"Mansion at Judges Hill (not so much!!)"
I would not recommend this hotel. I stayed there on 02/15/2016 to 02/16/2013 for a Romantic gateway to Austin. Hotel: Mansion at Judges Hill Room: Classic Queen North Wing Non-smoking/Smoking: Non-Smoking Room type: 1 QUEEN BED The room was way too mall!! For the Price, I could have stayed at the Hilton with a bigger and better room. It was not "in […] Downtown" Austin, it's about 15-20 min. The hotel it's old and smells funny. There's not a lot of parking! I had to park my car at a secluded area until they had open spaces. I was charged $15.00 for parking. It definitely doesnt look like the pictures at all. They are conduction construction in the area. The staff was nice, nothing to write about. Just good! The room was clean and bed was comfy. Definitely not worth the price at all!! and I didnt get it from Groupon. I actually paid full price. Dont waste your money! unless you have plenty. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Room was exceptional, on a par with the Driscoll in Austin orChateau Bourbon in New Orleans. A beautiful, quiet facility, friendly staff and quite accommodating-- no pun intended! Rooms were spacious, very comfortable beds, honor bar well appointed, wifi free, restaurant and bar on site. We had a very romantic evening and plan to use this hotel in the […] future. "Great hotel, terrible parking"
Great hotel overall. Paying $15/day to park in a tiny garage was a bit ridiculous. Excellent otherwise.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel not the best location"
Only downside of this hotel is the location. The neighbor hood looks a little rough, maybe it was the vacant house across from the parking garage that is covered with graffiti. I don't know, but it wasn't something that you see and say to yourself....boy that makes me feel good. The cookies at check in...the fact that I am mentioning cookies in this […] review should indicate that they were significant. They were great, make a pig of yourself and try all of them. Would I stay here again, yes but it really isn't my first choice. Overall it is a beautiful hotel and the rooms were first class. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good but had to change rooms"
I liked the hotel overall and would stay there again. I did have a problem with noise and had to change rooms at 11:30pm. Something intside the hotel, the HVAC units I would guess, were producing a low pitched noise/vibration that made the pictures in the room rattle against the walls and kept me awake - I don't think anyone sober could have slept through […] it. They gave me a new room right away when I asked but it still made me grouchy to have to gather all of my stuff and move after I had gone to bed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"It really is a mansion!"
Beautiful hotel, lovely room, friendly and attentive staff, and location, too. I look forward to the opportunity to stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location, Great Staff"
The place was great, clean, nice staff, eager to please! My only complaint was that the a/c was not ideal and it took some time to cool the room down. Other than that, GREAT STAY.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Almost a 10"
Excellent! Only "complaint" was room service dinner menu. Way too heavy and one should always be able to get an omelet, burger or entree salad stuff from lunch...refused to give me a side of veggies! Quite silly, don't you think? Love the staff!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very NOISY, UGLY VIEW from room, OKAY location"
- OKAY Location: This hotel is fairly close to the Capitol and the University; however I found it to be a little far from 6th street or South Congress District. - OVERPRICED: I think some “cheaper” hotels look a lot nicer than "Mansion at Judges Hill"! Maybe the good reviews come from people staying here for a wedding? The restaurant (the actual “mansion”) […] is a good looking structure for pictures and such. - NOISY: If you are planning a vacation to relax: STAY AWAY (especially if there is a wedding party staying). We had people across the hallway from us partying all night, shouting on the hallways, etc. Plus, you can hear people constantly coming up and down the stairs, flushing the toilet, yelling, etc. - DISTURBING VIEW: When my husband and I first arrived and looked out the window we were shocked by the UGLY VIEW (sneakers hanging from cables, multiple trash bags on the floor, graffiti, etc). I do not recommend this hotel, especially considering the price. Hope this helps. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"over-rated, over-priced disappointment"
On-line photos are great and expectations ran high. I booked on a Wednesday, the day to cancel was Friday, and they lowered the price by $60 on Sunday. Too late for me to benefit. I felt taken advantage of before I even checked-in. We were put in a "wing" which apparently means not the house or mansion. Our room was a very typical (albeit overpriced) […] hotel room with a view of a concrete and cedal plank fence literally 6 feet beyond the window. Parking was $15 for a small, tight garage and no valet. There were absolutely no amenties one would reasonably expect looking at the photos and paying the price. 2 chocolate cookies at turn-down and a newspaper in the morning. All-in-all, very disappointing. Perhaps a mansion room would live up to expectations. I would advise saving money and booking a hotel with a lot more for a lot less money. Very nice rooms. Hotel lobby is a little hard to find due to so many one-way streets in Austin. Enjoyed it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Greta hotle for a downtown Austin get away."
Staff was very accomodating and friendly. Bar and Dining Room very nice...food was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Mansion at Judges Hill"
Value for price received was unacceptable. I booked a 'north courtyard view king' and was put in a first floor room with a view of the alley and ghetto apartments next door complete with a graffiti-covered no parking sign. Problems with HBO persisted during our stay despite having reported it to the front desk. Staff was friendly and attentive othe […] rwise. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Unbelievable room service menu"
We arrived late in the evening and had not stopped on the way to have dinner. We ordered room service and to our surprise, unlike most hotel room service, the menu was unbelievable, not your typical salad and sandwich menu usually offered. Our order arrived in less than 10 minutes and the food was some of the best I have ever had, even from gourmet […] restaurants. We will definitely return. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Formula 1 Weekend"
I thought the room was very overpriced for it's size and amenities. I do not think we actually got the room we booked. It was a very noisy hotel and had very little peace and quiet while trying to rest and relax. You could hear all of the conversations in the hall while trying to rest.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Fabulous stay and we will defnitely be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Almost Really Good"
Interesting old mansion converted to a hotel. Pretty well done but not great. Located away from the fun part of town and not quite worth the price but a good place to stay overall. Good but not great food in the little restaurant, nice people and some real charm but strange incongruities such as the dirt parking lot next door, hotel located right on […] a busy main street and not within walking distance of the things most want to do and see in Austin. "Romance Still Lives...But Leave Home The Kids!"
