"One Of The Best In Reykjavik"
We wanted a family room - they are very hard to come by, especially in Reykjavik. Expedia and Icelandair Natura came through with their Double Deluxe room. Beautifully decorated and roomy. The windows were tripled glazed - so even though we faced the regional airport, we were rarely bothered with noise. Our son loved watching the comings and goings […] of the airport and slept on a comfortable mattress on the window bench (he is a teen). We had a comfortable bed and roomy living area and bathroom. The room came with a kettle, coffee, sugar, creamer, bath robes, iron and ironing board and toiletries, also a small fridge. When we checked in we were immediately given a room, even though it was early morning. We asked for a free bus pass, which we talk full advantage of to explore the city. The hotel has a dedicated concierge to arrange tours. The hotel is located across from The Pearl and its beautiful nature grounds - good for running and strolls. Had a wonderful week stay. "Super hotel at domestic airport yet close to city"
We arrived late at night due to a delayed flight from Greenland. The desk staff was efficient and quick. We were upgraded due to the late hour. I asked how late the bar was open and was told just a half hour more to closing. I said well take our bags to our room and return for a beer. When we walked into the bar two beers were already poured and waiting. […] The young man said he thought we'd like his choice a local brew. The hotel provides free bus passes for getting into downtown Reykjavik and getting around town though it is walkable. They have a computer terminal dedicated for printing your flights boarding pass and a strong wifi signal. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not close to city center"
We stayed at Natura because we were scheduled to depart from the domestic airport the next morning. The hotel is convenient for this purpose, but is quite a hike from the downtown city center. If you plan on touring downtown Reykjavik, you will either have to take a bus, pay for a cab, or walk for about a half hour just to get there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel but should not be a 4-star hotel"
Natura is about 35 mins walk to the city center, but the hotel they give you a free public bus voucher (a card) to the city, so it's ok (bus runs every 30 mins), you have to pay a deposit of ISK 15,000 (approx. USD 125) though, so don't lose it and remember to return it to the front desk! There is a tour desk inside the hotel, very helpful and there […] are plenty of selections. Breakfast buffet is rather expensive (approx. USD 24 per person), but very good quality. Dinner menu (Satt) is not that impressive and it's pricey, but if you don't want to take a cab to the city (approx. USD 20 one way), guess it's ok. The room is relatively small for a 4-star hotel, no amenities, just a shower cap with hand soap and shampoo. No stationery inside our room (??), not even a pen, so the price that you pay for a 4-star hotel room is not exactly what you are expecting. Hotel staffs are friendly, the hotel can be easily reached by the 'flybus' to and from the airport (ISK 2,500 one way, USD 21.00), the earliest one departs at 04:15 am from the hotel (reservations required), so it's nice. Just give yourself a little bit extra time since the total journey will take about 1 hr 15 mins to the airport because of all the other pick ups from the other hotels. If you prefer to be in downtown and don't wanna walk too much, then this is not the one for you. If you're ok taking the bus (or a cab), then this one is fine. Shops are closed at 6:00 pm, so plan your shopping accordingly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"next to the wrong airport for my purposes"
Clearly I was dumb and not attentive when booking in advance, but don't make the same expensive mistake I made searching for an "airport hotel" when flying to Iceland -- not distinguishing between the airports in Reykjavik and Keflavik -- a forty minute cab ride apart.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"very comfortable hotel with great staff!"
