Chinatown was a very unique and nice place to stay in. Very convenient and a great location to the city.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
$87/night for a hotel in a major city is definitely a bargain. The hotel is a bit run down, but clean. The room was acceptable - it's a bargain and a great location for exploring Chinatown. The only problem was the walls are very thin so I heard everything that went on in the rooms around me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"pretty good hotel for the money"
It was nice and quiet and the bed was perfect! Oh when we got there price went down so was happy about that aswell!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The area was good for the event we were attending. The hotel though...OMG! VERY UNCOMFORTABLE INSIDE, IT HAS A SMELL VERY BAD SMELL. THEN THE ROOM 211 WAS SOOOOOOO SMALL ALL U COULD DO WAS LAY IN BED OR USE THE BATHROOM. ITS A BOX. OUR ROOM HAD Toe nails on both sides of the bed, pull the sheets back even more in the bed. It was horrible. So we go to […] the front desk nd the receptionist just walked up with us nd picked the toe nails up nd said no big deal. The tv is 10in. We request to talk to a manager PONG told us " be in at 10" go to the front desk nd all of a sudden no one speaks english. Can I speak to a manager...manager nooo we not have one....overall a pretty HORRIBLE place, I'd rather sleep in my car om the streets of Chicago then step foot in their again. A waste of $83.00 Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The only thing nice about my stay here was the location to do many Chinese restaurant's.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Real Chinatown Experience"
Reasonable rates. Great Location. Front desk friendly. Hot water comes & goes, TV reception in all of Chinatown is questionable. No elevator. No Parking but city parking is close. Very thin towels. It's kind of "You get what you pay for". If you want the real "Chinatown Experience" this is it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awful Hotel!! Do Not book a room here!!"
Never again!! Service was not good, not informative about hidden fees.. No elevator Thank u!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Unfortunately, I will never visit here again. There are many restaurants around that serve great food, but the hotel itself smells very badly. We were so afraid to sleep on the sheet were bought sheets to put on the bed. It smelled like old mop water and bleach along with other miscellaneous smells. However; the reception were great, friendly people. […] The woman in the morning was very helpful. That would be the only reason to come back if I could get past the smell. My boyfriend did not like the tight space in the room, but for me it wasn't so bad. Especially for 50 bucks. Overall, i guess i liked my stay because i just slrpt and left however next time around i wouldnt be doing it agaun. Ill go for another room else where. And the locatuon was scary with people peeping around every corner. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My boyfriend and I enjoyed staying here for a night. We really needed it. The staff are ultra friendly, the rooms are so clean and very affordable. Its so close to many of the chinatown's restaurants and a block away from the plaza and the walgreens! I would definitely reccomend this hotel for short getaways.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was perfect for a quick getaway. Great experience just don't expect high quality anything hahaGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good location, but filthy room"
I loved chinatown itself, awesome place to stay. I picked this hotel because of the location and of course the price. I'm not completely dissatisfied because of the price and the fact I was only staying one night, however the room was disgusting. their were hairs on the towels, the quilt was ripped, and the coffee maker was absolutely filthy. if your […] looking for something cheap and short term, it is a nice location however. Had a great time in Chinatown. Plan to stay againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
No space in the rooms and the walls are so thin you can hear every single thing that goes on outside your room. Privacy is also an issue, as there are only two shared bathrooms on each floor. No windows, either.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good location and nice staff. The room was okay and clean. Considering the price and location, this is a good choice for somebody who stays couple of nights. Especially good for guests who can not speak English except Chinese or Cantonese.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Not As Pleasant As Expected"
There were some fundamental errors at this hotel for it to be a hotel. Dusty, Hair in shower and in bed sheets, odd smells, and uncomfortable when it came to getting coffee/ice. It was not as pleasant as I expected.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and comfy!!!"
Don't believe all the reviews you read. It was perfect for a quick getaway. Chinatown Chicago is awesome!!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"would not stay here again under any circumstances."
Dirty hotel and poorly maintained. I stayed for 4 nights and had the same dirty stained bed sheets from the first night when I walked into the room - despite 3 requests to have them changed. The hallway and room carpet was the dirtiest that I have seen in my 30+ years of traveling including most developing countries in Asia.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. I had to stay in a room without hot water, heating or even a blanket. The door was broken, light socket coming out, carpet dirty and the bathroom smell and look like a public area. My experience was very uncomfortable, please, before u ever consider staying there....make sure there is no other options […] because you will regret your stay. "A terrible Hotel for an outrageous price."
