Just okay, I wouldn't recommend this resort. The buffet wasn't good, the steakhouse was pretty bad, they only had one steak offering. The japanese restaurant wasn't good either, Mahi Mahi was really bland and the tempura plate was way too fried. The French restaurant was amazing though. We didn't get a chance to try the Mexican restaurant. Overall, there are better places for the money

At the RIU Palace hotels you can experience resturants that serve you or you can go to buffet. Both places have great food. Plenty of bottle water. Shows every evening. Nice staff of people. You can see the humpback whales from distance in the early part of the year. Amazing. Also you can walk the beach to Cabo San Lucas.

My 4th visit to Riu Palace, Cabo. Too noisy for me this time. Loud music and so-called "entertainment" with unbearable microphone voice-overs, starts a 11-AM and doesn't stop until 11-PM. Despite being a large compound, it's hard to escape the noise. Food is very good 80% of the time. Front-desk lobby staff could be more helpful.

We were apprehensive about booking into Cabo because of potential hurricane damage but found nothing noticeable at the Riu Palace. It is a superb resort. The vast array of foods available at the buffet was overwhelming. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the beds and pillows comfortable. The liquor dispensers in the rooms were convenient if you just wanted to relax and take in the view and the mini bar was well stocked with bottled water, beer and soda. There was a small store located in the lobby which provided "those little items" which you may have forgotten. Taxis were available 24/7. There were five in our party and a taxi ride to just about anywhere, except the airport, was 20 US Dollars one way (FYI). Although, the resort was all inclusive, the staff appreciated a tip or two so bring a lot of single Dollars. There was an ATM located in the lobby, which was out of service when we were there, but we brought plenty of cash so that was not an issue for us. There was a very nice safe located in the room for keeping your passports, etc. Security was "tight" with a gated entrance and fenced compound. The front desk was very helpful, pulling your boarding passes and giving you addresses for places you wanted to go. The beach was beautiful but the sand was very deep so difficult for walking but we did not miss it as the pool areas were just as nice. Cons: The resort is for people on vacation! The noise level is high at night, very high.

1st room next to bar/ kitchen and above disco. Extremely noisy, but a nice room with nice balcony and view. Moved to smaller room / balcony. Two beds which were pushed together.. maid service was sporadic. Night time service non existent. Had to call for towels several times because of this. Bar was not restocked unless we asked and even then told two days. Even when thry cleaned the room, table surfaces were not cleaned.

The RIU Palace is a great place to stay. The hotel has great pools, and outstanding staff, great restaurants and it is one of the cleanest places I've ever stayed at. The staff is constantly cleaning. The drinks provided were top shelf, the restaurant food was excellent and the service was impeccable. If you are looking for a relaxing and beautiful spot to stay, you might want to consider the RIU Palace.

Had 2 cockroaches in room. One was in bathroom sink one on the floor. Staff would lie and say they didn't have bottled doseques beer but then we would see others have it. Beds were not comfortable and we were suppose to have king size bed and it was 2 full size beds pushed together. Would not go back to this resort.

The Riu Palace was beautiful. The staff were welcoming and polite. My only concern would be the food. The buffet is alright, not fantastic! And in order to get to the two nicest restaurants on the resort, one has to wake up at 6 am just to make a reservation. I would recommend the resort to others, my husband and I LOVE great food and we just don't feel like we got it at Riu Palace.

Expectations were high after having a great vacation during Cabo January '14; unfortunately, the return trip was very disappointing. Having stayed at the Riu Sante Fe previously we were looking forward to the upgraded accommodations and amenities at the Palace. After this trip...IF we return we would probably go to the Sante Fe or find a non all inclusive property. - Reserved "1 king bed, non-smoking room" , received side-by-side full beds and bedding. Sliding between mattresses and tug-of-war with undersized sheets was not planned. - Restaurant reservations are sparse and over 5 nights were we only able to score 1 walk in seating. - Mosquitoes were plentiful in the room. Residual from the storm? We were on the first floor--maybe higher floors are better. - Grounds are okay, but still recovering - Rooms are very noisy. We could here every person in the hall, next to us, and above us--again, a higher floor may be better - Too many parties / weddings - you have to expect a certain level of intoxication and noise at an all inclusive, but the crowd and resulting messes were too much.

Check in was the only problem we had. Our room was not ready until after 3:00. I had requested garden view, but this didn't happen. Friendliness of hotel staff was wonderful. There were no clocks except in lobby & in our room. Bring watch or other means of telling time. We had great meals. Strong undertow at beach. Not for swimming. Pools were very clean.

Great all around experience, my only complaint is that when I emailed the hotel about transportation from the airport I would have appreciated a heads up about the time share folks who have a station before the official cab line. We got dooped and wound up spending two and a half hours of our vacation at the Grand Solmar hotel. AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS!!!