This hotel met all my expectations! The front desk staff was always helpful, and friendly. I found the hotel to be quiet, clean and comfortable. It is a 20 minute walk from the hotel to the Hallgrimskirkja Church in Reykjavik, but we used the bus passes given out by the hotel to get into town, for the most part, because some days were cold and wet. […] I found the breakfast buffet to be quite adequate, with a variety of fresh offerings, and an attentive staff. We would definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Satisfied with our stay"
All in all we had a good experience here. It's about a 5-10 minute drive outside downtown Reykjavik. There were other hotels right in the downtown area that would have made it walkable to go out to the shops and restaurants, but luckily we had a car so this was fine. We had a "poet" room, it was pretty basic but it worked for us. The restaurant was […] excellent, although it took forever to get drinks we ordered. They will assist in booking excursions and tours so that is very helpful. I can't say I have any complaints but next time I'd probably stay somewhere within walking distance of downtown. The hotel has been recently renovated and I found it to be quite comfortable. Not much information in the rooms with regards to hotel facilities and services, I had to keep calling reception to find out about wifi, room service etc. Reception staff are the not that friendly or warm/welcoming. Breakfast was great, good selection.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is a hotel that understands hospitality. They are efficient, expeditiously serve the needs of a large amount of tourists and provide the amenities that add value, like the spa, live music and bedtime stories. Location is great, but best if you have a car or use transit. Great running and walking routes nearby. Rooms are smallish, but efficient. […] It looks and feels Icelandic and is a solid choice for those who are practical about tourist accommodations, but like the touches that are unique to their location. "Good location, easy access to main roads and town"
We liked the hotel and the staff. While our room happened to be just above the disco on a Saturday night, we were kept awake because of the music. When we spoke to the front desk about it the next morning they assured us that that wasn't supposed to happen and it wouldn't happen again. They provided a free breakfast because of it. I would stay there […] again, I'd just request a room away from the disco. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent Honeymoon Retreat or Family Getaway"
The spa at Hotel Natura is worth the stay away from the city centre. It is the most relaxing experience to have complimentary access to a beautiful and modern spa after each day of exploring all the outdoor activities that Iceland has to offer. We found the walk to the domestic airport convenient and the walk to downtown easily done from Natura. Great pool and spa. Nice park and running or walking area accross from the hotel. About a 20 min. walk from downtown but a shuttle was available. The large open space seemed to make it easier to catch tour buses and rides.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A Little Bit of Luxury"
Natura was not near City Center, but they were very accommodating, including a free shuttle running several times a day and most tours will pick you up at your hotel anyway. The overall stay wasn't half bad. I did not know that the location was not really centrally located in the heart of the city but rather next to an airport. The design of the room was pleasant and I really loved the lounge/meeting/dining/bar/reception areas of this hotel. Room was quite basic. Bed was comfortable but nothing to call home about. The bathroom […] was a bit dated and the hair dryer was busted... "Scandinavia Design and Atmosphere"
The hotel is located literally 100 feet from the Reykjavik Domestic Airport but across the air field from the airport terminals. I encountered a horrible check-in person initially but later found a fantastic front desk person to balance out my experience. There is a spa in the hotel. The hot tub and pool are colorfully lit and have a nice atmosphere […] as long as young kids are not splashing in the pool. There's also a nice workout room with free weights, dry and wet saunas. At the hotel restaurant, Satt, get the buffet for 5,500 Kronu if you are hungry, it's worth it. The deluxe rooms are much nicer than regular rooms but obviously cost more. My queen bed was actually two twins pushed together, which I didn't appreciate. There's not much else to do at the hotel. I found nicely groomed walking paths across the street. You can also take the hotel bus shuttle downtown to where all the action is. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good for everybody"
Good hotel with good service. I stayed with my sons( 17 and 9 y.o). It's 10 minutes walking distance from "warm beach" and 20 minutes from downtown. They have free shuttle service to take you to downtown but we did not use it. We enjoyed walking. Local airport is next to hotel. We did not hear any noise in our room. Hotel has nice swimming pool, spa, […] sauna, steam room, fitness equipment. We loved it. They have office of travel company in hotel and you can buy all tickets in hotel. I booked only one tour through Viator and rest of our trips I bought in hotel. But food is very expensive. Dinner buffet cost about $58 per person and my 9 y.o. eat very little. "Good hotel for everyone."