A terrible Hotel, inappropriate for business travelers. There was no central heat in the room with outside temperatures of 12 Fahrenait. They used 2 small electrical heaters instead. Overpriced for the services offered. Hotels.com is widely exposed even having a Hotel like this in their list, for a high price. I am not going to use Hotels.com any m […] ore. would not consider or recommend this hotel to anyone. Room was small, not clean a real disappointment.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel proximate to downtown Chicago"
The Chinatown SRO Hotel is a mom and pop type of place off of 22nd Street in Chinatown. It's small, and plain - kind of like a student hotel. It was less expensive though and easy to get to as it's within 1 block of the Red Line CTA train. I would recommend that more discriminating customers bring their own towel, since the towels provided are somewhat […] small, but it's pretty clean, and met my overnight needs quite well. "Hotel needs repairs"
Hotel rooms need lots of repair work. Hotel staff did not honor the requests I had made through hotels.com website while booking (simple request like queen bed and extra towels). As neighborhood has lots of shops and eating places, so we were lucky to find good souvenirs. Also if you are lucky, you can find free parking down the same road. Room price […] is good for last minute booking and students visiting the place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and Affordable - No Frills"
The carpet is worn and the furniture is old. The water is hot, the bed is comfortable, the neighborhood is great (and quiet), and access to downtown Chicago on the "L" is less than two blocks away.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Basic Cheap room"
...just go there so that you don't want to sleep on the streetsGenuine Expedia guest review
"Crash pad only"
The room is meant for one person. Couldnt walk past each other in room. Bed looked as if it were made up by child. No elevator. We climbed 3 flights of stairs with luggage.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Basic accommodation in the convenient place"
5 minute bus ride to Convention Center, plenty of Chinese food and subway direct to Airport compensate for very basic room. You got what you pay for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is really bad. Everything is bad. Especially, the floor, bed and the bathroom are very dirty. I will never book this hotel again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worse than expected"
This hotel was 315 dollars less expensive than any alternative in the area of McCormick Place saving me 630 dollars over the 2 days I stayed there. However, if I had to do it again I would spend the money. The staff was friendly and the area was fine during daylight, but at night it was very uncomfortable to be outside. The bed was poorly made everyday […] and there was water damage all over the bathroom because the shower door didn't close and the water when you would turn it on shot right out the shower door. The bed sheets and pillows were of terrible quality and the room walls were paper thin which made an interesting conversation between and man and his "best girl" whom owed him money very clearly heard. "Worked for me"
It was a good hotel to stay the night in. The only issue i had was that there wasnt a fitted sheet on the bed, it was two loose ones and a blanket.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"spend more and go elsewhere"

The room is pretty bad, durty smell, not clean and old... Air and heater were not working, and assistence was ridiculus.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, Rough property"
The outside of the hotel, in Chinese Tradition, is very nice. The inside is rough. Halls are 1.5 shoulder widths wide. We were on the 4th floor, no elevator. We had to pay for parking 2 blocks from the hotel. The appearance of the inside of the hotel reminds you of a pay by the hour hotel. Bathrooms were fine, clean and worked properly. Beds, desk, […] stool for a chair, were unappealing. We used a portable heater for the room. The built in ones didn't work. The plus for the hotel is the location. It is very close to the subway. If you plan a night of drinking on the town and only need a bed and a shower, it will be okay for you. You would not want to spend any time lounging in the room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Tiny, tiny room, run down condition. BUT the price was right for being so close to downtown. Its south of it, I think about two miles. We were on the 3rd floor, no elevator. Only in a emergency needing a room would I stay here again. I just kept praying there were no bugs, did not see any.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Exceedingly basic hotel, more akin to crashing at a friend's guest room. The door locks are a little loose and require futzing and double/triple checking to make sure they engage. (Another guest had this problem as well, and we compared notes.) Adequate for a solo trip on the cheap, but I would not suggest staying here with someone you want to impress […] or respect you afterwards. That said, the location was great and the bed was comfortable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Economical and convenient to McCormick Place"
If you understand that the room rate is ~$200 less than other hotels in the area then this is a good value if you just want a place to sleep and shower. TV and internet worked fine. For the price and location I have no complaints. Easy walk to the McCormick Place convention center and a ton of restaurants if you like Chinese food which I do. Staff was […] friendly and helpful. Service: was terrible. The front desk gave wrong information about parking that resulted in $150 worth of parking tickets in 2 days despite my persitance inquiring about parking options. Hotel condition: the hotel and room were in disrepair. Hotel cleanliness: found several hairs in my bed that didn't match my own hair color. Hotel comfort: a/c, […] and heat were not readonably adjustable. Neigborhood: wouldn't recomend unless you want to stay in a Chinese neigborhood. The worst for the money. Please don't book it. No internet, no remote for TV, rooms cold, no safety door locks and many more.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"OK for sleeping and location, but needs a refresh"
The hotel is in a good location in Chinatown as it is close to McCormick Place (20 minute walk, 5 minute drive.) The room was up a flight of narrow and somewhat dark stairs, and was very small. Everything is 'threadbare', and kind of seedy. I got only CBS in English on the television. The bathroom was clean, but tired. The air conditioner worked well, […] as it quickly cooled down the room. (It as off when I arrived.) Good news - there was free street parking by the hotel. Amazing for being in Chicago. This is only a hotel I would use if traveling alone, and did not plan to stay in the room except to sleep. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
If you don't plan to rent a car or pay $400-$500/night in luxury hotels, this one is very close to McCormick, you can walk 5-10 min to West Building! Although, it's kind of hard to swallow with the condition of the building/room. Very historical!!! I felt like I was in 1800s.Genuine Expedia guest review
"What happens when you go in blind!"
Arrived there to my suprise no elevators no coffee for coffee maker, told of additional charges if they felt that room was left in mess? just not to friendly suspected a little racial indifference.Won't use this hotel again.Genuine Expedia guest review
While the neighborhood is cool, the rooms could be much nicer. The beds are too small. Also, the staff is terrible. A worker knocked on our door at 1 in the morning to yell at me about the no smoking policy and threatened to call the cops, in spite of the fact that no one in the room was smoking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"READ THIS BEFORE RENTING"
If you are paying more than $99 a night for this room it is NOT AT ALL WORTH IT! I stayed when I got a deal for $89 for the night and that was pushing it. The rooms are VERY old and feels unclean. Again, anything under $99 I would consider MAYBE??? Anything over $99 and NO WAY!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel, convenient for location"
This hotel was within my budget, very close to the metro station and right in chinatown, full of restaurants and shops. The staff was friendly and the room was fine. The room did not have a fridge or a microwave and breakfast was not included, which would have […] been nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Did the trick"
This hotel "did the trick". No thrills. No shrills either. It was a perfectly acceptable hotel when you know that most of the channels on the tv in the room are in another language and that there is no soap dish in the shower and that towels are on the small side. I'm an no frills type of guy. I don't need to stay in a five star hotel to be happy. The […] location is close enough to Downtown Chicago/the Loop/McCormick Place.