A lovely place for a romantic getaway if you like charming hotels. Definitely not your run-of-the-mill sterile cookie cutter hotel room. We upgraded to a suite in the Historic portion of the Mansion. The staff was very warm and helpful, the food in the restaurant superb. A little off the beaten path as far as nightlife goes, but no place downtown was […] more than an $ 8 taxi ride. Very comfortable and it was very kind of the hotel to automatically upgrade us to a bigger suite just because it was available! However, there is a $15 parking fee for some reason. The front office let me know this as soon as I checked out instead of before or right when I checked in. I don't like mysterious charges or fees. I've had to continually […] check my credit card to ensure there are not any other mysterious fees. Because I felt cheated, (also w/ no apology for misunderstanding), I will not stay here next time I'm in Austin. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historic boutique hotel"
I was upgraded to the signature suite and was excited about staying in the original wing of the mansion. Bathroom was fully restored and beautiful! My favorite part were the patio doors that opened up onto a shared balcony which was perfect for pictures. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in town.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice property close to UT campus. Our room was spacious with a nice view of the courtyard from second floor. Would certaintly stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review

It was awesome. We were upgraded to the main mainsion. The service was great, the restaurant was average but the environment was wonderfulGenuine Expedia guest review
I was in town for several days for a convention down town, and booked late so couldnt be near the convention center. However, the Mansion was a very pleasant 45 minute walk from the convention center and I looked forward to it after spending the whole day inside. Staff was friendly and accommodating, room was nice and clean, and the free Supershuttle […] from the airport was a really nice feature. Overall, I would definitely stay here again for the conference next year. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Judges Mansion"
This hotel is was wonderful. The staff was accomadating. The only draw back is that it is a couple miles from the downtown area where we needed to be and they didn't offer any transpertation service so we had to take a cab back and forth to the convention center and the night life activities.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great spot look forward to staying there next time I am in AustinGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"First Time Guest, Will Be Back"
Very impressed with The Mansion, I grew up in Austin and when I come back to visit it's always nice to stay somewhere close to downtown. The Mansion provides the convenience and comfort anyone should expect to have when visiting Austin for friend and family. I will certainly be booking rooms here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mansion @ UT review"
Extremely satisfied. Very comfortable and close to campus activities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Mansion at Judge's Hill was the perfect boutique hotel choice for us! We were only looking for somewhere to stay one night so we could go into Austin after having camped at Reimer's Ranch but before we went home to Houston. This hotel is awesome! We were offered 2 complimentary drinks in the hotels restaurant at check-in. The bed is super comfy! […] The room is really nice and huge! The mini bar was really well stocked with choices for purchase. The bathroom was stocked with towels, and I loved the verbena shampoo and conditioner. We were close to the Austin Metro (don't remember if that's what its called there), so that made it easy to just ride into town without having to park. We ended up walking back from 6th street so we got to see the area a bit. All in all, when we go back to Austin, this will be our hotel of choice! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Only stayed one night and didn't even see the restaurant or any of the amenities, although the restaurant looks like its probably really nice. Hotel almost has a bed and breakfast feel to it--very old and historic. Its within walking distance of the UT campus and in central Austin. It was only about $40 more than staying on the other side of I-35 from […] campus in a hotel that would undoubtedly would not have been as nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not what it's cracked up to be"
The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of the University of Texas and sites downtown. However, the hotel itself was sub-par. Upon arriving at the hotel we had difficulty finding parking in the designated one-entrance/exit parking garage. We were not greeted with friendly service upon check in and were not clearly directed to our […] rooms which were located in a detached building. Once in our small room, we could CLEARLY hear the conversation and activities of our neighbors. The A/C did not keep up with the requested room temperature of 72 degrees. To top it off, when we returned from our Saturday afternoon outings, we were locked out of our room because the keys had not been properly programmed the night before. We will NOT return to this venue. How it received four stars is a mystery. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quiet Oasis in the midst Austin"
Loved the Mansion on Judge's Hill. We would love to stay here again. Only complaint is the charge for parking- I know is may be standard in a lot of places, but I feel ike that is a service your hotel should provide for free- it makes a difference to me when deciding where to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for a weekend getaway!"
Our stay at the Mansion was great. We only ate breakfast there (1 room service and 1 in the restaurant)...both were great. The room was great and the bed and pillows were very, very comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"It is the details that matter"
I always love staying at the Mansion. The rooms are clean, comfortable and suprisingly quiet for the edge of West Campus. The extra pillows, robes, beside glasses, fully stocked fridge/bar and now my favorite detail...the sanitized TV remote. Thanks for two great nights of sleep and rest.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is wonderful. They weren't very busy so they upgraded me to a suite. It was quiet and comfortable. This is a great location if you are visiting your children at UT.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