Overall a nice hotel. Clean and pleasant atmosphere. However, even in Iceland during the summer, A/C would have been nice. We faced west and when it was sunny, our room was just oppressive. No bathroom fan either and trying to blow dry hair after many showers was unbearable. Windows barely opened so truly no relief. And there is no one to help with […] bags and elevators are small. Location was fine, a 1/2 walk into Reykavik. Never saw the pool. Food was just ok. Nothing to write home about. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good for overnight stay."
Good place to stay overnight if traveling to/from BSI terminal. Breakfast was good but not included in price.Genuine Expedia guest review
If you love Iceland as I do, but you can't see how the unusually high charges at other Reykjavik hotels can be justified (they can't except for the fact that people pay them!) you'll like this hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean, although smallish as European rooms often are. The old Reykjavik airport is literally next door. I never heard a […] thing when I was inside and the airport would be very convenient for anyone wanting to take a short flight on one of the ciuntry's regional carriers. The hotel staff is VERY courteous and helpful. I've stayed there several times over the long life of the hotel, and I've never been unhappy with it. I might pass on the breakfast next time, though. It'sa buffet and in days past it was a great presentation of Icelandic foods - skyrr, many cheeses, excellent breads, fish, etc, etc. but that has slipped a bit. There's a major expansion going on this summer (2012), seeming to double the hotel's size. This hotel is about a 30 minute walk to downtown Reykjavik along well-kept walking paths. A bus line to the downtown terminal runs right by. But take the walk. Reykjavik is a gorgeous city. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Distant from sites, restaurants, etc."
I stayed at this property all of last week; it was a tremenous disappointment! It was far away from everything, and the advertised shuttle only ran 3 times in AM and 3 times in PM . A light in my room never worked, even though maintenance was supposed to fix it twice. A step down from the entry to the bedroom was dangerous especially at night; the bathtub […] was slick, and there were no hand rails. The only toiletries were a bottle of hand soap and another one in the shower that was supposed to be bath soap, shampoo, and conditioner! The travel desk booked my airport return bus at the wrong time, and I was not informed until an hour before I had to leave. I only talked to one waitress who appeared at all glad that I was there! Front desk staff often talked to each other when I approached them with a question, rather than talking to me. The one time that I could ride the shuttle, a sign in the right lower front window listed additional AM and PM shuttles. I copied them down while on the bus! I stayed in town to eat dinner on Sat. night and arrived at the shuttle stop to go back to the hotel. I was told that I could not get back until 10:45! It was then 7:15. Thank goodness for the extended daylight since I had to walk the 25-30 minutes to return to the hotel. Cabs have to be called ahead of time and charge outrageous prices. Tours also usually dropped off guests at this site last. l'd never call it a four-star property! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice but a bit of a hike to town"
Overall we were quite satisfied with the hotel accommodations. Service was very good with the exception of the untrusting receptionist at the buffet breakfast (male, Indian or Pakastani) who did not believe that only I wanted the buffet (not my wife). The woman that assisted with the bus tours and reservations to the airport was very friendly and notable […] in her willingness to help. The walk to town was a bit of a hike but we actually enjoyed it. It would have been more convenient if there had been more shuttle times, but I understand that we were there off-peak. "Pacific Northwest Girl in a wet, cold November Iceland"
This hotel was perfect for us. We like to walk so the 15 minute walk into town was just right. The hotel also gives you a map with hiking and biking trails around the area which were short (3-6 miles) but still nice. The service was very good, once we got used to Icelandic culture. When you approach an Icelander, you have to speak first and ask for […] service, otherwise they will ignore you until you do. The hotel was very nice and the rooms clean, if not on the small side. The bathroom was super tiny but did the job. Privacy was not to be had as the bathroom had a large gap at the top of the door so anything you did in there could be heard from the room, which made it hard to let the other person sleep in. Also, the walls are thin so bring earplugs, normal for Iceland. The hotel had story night on Thursday, which I highly recommend. They also have a shuttle that does into town but only makes one stop that isn't that far from the hotel. It would be more helpful if it had a stop in downtown and uptown. We never used it since it was just as quick to walk back. The food was adequate but it may be worth the trip to go into town and try the delicious fare for the same price. We did a hike up to Perlan, the science center at the top of the hill, and it was a good walk and a great view. We also saw a bunny while in the woods, which was unexpected. I would stay at the Natura again and do some of the day trips that Iceland Excursions does and picks you up at the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
