"Hotel new Chastillion April 2014"
We went for a 3 day skiing break early April 2014. Flew into Nice, and had a taxi to the resort. The Hotel is in an excellent position right on the slopes but also easy access for cars at the southern end of the resort and plenty of parking, if needed. We arrrived at 14:30 and the reception does not open til 15:00 (you cannot even get into the hotel […] without a key code). Luckily some other guests were going in as we arrived and we were able to leave our cases in reception and go and get some lunch. Would have been difficult if we had had to wait outside with our cases. Hotel staff were friendly and we checked in quickly on our return at about 15:30 Our appartment was a 2 room appartment for 4 which was really spacious, well equipped and clean. 2 single beds in 1 room and comfortable large sofa bed in the lounge/ kitchen diner. Plus a huge bathroom. Tip: take cleaning stuff, cloth, washing up liquid etc, as you have to clean the appartment on leaving. We were due to take the bus back to Nice at 17:00 on the last day, but had to check out at 10am. However, Staff very helpful and we could leave our cases in a locked room and we could change after skiing and use hotel facilities until we left. Would definitely use the hotel again. "Great location, extremely satisfied with hotel"
After receiving bad feedback throughout 2013 the staff have turned the hotel around and we were really pleased with the hotel. Once you get through the very small reception area, the hotel opens up into a modern and clean hotel. Check in time is supposed to be at 5pm but the helpful staff were happy to check us in at 4pm. Our room was very spacious, […] clean, modern and well equipped. The bathroom was huge and the bath/shower very clean and acceptable. Kitchen area fine - take your own dishcloth, tea towel and washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets. The only downside was the beds were very hard and the pillows too feathery and flat so couldn't get comfortable. No noise disturbance. Definitely recommend this hotel. You can park your car outside and if you get the 750 Snow Bus from Nice Airport, the bus stop is a minute's walk from the hotel. Staff really helpful and they speak English. "Great location on the piste."
The location of this hotel is fantastic. My only complaint is that we were a party of 2 people, father & son on a weekend ski break. The room had a sofa bed that we would have had to share! My son's face said it all...there was no way!! So, we put the sofa cushions on the floor to set up a second bed but, there was only one duvet....we asked the hotel […] reception if we could have another duvet or a spare blanket....they would not provide it!!! "Excellent location-poor management!"
We arrived at 12:05 to find the front door locked. We waited in the snow for 20mins untill a guest came and entered the pin code to open the door and let us in. Then we discovered the reception is closed daily between 12-3pm so we had to occupy ourselves for 3hrs! We paid a lot to stay for 4 nights but when we asked for clean towels was told there was […] an extra charge! The room was not cleaned once during our stay. The pool & jacuzzi were cold! Breakfast isn't included & there is a €300 deposit on arrival. We had to convert/make the sofa bed on arrival (why there's a sofa bed & not just a bed I don't know)! "Smart but not functional"
Too much ikea furniture in this hotel. It looks very contemporary but the sofa beds are pretty basic and all those trendy hard surfaces mean that the noise from the court yard breakfast area echos up through the hotel from first thing in the morning. It's good value and there isn't that much competition in isola. I was surprised to be asked to strip […] the bed and do the washing up in order to get my deposit back but apparently that's normal for a "residence" rather than a hotel. "lovely new rooms"
we were very pleased with the location as no long trek to the slopes! The rooms were lovely and new and fitted with everything you need including hairdryer in the bathroom. The guy on reception was nice and helpful and the staff had no problem with providing us with a few extras like a mop, extra toilet roll and a bottle opener when we asked. we were […] on the ground level which meant we could climb over the wall to ski straight to and from our room which was a plus! we didn't pre-book the breakfast but on the last morning decided to have it and so just paid at reception and helped ourselves which was great. The only negative was the swimming pool was a bit too cold, although we did still go in a couple of times. I did not expect much since most reviews on hotels in Isola 200 were not so great. I met friends who stayed at Le Pas du Loup and this was a true nightmare. Bad smell, terrible service and so on. Chastillion was very good. Excellent breakfast although it is not cheap. 15Euro/p. NIce to have a pool and a sauna. Very French though.. no place to change […] clothes and no showers. In light of all other terrible hotels in Isola 2000 I would highly recommend this hotel! The bathroom is very nice, well functioning Wifi without hazzle to login every now and then and a good TV-set with a lot of channels. I stayed there with my youngest daughter. Nous sommes arrivés le vendredi un peu avant 20h, nous avons essayez de les blindées car on ne trouvait pas la route, personnes ne répond il ne s'embête pas. Ensuite arrives à l'hôtel la réceptionniste aimable comme une porte de prison, elle arrêtait pas de regarder sa montre. Aucun sourire et pas très polie. Puis nous avons eu notre studio qui était […] sale, obliger de faire le ménage à l'intérieur. Le canapé lit date il n'est pas confortable du tout! La piscine n'est pas à 28 degrés on a froid lorsqu'on sort des pistes! Le jaccuzi n'est pas entretenue il y a des traces marrons dedans... Tout est payant le sauna 10 euros les 30 min et si on veut changer les serviettes il faut payer 10 euro par personnes ou alors aller les laver soi même à la laverie! Pobyt w Isola 2000 był - jak zawsze - fantastyczny. Pobyt w hotelu marny. W pokoju znajdowały się piętrowe, wąskie łóżka. Pościel nie była obleczona, a jej użycie bardzo niewygodne. Źle działało ogrzewanie. Absurdalne wymagania przy opuszczaniu hotelu: umyć podłogę, opróżnić i rozmrozić lodówkę, wymyć zmywarkę, umyć łazienkę z wanną i umywalką, wynieść […] śmiecie itd. Comment cette résidence peut avoir 4 étoiles? Réception ouverte que qq heures par jour. Arrivées à partir de 17h (très pratique quand on vient qq jours pour skier). 1 seule personne, débordée, à cette réception d'où des files d'attente très importantes. Aucun kit (gel douche/shampoing; liquide vaisselle ou sac poubelle...). Très mauvaise insonorisation. […] Plus de croissant ni de pain au chocolat au petit déjeuner à 9h (à 13€ le petit dej'!) Check in was not until 5pm which is ridiculous as the whole guests all come to check in at the same time! we arrived at 11am and asked if there was any chance of our room being ready earlier as I had a broken foot and we were told no! no attempt was made to ask the cleaners to clean ours first as we were already there, even after we checked in and went to our room at 5pm the room still had cleaners in! I am disgusted with the lack of customer service and hospitality! The room was also dirty and we had to clean it when we entered, be aware that the apartments are not cleaned with any disinfectant unless you buy it yourself, which by the way you will have difficulty as the supermarket shuts for hours in the middle of the day!! The bed sheets didn't fit the duvets and they were cheap and nasty, as we're the towels! The building work hadn't been completed in the rooms and looked shabby with insides of cupboards not even painted and just messy in general. The pool was cold and tiny, as was the jacuzzi which could only fit 3/4 people at a squeeze, the sauna you had to book in advance! Honestly this place is just terrible! The only good thing is it is right on the piste, I guess that's what you pay for so they think nothing else matters. I just can't understand why you would spend money to refurb the place and not have it finished to perfect, including get some staff that understand hospitality! I live 2 hours from isola at the moment so for a weekend it is bearable but if I had come for a weeks holiday from further away I would be very very upset! To call it 4 star is a lie! It is defiantly not 4 star!

