"Best bed ever!"
07/28/14 Martha B
We stayed just one night, on our way through Maine to our coastal summer cabin. This little B and B is owned by a larger inn down the road, the Arundel inn, where we has a sumptuous breakfast. Our room was spacious, and the bed was just perfect-- firm but not hard. Enjoyed a free cocktail and a game of billiards, too!
"Poor WiFi Connection"

When connecting via mobile phone or tablets. My phone got connected for awhile and gets disconnected even though there is enough signal from the router. I suggest that they should have the router fixed or checked. It was a great place indeed. Quiet and tranquil. Food was so-so. The rooms were great though.

Old Fort Inn is a gem in Kennebunkport! We received a complimentary upgrade to the suite. This was wonderful. It was great enjoying the views from Cape Arundel Inn. Loved the happy hour on the porch and the great breakfasts at Ocean Restaurant. We didn't receive champagne upon arrival as others guests wrote about. Also, the website states a butler's pantry and wine tastings on Mondays at Old Fort but we never saw this. When I asked the receptionist about the pantry, she had no idea what I was talking about. There seems to be a lack of communication between what is stated on the website and what is said to the staff. These were only minor disappointments but felt they should be mentioned. We had a fantastic time and plan to return again soon!
"That MAINE thing to do"

Cape Arundel/Old Fort Inn was absolutely amazing. I cherished every second. Sitting on the porch having a glass of wine in the evening, enjoying the heated pool over noon and the beautiful views of the ocean. The hotel was quaint and quiet. The staff was helpful and very attentive. If we weren't coming back with kids next, we would be here at Cape Arundel. Thank you for taking the stress away.
"Perfect for us"

All was cozy and friendly. Stayed in the gate house in a small but nice and comfortable room. Nice breakfast and perfect location. Be prepared to climb stairs with you suitcases if you book late like we did. Oh well, we needed the exercise anyway!
"No room at the Inn ....."

We were booked to stay at this property as part of a 3 week tour of New England. On arrival the initial welcome was warm and the lounge looked cosy and inviting. Sadly this was all we got to see!! Despite having paperwork confirming our booking and having paid through “Maine City Tours” we got to see!! Via a Booking Agent in the UK, we were told they had no record of any booking, they were full and no room for us!!. They instead moved to a self catering cottage owned by the same company. This was OK, but not what we had booked for or paid for but had little choice. If you are planning a stay here ….. check your booking - who ever is at fault!!! For obvious reasons our rating is based on what we saw and how we were treated not the quality of the rooms!

My daughter, daughter-in-law, and I stayed for one night at the lodge and couldn't have been more pleased! We were greeted by Barbara who was so kind and helpful and told us to make ourselves at home. We had the entire first floor to ourselves, which included a warm fire in the fireplace and cozy seating. As we had stopped at the County line liquor stores (a great place to buy your adult beverages!), we had some relaxing glasses of wine in front of the fire and played some board games that the inn supplied. Our room upstairs included a sitting area with a fireplace, a king size bed in one room and twin beds in another, and a large bathroom. Upon leaving, Eric was kind enough to take a picture of all of us in front of the inn and presented us with a small going away gift. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!
"great weekend getaway"

My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights last weekend at the old fort inn. Neither of us had been to Kennebunkport and wanted a relaxing, quiet weekend with a few things to do. Old fort inn was great for this. We stayed in the king grand room. The room was spacey, immaculately clean, and had a nice mix of modern and rustic decor. We had a gas fireplace in the room which was really nice. The breakfast in the morning was a continental breakfast with one hot item, such as egg and sausage souffle. Totally adequate. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. They had free bikes available and we used them 2 days....they were a great way to visit the beach and get around Kennebunkport. My only 2 criticisms were that (1) they should have told us the heated pool would be closed for the season, and (2) we arrived there in late afternoon (5:30pm) and it would have been nice to have a little snack or drink upon arrival
"Bed great Breakfast awful"

What a lovely place - nice rooms - pleasant people all was really fine and then came the breakfast. Cheerios, cornflakes, plastic bread, old fruit. Really very poor and not at all the quality one would expect of such an elegant and beautiful place. If they get this detail worked out I would go back'
"A nice Inn."

It is in the heart of Kennebunk and convenient to all the sights. The room was lovely and the grounds lovely. I liked it but I got a great deal so otherwise I don't think I could afford too many nights there...
