"Lovely stay in Grand Haven"
Comfortable spacious room, gracious hosts, lots of good tips on local restaurants and sightseeing. Just what you hope for from a good B&B.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming with a little bump or two."
Boyden House is lovely surrounded by glorious gardens. We managed to get the last room available. It was very hot and humid that day and the a/c worked but not to the extent I prefer. Another small bump was the floor was level as often happens in old houses. Most people wouldn't notice but I have balance issues. the front staircase is a beautiful curved […] wood with very narrow steps. Able footed people enough! As we were taking the ferry the next morning we missed out on the breakfast with other guests. Instead our breakfast was brought to the guest kitchen. A little re-heating and we were set with a very nice meal. Bottom line, we will return planning far enough ahead to have a choice of rooms and allow enough time to share the breakfast, the porch and the town. BTW lovely dinner at the Kirby Grill within walking distance. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful B&B - a cut above!"
The inn is beautifully restored, and also fully equipped with modern conveniences. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the owners were helpful and nice people. In a quiet neighborhood, a nice walk to tiwn or the beach. It was perfect!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Loved the Boyden house "

Excellent place to stay when visiting Grand Haven. The house is beautiful with a historic yet comfortable feel. We wanted a relaxing and non traditional Thanksgiving but still wanted to feel at home. The Boyden house was perfect. Our room (the safari den) was cozy and spacious with huge windows providing a picturesque view of the lightly falling snow. Shelly was awesome. She was friendly and nice to talk with. AND she is an amazing cook! Breakfast was delicious. We will definitely visit again.
The room was cozy and clean. Loved the large jacuzzi tub in bathroom of the Honeymoon Suite. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious! The house and grounds were well-kept and lovely. Thanks for a great stay!
"A Very Nice B&B"

We recently enjoyed our second stay at this beautiful old home located in a very nice residential area of this great town. All the rooms in this B&B are very nicely appointed. We have stayed in the Love Nest and most recently in Amber's room. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean as was the entire house. The bed was very comfortable.....which is not always the case in older homes. The owner and manager were very friendly and take a lot of pride in making your stay wonderful. The two breakfasts we had there were fantastic! We also liked the small spare kitchen upstairs where you can make coffee in the morning while you are waiting for breakfast. This is especially nice if you are an early riser like we are. This kitchen also is stocked with microwave popcorn and Klondike bars (Yes!!) if you need a night time snack. The Boyden House Inn is a great option if you are looking for a place to stay in GH and the quaint downtown area is within walking distance.
Breakfast was delicious, croissant French toast, sausage, the best baked oatmeal with berries. VERY friendly. Clean and Beautiful woodwork! Parking on the premises. Walk downtown, to river & lake! Stay @ B&B's often; this is a true value!
"Beautiful and spacious B&B"

This charming B&B is located in a beautiful town, on a lovely street and with exceptional hospitality. The room was spacious and elegant and the wine soufflé for breakfast was certainly memorable! Even though we only spent one night, our memory of the sunset while enjoying the boardwalk, and the walk through the neighborhood and downtown, will not be forgotten.

My husband and I have been in Grand Haven many times. We had a wonderful time at the Boyden House. The woodwork and architectural detail were stunning. We stayed in the executive suite. It was a large, clean and cozy room with a fireplace and a chaise lounge. Being a neat freak, the room was clean as a whistle. The breakfasts and the baked oatmeal were delicious. Several items to choose from. The gentleman innkeeper was very polite and friendly without being intrusive. I would highly recommend this establishment.
"Not customer service oriented"

Nice old home in a nice location. The staff seem to run the Inn to their convenience and not the guests. There is nobody to meet you at check-in; breakfast is offered ONLY 9 - 9:30 and (Breakfast is really just average).

I thought this place was perfect. I am super picky and have high expectations, but Boyden House was better than expected in a lot of ways. Location is super, we were upgraded to a bigger room once we arrived for no extra charge (they were not fully booked), everything about the room and the house itself was charming. Clean, free wifi, friendly but not intrusive hosts, and plenty of free parking. Wish we could've stayed longer. The breakfast was amazing - hot souffles and excellent (strong) coffee. We walked to dinner at the Grand and back and down to the water. I stayed the following night in the Harbor House Inn (long story as to why, but it gave me the opportunity to do a direct comparison). The HHI pales by comparison and was really disappointing. Stay at the Boyden House. You'll want to return and stay even longer. I do.

I traveled a lot this summer and stayed in various B&Bs in Michigan. Boyden House was definitely the best. The owners were extremely helpful and welcoming. Our room was very comfortable and beautiful. Breakfasts were delicious and healthy; the oatmeal was my favorite! The inn is conveniently located, close to the downtown and the bike path that goes to Holland. It is well worth the price!
"Comfortable relaxation in venerable mansion"

We were visiting Grand Haven for a large wedding and booked the rooms over the carriage house, a suite, really. Large comfortable rooms and a nice mix of antique and modern furnishings and art. Others in the party stayed in the main house, and everyone seemed to be very happy. Finally, everyone who stays should try Mr. Tony's breakfast. Baked french toast and a wonderful baked oats dish were offered (along with great coffee and huge bowl of fresh fruit). It was not inexpensive but well worth the cost. We will definitely stay here again.
