but I did see heaters in each room. Would gladly return and I wish everyone there a wonderful winter season and Justin from Louisiana good luck with his ski lessons.

WOW, What a place the BCL is. We stayed here from 9-28 to 10-1 to enjoy the cool fall weather and aspen leaves changing and we were not disappointed. The Lodge is gorgeous and has EVERYTHING you need and more. We had Unit 305A which is a one bedroom lockout unit and can be a two or three bedroom if the other locked units are put to use as they are all connected. The unit had a nice kitchen with nice appliances which we put to use as we made breakfast there every moring as well as a couple of dinners. Four nice bar-stools at the open bar area to the kitchen with upgraded marble counters. Nice dining table as well. The living room was large and comfortable with a nice gas fireplace. There is a small balcony off the living room which is nice to enjoy some fresh rocky mountain air in the evenings. The bedroom is a bit small but very functional and has a nice bathroom right outside the door. We used their nice gas grills located near the pool to cook some steaks one night and they were very nice. They have a heated pool as well as a nice hot tub as well. The lobby area is very nice with a large screen TV to relax and watch sports if you like. The staff were all very nice and took care of all our needs as one day our Internet did not work and they sent up a tech ASAP to fix. All in all this is an excellent facility with all the comforts of home with a nice Colorado ambiance. The mountain village where the resort is located is awesome as well and the old town is only a 20 minute gondola ride away. Telluride and the Bear Creek Resort are hard to beat ANYWHERE else in Colorado and we will definitely be back to enjoy it again perhaps for ski season.

We had a great view of the mountains. The bathroom was excellent, great soaking tub and fantastic shower! We kept the windows open as there was no air conditioning but the room quickly cooled off. The staff was very helpful and even allowed us to use the shower after our trip on Black Bear Road, after we had checked out. Couldn't ask for better! The only drawback is the restaurants are in town (although the hotel provides a shuttle) and they closed fairly early so we could only grab a pizza, and they don't deliver. However, the front desk provided someone to get our pizza and bring it to us. Overall a great experience and we can't wait to come back.

Telluride and Mountain Village Are hard to get to but once you get there you're in heaven. Beautiful mountain views surrounds you. Summertime activities such as white water rafting hiking biking and golf are all available to you. Beautiful weather bright sunny skies clean-air and western motiff town make the place excellent. A population of cowboys hippies and regular people make for pleasant atmosphere. Their entertainment brings you back a few decades. Summer festivals are always sold out. Dining room is more limited in the summer than in the winter but still offers a variety of foods, and there are good.

Travel with a large group (family reunion) can be challenging, and through a friend, I learned of Bear Creek Lodge, Telluride, Colorado's best kept secret and biggest bang for the buck! I didn't think we could afford Penthouse unit 410, but we were amazed at how reasonable this huge, four bedroom four bath duplex was priced. Ten of us occupied this absolutely stunning unit with room to spare! The western sunset views from a full length balcony were breathtaking. The amenities were everything you'd expect from a five star hotel, but why squeeze into a small hotel room when you can have a condo as big as your house! The staff was beyond accommodating and there was something for everyone--pool, gym, internet, a private shuttle. Our family will be back and I hope our same unit number 410 is available!