After reading the terrible reviews for this hotel, we decided to give it a go as we wanted an apartment with our own kitchen on the slopes rather than a hotel room. We were extremely pleased with our choice. Check-in is supposed to be from 5pm but we managed to check in at 4pm. Our one-bedroom apartment was spacious, clean, modern and well equipped. The bathroom was spacious with a lovely bath and shower (toiletries supplied). Kitchen was well stocked with equipment plus fridge, toaster, kettle, hob and microwave. Very clean and easy to use. Definitely recommend taking a tea towel, dishcloth and a couple of dishwasher tabs if you can. Heating was easy to use and very quiet hotel, didn't hear any other guests outside or next door to us. The only noise we heard was on Saturday night between 1-4am when the bars were closing and people were on their way home!! You have to clean your apartment on the day that you check out and there is a list of 'jobs' you need to complete and take downstairs with you. Not too exhaustive and we wasn't aware of this so be prepared! Fresh croissants on the desk when you go out of a morning and on your return which is a nice touch. No bar which is a shame and we didn't get to see the pool so can't review on that. However, the hotel staff are aware of the bad reviews they were getting in 2013 and have upped their game and trying really hard to turn things around. The only downside I would say about the hotel are that the beds (not sofa bed) are really hard and the pillows are too feathery and not good! Struggled with the pillows and recommend taking your own!!! General helpful feedback Skimium ski and equipment hire very close to the hotel, gave us discounted rates for their ski hire and you can walk out of their shop and onto the piste. They were very helpful and helped my sister and I each day put our boots on (we are not old either!). You can store your books and skis at their shop each day too if you wish. We took the ski bus to Isola 2000 from Nice Airport and at 4 Euros each way, you really can't beat that. The bus line is number 750 on the Snow Bus. It runs about 3 times a day from Nice Airport. The supermarket is great. We had to walk to the far end one but they supply everything that you will need for your apartment. Great trip. Being quite a fusspot with accommodation whether I travel with my husband and children or with family, I like 4 or 5 star accommodation. I would definitely return to the Chastillon but perhaps take my own pillows!!