First, the Loftleidir Hotel has changed its name to Natura. We were continually told that the change is recent. The local buses had the old name as did all the literature. This change also extended to various tour buses that now went to the back (airport side) of the hotel, not the front. Even the person who sold us the Blue Lagoon Tickets as well as […] the return trip to the airport didn't understand this rather critical aspect. The breakfast buffet was good but it wasn't included in the room fee. When we asked we were told it was because we booked it through another agency however we booked it through the Iceland air website. You couldn't take a snack with you even though there were no signs to that effect. The room was spartan. There were no bathroom amenities. There was a happy video in the lobby of a family watching a movie from the bed in their room. We had to put a sandal under each leg of the bed to prevent it from sliding as we watched the abysmal selection on their TV. The bed reading lights were useless unless you wanted to sit on the floor next to the bed. There was no information book in the room about hotel services. And there was no free internet. "Fell in Love with Reykjavik"
Stayed at the Reykjavik Hotel Natura, which was undergoing a renovation and upgrade. The staff went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. They provided electrical adapters, a fan upon request, and helped us book things such as a rental car or day tours. The room we stayed in was next to the small Reykjavik airport, so the planes could wake you […] up in the morning if you are a light sleeper. But having a fan drone in the background as white noise really helped. The hotel is across the street from The Pearl, which is really a cool place with an observatory and a great restaurant as well as hiking trails and lots of bunnies. "Overall, Good Experience."
My time at this hotel was overall a good experience during March of 2011. The hotel was undergoing construction, but that didn't really impact my stay. My room and common areas were in good shape. "Bad location, false promises"
The location of this hotel is awful unless you don't mind $20 taxi rides. The free shuttles are infrequent and inconvient. In March, there were no sidewalks on the busy streets surrounding the hotel. Maybe walking is possible months, but no guarentees. The hotel supposedly has a bar and pool. Both are closed for renovations. The staff claims to make […] up for this by offering to drop you at the pool. The shuttle driver would only drop us at one location downtown nowhere near the pool and no one is going to pick you from the pool. When I complained about this at the desk, they said that the driver would drop me at the pool. This clearly wasn't true, because he didn't. I asked for a reduced rate, because the pool had been the hotel's only selling point which they refused. They also refused to comp breakfast which seemed like an easy solution. It is an unremarkable buffet that's just sitting there anyway. The hotel is clean enough and the staff is competent. Just don't expect to get what you pay for and don't expect the staff to care. When we checked in, one light switch didn't work and was immediately repaired (within 10 minutes). I asked for a refrigerator on arrival and got one, also within a few minutes. Service was remarkably […] good throughout our stay. Staff was helpful in finding local activities and providing directions. Hotel was under repair during our stay and only about 1/3 of the building was open. Pool was under repair as well. The hotel provided us with free tickets to any of Reykjavik's thermal pools, which turned out to be more interesting and a lot more fun than the hotel's would have been, so no complaints. Hotel is adjacent to the domestic airport, but there seemed to be only a dozen or so flights a day, none in the evening or night so noise wasn't a problem. Nice walking paths nearby. It was about a 15 minute walk to town. Most of the walk is around the perimeter of the airport. Once you reach the end of the airport, it's a short walk through a park to the center of Reykjavik. There are paved paths along the roads that circle the airport and the walk was easy. The hotel is across the street from the Pearl and there is a bowling alley up the street as well. There is a beach (with hot tubs) around 10 minutes walk away, but is only open a few days a week on the winter. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
