I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. I had to stay in a room without hot water, heating or even a blanket. The door was broken, light socket coming out, carpet dirty and the bathroom smell and look like a public area. My experience was very uncomfortable, please, before u ever consider staying there....make sure there is no other options […] because you will regret your stay. "A terrible Hotel for an outrageous price."
A terrible Hotel, inappropriate for business travelers. There was no central heat in the room with outside temperatures of 12 Fahrenait. They used 2 small electrical heaters instead. Overpriced for the services offered. Hotels.com is widely exposed even having a Hotel like this in their list, for a high price. I am not going to use Hotels.com any m […] ore. "Hotel needs repairs"
Hotel rooms need lots of repair work. Hotel staff did not honor the requests I had made through hotels.com website while booking (simple request like queen bed and extra towels). As neighborhood has lots of shops and eating places, so we were lucky to find good souvenirs. Also if you are lucky, you can find free parking down the same road. Room price […] is good for last minute booking and students visiting the place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and Affordable - No Frills"
The carpet is worn and the furniture is old. The water is hot, the bed is comfortable, the neighborhood is great (and quiet), and access to downtown Chicago on the "L" is less than two blocks away.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Crash pad only"
The room is meant for one person. Couldnt walk past each other in room. Bed looked as if it were made up by child. No elevator. We climbed 3 flights of stairs with luggage.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Basic accommodation in the convenient place"
5 minute bus ride to Convention Center, plenty of Chinese food and subway direct to Airport compensate for very basic room. You got what you pay for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is really bad. Everything is bad. Especially, the floor, bed and the bathroom are very dirty. I will never book this hotel again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worse than expected"
This hotel was 315 dollars less expensive than any alternative in the area of McCormick Place saving me 630 dollars over the 2 days I stayed there. However, if I had to do it again I would spend the money. The staff was friendly and the area was fine during daylight, but at night it was very uncomfortable to be outside. The bed was poorly made everyday […] and there was water damage all over the bathroom because the shower door didn't close and the water when you would turn it on shot right out the shower door. The bed sheets and pillows were of terrible quality and the room walls were paper thin which made an interesting conversation between and man and his "best girl" whom owed him money very clearly heard. It was a good hotel to stay the night in. The only issue i had was that there wasnt a fitted sheet on the bed, it was two loose ones and a blanket.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"spend more and go elsewhere"
No hot water one morning, itchy bed, I hope I didn't get any bedbugs, smelled like a sweaty gym.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room is pretty bad, durty smell, not clean and old... Air and heater were not working, and assistence was ridiculus.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Tiny, tiny room, run down condition. BUT the price was right for being so close to downtown. Its south of it, I think about two miles. We were on the 3rd floor, no elevator. Only in a emergency needing a room would I stay here again. I just kept praying there were no bugs, did not see any.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Exceedingly basic hotel, more akin to crashing at a friend's guest room. The door locks are a little loose and require futzing and double/triple checking to make sure they engage. (Another guest had this problem as well, and we compared notes.) Adequate for a solo trip on the cheap, but I would not suggest staying here with someone you want to impress […] or respect you afterwards. That said, the location was great and the bed was comfortable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Economical and convenient to McCormick Place"
If you understand that the room rate is ~$200 less than other hotels in the area then this is a good value if you just want a place to sleep and shower. TV and internet worked fine. For the price and location I have no complaints. Easy walk to the McCormick Place convention center and a ton of restaurants if you like Chinese food which I do. Staff was […] friendly and helpful. Service: was terrible. The front desk gave wrong information about parking that resulted in $150 worth of parking tickets in 2 days despite my persitance inquiring about parking options. Hotel condition: the hotel and room were in disrepair. Hotel cleanliness: found several hairs in my bed that didn't match my own hair color. Hotel comfort: a/c, […] and heat were not readonably adjustable. Neigborhood: wouldn't recomend unless you want to stay in a Chinese neigborhood. I speak Chinese, and have lived in China but I wouldn't recomend this neigborhood. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"OK for sleeping and location, but needs a refresh"
The hotel is in a good location in Chinatown as it is close to McCormick Place (20 minute walk, 5 minute drive.) The room was up a flight of narrow and somewhat dark stairs, and was very small. Everything is 'threadbare', and kind of seedy. I got only CBS in English on the television. The bathroom was clean, but tired. The air conditioner worked well, […] as it quickly cooled down the room. (It as off when I arrived.) Good news - there was free street parking by the hotel. Amazing for being in Chicago. This is only a hotel I would use if traveling alone, and did not plan to stay in the room except to sleep. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
While the neighborhood is cool, the rooms could be much nicer. The beds are too small. Also, the staff is terrible. A worker knocked on our door at 1 in the morning to yell at me about the no smoking policy and threatened to call the cops, in spite of the fact that no one in the room was smoking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"READ THIS BEFORE RENTING"
If you are paying more than $99 a night for this room it is NOT AT ALL WORTH IT! I stayed when I got a deal for $89 for the night and that was pushing it. The rooms are VERY old and feels unclean. Again, anything under $99 I would consider MAYBE??? Anything over $99 and NO WAY!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel, convenient for location"
This hotel was within my budget, very close to the metro station and right in chinatown, full of restaurants and shops. The staff was friendly and the room was fine. The sheets and towels would need some maintenance, as they were clean but had some stains. The room did not have a fridge or a microwave and breakfast was not included, which would have […] been nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Did the trick"