Arrived Friday night and leaving Sunday morning: good weekend. The room was at first level. Pretty quiet, not too much noise coming from inside or outside the apartment. Nice architectural building and friendly staff. Since it is not really an hotel you have to bring dish soap, sponge, trash bag or you can buy one 8 euros at reception.

Having read the reviews for this hotel, we were not expecting much. However, we were more than pleasantly surprised. We booked a studio apartment which was spotlessly clean, warm & well equipped. We managed to check in at 4pm & the staff were very helpful. Perfect location for the slopes, we will definitely stay here again.

Currently staying in this revamped hotel. Best described as a prison in appearance. No ski in and out but have to walk down steep steps. No bar or restaurant as before and all the walls are painted gray. The heart and soul have been taken way from this place. No more log fire in restaurant. The only positive thing to say is that there is FREE wifi throughout. Swimming pool is cold and you have to pay extra if you want another towel. Wasn't our first choice this time cos other hotel was fully booked. What dies that say.
After a long day of skiing, all we wanted to do was check in, shower, and rest. Unfortunately, there was only one poor overwhelmed reception attendant, who spent about 30mins on the phone trying to sort out an internet problem, before even attempting to address the long line of people who, like ourselves, we're desperate to check in. Upon finally being allocated a room (and charged a 300 Euro deposit for the privilege), we arrived to a room that hadn't been cleaned after the last occupants left it, and was filled with dirty linen and towels, a rather filthy bathroom and floor, and some used cotton wool buds languishing on one of the armchairs!!! We were given another room, which was thankfully clean, but which had no working internet - something promised prior to reservation. Breakfast was fine, apart from the barely defrosted 'omelettes'! We found this place fairly nasty, a general impression not justified by the fairly expensive price. Avoid if you can.

Booking this hotel ruined me SKI weekend. I had booked to hotel on the day of arrival as had the group I was going with. As my friends were due to arrive before me I asked them to collect my key as I know there not 24hr reception (slightly annoying in itself) Upon arrival my friends asked for my Key and were told by a very blunt receptionist there was no reservation for myself. I called the hotel who told me there was no reservation, I emailed them my booking confirmation and they still said no, and that they were waiting to leave for the evening i should book somewhere else. I asked if I would be charged and they said NO. I had book another hotel away from my friends and at more expense as it was last minute. I later found I was charged and contacted the hotel who rudely informed me I was subject to full cancellation charges as I was a NO SHOW. I have since emailed several times and they have no chosen to ignore my emails all together. AWFUL
To start, check-in is only from 5pm, check-out is 10am. When we arrived there all we wanted to do was have a place to put our gear for the day until we were allowed to check in that evening. We were told by the front desk that they cannot help us with no advice offered on where we could leave our things for the day. When the time came to finally check in, there were 2 people behind a desk to help about 30 people trying to check in. It was chaos. It seemed that no-one knew what they were doing. When our time came they lost our reservation, when I showed proof they found it on the system and asked me to pay. I told them that I had already been charged by the hotel for my reservation. I had to wait until they tried to figure out what was going on. After being given the wrong directions to our room, we eventually arrived to find the apartment dirty & with no sheets or towels. I walked down to the lobby, had to wait in line again to ask about the sheets & towels, only to be given more directions to find a man somewhere in the hotel that could give me what I needed. No help offered whatsoever. If you are looking for a place to stay in Isola which will make you feel slightly at home or where some friendly help is available, this is not the place to go. They should rename this hotel to Shambles!

Studio très agréable, tant par la qualité et le confort de l'hébergement, tant par l’accueil chaleureux du personnel et de sa disponibilité. Piscine très sympa. Proche toutes commodités shopping et activités extérieures. Bon séjour et bons souvenirs.
