The hotel was the perfect location for everything that I did that weekend. Close to downtown and my son college. The room was great for the price

"A great place to stay"
We found the Residence Inn Des Moines West though hotels.com and stayed there for almost a week. The hotel was very clean and service was excellent. Rooms were meticulously cleaned everyday and were roomy and comfortable with great air conditioning, clean bedding, and other amenities which one would need for an extended stay there. The hotel staff was […] very friendly and helpful. The location was great, a very short walking distance from multiple restaurants, stores and a mall. The location is also very close to Des Moines proper and Drake University. They also offered breakfast each day which was of a very high quality. Overall a comfortable and friendly setting. We were in town for just one night. I like staying at apartment style hotels and this one exceeded my expectations. Our room was very spacious. They give you complimentary tea bags and popcorn along with your coffee packets. Breakfast had a good variety with oatmeal, cereal, muffins, bagels, waffles, eggs, and more. Also I like the fact that you can have hotel staff do your grocery shopping in case you want to cook a meal but are not familiar with the area. Super nice convenience. I don't recommend buying much from the market(a small selection of snacky foods and soda) a little expensive. Our bed was comfy and extra pillows and blankets were in closet. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Mall is within walking distance, and restaurants nearby. Very safe neighborhood. Read more
"Res Inn west DES moines"
Great stay. Only eyebrow raising moment was housekeeping ran the dishwasher for an entire cycle for one glass. There was significant flooding in central Iowa so water conservation probably not an issue.
