"Best Beach!!!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 19, 2012
We enjoyed our stay at the Intecontinental Presidente Cancun Resort - the employees were very friendly & accommodating, the food was good (although a bit pricey) and the beach was awesome!!! The only complaint I would have is the charge for Wi-Fi........this service is generally provided free of charge at most hotels however not at this one. You have to pay an hourly or daily rate. They do have an internet cafe free of charge however that is not very convenient if you want to work on your own laptop or IPad from the convenience of your room.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The atmosphere was great and the staff very competent and friendly. The staff were most accommodating and gave me good information on the area for shopping and gambline and restaurants. The whole experience was very good and I will return if I am in Can Cun again next year and will highly recommend this hotel to my friends.

"Decent Hotel for Family"
We stayed 10 days at GR Solaris and it was a pleasant experience. The pool is not big but was decent size and the entertainment team was OK. Food was bearable at the buffets, but very good at the a la carte restaurant (which you have to book everyday). The night shows were fun for the kids. The location is fine (not so close to downtown) and the room […] was well cleaned. We are a family of 4 and enjoyed our time there. Read more
"Good hotel for the money"
Pros - good price, adequate rooms Cons - no free Internet (neither in rooms nor in the lobby), average food
"Old and putrid smelling room, mediocre food"
Hotel is dated, but mostly clean. However, the bathroom smells of sewage the entire time we were there. Staff tries hard to please guests but there's only so much they can do with mediocre food. No variety, poorly cooked and impossible to make reservation to the one restaurant that requires it as it gets full 5 mins after they allow you to make reservation. […] Staff is very helpful. "Great time for family trip."
I took my better half and three yr old son during spring break to this hotel and had a great time. plenty of activities for us to do. The food is as good as any buffet and the service was better. We enjoyed the room service and loved the night shows performed. The pools were great and the swim up bar a plus. A nice diverse crowed of families and singles […] looking to enjoy the beautiful weather and activities. Whether you have the beach view or bay view they are both great views. I look forward to staying again and will recommend this hotel for others to stay. Read more
"Clientel attending"
When we arrived, the hotel and facilities were great----but it was full of boys and girls in their late teens and early twenties and they all seemed on a high--which was great for them and would have been great for us if we had been that age---but those over 30 found the noise overpowering--and the running and sprinting around of the younger groups in […] the lobbies, lifts and facilities generally was problematic at our age. The Customer Servicers offered and several others us a no quibble transfer to their sister hotel, the Royal Solaris----which was much better for us Read more
Nice shows at night.
"horrible experience"
maybe for somebody who travels first time this hotel would be quite pleasant, but not for me. last year i stayed in riu caribe, cancun and had a great time. and riu caribe only 3 and a half stars. gr solaris rated 4 stars and everything is worse in solaris. first of all it is very boring in there. no entertainment staff. there are few food places but […] there is always a problem to remember what time every place is open and closes. reservations are almost needed everywhere. selection of food is very minimal compare to riu caribe. everyday i had no idea which restaurant is open and which one is not. this hotel is very confusing. beach is terrible. i could not swim because of huge waves. of coarse huge waves is not hotel's fault but adding it to all negative feelings it really left a bad taste in my mouth. to see the only show every night everybody have to seat around round tables and eat. now what kind of crap is that? what if i don't want to eat and just see a show?? the only good spot in this hotel was my hotel room. thanks god i had my laptop with me. otherwise i would die from boredom. never again i will book this hotel. back to riu cancun next year. no brainer! "GR Solaris - great value"
Great value for all-inclusive. Room clean, but VERY cramped when traveling with kids. We were 2 adults/2 kids age 6 & 8 in a room with 2 double beds and a murphy bed. We could barely move. The beds and pillows are rock hard. Room clean though and the hotel is immaculate. Pool water is shockingly warm - loved it. Beach is beautiful, but waves too rough […] for 6 year old. Fun for bigger kids and adults though. Would definately return if good deal on 2 rooms for the family! Read more
The room was very humid and the food not really good but overall we had a pleasant staying. The entarteiner in the kids' room was awesome and the beach outstanding. The shows at night were also pretty nice. Don't waste your time with dinner at marco Polo restaurant, ;they sell it as a 5 star restaurant in reality you get the same food of the buffet […] just arranged a little better on the plate. "Very fun hotel"
Great hotel staff and awesome entertainment staff amazing time. Food was ok not the best but enough to fill you up and make sure you go out with hotel at night to the club they choose its the best way to go .
"Outstanding Hotel"
before we booked the reservation I did a lot of research. I think the Hotel was a great fit for us! The food was good, the people were awesome, the activities and shows were a lot of fun. You have beach access from the hotel. The hotel was always clean and the rooms were clean also. I also heard a lot about the "time share" people...Honestly, I think […] the people in Vegas are 100 times more annoying than at the GR Solaris. We told Christine one time when we arrived that we would let her know if we were interested and she left us alone the entire time. I would highly recommend the hotel to anybody that is looking for a resort that will provide all inclusive services! Read more
"Very nice week"
We shopped quite a while for hotels (mostly through on-line reviews) and found the typical smattering of results. In general the average review was accurate. Nice hotel, attentive staff. The room was acceptable - but our room-safe did not work initiatlly and took several tries to correct (although they did try promptly and diligently to do so). About […] 1/2 way through the AC unit started making noises that were hard to describe to the staff. We used room-service only once on our day of departure (too early for the restaurant) and the service was very timely and food very good. The daily all-inclusive fair was very good at breakfast, fair at lunch, and very nice at dinner. I should add our trip was at the height of the H1N1 scare, and there was very little competition for reservations at Marco Polo. From reading prior reviews I would expect this to be more difficult when the hotel is at capacity. Food and service in the Marco Polo was Excellent! The pool was loud during the day with many activities all broadcast over loudspeakers, that were difficult to ignore if you didn't want to take part. Lounge chair and unbrella access was simple, but again the hotel was far below full capacity. The beach was nice enough, not much depth to the beach but what was there had ample soft clean sand. If you haven't been to Cancun before it is worth going. A few things to be aware of: - Uniformed and official looking people stationed at desks near the exit are not the travel, airport or hotel representatives they perport to be. Walk past or you will get your first immersion into the time-share realm. Bring US and MX currency. Many people say they like US currency, but be aware that the exchnage rate is pretty causal, and on taxis and buses and even the hotels the ture exchange rate of ~12.7:1 is rounded down to 10:1 to keep the math simple, but that can cost you a lot extra. In short I'd go back, and I wouldn't even wait for the next pandemic! Read more
"incomodo"

"Gr Solaris Cancun resort & spa- all inclusive"
Read more
Read more
Read more