We went for new years. Stayed 3 nights. When we got there at check in 3 pm the only place to eat is a buffet ( which was good Mexican food btw)..... Expedia advertised several restaurants on site *All Inclusive but turns out you need reservations?! And the reservations can only be made from 8-10 am on the day that you want to eat there. Ridiculous. The Japanese and italian place only seat 30-50 guests and there is 600 rooms so???? Unless you want to eat Mexican buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner don't do the all inclusive because at this hotel you will need reservations to eat at any of the other restaurants on site which are all supposed to be all inclusive.

We had a terrific stay at the Riu Palace in Cabo. The staff was exceptional, the food and drink excessive, and the atmosphere around the pool breathtaking! There were plenty of free activities around the hotel, but water sports and taxis were readily available if you wanted to do more. We would recommend taking small USD denomination bills for tipping, because change is very difficult to get around the hotel and it only comes back in pesos. We spent most of our time at the adult pool, but there was another pool for families. The restaurant reservation system is a bit dysfunctional, as you can only book the day of dining and choices were limited. However, we never had bad food anywhere in the hotel. We also drank water around the hotel and never got sick! We had six adults in our group and we had a terrific time!

Beautiful facility, staff "Top Notch", food excellent, beverages beyond plentiful, except for a few very minor issues, no real complaints with complex and stay. We orginally booked our room in Aug14, our daughters could not commit at that time, then the hurricane hit and we wernt sure the place was even still there let alone open. Our 1 daughter joined us in our room, we were charged full price with no additional ammenities, we tried to pre register and was told wait till we get there, our other daughter came after Christmas and got here own room, I thought full price to sleep on a couch in an existing reserved room was a bit excessive, other than that I would highly recommend this resort..

We stayed at Riu Palace from 12/26/14 to 1/2/15 and had a great week. The staff was very friendly and worked incredibly hard to serve. It seemed like the hotel has great systems in place to make sure the facilities and grounds stayed clean and well maintained. The rooms themselves were just ok for this kind of resort as the beds were some of the worst I've been on in any hotel, and the couch was old and faded ... just not what you'd expect here. The food was good for an all inclusive. Seemed to be a good variety and the staff in the restaurants were fantastic. Separating the pools with one being the place for music, games, etc, and the other being more quiet was much appreciated.

I would like to start with my experience with Expedia. I paid for oceanfront rooms and airport transportation that I did not get. I will not us Expedia again. The hotel is nice. The staff is great, so accommodating. The grounds and pools, beach, and all inclusive is great. The food is pretty good for all inclusive. The room could be better. The bed and bedding needs upgraded. Our rooms were musty, and air conditioning made it worse so we didn't use. The toilet and ceiling fan made a terrible sound. These could all be maintained and upgraded then the hotel would be great! Expedia did a bad job though, so I'm not impressed with Expedia.

Accommodations are top-notch. Comfortable and clean rooms. Staff is friendly and professional; they really make you feel like royalty. Multiple pools and recreation activities. Plenty of "quiet space" to lounge around...and....plenty of "fun/loud" space if you want to get wild. Our biggest complaint; our transportation service from airport to resort was 90 min late...and THEN we had a 60 min ride to the resort. No one bothered to apologize...or even offer us a drink (even water) while we waited.

The rooms and amenities were as pictured on the sites. Staff was friendly. Tipping helps! Food was good. Try the Japanese restaurant! Best we had. If buffet isn't your style make reservations ahead of time for specialty restaurants. Location was quiet and private but close enough to get downtown in minutes.

Very poor customer service !!!! especially the front desk staff.The people there were very rude, could not care less.We told them that the room had an odor and was musty , water from faucets was rusty , and she said "so what am I supposed to do" . Nothing was done to fix it. It was my son's b'day and I asked the concierge what they did for the customers and she said the room is decorated and a cake is sent to the room, despite her booking that for us it was never done , I requested and called 3 times that day to remind them and I was told it will be done but it was not , and when I called that night to ask why ,the guy who picked up had no reason for it , kept telling me somehow it was my fault. Again, not a single apology or effort to fix. They ran out of black tea every single day at breakfast and dinner, The first night I talked to the buffet manager and she sent up 5-6 tea bags to our room, but every single morning after that they were out! The only helpful and friendly person was Jonathan at the restaurant who bothered to ask if things were going well. We stayed at the Riu in Playa de carmen and things were much better there , customer service was good there. I would not recommend the Cabo location. Location is good. Pool, and other facilities were clean and well maintained . Room was average , musty odor, bathroom was old, water from faucets was yellow. Food was average, similar stuff everyday in buffet, drinks were average .

