Nice and clean business type hotel. Booked it because it said it had parking, which can be tough in Palermo. When we arrived in the afternoon, we were told that their lot wasn't available until 8:00pm. Which was weird. There was no indication of any parking time restrictions upon booking. But luckily it was a Sunday, so we were actually able to find […] street parking. Don't know if this is normal, but if you need a place with parking, you might be better off looking elsewhere. We had an early flight, and their breakfast starts at 6:30. We were leaving at 6:15, and they had all the food set up, but the room wasn't open yet. I asked if we could just grab a couple of croissants to go. The request completely blew their minds. I guess no one's ever asked that before. After about 10 minutes of deliberation, they finally grabbed a couple of croissants and napkins and let us have them. It was totally out of the norm, but they made it happen, which was nice... Otherwise, the rooms are great, AC works well, the place is clean, and the showers actually have doors so you don't completely thrash the bathroom when you shower (a rarity in Europe). Location is convenient for old town and city center. Wireless works well downstairs in the lobby, but not in the rooms. Read more

We picked this hotel based on location and availability of car parking. The location is great, parking is across the street in a subterranean garage at 16 euros per day. Great location, great breakfast, super room - we had 3 adults and had a room with 2 large beds in main area, plus a double sofa bed in an alcove that gave us all plenty of room. This is not a 4-star property! We paid for an upgraded room, which turned out to be right on top of the paraking garage entrance - so everytime someone drove a car in/out we were subjected to a super load creaking/scratching noise. This happened throughout the night :-( Front desk staff are helpful, and polite.

Hotel is all in all a great value for the location; excellent breakfast is provided. If you like the hotel has trips they can try booking with a travel agent. Hotel in the city center with distance of famous landmarks and shopping. Hotel is 12 km from nearest beach mondello so bus or taxi needed.

Air conditioning not working, staff couldnt care less, poor english language skills, not particularly friendly, took them 3 days to change my room to a room with a balcony where i could sleep with window open. when asked for laundry service - hotel does not offer sent us to dry cleaners right opposite... no apologies...just a no. Great location - 5 minswalking from Politeama Square where airport bus drops off and 15 mins from central train/bus station. Modern and clean with helpful staff. Great buffet breakfast from eggs and bacon to cakes/cheese/meats. Local chinese restaurant just a couple of streets away. Would definitely stay here again.

No Parking, No wifi in room, 10 mins waiting for the lift as always being used by staff. The room could only be described as a broom cupboard. Extremely small room. We enjoyed our stay at the Mecure Palermo on two separate occasions. Staff were friendly and helpful, giving us information of how to get outside the city on local buses and where the airport bus departed from. Perfect English too. It was easy to find late at night after the airport shuttle bus dropped us at the Politeana stop in the main square. Always a fresh, plentiful variety of cereals, breads, cakes, pastries, fried and continental options. The computers in the lobby are great for Internet access and the bar area is comfortable to relax in. The room itself was pretty standard for 4* hotel but the bed was comfortable and air-conditioning functional. The only thing you're really missing is a view. No noise outside though and generally good soundproofing between rooms. Would consider staying here again if I returned to Palermo. Read more

This place is close to Politeama, which is where the airport express drops you off and also to a main bus terminal where busses leave for the main beach (Mondello). Lying just off Via Roma, you're walking distance to some of the best sights in Palermo too. Comfortable, friendly staff and good breakfast. You can't go wrong with this hotel.

Stayed twice in one week, the superior room was amazing, standard room had its window blocked by the fire escape and was much smaller. Both bathrooms were great and location is excellent, near lots of restaurants.

Spent a week here from 24th -31st December. Booked superior room, fantastic size and very quiet as it was on 1st floor on side street. Had requested bath rather than just shower and hotel had no problem granting request. Hotel staff friendly and quick) to resolve problems ( our centra heating broke down on two separate occasions and it was fixed within […] minutes). Hotel is in quiet and safe area with many cheap local trattoria. Easy to walk to main sights. Might be helpful if hotel was able to provide kettles in rooms and slightly warmer bed coverings for winter months. Holidaying over Xmas period in Italy usually means that hotels offer good discounts and the Mercure was no exception. The hotel offers an extensive buffet breakfast and a reasonably priced bar. Hotel is lovely we would stay there again staff are friendly and helpful. We were disapointed with the breakfast after reading 52 opinions of the hotel everyone spoke about the magnificent breakfast !!!! the coffee machine was broken the orange juice machine also. IF you enjoy cakes for breakfast well this is the ideal place a whole table full of them […] . The coffee out of a thermos flask was well URGH i couldnt drink it horrible . so we asked for cappucino that was ok. the staff didnt seem to be able to keep up with filling things up no glasses then no plates then no spoons then no egg then no bacon. PLUS palermo has at least 2 bakery shops in every street with wonderful types of bread rolls BUT in hotel bread wasnt that good at all we bought our own accross the road for breakfast. the room we were given had a lovely big balcony the windows were great when closed no noise which you need in palermio as the police and ambulances seem to have sirens going 24 hrs. Das Hotel ist sehr modern und sauber, auch wenn in den Zimmern bereits einige Abnutzungen erkennbar sind. Die Lage wirkt nicht sehr ertrauenserweckend. Allerdings gibt es in unmittelbarer Nähe sehr nette, preiswerte Restaurants wo auch viele Einheimisches essen.

Il 18 marzo dovevo recarmi ad una riunione di lavoro e ho preferito arrivare il giorno precedente e pernottare in questo Hotel. L'hotel si presenta molto bene, moderno e pulito e il personale è molto gentile.Devo però lasciare una nota di demerito imputabile alla scarsa flessibilità dimostrata. Avendo il volo alle 20, verso le ore 13 finita la riunione […] sono tornato in hotel ed ho chiesto di avere una camera sino alle 18. Mi è stato detto che non avevano camere matrimoniali come quella che avevo lasciato poche ore prima, e mi hanno proposto una camera singola ad un prezzo più alto. Ho accettato comunque ma una volta entrato in camera ho dovuto chiederne la sostituzione. La camera oltre ad essere di dimensioni minuscole era impregnata di un nauseabondo odere di fumo. Invece che darmi un'altra camera hanno cercato di convincermi a tenerla previa spruzzata di "assorbiodori". Alla fine mi hanno dato un'altra camera, con vista su muro esterno (...). Per curiosità ho controlloto la disponibilità delle camere tramite internet è ho avuto conferma della piena disponibilità ed a prezzi più bassi della tariffa applicatami. Credo non servano ulteriori commenti, da parte mia, nonostante l'hotel mi sia piaciuto, non ci metterò più piede e di certo non lo consiglierò ai miei conoscenti.... Read more
