Hotel Oriental - Portimao

We hope to be able to return for a longer stay. One night was not nearly enough. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were treated with friendly warmth and sincerity. The breakfast was tasty with much from which to choose. The setting of the property and the design are particularly pleasant. And the price was a rel bargain.

Stayed here for 6 nights on a girly break with my mum. The Hotel was of a very high standard, especially bearing in mind what we had paid. The location is stunning overlooking Praia da Rocha beach and is at the quieter end of Praia da Rocha but within easy walking distance from some excellent restaurants. It was quiet which suited us, mainly couples […] and older people. Word of warning there are 60 steps down (and up!!) to the beach. Didnt bother me but my mum found it a struggle. Rooms were large and spotlessly clean, both of our rooms had small kitchen areas and I was on the garden level so we were able to have a very pleasant lunch on the terrace each day. This was just divine. A little bit of Heaven on earth. Just what the doctor ordered. All those cliches and everyone of them is spot on. From the minute we walked into the hotel at 10.30 a.m we smiled untill we left four days later. We were checked in brought straight away to our beautiful fresh clean and comfortable room. We had'nt expected to get our […] room till 3.00pm...Was a great bonus to get room early as we had left home at 4.00a.m and were glad of forty winks . Staff were lovely especially the two lads at the poolside bar. I can't think of one minor complaint which is totally unusual for me, can be the customer from hell... Myself and my partner stayed here for 8 nights from the 10th June 2012. It was a wonderful place to stay, right in the heart of the town. The hotel is spotless and our room was cleaned daily with both the towels and bed linen changed daily. Staff were very helpful, from housekeeping to the frount of house staff. Breakfast was a mixed of hot or cold […] breakfast and the selection was unbeatable. Swimming pool was great(small pool for children) beautiful garden area and childs playarea too. The only bad word i would have is that if your looking for a sunlounger you would need to be up at around 7am to get one. People were putting there towels on the loungers at night time so you had no hope of getting one. They would use the beds for a little while and then head off to the beach or shopping and they would leave their towels there for the day. The hotel should stand by their policy regarding the sun beds. There is a lovely private walk to the beach from the hotel. I would come back to stay here again. Read more

An excellent hotel in every way. Helpful, cheerful staff. Wholesome breakfast;lovely beach view. Our only reservation is that the opaque window of the bathroom does not give full privacy and guests passing through the outside corridor can readily see shapes of person in bath !

A wonderful location right on the beach with a lovely pool with a a separate grass area for lounging. Comfortable lounges and shade when you want it. We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely. Only drawback was the air conditioner in the lounge area just didn't cut it. This meant leaving the drapes (with a lovely view) closed most of the time to […] keep the sun and heat out. Very comfortable room though with good bathroom facilities. We attended a buffet in the hotel with local entertainment that was very good. Situated around the pool and in the dining area it was a pleasant evening followed by a walk along the waterfront which is very busy and very entertaining. The night life is just a couple of steps away but we experienced no noise in our room. There are only THREE parking spaces for this hotel. We had little trouble finding nearby parking on the street (in September). Overall a very good experience - especially its excellent location. Read more

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt. Das Zimmer war schön und sauber, das Personal und der Service ausgezeichnet. Das Hotel bietet eine Toplage. Das reichhaltige und abwechslungsreiche Frühstück kann man bei einer traumhaften Aussicht genießen. Das alles zu einem unglaublich günstigen Preis. Wir kommen sicher wieder!

Hotel Oriental var perfekt for oss. Rommet var berre utruleg deilig, enkelt, stilfullt, reint. Stor seng, sofa, balkong med knallutsikt til Atlanterhavet. Og stor TV med mange kanalar. Badet var romsleg, reint, nytt. God plass i dusjen, god benkplass ved vasken, og bidè, for dei som ynskjer det. Frukosten var god, godt grovbrød, diverse bakst, pålegg, […] pølser, bønner, egg, frukt/yoghurt/müsli ++. Beliggenheita til hotellet kunne ikkje vore betre. Rett ved stranda, med utsikt, og mulegheiter for lange promenadar. Og akkurat passe i enden av turist-hovedgata; berre eit par minuttar å gå til restaurantar, og samtidig langt nok unna ståk frå barar (me var der i februar, då var det uansett roleg nattestid). Og når prisen på hotellet er sopass grei (i alle fall då me var der) - er dette eit kupp. Betjeningen var òg upåklageleg. Read more

Keurig schoon hotel met prettige medewerkers achter de receptie personeel in restaurant zijn erg saai. Wij hadden alleen ontbijt was een beetje ėėntonig maar genoeg keus. Het prettige van dit hotel is de ligging direct aan het strand via trap aan de achterzijde als je het hotel aan de voorzijde verlaat ga je naar rechts en ben je in 500 mtr aan de haven […] als je naar links gaat sta je na 300 mtr in het centrum . Hotel is in het rustige gedeelte gelegen advies alleen ontbijt zijn erg veel restaurants in de omgeving. En nergens zijn de de stranden zo mooi en schoon. Niet echt geschikt voor kinderen. Read more

Hotellet så flott ut på bildene, men virkeligheten var mye, mye bedre. Flott, nyopppuset hotell med en fantastisk beliggenhet nær stranden. Utsikten fra rommet vårt var utrolig flott, vi så ut over stranden og Atlanterhavet. Hyggelig betjening i resepsjonen, renholdet av vårt store rom var topp.Frokosten var god med godt brød, men vi savnet grønnsaker […] (tomater, agurker og paprika), Godt med mye frukt. Zimmer und Bad waren sehr geräumig und sauber. Die Küchenecke wurde von uns nicht genutzt, aber der Küphlschrank war sehr angnehm. Das Personal ist ausgesucht höflich und hilfsbereit. Wir wollten das Zimmer zur anderen Himmelsrichtung haben, leider waren diese belegt. Meget flot indrettet hotel - skønt og rummeligt værelse - havudsigt i første række. Maden omhyggeligt og lækkert tillavet og serveret. En hyggelig bar. Overalt en meget venlig betjening. Har stor lyst til igen at bo der! Alt i alt et meget anbefalelsesværdigt hotel!