Great to stay at - the staff were very nice and it was very clean Great for kids and teenagers as all inclusive was great for them The only bummer was our room was a ground floor and I think had damp in it from the hurricane - as it was always musty and so we kept the door open to air it out and the bed / pillows weren't great for comfort but for some people I'm sure it will be fine ( im a picky pillow / bed because of my neck and back) The other downer was our friends - 18 in the family!! had a flight cancellation and had to stay an extra night and the hotel gouged them for an extra night - not cool as they had spent a lot of money already and were stuck to move that many family members and they wouldn't give them a break on the one night cost - it ended up costing them $5000 - not cool !! Riu palace as they were raving about the place and were planning another visit next year but not now for them . Other than that it is a great place - definitely worth another visit - just hope your flight doesn't get cancelled and u need one more night !!!!

Gorgeous grounds and the view is amazing! The food was hit or miss. I enjoyed some of the food choices, but overall, they were all a bit bland and repetitive. The facilities were all very clean and the presentation in general were very nice. Special shoutout to Nicholas Portanet, one of the managers. He truly made our stay great and was always happy to see us and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Overall, I would definitely come back!

The resort was great we had a fast check in the front desk was friendly. We were shown to our room it was what we were promised a king bed with an ocean view (not a big fan of the orange but I got over it). The food at the buffet was really good lots of options. We also at at the crystal while the food was really good there it just wasnt our style. The staff was always cleaning and really nice when ever we passed them. The pools were nice and clean only issues there wasn't a hot tub, and people need to watch their kids and tell then to not splash (obviously this one isn't the hotel's fault it's the parents). Also I suggest taking a water taxi if you are going g to go into town, your legs will thank you (everything looks close and like it would be an easy beach walk, trust me it's NOT! Haha) another suggestion grab a sit in the main bar area and watch the sun set it's beautiful up there. All in all we had a very relaxing fun vacation, we just ate, drank, an hung out in the pool.

During Christmas there were over 1600 patrons of the Riu Palace. For the most part they were quite happy. The Krystal is one of the eating areas that a reservation is necessary. The reservation must be made for the day that you are eating starting at 7 am. How many can the place seat for the two dinner times? 30! If you get to the line after 6:45 am, you are not going to get in. Each person can reserve for 4 people. How hard is it to see that after the 1st 7 people in line that everyone else is wasting their time. Come on management! 60 people out of 1600 get the good stuff each day. 7:00 am? Why? We are on vacation, which includes getting a few minutes extra sleep, not military role call. The food at the buffets is just so-so. Although lots of it, somewhat bland. It could be an exciting food with a little management ingenuity. The employees are some of the hardest working people I've seen. Always upbeat and cordial. The grounds are immaculate. Great vacation that could have been a "10" ---except!

We had a lovely time with our three children ages 22, 19 and 15. Staff couldn't have been nicer. Food was good, not great. Walls are a tad thin. Nice facilities. Would have liked a little more to do at night, but overall had a great time. The all inclusive made it super easy.

We stayed d at six different Riu Hotel most of the time at Riu palace. Next time we will try some other chain, because six time return customer in three year Riu do not even acknowledge return customer also we always have more than four room and we request on same floor every time they put us on different floor and will not give us room we reserved. The check in is very slow.

The hotel, staff and food were all amazing. We upgraded our room to a suite with an ocean view which was nice. Our only complaint was that everything about the bed was uncomfortable. The pillows were as small as a throw pillow, the mattress was thin and uncomfortable and the sheets did not stay attached to the mattress. The hotel was so many things going for it, however the bedrooms need some TLC.

The hotel was awesome. Food is ok and the rooms were a bit dated, but overall the hotel was great. Only thing that was a bit annoying was the music blaring from dusk till dawn.

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and the staff, without a doubt. Few minor things to note: 1. They claim that sides of a "U" shaped building are Ocean View, although they were ready to change this for us for next day. After a though, we did not opt, as cannot do un-packing and packing again :( 2. Buffet food, although great, gets repetitive after a while. The on site restaurants are hard to book for the same day.

my boyfriend and I went on a 5 night trip for our Christmas present. This was the best vacation we ever had. The rooms were clean, stocked with alcohol, beer, soda. The restaurants and buffet were all outstanding. Each restaurant had it's own cuisine and fine dining experience. The service at the restaurants and bars was exceptional. You don't need to leave the resort for anything. Plenty to do at the bars, pools, beach. YOu can go next door to the Riu Santa Fe property for sports bar and disco.

The check in staff, namely Josue was rude and non-accommodating. But Vanya saved the day! Between her and Mercedes, they made our stay the best it could be. The women staff were more accommodating then the men. But overall it was a pleasant stay.

The Palace was beautifully located on the sea. The guests, staff, tour guides, etc. were great. There was a nice selection of restaurant and menu choices. Our stay was absolutely perfect.