This hotel "did the trick". No thrills. No shrills either. It was a perfectly acceptable hotel when you know that most of the channels on the tv in the room are in another language and that there is no soap dish in the shower and that towels are on the small side. I'm an no frills type of guy. I don't need to stay in a five star hotel to be happy. The […] location is close enough to Downtown Chicago/the Loop/McCormick Place. "LIKE CHINESE STUFF? GO THEN"
No lift/elevator. Only stairs. Reception desk guy was rude. Shower door was broken. I think that AC was not real. They just installed a fan inside. But good sides are: Cheapest option close to Chicago. Lots of Chinese food available nearby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Ideal location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was not in the area that it stated, the picture that was on the Expedia website on the front of the hotel was not correct. The hotel was very very old and dirty. Dirty carpets with stains everywhere. The bed was suppose to be a queen, it was NOT. The bathroom toilet did not work, the shower had hair everywhere along with the toilet. There wasn't […] even enough room for us to walk around, we had to literally stand in one spot. It was suppose to be the 2nd most popular hotel that was located next to Solider Field. It was neither of those. We ended up not even staying the night, lost our money but that was safer and cleaner than staying there. I will never trust Expedia again and never use the site again. "you get what you pay for"
Overall, it's okay. It's cheap and located in a convenient location in Chinatown. The red line train nearby will take you almost to all of the tourist attractions in Chicago. Very convenient. The hotel itself is quite old and it is more like a budget hostel, do not expect professional hotel service there. The room was not too big, but pretty decent […] and quite clean. However, there is this smell of old building that is pretty obvious inside the room and in the corridor. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient & cheap for the location"
Great price for the location. Yeah, the room was small, but clean enough. No elevator - 3rd floor walk-up was a bit of a hassle. Fun being in Chinatown and very close to subway stop. No complaining here - would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was in this hotel long enough to see the room. there is only curb side parking if you would leave your car, or can find a spot. but i refused to stay because it was the worst place I have ever stayed. i stay in 150 hotels a year for work!Genuine Expedia guest review
For the money it's worth it...if you don't mind staying in room the size of a king size bed & a computer monitor for a tv.Genuine Expedia guest review
I had no problems, except the two levels of walk up the stairs to get my suitcase in and out of the room was a little bit of a problem. But I love the location re McCormick place, where my meeting was held. Only one hotel is closer, and this one is about a 10 min. bus ride from McCormick Place (bus #21.) Many other hotels - those recommended for the […] meeting - required a shuttle-bus ride of nearly 30 minutes, given Chicago traffic. Also I love that it is only two blocks from a Red-line light rail station; its only a few minutes ride from downtown via rail. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient place to stay when you go visit Chicago"
I traveled with my family to visit Chicago and we just need to find a place to crash after a whole day exploring the Loop. The hotel fits our need. It's in Chinatown- which is not so far away from downtown and really convenient with a subway station nearby. The room was a little bit too small for us. There was no fridge or microwave- however, there's […] a common kitchen on the 1st floor with all the equipments in case any guests need to use them. Free wifi but rarely works. Feels like there's no one come in to clean our room everyday. Basically our bed was still exactly the same mess as how we left it. And there's no elevator. Beware of that if you have a lot of luggage with you. In the end, we were only looking for a place to stay at night. We know what we've signed up for in the beginning- definitely not something fancy. Landed early and could not check in until 3. They had our room given away to another group with the same name. Had to insist that the picture of the guy that got my room was not me. Door was not secure, could be unlocked just by a piece of plastic card. Bathroom did not have a ventilating fan, had to open a window. No mat on the floor inside the bathroom. "The good, the bad, and the ugly"
The good: reasonably nice staff, comfortable bed, in Chinatown. The bad: not a good wifi signal, almost no tv channel options, tiny room, dated facilities. The ugly: paper thin walls, unruly patrons. I could deal with the good and the bad. However, I could not stand the ugly. My first night I was woken up by two groups of patrons, both on opposite […] sides of my room. They were loud, drunk, cussing, and were ignorant and inconsiderate people to put it nicely. Add in the paper thin walls and your going to have a horrible night. There's also a lot of trains, and ambulances that pass by. The second night there was much more peaceful, thank goodness. I do not recommend this hotel. It's a shame because I love Chinatown. The people in Chinatown were very nice, in general. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"NO PARKING! NO WIFI!"
We went, not expecting a 4-star or anything, but still. First room--toilet had no running water. So up to top floor with heavy luggage--no elevator. Bathroom same size as bedroom--nice but unnecessary--would have been better to have room for another bed. Chair in room not safe to sit on. Paint in room looked like mustard slapped on walls with cheese […] slices. Bed, bath and room appeared clean enough, public area carpets were horrendously stained and dirty, but didnt affect the stay really. Shower was odd and difficult to work. Got extra towels and washcloths when requested, but the "wash cloths" were bigger than hand towels--dont know if that's a Chinese thing or what? There was NO street parking whatsoever, but a nice public lot within a couple blocks for less than two zero dollars. Wifi never worked when we were there. Fire hall less than a block away but didnt disturb sleep. Soooo, kind of a pain to unload in the street and haul luggage in and reverse when leaving. Staff friendly. Coffee in morning and thats all. Chairs in rooms NOT safe to sit in, need to go in the trash. Even if it doesnt fit the decor, get a cheap folding chair for sitting, please. missing screen in window. "Cheap room close to downtown"
This is a decent hotel if you aren't picky. You get what you pay for. I was woken in the middle of the night by the garbage truck outside. The room was clean and comfortable but little. "Old hotel in Chinatown"
Great location for the CTA. Right in the heart of Chinatown. The room quality is below average and rooms are quite small. The hotel and rooms have an old, kind of dingy smell to them. The decor is lacking, musty halls, and the lobby is a bit dirty. If you need a place to crash for the night, you'll be just fine, as long as you're not expecting too much. […] Free parking like 5 blocks north on the street, but it can be a bit hard to get a space. Personally, I enjoyed my stay and would be willing to return. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for females or families though, probably just practical males. Bottom line, this is just an old hotel in Chinatown. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
