Just stayed for one night as we started our trip a day earlier than planned and our resort had no availability. I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful this resort is - tucked between the Riu Palace and Villa del Palmar. The staff was so friendly upon arrival. We had a slight issue that our reservation had not transmitted from Hotels.com, but they […] got it straightened out. Though we waited, it was still well before official check-in and they were assuring us all along they would get it worked out. After being assigned a room, we discovered we were given a different type room than what we thought we paid for. We called the front desk to inquire, and they moved us to the unit configuration we had purchased on-line. it was much nicer, so good thing we said something. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that it was just a mistake. Whatever the case, the rooms were nice and the property grounds were lovely. We never got to swim, but the infinity pool looked nice, albeit pretty cold water.. While waiting for our room, we tried out the casual restaurant in the pool area. It was average food and pricey (and no options for vegetarians) but the more formal restaurant looked very nice. . We did not have any type of ocean view, nor expected one for what we paid.. regardless, the view was lush and tropical. I would recommend this resort, particularly if you are on a tighter budget and enjoy smaller resorts. Read more

We enjoyed the hotel (a ll inclusive) so much, we are going to take our entire family back. The restruant had a good selection of food. The grill around the pool had good food but a little heavy at times. You will need to do both the grill and restruant to have a good balance of food. We were on a family trip with 2 tweens. We had a blast....the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The infinity pool is wonderful. Right on the beach. Beautiful scenery. Not as many activities as we expected....but the ones they had were made fun by two of their activities staff (Carla and Lucio). We would stay here again.

I went there for 8 days with my husband for our babymoon and the hotel is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!The infinite pool has the perfect temperature,the amenities were clean and beautiful.It has an intimate feeling.We had the all-inclusive package and the food was very good, there was a different menu for every meal,very good sushi bar, the spa is beautiful […] and the employees make the place feel like you’re among friends.They’re the best! They even gave us and upgrade to an awesome master room.I definitely RECOMMEND this hotel! And if you have any problem they will be on your side and do anything to make it up to you. The cons: even though we were in the all-inclusive package we received a regular bill for everything we ordered.Of course we didn’t have to pay for anything, just sign it, but still you feel like you have to tip the server like anywhere else. It was the first time we had an all-inclusive package so I really don’t know how other resorts work with this but we think it was a bit inconvenient.Another thing is that there was a wedding at the hotel during the weekend.The wedding was on the beach and they played loud music until like 3am….since our room was in front of the beach that was really annoying and we complained.Omar, the general manager, was very understanding and apologized and to make it up to us he even gave us a 50min couple’s massage at the spa and a late check-out. Beautiful Hotel, not too big, not too small, quite confortable and pefrect for a romantic getaway. Awesome ocean/beach view above palm trees from room balcony, pool is great too. I didn't realize when I booked the room that a "deluxe" room meant no balcony and no view. We changed rooms as soon as a "junior suite" became available so that we could relax on the balcony and enjoy the ocean view. The hotel was extremely crowded in the pool area. I will go back to this place soon, I was a little worried before I got there because of some Bad reviews but I dont think those people stayed at the same hotel I did, All the staff was very nice and went out of their way to do anything we wanted.. the hotel and beach are clean and maintained everyday, yes the beds are a little hard, but everything else […] made up for that!!! The only thing I could recommend to the Hotel is to have more entertainment?? the Hotels on both sides of us seemed to always have activities (night time) and our Hotel didn't, they had vollyball and aqua arobics during the day but not much for evening stuff.. The staff at the hotel was excellent, they made us feel at home. The bed was hard and that's typical in Mexico. The pool was cold, the hot tub was out of service. Only 2 restaurant was open with a limited menu and high prices.

The hotel and resort used to be nice but the owners have not upgraded in a long time and several things showed signs of wear such as the rooms, decor, walls, floors, roof. We love this hotel and have stayed here 3 times before when it was the Playa del Sol Grand. The grounds and facilities are beautiful and well kept, and the staff are awesome. We love the quiet and peaceful atmosphere and the infinity pool and the lovely beach steps away. However, since the new ownership, the food quality has deteriorated. The guacamole […] has always been our favorite, but this time we stopped ordering it as it isn't freshly made and is very disappointing, along with the quality of the rest of the food. We did enjoy the buffet breakfasts, especially the freshly made omelettes and the fruit. The juices however also were disappointing and tasted watered down. We did not use the all inclusive package as we prefer to walk into near by Bucerias and eat at the various restaurants for lunch dinner. This was just as well due to the poor quality of the food on the resort. If this hotel can get the food quality where it belongs, I will give it a wholehearted endorsement. Read more

Beautiful place, very clean, and very comfortable. Staff was helpful and spoke English very well. They were willing to look after any inquiries that we had. The beach was clean and the water was fun, there wasn't any pressure to buy the vendors goods. We did avoid the free breakfast which involved a sales pitch re: timeshares. The food was very good, […] with a small menu which was good for us, as too many choices makes it too hard to choose. We did try the buffet and it also was very well done. The pool area was clean and inviting, nice place to read and spend relaxing hours. We noticed that it was inviting for children as well as seniors. Really loved the infinity pool. The activities that were offered within the hotel were presented well and again no pressure to join in, totally your own choice. We absolutely loved Hotel la Quinta del Sol. Rami and Larissa are beyond chill and give personal, genuine hospitality that makes this place so special. Rooms are very spacious, clean, comfy and decorated with local art. Kitchens are furnished with everything you could need or want. El hotel/resort esta precioso! Sus instalaciones son muy atractivas e invitan a la relajacion. Solo hace falta que por un lado, se ponga mas atencion a la llimpieza del cuarto. Nosotros eramos 4 adultos, 3 mujeres de pelo largo. Al llegar, pedi mas toallas pues las 3 que habia no nos alcanzaban. Al dia siguiente, solo tendieron las camas. Nos dejaron […] nuevamente con 3 toallas, no dejaron acondicionador del pelo ni jabon. El bano no se limipio tampoco - en la banera estaba todo tal como lo habiamos dejado, incluyendo el papel de un jabon que usamos..... El segundo dia ocurrio lo mismo y en esta ocasion si hable a recepcion para quejarme.....se limitaron a enviarme lo que no me habian dejado..... Tambien el sofa cama olia bastante mal - olia a humedad, por lo que les recomendaria le pongan algun desodorante al irse cada huesped...... La comida del restaurant tambien dejo mucho que desear. El pastel azteca que pedi no tenia todos los ingredientes que decia su descripcion y la racion fue extremadamente pequena para el precio.
